Last week was hectic and sometimes overwhelming: So much energy moving through… Wow -- it was exciting, a little scary -- and I also encountered some unexpected turns throughout the week. Flexibility was definitely key, as was breathing and being kind to myself.
This week's headline items: Tuesday starts the 10-day countdown to the Solar Eclipse; Mercury changes signs from Aquarius to Pisces on Thursday late evening; the last Quarter Moon in Sagittarius becomes exact on Friday afternoon; and Saturn starts its 5-month retrograde phase on Saturday late morning.
There will also be three Moon VoC phases this week: Monday morning until 9:10am EDT, Wednesday late afternoon (for almost 4 hours), and Friday evening (for 7.5 hours).
Monday: the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra and VoC until 9:10am EDT. At that time, the Moon moves into passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will journey here until Wednesday evening. We feel emotions on a deeply personal level.
We are motivated by the desire to get to the bottom of things -- superficiality won't work for us now -- and we instinctively read between the lines. The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power; it's an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. This tends to be an emotionally colored, all-or-nothing, black or white experience -- it can therefore be an intimate, passionate time.
As best as you can, avoid manipulation, brooding and suspicion; instead, open to the wealth of your innermost feelings -- decide to go deeper, allowing all feelings to surface, if they need to. Embrace all of who you are. Know thyself, love thyself and you shall be set free. Remember: a deep love of all that we are will connect us to the Power within; Fear causes "Force" to show up -- and is ultimately what disempowers ourselves and others.
Tuesday: the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day (see Monday morning for details).
Tuesday very early morning, a harmonious Mars/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 2:04am EDT. We started feeling this aspect from last Friday on; it will be strong until this Saturday. This aspect brings optimism, enthusiasm and expansion to our self-expression and creativity. Decisive action comes naturally with this aspect: We possess willpower and energy that we can direct toward going after personal goals.
It becomes easier for us to take risks and to explore new avenues. Positive attitudes help us to get unstuck and move forward through challenging situations and we have plenty of courage at this time. Use this aspect to take care of anything that seemed impossible in the past ;-)
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 11-17 degrees of Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Sagittarius (Mars is the ruler of Aries, Jupiter of Sagittarius).
I would also like to mention the upcoming Solar and Lunar Eclipse. An Eclipse is a consciousness upgrade. For 7 - 10 days before and after an Eclipse, we are usually in uncharted territory: anything is possible and it's wise to expect the unexpected. The upcoming Solar Eclipse will be exact, next week Friday, on March 20th (feel free to watch my video on the subject — will be posted by Friday evening).
Anything brand-new (and I really mean brand, brand-new) started during this time will likely not pan out the way we thought it would, often because important information comes to light only after Eclipse season is over. If possible, try to defer any major brand-new projects until after April 18th, when this Eclipse season is over. If something is beginning or ending in a way that seems organic… allow it to be.
Another Eclipse-related phenomenon: not only do Eclipses bring up uncertainty in us, they might also leave us nervous, anxious, unsettled and disoriented. As best as you can, observe your feelings and stay grounded in the "here and now". If you feel rushed into something, take a deep breath and connect to your heart, intuition and inner wisdom: They will carry you through.
Just like upgrading a computer, you will get all the information you need, as soon as the upgrade is complete -- so as best you can, be patient. This does not mean that we need to drop everything; it just means it's wise to check in with your higher Self -- do this whichever way feels right to you ;-) Remember: it's temporary.
Wednesday: the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio until 7:30pm EDT (see Monday morning for details).
Wednesday early afternoon, a Mars/Uranus alignment in 15 degrees of Aries becomes exact at 12:06pm EDT. We started to feel this alignment from last Saturday on; it will be strong until this Sunday. This connection brings a lot of nervous energy with it. We will most likely feel sudden spurts of energy moving through our bodies. This could make us rash in thought and action.
Please be extra conscious when driving. Do your best to channel the extra energy in a productive way: physical exercise is great, as is consciously breaking away from situations that have limited you. We may experience sudden insights about ourselves and our goals at this time. As best as you can, stay grounded and keep breathing regularly :-)
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 12-18 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn? If so, you will be more affected by this alignment. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Aquarius (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius)
Wednesday afternoon at 3:46pm EDT, we enter an almost 4-hour Moon void of course (VoC) that last until 7:30pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to make adjustments (and find creative solutions) around two contrasting needs: Your need for deep, intimate emotional connections, versus your desire to connect with like-minded people and share a vision that would improve life for many. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new. Routine tasks work very well during this time -- and if at all possible, plan your afternoon ahead of time…
Wednesday evening, a challenging Mars/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 6:41pm EDT. We started to feel this alignment from last Saturday on; it will be strong until this Sunday. Our ambition and drive to succeed are incredibly strong now; we feel prepared to go to any lengths, in order to achieve our goals -- and we have the required energy. It's a real need to achieve, a compulsion even -- we often find it difficult to stop.
