The Threshold — Astrology Forecast for Mon., Feb. 16th - Sun., Feb. 22nd, 2015

Please note that all times given below are Eastern Standard Time -- to change the listed times to your own timezone, I recommend clicking here for the time and date converter

Last week went pretty smoothly, with the exception of Wednesday, when Mercury stationed -- my car battery died and I had to ask a neighbor for a lift to my next appointment… I probably would have been a lot more upset, had I not known that Mercury came to a halt that day… I just "went with it" and it all turned out ok ;-)

This week's headline items: We have a New Moon in 29 degrees of Aquarius on Wednesday evening -- and the Sun changes signs from Aquarius to Pisces right after the New Moon becomes exact. Mars and Venus also change signs this week -- from Pisces to Aries. There are three Moon VoC phases: Monday afternoon (for 4 hours), Thursday evening (a little over 24 hours), and Saturday evening (almost 24 hours).

Monday: the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn until 7:13pm EST. The Capricorn Moon emphasizes our need for structure and forward planning. We are motivated by a desire for success; achievement and manifestation are paramount.

We are resourceful and pursue economy with time, energy, and other resources. We take things more seriously during Moon in Capricorn: we look reality in the eye. This can be a very productive period. As best as you can, avoid "should-ing" on yourself. Take the pressure off: try saying "I am doing the best I can and that's all I can ever do"  ;-)

Saturn (ruler of Capricorn) is transiting through Sagittarius right now, making this a great time to explore our beliefs. It's also a great time to focus on the greater meaning of life and for going beyond conditioned thinking structures. As best as you can, be authentic about what you believe: Do your beliefs actually match your direct experience of life -- as it is for you now, not how it was 5 or 10 years ago?

Mercury will resume its normal pace through the sky, ending its station today (Monday): Communication and transportation is now back to “normal”, as are any associated gadgets, vehicles, etc. New ideas and information received during the Mercury retrograde phase can now be reviewed -- What could you do with that now?

Remember Mercury’s shadow phase: If you are planning on buying anything to do with travel, transportation or communication devices... If possible, wait until March 3rd ;-)

Monday at 3:17pm EST, we’ll enter a 4-hour Moon void of course (VoC), which ends at 7:13pm ESTUse this intuitive time as an opportunity to do things that help you get connected to your higher Self. It’s also a great time for bringing a sense of flow and faith to your long-term plans. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new.

Monday at 7:13pm EST, the Moon moves into freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, where it will journey until Wednesday evening. The energy of the Aquarian Moon relates to our instinct for improvement. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional; interactions more impersonal than personal. We are likely to have an increased fascination with the new and unusual.
Social gatherings, anything connected with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas and methods, progress: all these are promoted during the time the Moon moves through Aquarius. Again: we have our eyes on the future -- or on outer space :-) Personal freedom becomes paramount.

Tuesday: the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius all day (see Monday evening for details).

Tuesday evening, a somewhat challenging Jupiter/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 8:16pm EST — for the second time within the past 5 months, due to Jupiter’s retrograde phase. This aspect started to make itself known last Wednesday already (Feb.11th); it will be strong until next week Thursday (Feb.26th). This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice… so we need to develop inner awareness.

Positive thinking is not going to heal everything: We are now called to learn more about our inner joy and about connecting from the heart. There is a particular emphasis on our beliefs around self-expression and creating from a confident, heart-centered place. At the same time, we feel the need to find time for compassionate and loving self-connection, healing our emotional and spiritual wounds through an inner awareness of unconditional love and faith.

By remaining flexible and making inner adjustments, we can bring clarity (rather than judgment) to both of those energies, and thereby explore them on a deeper level.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 15-17 degrees of Leo or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Sagittarius (Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius)

As Tuesday is also the last day before the New Moon becomes exact, this is a great day to let go of what no longer serves us. As best as you can, avoid jumping the gun: Rather than launching into brand-new endeavors or connections, wait until a couple of days have passed after the New Moon.

