Last week was really diverse. The common theme was fun and relaxation :-) There was also some healing that happened in the process...

This week's headline items: Saturn’s station intensifies on Wednesday (it will come to a complete halt on Sunday). The Full Moon in Aquarius becomes exact on Friday and Venus (now retrograde) moves back into Leo, also on Friday.

There will also be three Moon VoC phases this week: Tuesday late morning (for 5 hours), Thursday afternoon (for almost 3 hours), and Saturday evening (for 30 minutes).

Monday: the Moon remains inoptimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius all day. It will journey there until Tuesday afternoon. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. The Sagittarius Moon persuades us to come from intuition and think in a broader manner.

We seek meaning and ideas that expand upon the "here and now"; we pursue truth and a new vision -- the big picture, rather than the details. Spontaneity is key, we'd rather improvise than plan; this may tip into just "winging it". We could also overdo or overstate.

Monday evening, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 7:06pm EDT. This could contribute either to some mental confusion and spaciness, or a need to express ourselves creatively with our imagination (but possibly not knowing how to). We started to feel this aspect from Sunday evening on; it will be strong until Tuesday evening.

This aspect operates more on an internal level: We feel uneasy about something, sort of "awkward" -- and we need to make a choice. Sometimes, imagination and mind can run way ahead of what is actually feasible (and sensible). At these times, the grand vision is best served by focusing on the next concrete step, accepting our own idiosyncrasies as we go.

Honesty is crucial here, especially self-honesty; inner awareness is in turn crucial to deep honesty and authenticity. What's true for you? What might be possible for humanity? Where do those overlap?

Note that I say "overlap": Don't look for an exact fit, this is more like two puzzle pieces that came from different jigsaw puzzles. You might keep looking at the imperfect fit and feel a nagging sense that something doesn't make sense… but it doesn't -- it can't. The pieces are not from the same game. Just do your best to "hang out" with the discomfort, rather than repeatedly trying to figure it out and fix it.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 8-10 degrees of Leo or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Pisces (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Neptune rules Pisces)

Tuesday: the Moon remains inoptimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius until 2:47pm EDT (see Monday for details).

Tuesday at 9:36am EDT, we enter a 5-hour Moon void of course (VoC) that last until 2:47pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to have an adventure — perhaps something physically challenging, yet fun. If nothing else, think bigger -- step outside of your usual environment, so you can see things from a different perspective. As always during a VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new.

Tuesday at 2:47pm EDT, the Moon moves into practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn, where it will journey until Thursday afternoon. The Capricorn Moon emphasizes our need for structure and forward planning. We are motivated by a desire for success; achievement and manifestation are paramount.

We are resourceful and pursue economy with time, energy, and other resources. We take things more seriously during Moon in Capricorn: we look reality in the eye. This can be a very productive period. As best as you can, avoid "should-ing" on yourself. Take the pressure off: try saying "I am doing the best I can and that's all I can ever do" ;-)

Wednesday: the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn all day (see Tuesday afternoon for details).

Wednesday late evening, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 11:21pm EDT. We started feeling this aspect yesterday morning (Tuesday); it will be strong until Thursday evening. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice… so we need to develop inner awareness.

Our compulsive side may lead us down a path that evades rational understanding. Our judgments -- of circumstances, ourselves, others -- can be so extreme that we aren't able to make intelligent and consistent progress in our life right now.

As best as you can, strive to be more trusting and less strict with yourself for these three days. Surrender to whatever you are experiencing right now: It is temporary ;-)

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 12-15 degrees of Leo or Capricorn? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Scorpio (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio)

Also on Wednesday,Saturn’s station intensifies -- it is slowing down even more, before coming to a complete halt on August 2nd in 28 degrees of Scorpio. It is getting ready to move forward again, after its 4.5-month retrograde phase. We will feel its effects of this station until Aug. 8th. Anything connected to Saturn’s energy will come into our awareness quite strongly; we have to face what this planet is trying to communicate to us.

Saturn is about facing reality -- and doing what needs to be done -- so we can fully understand the practical implications of our reality and the consequences of our past actions. Saturn also represents our structures, responsibilities, commitments and ability to "do" life on life's terms.

As spirit beings in a physical world, it's best to observe the laws of the physical world. The sooner we learn to "play by the rules", the easier life gets. Saturn also represents time and the "domain" of time: growing up, maturing, understanding our limitations, setting healthy boundaries with others, living with integrity, being serious and focused on building something of purposeful value to society.

Saturn is our teacher. If you had a cosmic teacher, what would your personal "class" be in, right now? Where are you being asked to face your fears and became more mature? What calls for a deeper commitment? What will time do? As best as you can during the time of the station, bring flexibility and open-mindedness to any frustrations.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 26-29 degrees of  Scorpio, Taurus, Leo, Aquarius, or0 degrees of Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this station. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Capricorn, since Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn.

Thursday: the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn until 5:40pm EDT (see Tuesday afternoon for details).

Thursday at 2:50pm EDT, we enter an almost 3-hour long Moon void of course (VoC) that last until 5:40pm EDT. This is an intuitive time that presents an opportunity to do some research and bring awareness to what you are manifesting long-term. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new. Routine tasks work very well during this time.

Thursday at 5:40pm EDT, the Moon moves into freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, where it will journey until Saturday early evening. The energy of the Aquarian Moon relates to our instinct for improvement. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional; interactions more impersonal than personal. We are likely to have an increased fascination with the new and unusual.

