Last week was busy as hell. I could definitely feel that Mercury station in Gemini (especially from Wednesday on…)
This week's headline items: The New Moon in Taurus becomes exact very early Monday morning; Mercury comes to a halt that evening; on Thursday morning, the Sun changes signs (from Taurus to Gemini); and Mercury ends its station on Saturday.
There will also be four Moon VoC phases this week, three of them long: Monday very early morning (for a little over 5 hours), Tuesday afternoon (20 hours), Thursday evening (21 hours), and Sunday morning (21 hours).

Monday: the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus until 5:27am EDT. With the Moon in Taurus, we seek serenity, security, peace, comfort: The Moon is at her most sensual and constant in Taurus.
Our basic impulse is to relax, resist change, get comfortable: Life… slows… down... We may also be stubborn and materialistic under this influence. As best you can, stop and smell the roses during this time -- enjoy life and its offerings ;-)
On Monday at 12:13am EDT, the New Moon in 27 degrees of Taurus becomes exact, beginning a new Moon cycle. This New Moon in steady, peaceful Taurus brings our focus to our interactions with the physical world. Click here to watch my video on the subject.
We are looking to create a healthy relationship with “matter", in which we are neither too attached or too disconnected from our bodies, resources (such as money) and planet — in fact, we are invited to form a healthy attitude towards nature, money, and all of life.
We are powerfully reminded to take the time to honor the only planet we can currently live on — The Earth — to honor its resources and beauty. We are also invited to honor ourselves, our own bodies, and our talents.
Venus is the ruler of Taurus; it moves through Cancer at the time of the New Moon, asking us to not only honor ourselves and this planet, but also to nurture it: To take care of our physical and emotional bodies, to honor our feelings and our needs.
To bring all this together, ask yourself: How can I create more beauty in my life? More peace? What am I feeling? What do I need?
Venus in Cancer makes a Trine to Neptune in Pisces; this helps us to understand that we are all connected on a Soul level — energetically speaking we are all one. Whatever we do to another, or to this planet, we are ultimately doing to ourselves.
In the last two years, a profound conscious awareness has developed, that connects us to all that is alive. For the next 28 days, it will be helpful to access this awareness — and the best ways to do this are meditation, art, our dreams and intuition. Going beyond our five senses, and trusting our sixth sense will help open our hearts, eyes and minds.
Venus also squares the Moon Nodes. This marks a turning point in our journey towards a greater understanding of equality, fairness and collaboration. We become more aware of where we need to be more sensitive or patient, where we need to trust the process of co-creating with the universe.
Venus is also approaching an opposition with Pluto that will be exact on May 21st. This invites us to recognize our fundamental needs and take responsibility for nurturing and nourishing ourselves on all levels (physical, emotional, mental and spiritual). As best as you can, allow for the balance between accomplishing and nurturing yourself.
Venus is also approaching a square to Uranus (exact on May 25th). This asks us to stretch ourselves and change anything that our inner compass no longer points toward.
Questions you can ask yourself at this time: Am I living in the “right” place? Am I receiving as much as I’m giving? What is my Soul yearning for? What needs to change, so I can nourish and nurture myself more fully?
Mercury is starting its retrograde phase on the same day that the New Moon becomes exact; it will be retrograde until June 11th. Given this, its energy is quite exalted until then, powerfully reminding us to take a good look at any unhelpful conditioning or thinking patterns. During this time we are asked to stretch ourselves and, as best as we can, be very clear -- extra thorough, and in touch with our intuition.
This will support us over the next 28 days in re-thinking and releasing what no longer works, especially around communications, technologies, and anything connected to transportation. Think of it as an opportunity to upgrade those areas of your life.
To sum it all up: We are invited to look at where we are attached and disconnected regarding the physical world: how could we find a healthy balance with the things we value over the next 28 days? How can we nurture ourselves and feel more connected to our home, this planet?
The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month's Moon cycle. This is best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact -- and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase. So this month, the best time to set intentions would be any time between 5:27am Monday morning, and 1:57pm Tuesday afternoon (EDT).
Ask yourself: What am I holding on to, that no longer supports a healthy relationship with myself? With the physical world? Where am I getting attached out of fear for my safety or security (emotional or material)? Could it be that these attachments are holding me back from experiencing abundance? What if I allowed myself to be free of all attachments, just for a moment, just for right now -- just to see what would happen? ;-)
Do you have your Ascendant or any personal planets in 25-29 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo or Aquarius? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
Right when the New Moon becomes exact, we enter a 5-hour Moon void of course (VoC) phase that ends at 5:27am EDT. Use this intuitive time to be still. Connect to your body's wisdom -- pamper yourself and others. As best as you can, try to find new perspectives in regards to what you need most in order to feel nourished and nurtured. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow.
Monday at 5:27am EDT, the Moon moves into chatty, versatile Gemini, where it will journey until Wednesday morning. The Gemini Moon keeps us social and busy. Interactions may take place online, on the phone, or face-to-face with those in our immediate environment. With this Moon placement, we like to multitask and stay engaged with life as much as possible: As long as we don't get bored, we're good.