Some of us might feel a little anxious or nervous today: As best as you can, get quiet and go within… Listen to the silence between the sounds… Find peace in the connection with your innermost and truest Self.

Wednesday: the Moon stays in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, until 6:48pm EST (see Monday evening for details). Until the New Moon becomes exact later in the day, get quiet and go within, as best you can… Listen to the silence between sounds… Find peace in the connection with your innermost and truest Self.

Wednesday at 6:47pm EST: Another New Moon in Aquarius becomes exact; this one in 29 degrees, 59 minutes of Aquarius -- right at the threshold of Pisces. We are invited to go from identifying as a "member of the human race”, to oneness with all beings -- indeed, all of creation -- and to recognize many levels of reality and consciousness.

This aspect also invites us to surrender our mind and drop into our hearts. This allows us to see that everything is divine, everything is perfection, no matter how it may appear to our human mind.

The last five New Moons have been in an “exalted” degree of a sign and this one is no exception. Each one opens new pathways and possibilities -- it seems as though we are in a period of significant initiations. What’s more, this New Moon is also the second of six “SuperMoons" that we will experience this year. SuperMoons generate greater gravitational and electromagnetic forces and therefore increased effects on our physical and emotional bodies... This in turn facilitates greater shifts in consciousness.

All of this heightens the Aquarian energy of this New Moon, sending a powerful invitation to open ourselves up to “The New”, especially in the area of life that corresponds to the New Moon’s placement in our birth chart. What’s more, Mercury is no longer retrograde; as it moves through Aquarius it will accentuate this effect even more -- plus, it's easier to make changes we’ve been wanting to get to for the past 4 weeks…

Thinking outside the box is one thing, but this is an invitation to live there too — to make adjustments and find creative solutions as we go — flexibility is called for, as is departing from our “normal” routines. Where are you still holding on to the “old”? If you stepped off the beaten path, is it at least possible that you might find something truer to who you have become?

This New Moon forms in a very potent position: Exactly in the middle between Uranus and Pluto. This combines their energies into a release and resolution point.

The resolution in question is that of the final Uranus/Pluto square (exact on March 16th). It’s all about the shift from a solely intellectual understanding, to a deeper understanding that takes in our interconnectedness and interdependence with all things. This goes beyond “understanding” -- we are also learning to live from that place.

Watch for heightened intuition, imagination and other expanded states of consciousness around the time of the New Moon -- especially right after. If this New Moon had one message it would be: Love is all there is, everything else is an illusion or conditioning. As best as you can, be open to all, even your own conditioning, as it is part of the journey ;-) Feel free to watch my New Moon video -- will be posted by Tuesday the latest ;-)

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in one of the following placements: 27-29 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, Scorpio, or 0-2 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Gemini or Sagittarius? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly.

Of course, the New Moon also begins a new Lunar Cycle -- the perfect time for planting seeds and setting intentions for the next 28 days. This is best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact -- and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase. So this month, the best (i.e. most potent) time to set intentions would be between 6:48pm EST Wednesday and 6pm EST Thursday.

Within ten minutes after the New Moon becomes exact, the Moon, and then the Sun enter creative, compassionate Pisces. The Moon will journey there until Friday evening. The energy of the Pisces Moon bears on the need for connection to our higher selves. It can be a wistful, sensitive and compassionate time; we are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns.

Boundaries and walls come down; we feel energetically connected to everything around us. As best as you can, therefore, be kind to yourself and others -- surround yourself with loving energy. It's a time best used for spiritual or creative endeavors and for dissolving our fears and doubts. Feelings tend to flow more freely; as best as you can, let them ;-)

The Sun remains in Pisces until March 20th. This brings our awareness to our sense of oneness with everyone and everything around us. We feel like sponges, able to pick up all energy around us; this also makes us more sensitive and emotional. We are more drawn towards expressing ourselves in a creative or spiritual way.

