Last week was really diverse. The common theme was fun and relaxation :-) There was also some healing that happened in the process...
This week's headline items: Saturn’s station intensifies on Wednesday (it will come to a complete halt on Sunday). The Full Moon in Aquarius becomes exact on Friday and Venus (now retrograde) moves back into Leo, also on Friday.
There will also be three Moon VoC phases this week: Tuesday late morning (for 5 hours), Thursday afternoon (for almost 3 hours), and Saturday evening (for 30 minutes).
Monday: the Moon remains inoptimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius all day. It will journey there until Tuesday afternoon. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. The Sagittarius Moon persuades us to come from intuition and think in a broader manner.
We seek meaning and ideas that expand upon the "here and now"; we pursue truth and a new vision -- the big picture, rather than the details. Spontaneity is key, we'd rather improvise than plan; this may tip into just "winging it". We could also overdo or overstate.
Monday evening, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 7:06pm EDT. This could contribute either to some mental confusion and spaciness, or a need to express ourselves creatively with our imagination (but possibly not knowing how to). We started to feel this aspect from Sunday evening on; it will be strong until Tuesday evening.
This aspect operates more on an internal level: We feel uneasy about something, sort of "awkward" -- and we need to make a choice. Sometimes, imagination and mind can run way ahead of what is actually feasible (and sensible). At these times, the grand vision is best served by focusing on the next concrete step, accepting our own idiosyncrasies as we go.
Honesty is crucial here, especially self-honesty; inner awareness is in turn crucial to deep honesty and authenticity. What's true for you? What might be possible for humanity? Where do those overlap?
Note that I say "overlap": Don't look for an exact fit, this is more like two puzzle pieces that came from different jigsaw puzzles. You might keep looking at the imperfect fit and feel a nagging sense that something doesn't make sense… but it doesn't -- it can't. The pieces are not from the same game. Just do your best to "hang out" with the discomfort, rather than repeatedly trying to figure it out and fix it.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 8-10 degrees of Leo or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Pisces (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Neptune rules Pisces)
Tuesday: the Moon remains inoptimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius until 2:47pm EDT (see Monday for details).
Tuesday at 9:36am EDT, we enter a 5-hour Moon void of course (VoC) that last until 2:47pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to have an adventure — perhaps something physically challenging, yet fun. If nothing else, think bigger -- step outside of your usual environment, so you can see things from a different perspective. As always during a VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new.
Tuesday at 2:47pm EDT, the Moon moves into practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn, where it will journey until Thursday afternoon. The Capricorn Moon emphasizes our need for structure and forward planning. We are motivated by a desire for success; achievement and manifestation are paramount.
We are resourceful and pursue economy with time, energy, and other resources. We take things more seriously during Moon in Capricorn: we look reality in the eye. This can be a very productive period. As best as you can, avoid "should-ing" on yourself. Take the pressure off: try saying "I am doing the best I can and that's all I can ever do" ;-)
Wednesday: the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn all day (see Tuesday afternoon for details).
Wednesday late evening, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 11:21pm EDT. We started feeling this aspect yesterday morning (Tuesday); it will be strong until Thursday evening. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice… so we need to develop inner awareness.
Our compulsive side may lead us down a path that evades rational understanding. Our judgments -- of circumstances, ourselves, others -- can be so extreme that we aren't able to make intelligent and consistent progress in our life right now.
As best as you can, strive to be more trusting and less strict with yourself for these three days. Surrender to whatever you are experiencing right now: It is temporary ;-)
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 12-15 degrees of Leo or Capricorn? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Scorpio (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio)
Also on Wednesday,Saturn’s station intensifies -- it is slowing down even more, before coming to a complete halt on August 2nd in 28 degrees of Scorpio. It is getting ready to move forward again, after its 4.5-month retrograde phase. We will feel its effects of this station until Aug. 8th. Anything connected to Saturn’s energy will come into our awareness quite strongly; we have to face what this planet is trying to communicate to us.
Saturn is about facing reality -- and doing what needs to be done -- so we can fully understand the practical implications of our reality and the consequences of our past actions. Saturn also represents our structures, responsibilities, commitments and ability to "do" life on life's terms.
As spirit beings in a physical world, it's best to observe the laws of the physical world. The sooner we learn to "play by the rules", the easier life gets. Saturn also represents time and the "domain" of time: growing up, maturing, understanding our limitations, setting healthy boundaries with others, living with integrity, being serious and focused on building something of purposeful value to society.
Saturn is our teacher. If you had a cosmic teacher, what would your personal "class" be in, right now? Where are you being asked to face your fears and became more mature? What calls for a deeper commitment? What will time do? As best as you can during the time of the station, bring flexibility and open-mindedness to any frustrations.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 26-29 degrees of Scorpio, Taurus, Leo, Aquarius, or0 degrees of Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this station. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Capricorn, since Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn.
Thursday: the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn until 5:40pm EDT (see Tuesday afternoon for details).