Mercury comes to a still stand Monday at 9:49pm EDT in 13 degrees of Gemini (starting its 3-week retrograde phase), slowing things down tremendously today and tomorrow. Give yourself extra time to go to work this morning or to get things done. If you are traveling today, just simply go with the flow… you'll get there... eventually ;-) The same is true when it comes to all our technological devices…
This retrograde phase will last until June 11th. People worry about Mercury retrogrades, but it’s important not to stop one's life during these times. As mentioned above, certain things may take longer -- but a retrograde gives us a chance to process information -- especially things that came up within the past three weeks. Take time to investigate your own thought processes: What feels too busy to you? What if you got really clear about that?
For the next three weeks, we get a chance to explore our inner dialog -- to connect from within to what we say to ourselves on a daily basis. It's also a chance to readdress communications with others, learning experiences, or conditioning from the past. This is an internal process -- a chance to honor and communicate our thoughts, working from the inside to the outside.
As always: with Mercury retrograde, always read the small print -- and re-read a contract before signing (if you have to sign something) -- or ask another person for a second opinion... Basically, during these periods, it's best to be aware of any details that we might have overlooked... and check in with our intuition... and stay open to the possibility of renegotiation or adjustments, down the line!
In general, Mercury Retrograde is a great time for reevaluating and reorganizing. This is especially true for our thought patterns and decisions (particularly those made in the 3 weeks prior to the start of the retrograde) -- but it's true of our lives in general: we can reach a clearer understanding as to what works, and what doesn’t, and what needs to change. Reconnecting with old friends, clients and family members (especially siblings) is also favored at this time …
Mercury also represents our day-to-day mind; this too is experienced more internally at this time. When it comes to communication, make sure that what you say, write and hear is the same as the intended meaning -- and use the spell-checker ;-)
Another thing to take into consideration: how does each Mercury retrograde phase affect your personal birth chart. Do you have any personal planets that Mercury will align with during its retrograde journey? The houses of your chart each represent different areas of your life -- which of the houses in your chart is affected by this retrograde?
As with any retrograde, some of us will be more affected than others, depending on how it interacts with our personal chart. That will be true if any of the following apply to you: Gemini or Virgo as your Sun- or Rising-Sign (Ascendant) -- or your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 4-13 degrees of Gemini, Sagittarius, Pisces or Virgo.
Tuesday: theMoon remainsin chatty, versatile Gemini all day (see Monday morning for details). With Mercury having gone retrograde yesterday, we may need to slow things down a little, tapping into a more intuitive place for all interactions. Rather than initiating new contacts, consider reconnecting with old friends or former business associates; likewise, it’s also best to revisit conversations from the past three to four weeks, rather than starting new ones.
Tuesday at 1:57pm EDT, we enter a 20-hour Moon void of course (VoC) that ends at 9:56am EDT (Wednesday morning). Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to get in touch with your inner vision for life and share it with like-minded people. As always during a VoC, don’t start anything brand-new; as best as you can, go with the flow. Routine tasks work very well during this time.
Wednesday at 9:56am EDT, the Moon moves into protective, introverted Cancer, where it will journey until Friday afternoon. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say to (and about) us, so be kind to yourself and others.
Emotional safety is important to us at this time: We like connecting to the familiar, home or family becomes our sanctuary. Nurture yourself and others, but remember: Make sure your glass is filled before letting others drink from it — otherwise we might start resenting others for draining our energies.

Thursday: the Moon remains in protective, introverted Cancer all day (see Wednesday morning for details).
Thursday at 4:45am EDT, the Sun changes signs from steady, sensual Taurus to versatile, fast-thinking Gemini. It will journey through Gemini until June 21st. With the Sun in Gemini, the urge for self-expression is strong. We may be extra interested in collecting and sharing information. This is a time when curiosity and adaptability are favored. We are more flexible, changeable and adaptable -- which makes us quite social as well.
We enjoy intellectual conversations and we can easily become bored if we are not getting enough mental stimulation at this time. We are more objective and observant, but prefer to keep things light and easy. There is usually a nervousness in the air at this time as well, as we are constantly seeking to connect and have new interactions. “Sharing” is the name of the game.
All this is especially true if you are a Leo or Gemini Sun-sign or Rising-sign. As a Gemini, you will feel a good dose of confidence and playfulness in the next four weeks; as a Leo your vitality will most likely speed up and you feel more chatty than usual.
Thursday at 8:36pm EDT, we enter a 21-hour Moon void of course (VoC) that ends at 5:42pm EDT (Friday afternoon). Use this intuitive time to make some adjustments in your life. As best as you can, find creative solutions to seemingly unsolvable situations.
We’ll be drawn to brainstorming with like-minded people about new, unusual ways of doing things, expressing our unique spark directly and openly. We’ll also very likely desire time with family, and safe emotional connections to others; as best as you can, make room for both. As always during VoC, take it easy, go with the flow, and avoid starting anything brand-new -- if at all possible, plan Thursday evening and Friday ahead of time.