Music or energy healing gives us vitality and can heighten our own personal vibrations.  We need to slow down a little and listen to our intuition more fully -- if we ignore our feelings and the subtle messages we are getting, we will most likely feel more anxious and somewhat frustrated. This could also be connected to the slow pace that our body or our surroundings are demanding of us.

The keyword here is "allowing": as best as you can, be aware of what you are resisting, moment to moment, and create some space -- allow it to be as it is. Notice when you are sensing someone else's feelings rather than your own.

All this is especially true if you are a Leo or Pisces Sun-sign or Rising-sign. As a Pisces, you will feel a good dose of confidence and playfulness in the next four weeks; as a Leo your vitality will depend on allowing things to flow and being gentle with yourself.

Thursday: the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day (see Wednesday evening for details).

The next Solar Eclipse will occur on March 20th, in 29 degrees of Pisces; on Wednesday night/Thursday very early morning EST, Mars moves over this same degree. Wherever 29 degrees of Pisces falls in our birth chart, we can expect something to begin (or be initiated) in the corresponding area of life. Pay attention... It's a preview of the Eclipse ;-)

Thursday morning, an opportune Mercury/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 8:06pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from last Sunday on; it will be strong until this Saturday.Due to Mercury’s retrograde phase, this is actually the third time we have experienced this aspect within the last six weeks. This is another opportunity to take responsibility for our thinking structures and be really honest with ourselves.

How can we get the most from this opportunity? It’s simple: Look for the larger truth. If we can go beyond what we have always known, we could get a helpful dose of reality — and an ability to focus on long-term issues. Since Mercury is retrograde, we may want to go within and check our inner parameters: What are we really trying to accomplish? What is reality showing us?

Remember, though: Opportunities are “openings”; they aren't necessarily handed to us -- we have to "take" them and make something of them.

Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 2-6 degrees of Aquarius, Sagittarius, Aries, Libra, or29 degrees of Capricorn, Scorpio, Pisces or Virgo? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Capricorn (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Saturn rules Capricorn)

Thursday at 6:02pm EST,we enter a 24-hour Moon void of course (VoC), which ends at 6:13pm EST (Friday evening). Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to do things that help you get connected to your higher Self. It’s also a great time for bringing a sense of flow and faith to your long-term plans. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new. Routine tasks work very well during this time -- and if at all possible, plan your day ahead of time…

Thursday at 7:11pm EST, Mars changes signs from sensitive, creative Pisces, to pioneering, enthusiastic Aries. Mars will journey through Aries until March 31st. Mars has an almost two year cycle;Mars last traveled through Aries in March/April 2013. Was there a significant new beginning for you back then?

For those next five and a half weeks, we will have a strong drive for fast forward motion; our first instinct is for action. Spontaneity is an asset, as are simplicity and innovation. We like the fresh start; there will very likely be new ideas, pioneering action and "fresh" projects abounding.

We enjoy challenges with this placement, so we are happy to take on something bigger than usual -- maybe a new, more demanding job or relationship. Our physical energy is great, but we may lose our initial enthusiasm quickly. We are not likely to beat around the bush now; a direct approach is definitely favored.

Things to watch out for: impatience; getting irritated by other people's indirectness; being insensitive to other people's needs or approaches.

Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries? If so, you will feel quite energized by this placement. Your physical energy will be tremendous, you are going to feel unstoppable. The only thing to watch out for: physical burnout.

Friday: the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces and VoC until 6:13pm EST (see Wednesday evening for details).

Friday at 3:05pm EST, Venus follows Mars from Pisces into Aries, where she will journey until March 17th. For the next three and a half weeks, we are going to feel passionate about connecting to others. We are ready to make a new start: if you are single this is your chance to start something new. If you are already in a committed relationship, you get a wonderful chance to bring freshness, fun and excitement to your bedroom and "other parts of the house" ;-)

With Venus in Aries, spontaneity and independence are important to us. We like a challenge, so don't make it too easy for others to win you over ;-) We also have more energy than usual; we are more likely to want to get out of the house and be active with others.