Social gatherings, anything connected with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas and methods, progress: all these are promoted during the time the Moon moves through Aquarius. Again: we have our eyes on the future -- or on outer space :-) Personal freedom becomes paramount. This Moon placement starts the build up towards the Full Moon (exact on Friday morning).

Friday at 6:43am EDT, the Full Moon becomes exact in 8 degrees of Aquarius. As mentioned, the entrance of the Moon into Aquarius on Thursday morning started the energetic build up towards the Full Moon. This Full Moon in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius opposes the Sun in fun-loving, expressive Leo.

This Full Moon is the second Full Moon in July, therefore it is referred to as a "Blue Moon". The word “month” is derived from the same root as the word “moon” — but the “Julian” calendar used in the West doesn’t align very closely to the moon phases. Sometimes, this results in a “Blue Moon”. Note that Blue Moons have no astrological or energetic impact -- it doesn’t matter which calendar month a Full Moon falls in.

For the next two weeks, we’ll be looking for balance and integration between two opposing energies; we are more aware than everthat something is out of alignment. The balance in question is between the energies of Leo and Aquarius

Leo symbolizes the expression of our own individual light, our unique gifts, our inner spark of the divine. Aquarius, on the other hand, symbolizes the power of community, and collaboration to bring about a common vision. You could say that Leo represents our individual self-expression and Aquarius our vision for humankind. So how to achieve that balance?

This Full Moon shows us that each one of us has the capacity to be an agent of change, that can make a difference in the world and create a better future for all of us on this planet. It's important to realize that our future is in our hands -- and our vision calls on us to express our talents full out.

What’s more, when we join forces with like-minded people, we accomplish much more than we could on our own: Synergy and innovation arise when we come together to move towards a better future. What are your special talents? Where are you being called to make a difference? Where might your people be found?

Saturn comes to a halt in 28 degrees of Scorpio, only 2 days after this Full Moon becomes exact, ending it’s yearly retrograde phase. In the past four-and-a-half months, we got a chance to reassess our limits and boundaries, reclaim our power and authority, and become more realistic and responsible. It’s time to move forward now -- and our progress will be in direct proportion to the amount of “inner work” we’ve done since mid-March.

Saturn also squares Jupiter in Leo at the time of the Full Moon. We are being asked to reconcile our beliefs with our long-term goals. We are invited to reach for the sky with our feet on the ground. We need to focus and prioritize (and set healthy boundaries) while keeping our heart open and staying connected to our inner joy.

Where do you still give your power away? What if joy were fuel for long-term planning? Where would you shine your light, if it were supposed to be truly seen? What is worth living for? Dying for?

Uranus and Venus started their retrograde phases only one week prior to this Full Moon, so their energies are still exalted during it, placing an emphasis on what we value, and on what needs to change if we are to make progress. The retrogrades mean we access these energies from the inside out.

Venus also makes a conjunction with Jupiter in Leo; this opens our eyes and hearts to new possibilities. Humor and romance play a big role in our interactions with others in the next two weeks, as do tolerance, generosity and playfulness.

To sum it all up: this Full Moon asks us to “be ourselves”, contribute our gifts and find our tribe, all while being authentic and kind. What actions can you take that support the higher vision?

If you’d like to learn more about this Full Moon, I’ll be posting a related video by Thursday evening: click here to watch

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in one of the following: 6-10 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus or Scorpio? If so, you are more affected by this month's Full Moon. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign inLeo or Cancer(the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

Friday at 11:27am EDT: Venus (now retrograde) moves back into fun and attention-loving Leo, where she will journey until Oct. 8th. We are more inclined to have fun now and socialize with others. We don't need to stay home anymore: it's time to get out and take some risks, have some fun, express ourselves.

With Venus in Leo we love to be admired and adored -- we love to feel special. Giving out compliments works very well during this time. We relate to others from our heart and we love to be seen as generous and loving. Love and affection are very important during this time, so give as much of those as possible and it shall all be returned to you a thousandfold ;-)

Note that with Venus being retrograde, we need to approach all those things from the inside out. This could take the form of reflecting on what brings us joy, how much fun we actually have in our lives, how much we can relate to this “inner child” energy. Are you loving and generous with yourself? What role does “romance and fun” play in your life?

Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra? If so, you will feel more outgoing and confident for the period Venus moves through Leo. Your heart will want to connect and be admired. Creative endeavors will feel satisfying to you. If you are a Leo Sun-sign or Rising-sign, you are going to have more love and beauty in your life for as long as Venus is in your sign.

Saturday: the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius until 6:36pm EDT (see Thursday afternoon for details).

Saturday afternoon, a somewhat challenging Sun/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 2:24pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Friday morning on; it will be strong until Sunday night. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed if we’re to see what needs adjusting.

Our energy tends to be directed unrealistically right now. Our sense of self may change as we learn that we wrongly assessed important situations. Due to our high ideals, we may take on more than we can physically handle -- if we feel drained or frustrated at this time, it might be helpful to look at our overall direction in life to see if this is the case.

It is also worthwhile to look for how our ideas are being received by others: Can we involve them in our dreams? As best as you can, slow down: "If a thing is worth having, it's worth waiting for."

