Facing Certain Realities — Astrology Forecast for Mon., July 20th - Sun., July 26th, 2015

Please note that all times given below are Eastern Daylight Saving Time -- to change the listed times to your own timezone, I recommend clicking here for the time and date converter

Last week was lots of fun; I had a great need for rest as well. “Old” stuff from the past surfaced and wanted to be released. It felt very cleansing. Not surprising considering we had that Mars/Pluto opposition last week and the Venus/Jupiter conjunction in Leo, with Venus stationing (and therefore exalted).

This week's headline items: On Tuesday, we can start to take action on last week’s New Moon Intentions. The Sun changes signs from Cancer to Leo on Wednesday late evening; Mercury follows the Sun into Leo on Thursday morning; the first Quarter Moon in Scorpio becomes exact on Friday; Saturn starts its station on Friday night (getting ready to move forward again next week); Venus come to a complete halt on Saturday morning and Uranus does the same on Sunday morning (both turning retrograde).

There will also be three Moon VoC phases this week: Tuesday morning (for almost 3.5 hours), Thursday afternoon (for almost 8 hours), and Sunday morning (for a little over 3 hours).

Monday: the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day. It will journey there until Tuesday morning. This turns our focus toward practical activities. Solving problems, making order out of confusion, helping others: all of these bring emotional satisfaction.

Health matters might come into focus. We notice the parts that make up the whole; this is a great time to look at our daily routines (eating, work, self-care, etc.), to see if they are in alignment with our long-term goals.

On Monday, we can potentially accomplish quite a bit: The Moon in Virgo will be making a harmonious aspect to Pluto in Capricorn. Virgo and Capricorn are Earth signs, so getting down to business and focusing on the task at hand takes less effort than normal.

Monday afternoon: We are asked to seek a balance between our need for perfection (or at least improvement) and our emotional insecurities. However we achieve that balance, it’s a great time for healing old wounds. We may need to forgive ourselves and others for being human. What if making mistakes (or being less than perfect) was the best thing that ever happened to any of us?

On Monday evening, we have an opportunity to communicate our feelings and needs in ways that support the improvement of our daily routines or health.

Tuesday: the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo until 9:23am EDT (see Tuesday early morning for more details).

If you set intentions last week Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, right after the New Moon became exact, from Tuesday early morning on is a great time to start taking relevant actions. If you wrote your intentions down, go back and take another look at what came through intuitively. If you didn’t write anything down, get quiet for a moment and check in with yourself: What actions are calling to you?

Tuesday at 6:07am EDT, we enter an almost 3.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC) which lasts until 9:23am EDT. Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to gain clarity, be of service, and focus on deeper, more authentic relationships with yourself and others. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new.

Tuesday morning, a harmonious Sun/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 7:07am EDT. We’ve been feelingits effects from last Saturday and will feel them through this Friday. We feel grounded and stable, have common sense at our disposal, and are willing to look reality in the eye and take responsibility for our lives (especially in regards to our feelings and needs). It's easy to stick to a specific task and make progress.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 25-29 degrees of Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces, or 0/1 degree of Leo, Sagittarius or Aries? If so, you will be most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Capricorn (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn).

Tuesday at 9:23am EDT, the Moon moves into harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra, where it will journey until Tuesday evening. The energy of the Libra Moon wants to maintain equal relationships: we thus tend to spend more time on diplomacy -- making compromises, negotiating, practicing graciousness, balancing, etc.

We can better set aside our emotions, to achieve the peace we desire; the shadow side of this is a tendency to avoid direct confrontations. We see both sides -- and may also fear loss of approval -- so we can't decide. As best as you can, find your inner balance with this... and communicate what needs to be said with grace and charm.

Wednesday: the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra all day (see Tuesday morning for details).

Wednesday afternoon, a harmonious Mercury/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 1:51pm EDT -- we started to feel this aspect from Tuesday on; it will be strong until Friday morning. With this aspect it helps to bring integrity and commitment to our interactions. We can make concrete, practical plans in service of our deeper desires and needs.

We get "to the point": no time or words wasted. Seeking deeper connection, we speak our truth, but with adult caution and moderation. The reality of our intimate connections becomes more clear -- and we are able to process our feelings and thoughts more realistically.

Wednesday evening, at 11:30pm EDT, the Sun changes signs from sensitive, protective Cancer to fun-loving, extroverted, expressive Leo, where it will journey until Aug. 23rd. With the Sun in Leo we are more inclined to connect to our heart and to follow our joy. This is a great time for gratitude, compliments, connecting to being playful.

For the most part, children have a wonderful Leo quality: they are creative, playful, self-expressed and they follow their heart. Who could you be if you lived from your "inner child" more fully?

If you have a Leo Sun-sign or Rising-sign, this means that your vitality will be strong -- after all, for some of you, this is your birthday month ;-) Happy Birthday! <3

Thursday: the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra until 10:07pm EDT (see Tuesday morning for details).