All this is especially true if you are a Taurus, Libra or Aries Sun-sign or Rising-sign. As an Aries, beauty and love will enter your life in the next three and a half weeks, you will feel more attractive and you will attract things to you. As a Taurus or Libra, you will feel more energized, passionate and direct than usual.

Friday at 6:13pm EST, the Moon also enters pioneering, fast-paced Aries, where it will journey until Sunday evening. The energy of the Aries Moon bears on starting something new. Our gut impulses are strong; we feel energetic, spontaneous, enthusiastic and brave -- and perhaps impatient and impulsive. Excess energy is best channeled into physical activity.

Saturday: the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries all day (see Friday evening for more details).

Today (Saturday) might be quite an electric, energetic (nervous) day for us. We may need to make some adjustments and think outside the box: Flexibility and adaptability is key today! Luckily, we'll have lots of energy all day, right up until the evening.

Saturday at 7:36pm EST, we enter an almost 24-hour Moon void of course (VoC), which ends at 7:28pm EST (Sunday evening). Use this intuitive time to have some fun, socialize and be true to yourself. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new. Routine tasks work very well during this time -- and if at all possible, plan your day ahead of time…

Sunday: the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries and VoC until 7:28pm EST (see Friday evening for more details).

Saturday night/Sunday very early morning (right around Midnight), a Venus/Mars alignment in Aries becomes exact. We started feeling it back on Feb. 13th — when Venus and Mars were still moving through Pisces -- and it will stay strong until Feb. 28th.

There are feminine energies (receiving/allowing/enjoying) and masculine energies (active/doing/asserting) within and around us. This Venus/Mars connection brings a new beginning between these energies: a marriage of courage and independence -- a new beginning of a courageous feminine energy being protected and reinforced by the masculine.

The last time we experienced this alignment was in April 2013: Was there a new beginning back then, in regards to your feminine and masculine energies? What has shifted for you since then? What is the inner feminine/Goddess saying to you now?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 0-4 degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer, Capricorn, or 21-29 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Gemini or Sagittarius? If so, you will be more affected by this alignment. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Aries (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Mars is the ruler of Aries)

Sunday at 7:28pm EST, the Moon moves into steady, peaceful Taurus, where it will journey until Tuesday night. With the Moon in Taurus, we seek serenity, security, peace, comfort: The Moon is at her most sensual and constant in Taurus.

Our basic impulse is to relax, resist change, get comfortable: Life… slows… down... We may also be stubborn and materialistic under this influence. As best you can, stop and smell the roses during this time -- enjoy life and its offerings ;-)

A head's up for next Monday: the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all day (see Sunday evening for more details).

If you set intentions on Wednesday or Thursday, right after the New Moon became exact, Monday will be a great time to take relevant actions. If you wrote your intentions down, go back and take another look at what came through intuitively. If you didn’t write anything down, get quiet for a moment and check in with yourself: What actions are calling to you?

Monday morning: A challenging Sun/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 8:56am EST. We started feeling this aspect build from Thursday night on; it will be strong until next week Wednesday night. We're asked to stretch, to grow beyond what we have known ourselves to be; we are urged out of our comfort zone, towards a higher truth with ourselves and others.

Find creative ways to honor your inner process. Connect to the peace within, even if that means slowing down, even if it means not knowing what might happen next. Would you rather have your old beliefs... or more peace and calm? What if you gave yourself permission to simply “be"? What if you just decided to trust divine timing?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 1-7 degrees of Pisces, Sagittarius, Gemini or Virgo? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Capricorn (the Sun rules Leo; Saturn rules Capricorn)

At 9:57pm EST,we enter a 26-hour Moon void of course (VoC), …more about that next week.

Have a good one!
Many blessings,
Sonja