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 8-10 degrees of Leo or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Pisces (the Sun rules of Leo; Neptune rules Pisces)

Saturday at 6:02pm EDT, we enter a half hour Moon void of course (VoC) (it lastsuntil 6:36pm EDT). Use this intuitive time to balance your need for life improvements with your desire for socializing and fun — might there be a way to combine them? As always with a Moon VoC, go with the flow as best you can, and stick to routine things ;-)

Saturday at 6:36pm EDT, the Moon moves into creative, sensitive Pisces, where it will journey until Monday evening. The energy of the Pisces Moon bears on the need for connection to our higher selves. It can be a wistful, sensitive and compassionate time; we are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns.

Boundaries and walls come down; we feel energetically connected to everything around us. As best as you can, therefore, be kind to yourself and others -- surround yourself with loving energy. It's a time best used for spiritual or creative endeavors and for dissolving our fears and doubts. Feelings tend to flow more freely; as best as you can, let them ;-)

Sunday: the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day (see Saturday evening for details).

Saturday night/Sunday very early morning at 1:53am EDT, Saturn comes to a halt, preparing to turn direct again. After being retrograde for 4.5 months, Saturn begins the process of turning direct, by coming to a halt at 28 degrees of Scorpio. As best as you can, bring flexibility and open-mindedness to any sources of frustration, especially on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. If you bring commitment and maturity to your interactions on those days, you will feel more empowered.

Saturn represents our structures, responsibilities, commitments -- and our ability to "do" life on life's terms. When this planet comes to a halt, we get to see where we need to create or renew commitments. It may also seem like our physical realities have come to a compete halt: Take a deep breath whenever you can, as often as you can (especially today and tomorrow).

Capricorns, Aquarians (whether by Sun-sign or Ascendent) and people with personal planets in 26-29 degrees of Scorpio, Taurus, Leo or Aquarius, or 0 degrees of Sagittarius, Gemini, will feel a sense of relief as Saturn starts speeding up again. Moving forward with our long-term goals will be easier now, as we have more clarity: We can integrate what we have learned over the past 5 months and more easily align our inner commitments and goals with the outer world.

Sunday late morning, a harmonious Mercury/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 10:50am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Friday on; it will be strong until Tuesday of next week. This aspect supports a connection between our higher mind and our day-to-day mind. We are able to receive inspiration from higher places and maybe even look into the future. We are able to communicate our vision for a better future; insights arise from these communications.

This is an opportune time for the following: meetings and other organized group activities; communicating online, activities involving computers, scientific projects, and/or metaphysics. Our intuition is strong: original, creative insights and ideas come "out of the blue". As best as you can, stay open to these "downloads" -- they might change how you see life ;-)

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 17-24 degrees of Leo, Aries or Sagittarius? If so, you will feel especially blessed by this connection. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Aquarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius)

A head's up for next Monday: the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces until 7:24pm EDT (see Saturday evening for details); a long-lasting, challenging Jupiter/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 6:36am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from July 18th on; it will be strong until Aug. 18th; we also enter a 3-hour Moon void of course (VoC) at 4:35pm EDT… more about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)

Have a fantastic week!
Many blessings,
Sonja

Facing Certain Realities — Astrology Forecast for Mon., July 20th - Sun., July 26th, 2015

Please note that all times given below are Eastern Daylight Saving Time -- to change the listed times to your own timezone, I recommend clicking here for the time and date converter

Last week was lots of fun; I had a great need for rest as well. “Old” stuff from the past surfaced and wanted to be released. It felt very cleansing. Not surprising considering we had that Mars/Pluto opposition last week and the Venus/Jupiter conjunction in Leo, with Venus stationing (and therefore exalted).

This week's headline items: On Tuesday, we can start to take action on last week’s New Moon Intentions. The Sun changes signs from Cancer to Leo on Wednesday late evening; Mercury follows the Sun into Leo on Thursday morning; the first Quarter Moon in Scorpio becomes exact on Friday; Saturn starts its station on Friday night (getting ready to move forward again next week); Venus come to a complete halt on Saturday morning and Uranus does the same on Sunday morning (both turning retrograde).

There will also be three Moon VoC phases this week: Tuesday morning (for almost 3.5 hours), Thursday afternoon (for almost 8 hours), and Sunday morning (for a little over 3 hours).

Monday: the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day. It will journey there until Tuesday morning. This turns our focus toward practical activities. Solving problems, making order out of confusion, helping others: all of these bring emotional satisfaction.

Health matters might come into focus. We notice the parts that make up the whole; this is a great time to look at our daily routines (eating, work, self-care, etc.), to see if they are in alignment with our long-term goals.

On Monday, we can potentially accomplish quite a bit: The Moon in Virgo will be making a harmonious aspect to Pluto in Capricorn. Virgo and Capricorn are Earth signs, so getting down to business and focusing on the task at hand takes less effort than normal.

Monday afternoon: We are asked to seek a balance between our need for perfection (or at least improvement) and our emotional insecurities. However we achieve that balance, it’s a great time for healing old wounds. We may need to forgive ourselves and others for being human. What if making mistakes (or being less than perfect) was the best thing that ever happened to any of us?

On Monday evening, we have an opportunity to communicate our feelings and needs in ways that support the improvement of our daily routines or health.

Tuesday: the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo until 9:23am EDT (see Tuesday early morning for more details).

If you set intentions last week Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, right after the New Moon became exact, from Tuesday early morning on is a great time to start taking relevant actions. If you wrote your intentions down, go back and take another look at what came through intuitively. If you didn’t write anything down, get quiet for a moment and check in with yourself: What actions are calling to you?

