Choose Love! — Astrology Forecast for Mon., July 6th - Sun., July 12th, 2015

Please note that all times given below are Eastern Daylight Saving Time -- to change the listed times to your own timezone, I recommend clicking here for the time and date converter

Last week was an interesting mix of busy yet calm. I felt very present and optimistic -- I have to say, I really enjoyed it. I must have been feeling that beautiful Neptune/Sun aspect and the Venus/Jupiter alignment in Leo.

This week's headline items: on Monday, the Sun squares the degree of April 4th's Lunar Eclipse. Mercury changes signs from Gemini to Cancer on Wednesday afternoon; Uranus starts to slow down, getting ready for it’s retrograde phase on Thursday, and Venus will do the same on Sunday. Also on Sunday: the Balsamic Moon phase begins.

In addition, there will be three Moon VoC phases this week: Tuesday late morning (for 2 hours), Thursday morning (6 hours), and Saturday late afternoon (almost 2.5 hours).

Monday: the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all dayIt will journey there until Tuesday early afternoon. The energy of the Pisces Moon bears on the need for connection to our higher selves. It can be a wistful, sensitive and compassionate time; we are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns.

Boundaries and walls come down; we feel energetically connected to everything around us. As best as you can, therefore, be kind to yourself and others -- surround yourself with loving energy. It's a time best used for spiritual or creative endeavors and for dissolving our fears and doubts. Feelings tend to flow more freely; as best as you can, let them ;-)

Monday late morning, a Sun/Pluto opposition becomes exact at 11:38am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last Thursday on; it will be strong until this Thursday morning. This opposition is all about "empowerment versus disempowerment". On an interpersonal level, we may try to gain more control over other people, or they may try to gain control over our actions. A balance needs to be struck, between our focus on family/home issues, and our obsession with work/career issues.

The transit will test our ambitions: How well have we planned our course of action? How hard have we worked in the past? How efficient have we become? Our energy is high now, it needs to be directed into constructive channels, rather than expended in reckless rebellion. If we are in a position of authority, we mustn't expect others to keep up with our fast pace: We may feel like driving ourselves past the breaking point, but employees or co-workers will rebel if we push them.

On a deeper level though, we can use this time to gain control over our own actions: The challenge here is to understand why we do something in a particular way, instead of repressing those traits we don't like. We are called to bring hidden facets of our character to the surface, so we can examine and understand them, then make appropriate changes. If you find yourself wanting to take an aggressive approach, try for an assertive one instead -- the first comes from fear, the second from love -- and as always, as best as you can, choose love rather than fear, no matter what the situation.

Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 11-17 degrees of Cancer, Capricorn, Aries or Libra? If so, you may be more affected by this opposition. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Scorpio (the Sun is the ruler of Leo; Pluto rules Scorpio)

Also on Monday, the Sun squares the degree of the Lunar Eclipse that occurred back on April 4th. Watch for important insights and developments today: It’s a turning point for us and brings more clarity as to where things need to go next. It’s time to act on what we have learned since that April 4th Eclipse.

Tuesday: the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day (see Monday for details).

Tuesday at 10:36am EDT, we enter a 2-hour Moon void of course (VoC) which ends at 12:38pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to connect with others and yourself on a deep emotional level. Focus on emotional authenticity. This is a great time for very deep inner work. As best as you can, bring a sense of flow and trust to your fears/attachments and have compassion for all that you are: the good, the bad and the ugly ;-) As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new.

Tuesday at 12:38pm EDT, the Moon moves into pioneering, fast-paced Aries, where it will journey until Thursday afternoon. The energy of the Aries Moon bears on starting something new. Our gut impulses are strong; we feel energetic, spontaneous, enthusiastic and brave -- and perhaps impatient and impulsive. Excess energy is best channeled into physical activity. This Moon placement starts the build up towards the last Quarter Moon (exact on Wednesday afternoon).