Thursday at 8:14am EDT, just as the Sun, Mercury -- the energy of communication -- also changes signsfrom sensitive Cancer to fun-loving Leo. It will journey there until August 7th. During this cycle, we are more expressive -- even theatrical -- and are also more convincing and persuasive, since we exude confidence when we speak or write.

Our mind is more able to connect to our heart, so we tend to feel generous and expressive. This is a great time for gratitude, compliments, connecting to your inner joy and being playful. The only thing that can come between you and your heart is pride; do your best not to put it there.

Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo? If so, you will feel the need for being self-expressed and playful more strongly. If you have a Leo Sun-sign or Rising-sign, you will be more chatty for the next 2 weeks.

Thursday at 2:12pm EDT, we enter an almost 8-hour Moon void of course (VoC) which lasts until 10:07pm EDT. Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to collaborate with others and bring a new level of optimism to your “game”. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new. If possible, plan your afternoon/evening ahead of time, or stick to routine things.

Thursday afternoon, a Sun/Mercury alignment in 0.5 degrees of Leo becomes exact at 3:24pm EDT. We started feeling this aspect build from last Sunday on; it will be strong until this Saturday. When the Sun and Mercury come together, we are especially sharp, communicative, and open. This aspect indicates a confident mind and an analytical approach to life. Intelligence and communication abilities are strong at this time; however, we may not listen as well as the other speaks -- we might be too busy thinking about what to say next.

In general, we have a strong need to take an active role in communications -- it is very hard for us to passively listen and absorb information right now. What we say or write now has impact, so as best as you can, choose your words wisely. If people hung on your every word, what would you say then? What would you hold back from saying?

We may be particularly busy/scattered during this time; it may not always be of service to us to take on too much: Choose wisely.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 0-3 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus, Scorpio or 27-29 degrees of Cancer, Capricorn, Aries or Libra? If so, you will be more affected by this alignment. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo, Gemini or Virgo (the Sun rules Leo; Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo)

Thursday at 10:07pm EDT, the Moon moves into passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will journey until Sunday morning. We feel emotions on a deeply personal level. We are motivated by the desire to get to the bottom of things -- superficiality won't work for us now -- and we instinctively read between the lines.

The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power; it's an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. This tends to be an emotionally colored, all-or-nothing, black or white experience -- it can therefore be an intimate, passionate time. As best as you can, avoid manipulation, brooding and suspicion; instead, open to the wealth of your innermost feelings -- decide to go deeper, allowing all feelings to surface, if they need to.

Embrace all of who you are. Know thyself, love thyself and you shall be set free. Remember: a deep love of all that we are will connect us to the Power within; Fear causes "Force" to show up -- and is ultimately what disempowers ourselves and others. This Moon placement starts the build up towards the first Quarter Moon, exact Thursday night/Friday very early morning…more on that later…

Friday: the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day (see Thursday late evening for details).

Thursday night/Friday very early morning at 12:04am EDT, the first Quarter Moon becomes exact, in 1 degrees of ScorpioWe start to feel this aspect from the moment the Moon enters Scorpio on Thursday late evening. The Moon in passionate, intimate, all-or-nothing Scorpio makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in playful, attention-seeking, self-expressed Leo

We feel compelled to take action. Last week saw the New Moon, on July 15th. If we began a project or initiative around then, it is probably off the ground by now -- and facing its first obstacles. This is therefore a time to stretch and grow -- and create some forward momentum. We may feel anxious or unusually busy. As best as you can, take it one breath at a time. Allow for changes, remain flexible and find creative solutions in your day-to-day interactions with others.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in any of the following: 0-3 degrees of Scorpio, Leo,Taurus, Aquarius or 29 degrees of Libra, Cancer, Aries or Capricorn? If so, you will feel the effects of this first Quarter Moon more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

Friday night, Saturn starts to slow down (station), preparing to come to halt on August 2nd in 28 degrees of Scorpio. It is getting ready to move forward again, after its 4.5-month retrograde phase — and will move more slowly for 14 days. Between now and Aug. 8th, anything connected to Saturn’s energy will come into our awareness quite strongly; we have to face what this planet is trying to communicate to us.

Saturn is about facing reality -- and doing what needs to be done -- so we can fully understand the practical implications of our reality and the consequences of our past actions. Saturn also represents our structures, responsibilities, commitments and ability to "do" life on life's terms.

As spirit beings in a physical world, it's best to observe the laws of the physical world. The sooner we learn to "play by the rules", the easier life gets. Saturn also represents time and the "domain" of time: growing up, maturing, understanding our limitations, setting healthy boundaries with others, living with integrity, being serious and focused on building something of purposeful value to society.