Tuesday at 6:07am EDT, we enter an almost 3.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC) which lasts until 9:23am EDT. Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to gain clarity, be of service, and focus on deeper, more authentic relationships with yourself and others. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new.

Tuesday morning, a harmonious Sun/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 7:07am EDT. We’ve been feelingits effects from last Saturday and will feel them through this Friday. We feel grounded and stable, have common sense at our disposal, and are willing to look reality in the eye and take responsibility for our lives (especially in regards to our feelings and needs). It's easy to stick to a specific task and make progress.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 25-29 degrees of Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces, or 0/1 degree of Leo, Sagittarius or Aries? If so, you will be most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Capricorn (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn).

Tuesday at 9:23am EDT, the Moon moves into harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra, where it will journey until Tuesday evening. The energy of the Libra Moon wants to maintain equal relationships: we thus tend to spend more time on diplomacy -- making compromises, negotiating, practicing graciousness, balancing, etc.

We can better set aside our emotions, to achieve the peace we desire; the shadow side of this is a tendency to avoid direct confrontations. We see both sides -- and may also fear loss of approval -- so we can't decide. As best as you can, find your inner balance with this... and communicate what needs to be said with grace and charm.

Wednesday: the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra all day (see Tuesday morning for details).

Wednesday afternoon, a harmonious Mercury/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 1:51pm EDT -- we started to feel this aspect from Tuesday on; it will be strong until Friday morning. With this aspect it helps to bring integrity and commitment to our interactions. We can make concrete, practical plans in service of our deeper desires and needs.

We get "to the point": no time or words wasted. Seeking deeper connection, we speak our truth, but with adult caution and moderation. The reality of our intimate connections becomes more clear -- and we are able to process our feelings and thoughts more realistically.

Wednesday evening, at 11:30pm EDT, the Sun changes signs from sensitive, protective Cancer to fun-loving, extroverted, expressive Leo, where it will journey until Aug. 23rd. With the Sun in Leo we are more inclined to connect to our heart and to follow our joy. This is a great time for gratitude, compliments, connecting to being playful.

For the most part, children have a wonderful Leo quality: they are creative, playful, self-expressed and they follow their heart. Who could you be if you lived from your "inner child" more fully?

If you have a Leo Sun-sign or Rising-sign, this means that your vitality will be strong -- after all, for some of you, this is your birthday month ;-) Happy Birthday! <3

Thursday: the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra until 10:07pm EDT (see Tuesday morning for details).

Thursday at 8:14am EDT, just as the Sun, Mercury -- the energy of communication -- also changes signsfrom sensitive Cancer to fun-loving Leo. It will journey there until August 7th. During this cycle, we are more expressive -- even theatrical -- and are also more convincing and persuasive, since we exude confidence when we speak or write.

Our mind is more able to connect to our heart, so we tend to feel generous and expressive. This is a great time for gratitude, compliments, connecting to your inner joy and being playful. The only thing that can come between you and your heart is pride; do your best not to put it there.

Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo? If so, you will feel the need for being self-expressed and playful more strongly. If you have a Leo Sun-sign or Rising-sign, you will be more chatty for the next 2 weeks.

Thursday at 2:12pm EDT, we enter an almost 8-hour Moon void of course (VoC) which lasts until 10:07pm EDT. Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to collaborate with others and bring a new level of optimism to your “game”. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new. If possible, plan your afternoon/evening ahead of time, or stick to routine things.

Thursday afternoon, a Sun/Mercury alignment in 0.5 degrees of Leo becomes exact at 3:24pm EDT. We started feeling this aspect build from last Sunday on; it will be strong until this Saturday. When the Sun and Mercury come together, we are especially sharp, communicative, and open. This aspect indicates a confident mind and an analytical approach to life. Intelligence and communication abilities are strong at this time; however, we may not listen as well as the other speaks -- we might be too busy thinking about what to say next.

In general, we have a strong need to take an active role in communications -- it is very hard for us to passively listen and absorb information right now. What we say or write now has impact, so as best as you can, choose your words wisely. If people hung on your every word, what would you say then? What would you hold back from saying?

We may be particularly busy/scattered during this time; it may not always be of service to us to take on too much: Choose wisely.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 0-3 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus, Scorpio or 27-29 degrees of Cancer, Capricorn, Aries or Libra? If so, you will be more affected by this alignment. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo, Gemini or Virgo (the Sun rules Leo; Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo)

Thursday at 10:07pm EDT, the Moon moves into passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will journey until Sunday morning. We feel emotions on a deeply personal level. We are motivated by the desire to get to the bottom of things -- superficiality won't work for us now -- and we instinctively read between the lines.

The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power; it's an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. This tends to be an emotionally colored, all-or-nothing, black or white experience -- it can therefore be an intimate, passionate time. As best as you can, avoid manipulation, brooding and suspicion; instead, open to the wealth of your innermost feelings -- decide to go deeper, allowing all feelings to surface, if they need to.

Embrace all of who you are. Know thyself, love thyself and you shall be set free. Remember: a deep love of all that we are will connect us to the Power within; Fear causes "Force" to show up -- and is ultimately what disempowers ourselves and others. This Moon placement starts the build up towards the first Quarter Moon, exact Thursday night/Friday very early morning…more on that later…

Friday: the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day (see Thursday late evening for details).