This aspect could also lead to power struggles: We could find ourselves pushing for what we want from an authority figure, or an institution. Given that we want this at any cost, push could come to shove -- and then we're in a shoving match -- with Mars and Pluto involved, we may not know when enough is enough.
As best as you can, tap into the power of the love within. Find creative ways to empower yourself and others. Flexibility is key -- and walking away for 10 minutes might just save you from doing something you later regret ;-)
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 12-18 degrees of Aries, Capricorn, Cancer or Libra? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Scorpio (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Pluto rules Scorpio)
Lastly, also on Wednesday at 7:30pm EDT, the Moon moves into optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius, whereit will journey until Saturday very early morning. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. The Sagittarius Moon persuades us to come from intuition and think in a broader manner.
We seek meaning and ideas that expand upon the "here and now"; we pursue truth and a new vision -- the big picture, rather than the details. Spontaneity is key, we'd rather improvise than plan; this may tip into just "winging it". We could also overdo or overstate. This Moon placement starts the build up towards the last Quarter Moon (exact on Friday afternoon)
Thursday: the Moon remains inoptimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius all day (see Wednesday evening for details).
The first half of the day requires that we slow down a little and make some adjustments. Our head and our “intuitive body” may fight each other a little today: As best as you can, stay flexible and make room for both (mental exploration and intuitive sensing). We have lot of physical energy towards the second half of the day — we feel inspired and optimistic to move things forward.
Thursday at 11:52pm EDT, Mercury finally leaves freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, and moves into creative, compassionate Pisces. It will journey through this dreamy, creative sign until March 30th. We are moving from the mind into the heart. For these next two and a half weeks, we get a chance to communicate with compassion -- we see the commonalities between us all, rather than what separates us.
We seem to be connected to Source more easily during this time -- if we allow that energy to come through -- and our thinking will be very creative, imaginative and intuitive.
The key with this energy is to remain in the “here and now” and open up to a higher vibration. If we can do that, we will be able to download information from an intuitive place, rather than thinking things through. This could also be the reason why our mind is slowing down a bit and why we speak more softly.
Mercury in Pisces also offers us an opportunity to let go of any mental structures, conditionings or fears that are no longer serving us. If you are not connected to your intuition, you may want to double check with other people, before signing any documents or buying any big-ticket items. Are you ready to connect to your intuition more fully? Can you allow for the unfolding process, trusting your higher Self more fully?
Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Pisces? If so, you may feel more talkative during this time. Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo? If so, you may need to learn to surrender to a slower pace and connect more fully to your heart and intuition.
Friday: the Moon remains inoptimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius all day (see Wednesday evening for details).
Friday at 1:48pm EDT,the last Quarter Moon in almost 23 degrees of Sagittarius will be exact. The Moon in adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in sensitive, dreamy, compassionate Pisces. This may bring up some challenges. However, it also energizes us to look at what needs to be completed -- and what needs to be changed. This Moon phase brings us closer to the next New Moon, which is also a Solar Eclipse (March 20th).
With the last Quarter Moon, rather than starting major new projects, it serves us take a look at what was started around the time of the last New Moon -- in this case, around Feb. 18th. We now have about a week to wrap those projects up. What -- if anything -- needs last-minute adjustments? What did you discover since Feb.18th? What did it mean for you?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 21-25 degrees of Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini or Virgo? If so, you are more affected by this month's last Quarter Moon. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer, since the Sun rules Leo and the Moon rules Cancer.
Friday at 7:11pm EDT,we enter a 7.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC) that last until 2:40am EDT (Saturday very early morning). Use this intuitive time to explore new and exciting avenues within your relationships. It’s a great time to move things forward, as we have plenty of energy and excitement at our disposal. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow ;-)
Just as a head’s up, Saturn will come to a halt tomorrow (Saturday); it may feel as if our physical realities have done the same. As best as you can, bring flexibility and your open mind to any frustrations -- this is especially true today (Friday), over the weekend and on Monday. Take a deep breath whenever you can, as often as you can. If you can bring commitment and maturity to your thought processes on those days, you will feel more excited about life.
Saturday at 2:40am EDT, the Moon moves into practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn, where it will journey until Monday morning. The Capricorn Moon emphasizes our need for structure and forward planning. We are motivated by a desire for success; achievement and manifestation are paramount.
We are resourceful and pursue economy with time, energy, and other resources. We take things more seriously during Moon in Capricorn: we look reality in the eye. This can be a very productive period. As best as you can, avoid "should-ing" on yourself. Take the pressure off: try saying "I am doing the best I can and that's all I can ever do" ;-)
Saturn (ruler of Capricorn) is transiting through Sagittarius right now, making this a great time to explore our beliefs. It's also a great time to focus on the greater meaning of life and for going beyond conditioned thinking structures. As best as you can, be authentic about what you believe: Do your beliefs actually match your direct experience of life -- as it is for you now, not how it was 5 or 10 years ago?