Tuesday late evening, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 10:19pm EDT. This will contribute either to a lack of mental energy or a need to focus on our commitments with others. We started to feel this aspect from Tuesday early morning on; it will be strong until Wednesday night. This aspect operates more on an internal level: We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice.

The sheer scope of our goals in life can require more effort than is immediately obvious. Hard work can take its toll on our health. If we partition our big ideas into achievable segments -- and go one clear action step at a time -- we can move forward while maintaining inner peace and outer health. Use your time wisely! Develop the inner awareness needed, so you can see what needs adjusting.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 28/29 degrees of Gemini or Scorpio, or 0 degrees of of Cancer or Sagittarius? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Capricorn (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Saturn rules Capricorn)

Wednesday: the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries all day (see Tuesday early afternoon for details).

Wednesday at 2:52pm EDT, Mercury moves from curious, quick-witted Gemini into protective, nurturing Cancer. It will journey there until August 7th. During these next 4 weeks, we move from quantity to quality, in terms of the information we are attracted to.

We think, speak, and take in information on a deeper, more instinctive level. We have less interest in the universal, more in the personal: what directly affects us and our loved ones? Our thoughts are colored by our emotions; it might be more challenging to be objective. Ask yourself: Is this really about me?

This is particularly true if you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo. You will feel a stronger need to connect to family or the people  in your life that feel familiar and safe. You may also feel the need to talk about the past and work through past conditionings. If you are a Cancer Sun-sign or Rising-sign, you will be more chatty for the next 4 weeks.

Wednesday at 4:24pm EDT, the last Quarter Moonin 16 degrees of Aries will become exact. The Moon in enthusiastic, fast-pasted Aries makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in introverted, feeling-oriented Cancer. This may bring challenges; however, it also energizes us to face what demands completion or transformation. This Moon phase brings us closer to July 15th's New Moon.

During the last Quarter Moon, we are better served by reviewing those projects we began around the last New Moon -- in this case, that would be June 16th -- as opposed to launching new ones. Out of those projects, what needs last-minute adjustments? What did you discover since then? What did it mean for you? As best as you can, find creative solutions for anything that comes up (whether internally, or with others).

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 14-18 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn? If so, you will feel this month's last Quarter Moon quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer, since the Sun rules Leo and the Moon rules Cancer.

Wednesday evening, a harmonious Mars/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 6:42pm EDT. We started feeling this aspect build from last Saturday on; it will be strong until next week Wednesday (July 15th). This aspect brings the ability to endow what we feel passionate about with our creativity -- and connect it to a higher love.

Our masculine energies are able to connect to compassion and understanding. We can now release past issues; through loving ourselves, we can release emotional blockages and the lower vibrations of the masculine: aggression, domineering, destructiveness, me-first attitudes.

As this aspect is taking place in Cancer and Pisces, we are connecting to our goals and dreams from an emotional place that is deeply spiritual. We are able to let go of our fears and attachments and are able to have faith that everything will turn out just as it needs to.

Those of us who have their Ascendent (or personal planets) in 7-13 degrees of Cancer, Pisces or Scorpio will be touched in a particularly beautiful way by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Pisces (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Neptune rules Pisces)

Thursday: the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries until 3:49pm EDT (see Tuesday early afternoon for details).

Thursday at 9:47am EDT, we enter a 6-hour Moon void of course (VoC) which ends at 3:49pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to have some fun with friends or loved ones. See if you can tap into your inner child and really enjoy yourself. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new.

Thursday at 3:49pm EDT, the Moon moves into steady, peaceful Taurus, where it will be until Saturday evening. With the Moon in Taurus, we are motivated by the desire for serenity, security, peace and comfort. The Moon is at her most sensual and constant in Taurus.