Thursday night/Friday very early morning at 12:04am EDT, the first Quarter Moon becomes exact, in 1 degrees of ScorpioWe start to feel this aspect from the moment the Moon enters Scorpio on Thursday late evening. The Moon in passionate, intimate, all-or-nothing Scorpio makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in playful, attention-seeking, self-expressed Leo

We feel compelled to take action. Last week saw the New Moon, on July 15th. If we began a project or initiative around then, it is probably off the ground by now -- and facing its first obstacles. This is therefore a time to stretch and grow -- and create some forward momentum. We may feel anxious or unusually busy. As best as you can, take it one breath at a time. Allow for changes, remain flexible and find creative solutions in your day-to-day interactions with others.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in any of the following: 0-3 degrees of Scorpio, Leo,Taurus, Aquarius or 29 degrees of Libra, Cancer, Aries or Capricorn? If so, you will feel the effects of this first Quarter Moon more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

Friday night, Saturn starts to slow down (station), preparing to come to halt on August 2nd in 28 degrees of Scorpio. It is getting ready to move forward again, after its 4.5-month retrograde phase — and will move more slowly for 14 days. Between now and Aug. 8th, anything connected to Saturn’s energy will come into our awareness quite strongly; we have to face what this planet is trying to communicate to us.

Saturday: the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day (see Thursday late evening for details).

Saturday at 5:29am EDT, Venuscomes to a halt in almost 1 degree of Virgo. This starts Venus's retrograde phase, which lasts until Sept.6th. This brings any relationship, self-worth and financial issues to the forefront -- and we’re ready for all these things to come out into the open.

It’s also asking us to reevaluate our daily routines and relationship to the “inner child”. This is a great time for resolving financial or relationship issues: We are going to get the chance to take a real good look at what we value in others, within ourselves, and in our world.

Here are some questions to contemplate during the retrograde phase: Do I value my relationships with colleagues? If not: What’s missing? Do my daily routines align with my values? Am I able to fully express my joy and creativity? What is my current relationship to my “inner child”?

The station lasts until Aug.5th, until then, we can expect our focus to be drawn to what we have (and what we lack). This is especially true with regard to the following: Our work, romantic relationships and in regards to fun. As best as you can, listen and take it all in.

Is your Sun sign or Ascendant in Taurus or Libra? Or do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 0-2 degrees of Virgo,Pisces, Gemini, Sagittarius or 14-29 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus or Scorpio? If so, you will feel more affected by this Venus retrograde phase.

Saturday morning, a challenging Mars/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 5:43am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Monday on; it will be strong until Wednesday of next week. This aspect asks us to get in touch with our desires and break away from anything that is holding us back. Passions and anger that we may not even know we had may emerge at this time.

Uranus urges us to let go and express ourselves more fully. We may feel restless and impatient; we can be very demanding and difficult to please. We tend to feel like progress is too slow and we are tired of waiting. This is a possibly explosive time, a rebellious urge within us presents an emotional challenge.

On the other hand, if we are the kind of person that doesn't go in for asserting themselves, this is an excellent time to try it out ;-) Do your best not to burn all your bridges, especially with any males in your family or at home. We may also experience an "awakening" of sorts in regards to our sexuality.

Accidents are unusually likely (though not inevitable), especially if our activities and our energy levels are erratic. To avoid accidents, stay as grounded as possible and keep breathing! Flexibility and open-mindedness is helpful.

Do you have your Ascendant or personal planets in 17-24 degrees of Cancer, Aries, Libra or Capricorn? If so, you will feel the effects of this aspect more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Aquarius (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius)

Sunday: the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio until 8:24am EDT. (see Thursday late evening for details).

Sunday early morning, a harmonious Mars/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 4:06am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Tuesday of last week on; it will be strong until Thursday of next week. This gives us a chance to learn to accept our own desires and feelings of anger as valid -- so that when we do express them, we express them naturally and with confidence.

How can you bring understanding towards your feelings of anger and your assertiveness? How can you embrace and honor your desires?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 18-24 degrees of Cancer, Pisces or Scorpio? If so, you will be most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries (Mars is the ruler of Aries)

Sunday at 5:14am EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC) for a little over 3-hours (until 8:24am EDT). Use this intuitive time to connect with others and yourself on a deep emotional level. Focus on emotional authenticity. This is a great time for very deep inner work. As best as you can, face your fears and take responsibility for all that you are: the good, the bad and the ugly ;-) As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new.

Sunday at 6:38am EDT, Uranus comes to a halt in 20.5 degrees of Aries and turns retrograde for the next 5 months. During the Uranus retrograde phase we are invited to access the Uranus energy from within. Our intuitions will be very strong during this time and we have access to sudden insights and ideas. This gives us the opportunity to take a look to see how free we actually feel.

Are we expressing our individuality to the fullest? Are we connecting to a larger vision for our future? Is anything holding us back?

Again, some of us will feel the effects more than others. This is particularly true if you have personal planets in 16-21 degrees of Aries -- and if you have Aquarius as your Sun- or Rising-Sign. For you in particular, this is a great time to reevaluate future goals -- and perhaps to reexamine any group causes that you want to be a part of.

Sunday at 8:24am EDT, the Moon moves into optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius, whereit will journey until Tuesday afternoon.