The big event today (Saturday) is Saturn changing directions. It comes to a halt in almost 5 degrees of Sagittarius, then goes retrograde until August 2nd, during which time it will move back to 29 degrees of Scorpio. We will get very clear on what we are truly committed to -- and not to -- and on how we are living our lives, when it comes to our physical reality.
Our long-term goals may seem like they’re in the same dilemma that our physical realities are in: It’s as if they have come to a compete standstill. As best as you can, bring flexibility and open-mindedness to any sources of frustration, especially today (Saturday), tomorrow and Monday. Take a deep breath whenever you can, as often as you can. If you can bring commitment and maturity to your thought processes, you will feel more excited about life.
As I already mentioned last week, Saturn is our teacher. If you had a cosmic teacher, what would your personal "class" be in, right now? Where are you being asked to look at your beliefs and became more mature? What calls for a commitment towards a larger truth? What will time do?
Saturn represents our structures, responsibilities, commitments -- and our ability to "do" life on life's terms. When this planet comes to a halt and turns retrograde, we get to see where we need to create or renew our commitments. As best as you can, take it all in and see where you would like to make adjustments. You will get a chance to do just that for the next 5 months.
If you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 3-6 degrees of Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo or Pisces? You will be more affected by this station and retrograde-phase. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Capricorn (Saturn being the ruler of Capricorn).
Sunday: the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn all day (see Saturday very early morning for details). We have a strong focus on accomplishing things and getting down to business. As best as you can, refrain from getting too obsessed with anything... Take some breaks ;-)
We’ll also need to adjust and innovate when working with others, which might not be as easy as it sounds, as our drive to move forward is very strong -- we don’t want to be slowed down by anything or anyone. Remember that Saturn only just came to a halt yesterday, asking us very firmly to slow things down.
Our physical realities may feel like they have come to a compete standstill. As best as you can, bring flexibility and open-mindedness to any sources of frustration, especially today (Sunday) and tomorrow. Take a deep breath as often as you can. If you bring commitment and maturity to your thought processes, you will feel more excited about life.
Toward the end of the day (Sunday), we have an opportunity to connect our long-term goals to projects that are in alignment with our higher Selves. Remember: an opportunity is not automatically given to us, we have to "take" it.
A head's up for next Monday: The day starts with a 2-hour Moon void of course (VoC), from 4:02am until 6:14am EDT. If you’re awake at this time, you may be aware of two seemingly conflicting desires: A need for mature, diligent accomplismment and your love of rapid progress toward your goals. Use this intuitive time to make adjustments (and find creative solutions) when it comes to these desires. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow ;-)
A challenging Mercury/Saturn aspect will become exact at 5:41am EDT. We started feeling this aspect build from Saturday on; it will be strong until next week Wednesday. This aspect asks us to stretch a little, to grow and mature. Watch out for misunderstandings or feelings of restriction, when it comes to interacting with others.
On the one hand, Mercury in Pisces wants us to communicate from the heart, with love and compassion, and to have faith in our connection to the Universe/Source. On the other hand, Saturn in Sagittarius reminds us that before we can think about what we want to create or bring forth, we need to look at the larger picture and get to the core of what we believe life is truly about.
As best as you can, find creative ways to connect to your heart and intuition, while remaining committed to the exploration of your true beliefs. What is life really about? What is your life about?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 2-8 degrees of Pisces, Sagittarius, Gemini or Virgo? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Capricorn (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Saturn rules Capricorn)
At 6:14am EDT, the Moon moves into freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, where it will journey until Wednesday morning. The energy of the Aquarian Moon relates to our instinct for improvement. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional; interactions more impersonal than personal. We are likely to have an increased fascination with the new and unusual.
Social gatherings, anything connected with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas and methods, progress: all these are promoted during the time the Moon moves through Aquarius. Again: we have our eyes on the future -- or on outer space :-) Personal freedom becomes paramount.
In the late evening, the seventh and last Uranus/Pluto squareat 15 degrees of Aries and Capricorn becomes exact at 10:54pm EDT.Each of these squares has been an invitation for us all to make a giant step forward as individuals and collectively — we are ready for major changes in our own lives and on a global level. Reflect back to the previous six Uranus/Pluto squares: June 24th, 2012; Sept. 19th, 2012; May 20th, 2013; Nov. 1st, 2013, April 21st, 2014, and Dec. 15th, 2014.
These outer planets move more slowly through the sky and their influence is very powerful. We already started to feel the approach towards the first square way back in Spring of 2011, and even though this is the last exact square between these two powerful outer planets, we will be feeling their influence until mid May 2015 —and then starting back up again towards the end of the year, lasting until January 2016… More about this in next week’s forecast ;-)
Have a fantastic week!