Our basic impulse is to relax, resist change, get comfortable: life… slows… down. We may also be stubborn and materialistic under this influence. As best as you can, stop and smell the roses during this time -- enjoy life and its offerings ;-)

Also on Thursday, Uranus starts to slow down. It will come to a halt on in 20.5 degrees of Aries (on July 26th) -- starting its 5-month retrograde phase -- and will move more slowly for three weeks thereafter. Between now and Aug. 11th, anything connected to Uranus's energy will come into our awareness quite strongly: We have to face what this planet is trying to communicate to us.

Uranus is all about breaking away from traditional structures, moving towards a new future, one that serves others as well as ourselves. Keyword: Freedom. We might have flashes of insight, or new ideas about what needs to change in our lives; definitely expect the unexpected.

Uranus also rules electronics, technology and the internet, so don't be surprised if you experience some interruptions or short-term failures in these areas. Group activities are also ruled by Uranus, so these too will be more at the forefront of awareness. As best as you can, stay open and flexible, go with the flow -- and pay attention to those messages from the Universe ;-)

Is your Sun-sign or Ascendant in Aquarius? Or perhaps you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 18-22 degrees of Aries, Libra, Capricorn or Cancer? If so, you are more affected by this station.

Friday: the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all day (see Thursday afternoon for details).

Slowing down a little and going with the flow will serve us today (Friday). Towards mid-afternoon, we may get a little obsessed with getting things done, but not to worry: Things will move smoothly for the most part. As best as you can, allow yourself to connect to Mother Earth and enjoy life and its offerings ;-)

Saturday: the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus until 8:16pm EDT (see Thursday afternoon for details).

Saturday at 5:52pm EDT, we enter an almost 2.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC) which ends at 8:16pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to balance your need for physical stability and peace with your focus on emotional authenticity and depth. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new.

Saturday at 8:16pm EDT, the Moon moves into chatty, versatile Gemini, where it will journey until Tuesday very early morning . The Gemini Moon keeps us social and busy. Interactions may take place online, on the phone, or face-to-face with those in our immediate environment. With this Moon placement, we like to multitask and stay engaged with life as much as possible: As long as we don't get bored, we're good.

Sunday: the Moon remains in curious, versatile, chatty Gemini all day (see Saturday evening for details).

Sunday morning, we enter the Balsamic Moon phase: this lasts until Wednesday of next week, when the New Moon in Cancer becomes exact (…more on that next week). We are being asked to slow down and get quiet, so we can listen to our intuition. For some of us, this might be a stretch. As best as you can: stay grounded, take a deep breath and exhale any tensions.

Rather than starting something brand-new, put all that energy into completing existing projects. This is also a great time for letting go of whatever no longer serves us. What if you could hear the voice of your inner wisdom? What might it be saying?

Also on Sunday, Venus is starting its station: The planet’s movement through the sky appears from Earth to be slowing down; it’s getting ready to come to a halt in 0 degrees of Virgo and turn retrograde (for 6 weeks) on July 25th.

The station brings all relationship, self-worth and financial issues to the forefront. This stationing period lasts until Aug. 5th, bringing into focus what we do and don’t have; until then, we are more aware of our relationships or the lack thereof. This forces us to look at who we value (including ourselves) and at what is truly important to us long-term.

It’s important to pay attention to any messages we get for those areas, because when Venus goes retrograde, we’ll get a chance to address these issues from the inside out.

Is your Sun sign or Ascendant in Taurus or Libra? Or do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 28/29 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus or Scorpio, or 0/1 degree of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini or Sagittarius? If so, you will feel a stronger connection to this Venus station.

A head's up for next Monday: the Moon remains in curious, versatile, chatty Gemini all day (see Saturday evening for details). In the afternoon, a harmonious Mercury/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 3:14pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Saturday evening on; it will be strong until Tuesday evening of next week.

In the late evening, a harmonious Sun/Chiron aspect becomes except at 10:53pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Friday on; it will be strong until next week Thursday; and at 11:31pm EDT, we enter an almost 3-hour Moon void of course (VoC).….more about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)

Have a fantastic week!
Many blessings,
Sonja