A head's up for next Monday: the Moon remains inoptimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius all day (see Sunday morning for details). In the evening, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 7:06am EDT.….more about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)

Have a fantastic week!
Many blessings,
Sonja

Intense Connections -- Astrology Forecast for Mon., July 13th - Sun., July 19th, 2015

Please note that all times given below are Eastern Daylight Saving Time -- to change the listed times to your own timezone, I recommend clicking here for the time and date converter

Last week started out a little shaky, but from Wednesday on, things took on a nice relaxing flow... Might have been Mercury moving into Cancer... plus that Neptune/Mars trine... ;-)

This week's headline items: Two planetary stations intensify (Uranus and Venus -- the latter also changes signs). The New Moon in Cancer becomes exact on Wednesday and there will be three 3-hour Moon VoC phases (Monday late evening, Thursday morning, Saturday afternoon).

Monday: the Moon remains in curious, versatile, chatty Gemini all day. It will journey there until Tuesday very early morning. The Gemini Moon keeps us social and busy. Interactions may take place online, on the phone, or face-to-face with those in our immediate environment. With this Moon placement, we like to multitask and stay engaged with life as much as possible: As long as we don't get bored, we're good.

Monday afternoon, a harmonious Mercury/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 3:14pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last Saturday evening on; it will be strong until this Tuesday evening. This aspect supports imaginative thinking and the ability to connect our day-to-day mind with our intuition.

We can easily sense the thoughts and feelings of others, and we are adaptable in our communications, as we pay attention to how our words are received. We have the ability to express ourself with sensitivity at this time. We have an appreciation for photography, the arts, poetry, fiction and spirituality now. We are also more open to metaphysical or spiritual concepts.

Do you have any of your personal planets or Ascendent in 6-13 degrees of Cancer, Pisces or Scorpio? If so, you will be most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Pisces (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Neptune rules Pisces).

Monday in the late evening, a harmonious Sun/Chiron aspect becomes except at 10:53pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last Friday on; it will be strong until this Thursday; It creates a supportive environment for healing our insecurities. We can bring greater awareness to feelings of shame and self-deprecating thoughts. We have the chance to shine, largely because we are projecting ourselves with self-respect and modesty, at the same time.

We have a sense of purpose or "mission”; this brings confidence. The desire to learn and grow through experiences (and through others) is strong. This is also a great time to recognize that our so-called flaws and insecurities have become some of our best assets and strengths. Where is this true for you?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career point (or one or more personal planets) in 18-24 degrees of Cancer, Pisces or Scorpio? If so, you will be most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo (as the Sun rules Leo)

Lastly also on Monday at 11:31pm EDT, we enter an almost 3-hour Moon void of course (VoC) which lasts until 2:14am EDT (Tuesday very early morning). If you are not asleep, use this intuitive time as an opportunity to express yourself fully and communicate with others, seeking balance and fun. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow.

Tuesdayat 2:14am EDT, the Moon moves into protective, introverted Cancer, where it will journey until Thursday late morning. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say to (and about) us, so be kind to yourself and others. Emotional safety is important to us at this time: We like connecting to the familiar, home or family becomes our sanctuary.

Nurture yourself and others, but remember: Make sure your glass is filled before letting others drink from it — otherwise we might start resenting others for draining our energies.

Tuesday very early morning, a challenging Venus/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 2:48am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last Tuesday on; because of Venus’s station & retrograde phase, we will feel it until Aug. 10th. This asks us to stretch ourselves and grow beyond who we know ourselves to be in our relationships. We need to face our fears and step up our game.

Responsibilities and commitments to intimate partners could be questioned. As best as you can, find creative ways to be admired by others, without violating any commitments that you made. This is not the best time to start a brand-new, romantic relationship.

In regards to our finances, this aspect brings an eye-opening experience -- as long as we can find brave ways to deal with our money issues, we will grow from this experience. The key: approach things with your heart and maturity.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 26-29 degrees of Leo, Scorpio, Taurus or Aquarius, or 0-2 degrees of Virgo, Sagittarius, Gemini or Pisces? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Capricorn (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn)

Wednesday: the Moon remains in protective, introverted Cancer all day (see Tuesday early morning for more details).

Wednesday late morning, a Mars/Pluto opposition becomes exact at 10:12am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last Friday on; it will be strong until Sunday evening. Our ambition and drive to succeed are incredibly strong now. We'll do almost anything to achieve our goals… and we have the energy.

That said, our basic drive and energy could ram up against emotionally charged questions of security (or deep insecurity) and power. We might not feel like dealing with some of the deeper issues that keep springing up, perhaps around our accomplishments in the world, or with family and home.

We are driven by a compulsive need to achieve, find it hard to stop: As best as you can, find your balance between home/family and career/long-term goals. Make sure to take care of your inner needs, so you can accomplish real transformation in the outer world.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 11-17 degrees of Cancer, Capricorn, Aries or Libra? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Scorpio (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Pluto rules Scorpio)

Wednesday evening, a Mercury/Pluto oppositionbecomes exact at 7:40pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Tuesday morning on, it will be strong until Friday morning. This might bring up some very deep issues that need to be discussed. Obsessive thinking, attempting to persuade others, insisting on knowing the "truth" or exposing lies: These are all possibilities now.

We are capable of very hard work and effort. In particular, we tend to pursue ideas with intensity, making this an excellent time for any kind of research or in-depth study. We may not be able to put our inner thoughts and experiences into words -- and maybe that's as well, given the darkness and intensity of those thoughts.