Thursday evening, a Venus/Pluto opposition becomes exact at 9:57pm EDT. We started to feel this opposition from Monday on; it will be strong until Sunday. We are called to create a balance between our desire for harmony with people we care about, versus our desire to bring a deep focus and passionate approach to long-term commitments.
We can learn a lot about ourselves through relationships during this opposition. We may not always like what we see though: We may glimpse our "darker" side -- and it will be critical that we recognize it as our own "stuff", rather than projecting it onto a partner or family member. Sexual intensity or attraction can be a part of this transit too -- as can fear of losing loved ones or of being abandoned.
We have a deeply lodged need to establish a sense of self-worth at this time; we may start to argue or lay blame in order to feel better about ourselves. We need to be less concerned with how we "appear" to others and more with how we actually "are". All of this could bring up deep feelings in connection with others.
There also might be a tendency to confuse "Love" and "Power" right now; as best as you can, be true to yourself and come from an open heart, rather than a scared one. This aspect is also part of a T-square with Uranus, so we are going to feel some tension here... but also quite energized. As best as you can, think outside the box and focus on cooperation, collaboration and win-win solutions.
Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 12-18 degrees of Cancer, Capricorn, Aries or Libra? If so, you may be more affected by this opposition. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Scorpio (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Pluto rules Scorpio)
Friday: the Moon remains in protective, introverted Cancer and VoC until 5:42pm EDT (see Wednesday morning and Thursday evening for details). At that time, the Moon moves into fun and attention-loving Leo, where it will journey until Monday early morning. We have a chance to appreciate ourselves and our lives -- and to connect to the heart. Hand out as many compliments as possible, they will be deeply appreciated :-)
Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones. What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you squeak just thinking about it?
If you set intentions on Monday or Tuesday (after the New Moon became exact), from Friday on, after 5:52pm EDT,will be the best time to take relevant actions. If you wrote your intentions down, go back and take another look at what came through intuitively. If you didn’t write anything down, get quiet for a moment and check in with yourself: What actions are calling to you?
Friday late evening, a Sun/Saturn opposition becomes exact at 9:35pm EDT. We are called to balance our own pleasures with the emotional requirements of others. We started to feel this opposition from Tuesday on, it is strong until Monday of next week. As best as you can, give yourself permission to be playful, joyful and creative, while taking care of your responsibilities and commitments.
We may experience a lack of energy or confidence. Some sort of buckling down is necessary at this time; this could be perceived as limitations arising from people or circumstances. Mental blocks are possible at this time, as is a general feeling of "slowdown".
That said, we can also take this time to sort out our life, improve our work, and become more efficient. If things or people leave our life, the connection was likely weak -- or they somehow no longer serve a healthy purpose in our life. Go slow and steady; pushing too hard will backfire.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 29 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo,Aquarius or 0-5 degrees of Gemini, Sagittarius, Virgo or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this opposition. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Capricorn (the Sun rules Leo; Saturn rules Capricorn)
Saturday: the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo all day (see Friday late afternoon for details).
Saturday starts out with lots of opportunities to get things done and move exciting projects forward -- but by the early afternoon, we begin to feel uneasy. We need to develop inner awareness around our sensitivities and bring compassion to them. In the afternoon and early evening, we have an opportunity to communicate our heart’s desire, and connect with others from the heart.
Towards the later evening, we are also being asked to bring some awareness to whatever it is we feel most passionate about -- as in the early afternoon, we feel an internal unease. Are we after laughter and joy? Or intense and authentic emotion? As best as you can, make adjustments as needed, and drop any self-judgment.
Running in parallel with the above, we are also being asked to bring awareness to our deepest commitments; and likewise, this brings a sense of internal dissonance or unease. Fun or Business? Follow your bliss or long-term goals? Again, as best as you can, make adjustments as needed, without judging yourself.
Sunday: the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo all day (see Friday late afternoon for details).
Sunday at 6:50am EDT, we enter a 21-hour Moon void of course (VoC) that ends at 4:52am EDT (Monday morning). Use this intuitive time to connect from the heart to like-minded people and allow your unique spark to be seen. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow, and avoid starting anything brand-new (if at all possible, plan your day ahead of time).
The day starts out full of enthusiasm and optimism -- we feel strong and full of energy. By the late morning though, we may need to make some internal adjustments, allowing ourselves to heal our insecurities by bringing love and understanding to old wounds. That said, throughout the day, lots of great connections and ideas are possible.
A head's up for next Monday: the Moon moves into detail-oriented, practical Virgo at 4:52am EDT, where it will journey until Wednesday of next week; in the afternoon a challenging Venus/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 1:09pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Friday on; it will be strong until next week Thursday morning.
The first Quarter Moon in 4 degrees of Virgo becomes exact at 1:19pm EDT; in the evening, a challenging Mars/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 7:38pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Thursday on, it will be strong until Saturday morning of next week… more about all that in next week’s forecast ;-)
Have a fantastic week!