Saturn is our teacher. If you had a cosmic teacher, what would your personal "class" be in, right now? Where are you being asked to face your fears and became more mature? What calls for a deeper commitment? What will time do? As best as you can during the time of the station, bring flexibility and open-mindedness to any frustrations.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 26-29 degrees of  Scorpio, Taurus, Leo, Aquarius, or0 degrees of Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this station. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Capricorn, since Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn.

Saturday: the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day (see Thursday late evening for details).

Saturday at 5:29am EDT, Venuscomes to a halt in almost 1 degree of Virgo. This starts Venus's retrograde phase, which lasts until Sept.6th. This brings any relationship, self-worth and financial issues to the forefront -- and we’re ready for all these things to come out into the open.

It’s also asking us to reevaluate our daily routines and relationship to the “inner child”. This is a great time for resolving financial or relationship issues: We are going to get the chance to take a real good look at what we value in others, within ourselves, and in our world.

Here are some questions to contemplate during the retrograde phase: Do I value my relationships with colleagues? If not: What’s missing? Do my daily routines align with my values? Am I able to fully express my joy and creativity? What is my current relationship to my “inner child”?

The station lasts until Aug.5th, until then, we can expect our focus to be drawn to what we have (and what we lack). This is especially true with regard to the following: Our work, romantic relationships and in regards to fun. As best as you can, listen and take it all in.

Is your Sun sign or Ascendant in Taurus or Libra? Or do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 0-2 degrees of Virgo,Pisces, Gemini, Sagittarius or 14-29 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus or Scorpio? If so, you will feel more affected by this Venus retrograde phase.

Saturday morning, a challenging Mars/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 5:43am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Monday on; it will be strong until Wednesday of next week. This aspect asks us to get in touch with our desires and break away from anything that is holding us back. Passions and anger that we may not even know we had may emerge at this time.

Uranus urges us to let go and express ourselves more fully. We may feel restless and impatient; we can be very demanding and difficult to please. We tend to feel like progress is too slow and we are tired of waiting. This is a possibly explosive time, a rebellious urge within us presents an emotional challenge.

On the other hand, if we are the kind of person that doesn't go in for asserting themselves, this is an excellent time to try it out ;-) Do your best not to burn all your bridges, especially with any males in your family or at home. We may also experience an "awakening" of sorts in regards to our sexuality.

Accidents are unusually likely (though not inevitable), especially if our activities and our energy levels are erratic. To avoid accidents, stay as grounded as possible and keep breathing! Flexibility and open-mindedness is helpful.

Do you have your Ascendant or personal planets in 17-24 degrees of Cancer, Aries, Libra or Capricorn? If so, you will feel the effects of this aspect more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Aquarius (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius)

Sunday: the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio until 8:24am EDT. (see Thursday late evening for details).

Sunday early morning, a harmonious Mars/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 4:06am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Tuesday of last week on; it will be strong until Thursday of next week. This gives us a chance to learn to accept our own desires and feelings of anger as valid -- so that when we do express them, we express them naturally and with confidence.

How can you bring understanding towards your feelings of anger and your assertiveness? How can you embrace and honor your desires?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 18-24 degrees of Cancer, Pisces or Scorpio? If so, you will be most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries (Mars is the ruler of Aries)

Sunday at 5:14am EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC) for a little over 3-hours (until 8:24am EDT). Use this intuitive time to connect with others and yourself on a deep emotional level. Focus on emotional authenticity. This is a great time for very deep inner work. As best as you can, face your fears and take responsibility for all that you are: the good, the bad and the ugly ;-) As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new.

Sunday at 6:38am EDT, Uranus comes to a halt in 20.5 degrees of Aries and turns retrograde for the next 5 months. During the Uranus retrograde phase we are invited to access the Uranus energy from within. Our intuitions will be very strong during this time and we have access to sudden insights and ideas. This gives us the opportunity to take a look to see how free we actually feel.

Are we expressing our individuality to the fullest? Are we connecting to a larger vision for our future? Is anything holding us back?

Again, some of us will feel the effects more than others. This is particularly true if you have personal planets in 16-21 degrees of Aries -- and if you have Aquarius as your Sun- or Rising-Sign. For you in particular, this is a great time to reevaluate future goals -- and perhaps to reexamine any group causes that you want to be a part of.

Sunday at 8:24am EDT, the Moon moves into optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius, whereit will journey until Tuesday afternoon. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. The Sagittarius Moon persuades us to come from intuition and think in a broader manner.

We seek meaning and ideas that expand upon the "here and now"; we pursue truth and a new vision -- the big picture, rather than the details. Spontaneity is key, we'd rather improvise than plan; this may tip into just "winging it". We could also overdo or overstate.

A head's up for next Monday: the Moon remains inoptimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius all day (see Sunday morning for details). In the evening, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 7:06am EDT.….more about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)

Have a fantastic week!
Many blessings,
Sonja