We may develop a great love of debate. We need to be careful though, not to overpower others with our strong opinions, attempting to "convert" them to our frame of mind -- in other words, treating regular debates or exchanges of opinion as battlegrounds. This is great time to learn how to harness our intense mental energies and apply them productively.

Intense conversations and connections feel more real than superficial ones. We want to dig out the truth about our feelings and the world we have built. As best as you can, try not to obsess about what someone said to you, or what you've heard: We may takes things personally, that were actually meant to empower us. Here's what it comes down to: Could you allow yourself to go deeper and tap into your inner power?

As best as you can, take it one moment at a time. Seek to resolve any issues through collaboration and co-operation with others. Keep an objective point of view, as much as possible. When you notice that you are taking things personally and starting to get defensive, take a deep breath and ask yourself: Is this really about me? Or is this about my past issues, or theirs? How can I ground myself in the here and now?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 11-17 degrees of Cancer, Capricorn, Aries or Libra? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Scorpio (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Pluto rules Scorpio)

The New Moonwill be exact Wednesday evening at 9:24pm EDT.The Moon aligns with the Sun in 23 degrees of Cancer. This is the beginning of a new Moon cycle. With the New Moon in protective, introverted Cancer, we look for quality and safety in what we want to create and surround ourselves with. We experience life in a deeper, more instinctual way.

The metaphysical "element" of water is as essential to our spiritual survival as its material namesake is for our physical. “Water” corresponds to our feelings — and both need to flow -- just like its physical counterpart, when emotional “water” gets stagnant, it breeds dis-ease. Life then continues at a very low vibrational setting. Cancer is the first water sign of the zodiac; it relates to the development of the “emotional body”. With this New Moon, we are ready to deepen our understanding of our emotional needs.

Our feeling nature has been denied and suppressed for millennia; we have begun to embrace it more fully. Feelings are an essential source of information. When we listen to them, we learn our true needs, what is healthy for us. When we don’t, we become dependent on others for validation and direction, or get lost in addictions and other distractions.

Here's some coaching questions you can ask yourself for this New Moon: What are the optimal conditions for my growth? Am I rooted in the right place? What feeds the blossoming of my being?

Mercury and Mars align in 14 degrees of Cancer at the time of the New Moon, making an exact opposition to Pluto in Capricorn. We are being asked to be completely honest with ourselves and others, unearthing any deep, unresolved emotional issues.

This also calls for the deepening of our emotional intelligence -- the ability to understand, communicate and act appropriately in accordance with our feelings. We rarely ask ourselves: What do I feel in this moment? For these next two weeks, allow yourself to inspect your feelings. Are they connected to something that is happening in the “now-moment”, or to something from the past? In order words: is it historical?

In addition, Venus and Uranus are stationing at the time of the New Moon; this emphasizes what we value (including self-value) and what still needs to change if we are to make progress.

This New Moon wants you to reclaim and integrate all the parts of yourself that were “poopoo'd” by society or your family of origin. As best as you can, embrace all of your feelings and nurture yourself: Be the healthy parent to your inner child, your own best friend. Never be ashamed of letting your feelings shine a light into this world! You may also want to watch my New Moon video on the subject

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in one of the following placements: 21-25 degrees of Cancer, Capricorn, Libra or Aries? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month's Moon cycle. Intentions are best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact -- and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase. So this month, the best time to set intentions would be any time between 9:24pm on Wednesday evening and 7:24am EDT on Thursday morning; and then again from 10:15am on Thursday until 9:24pm EDT on Friday evening (I will also post reminders via my Facebook Fan-page and twitter ;).

Last but not least, the Uranus station — that I already mentioned in last week’s forecast — is intensifying today (Wednesday). Uranus will come to a halt on in 20.5 degrees of Aries (on July 26th) -- starting its 5-month retrograde phase -- and will move more slowly for three weeks thereafter. Between now and Aug. 11th, anything connected to Uranus's energy will come into our awareness quite strongly: We have to face what this planet is trying to communicate to us.

Uranus is all about breaking away from traditional structures, moving towards a new future, one that serves others as well as ourselves. Keyword: Freedom. We might have flashes of insight, or new ideas about what needs to change in our lives; definitely expect the unexpected.

Uranus also rules electronics, technology and the internet, so don't be surprised if you experience some interruptions or short-term failures in these areas. Group activities are also ruled by Uranus, so these too will be more at the forefront of awareness. As best as you can, stay open and flexible, go with the flow -- and pay attention to those messages from the Universe ;-)

Is your Sun-sign or Ascendant in Aquarius? Or perhaps you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 18-22 degrees of Aries, Libra, Capricorn or Cancer? If so, you are more affected by this station.

Wednesday night/Thursday very early morning, a Mercury/Mars alignment in 14.5 degrees of Cancer becomes exact at 12:14am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Monday on, it will be strong until Friday evening. This alignment might speed up our thinking. We communicate with curiosity, enthusiasm and energy, especially on food, family, real-estate, self-care, our home, our past -- and things we are familiar with. We get to the very heart of a subject.

Something to be aware of: We may take things a little too personally. This defensiveness could make it challenging for others to engage in healthy dialogue with us. We may focus too much on emotional safety and get attached to being right rather than happy. As best as you can, take care of yourself, honor your feelings and relax: All good things come to those who contemplate ;-)

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 11-18 degrees of Cancer, Capricorn, Libra or Aries? If so, you will feel this alignment quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Aries (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Mars rules Aries).

Thursday at 7:24am EDT, we enter an almost 3-hour Moon void of course (VoC) which lasts until 10:15am EDT. Use this intuitive time to nurture yourself/others and satisfy your need for deep, intimate emotional connections. If at all possible though, refrain from actually starting anything brand-new — in fact, plan your morning ahead of time, or stick to routine things. If you can't… simply go with the flow.

Thursday at 10:15am EDT, the Moon moves into fun and attention-loving Leo, where it will journey until Saturday evening. We have a chance to appreciate ourselves and our lives -- and to connect to the heart. Hand out as many compliments as possible, they will be deeply appreciated :-)

Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones. What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you squeak just thinking about it?

Friday: the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo all day (see Thursday late morning for details).

Friday is filled with enthusiasm and optimism -- we feel strong and energized, nothing gets us down. Have some fun, socialize, let your inner child come out and play, be spontaneous… Just be aware: we may also need to make some inner adjustments around sensitivities and our focus on building long-term goals.

Also on Friday, Venus’s station intensifies. As I already mentioned in last week’s forecast, Venus’s movement through the sky appears from Earth to be slowing down; it’s getting ready to come to a halt in 0 degrees of Virgo and turn retrograde (for 6 weeks) on July 25th.

The station brings all relationship, self-worth and financial issues to the forefront. This stationing period lasts until Aug. 5th, bringing into focus what we do and don’t have; until then, we are more aware of our relationships or the lack thereof. This forces us to look at who we value (including ourselves) and at what is truly important to us long-term.

It’s important to pay attention to any messages we get for those areas, because when Venus goes retrograde, we’ll get a chance to address these issues from the inside out.

Is your Sun sign or Ascendant in Taurus or Libra? Or do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 28/29 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus or Scorpio, or 0/1 degree of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini or Sagittarius? If so, you will feel a stronger connection to this Venus station.

Saturday: the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo until 8:47pm EDT (see Thursday late morning for details).

Saturday afternoon at 5:41pm EDT, we enter a 3-hour Moon void of course (VoC) which lasts until 8:47pm EDT. We are experiencing two quite different needs, pulling us in different directions. On the one hand, we have a need for fun and feeling self-expressed. On the other hand, we need to focus on our inner experiences — and take responsibility for who we are deep down.

Use this intuitive time to make adjustments and find creative solutions when it comes to these energies. If at all possible, refrain from starting anything brand-new; plan your evening ahead of time or stick to routine things. If nothing else…simply go with the flow.

Saturday at 6:38pm EDT, Venus changes signs from playful, fun-loving Leo to detail-oriented, practical Virgo for a brief period, as she will be going retrograde shortly after entering Virgo. Thereforeshe will journey there only until July 31st (and then again from Oct. 9th on until Nov. 9th). For the next 2 weeks, our relationships are going to be put under the magnifying glass. We are more likely to want to make our relationships work in real terms.

We need to feel of service to others; we love to help, especially in a practical, down to earth kind of a way. This might also be a great time to acknowledge the people in our lives who take care of those little, daily details and make our lives easier :-)

On a social level, we might be more shy during this time -- less confident -- and most likely too busy to uphold our social commitments. On the financial side of things, we may want to invest in our health -- especially around healthy daily routines -- and anything that makes life run more smoothly on a practical level.

Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra? If so, you will feel more shy and possibly busier than usual for the next 2 weeks. Your heart will want to be of service to others. Being healthy and having a healthy partner is important now. If you are a Virgo Sun-sign or Rising-sign, you are going to have more love and beauty in your life for as long as Venus is in your sign.

Saturday at 8:47pm EDT, the Moon moves into detail-oriented, practical Virgo, where it will journey until Tuesday morning.

Saturday evening, a challenging Mercury/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 9:07am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Friday on, it will be strong until Monday morning. This aspect creates some tension in our lives: We may feel anxious or stressed by a situation or an interaction with family, or something to do with the home/real-estate.

It's a time when we want to think outside the box. We may want to bring some changes to a life situation or emotional connection that no longer fits. Again: We are being called to play a bigger game; our minds may feel overwhelmed by what it all means. Our minds may be influenced by our feelings about a certain situation -- and we could have an irritable temper.

It might be best to channel some of our nervous energy into constructive pursuits. Since we might have a tendency right now to challenge established thought, or play devil's advocate, it helps to get in touch with our own opinions and feelings, to reflect on what we truly believe. If we learn to trust our own individual thoughts, our intelligence, integrity, and ingenuity can come shining through.

As best as you can, take it one moment at a time, collaborate and cooperate, stay objective (rather than jumping to conclusions). Get grounded in the here and now through your breath and the awareness of your body.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 17-24 degrees of Cancer, Aries, Capricorn or Libra? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Aquarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Uranus rules Aquarius)

Sunday: the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day (see Sunday evening for details).

Sunday morning, a harmonious Mercury/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 6:09am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Friday on, it will be strong until Monday morning. This aspect is a wonderful possibility for deep emotional healing in regards to our conditioning and day to day thinking structures.

We can bring compassion, for ourselves and others, to emotionally "difficult" communications. We are able to allow more for the flow of feelings as we share ourselves; forgiveness and understanding towards ourselves and others comes more easily now in general.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 18-24 degrees of Cancer, Pisces or Scorpio? If so, you will be most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo).

A head's up for next Monday: the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day (see Sunday evening for details).….more on all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)

Have a fantastic week!
Many blessings,
Sonja