Thursday at 2:50pm EDT, we enter an almost 3-hour long Moon void of course (VoC) that last until 5:40pm EDT. This is an intuitive time that presents an opportunity to do some research and bring awareness to what you are manifesting long-term. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new. Routine tasks work very well during this time.
Thursday at 5:40pm EDT, the Moon moves into freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, where it will journey until Saturday early evening. The energy of the Aquarian Moon relates to our instinct for improvement. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional; interactions more impersonal than personal. We are likely to have an increased fascination with the new and unusual.
Social gatherings, anything connected with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas and methods, progress: all these are promoted during the time the Moon moves through Aquarius. Again: we have our eyes on the future -- or on outer space :-) Personal freedom becomes paramount. This Moon placement starts the build up towards the Full Moon (exact on Friday morning).
Friday at 6:43am EDT, the Full Moon becomes exact in 8 degrees of Aquarius. As mentioned, the entrance of the Moon into Aquarius on Thursday morning started the energetic build up towards the Full Moon. This Full Moon in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius opposes the Sun in fun-loving, expressive Leo.
This Full Moon is the second Full Moon in July, therefore it is referred to as a "Blue Moon". The word “month” is derived from the same root as the word “moon” — but the “Julian” calendar used in the West doesn’t align very closely to the moon phases. Sometimes, this results in a “Blue Moon”. Note that Blue Moons have no astrological or energetic impact -- it doesn’t matter which calendar month a Full Moon falls in.
For the next two weeks, we’ll be looking for balance and integration between two opposing energies; we are more aware than everthat something is out of alignment. The balance in question is between the energies of Leo and Aquarius:
Leo symbolizes the expression of our own individual light, our unique gifts, our inner spark of the divine. Aquarius, on the other hand, symbolizes the power of community, and collaboration to bring about a common vision. You could say that Leo represents our individual self-expression and Aquarius our vision for humankind. So how to achieve that balance?
This Full Moon shows us that each one of us has the capacity to be an agent of change, that can make a difference in the world and create a better future for all of us on this planet. It's important to realize that our future is in our hands -- and our vision calls on us to express our talents full out.
What’s more, when we join forces with like-minded people, we accomplish much more than we could on our own: Synergy and innovation arise when we come together to move towards a better future. What are your special talents? Where are you being called to make a difference? Where might your people be found?
Saturn comes to a halt in 28 degrees of Scorpio, only 2 days after this Full Moon becomes exact, ending it’s yearly retrograde phase. In the past four-and-a-half months, we got a chance to reassess our limits and boundaries, reclaim our power and authority, and become more realistic and responsible. It’s time to move forward now -- and our progress will be in direct proportion to the amount of “inner work” we’ve done since mid-March.
Saturn also squares Jupiter in Leo at the time of the Full Moon. We are being asked to reconcile our beliefs with our long-term goals. We are invited to reach for the sky with our feet on the ground. We need to focus and prioritize (and set healthy boundaries) while keeping our heart open and staying connected to our inner joy.
Where do you still give your power away? What if joy were fuel for long-term planning? Where would you shine your light, if it were supposed to be truly seen? What is worth living for? Dying for?
Uranus and Venus started their retrograde phases only one week prior to this Full Moon, so their energies are still exalted during it, placing an emphasis on what we value, and on what needs to change if we are to make progress. The retrogrades mean we access these energies from the inside out.
Venus also makes a conjunction with Jupiter in Leo; this opens our eyes and hearts to new possibilities. Humor and romance play a big role in our interactions with others in the next two weeks, as do tolerance, generosity and playfulness.
To sum it all up: this Full Moon asks us to “be ourselves”, contribute our gifts and find our tribe, all while being authentic and kind. What actions can you take that support the higher vision?
If you’d like to learn more about this Full Moon, I’ll be posting a related video by Thursday evening: click here to watch
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in one of the following: 6-10 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus or Scorpio? If so, you are more affected by this month's Full Moon. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign inLeo or Cancer(the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
Friday at 11:27am EDT: Venus (now retrograde) moves back into fun and attention-loving Leo, where she will journey until Oct. 8th. We are more inclined to have fun now and socialize with others. We don't need to stay home anymore: it's time to get out and take some risks, have some fun, express ourselves.
With Venus in Leo we love to be admired and adored -- we love to feel special. Giving out compliments works very well during this time. We relate to others from our heart and we love to be seen as generous and loving. Love and affection are very important during this time, so give as much of those as possible and it shall all be returned to you a thousandfold ;-)
Note that with Venus being retrograde, we need to approach all those things from the inside out. This could take the form of reflecting on what brings us joy, how much fun we actually have in our lives, how much we can relate to this “inner child” energy. Are you loving and generous with yourself? What role does “romance and fun” play in your life?
Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra? If so, you will feel more outgoing and confident for the period Venus moves through Leo. Your heart will want to connect and be admired. Creative endeavors will feel satisfying to you. If you are a Leo Sun-sign or Rising-sign, you are going to have more love and beauty in your life for as long as Venus is in your sign.
Saturday: the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius until 6:36pm EDT (see Thursday afternoon for details).
Saturday afternoon, a somewhat challenging Sun/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 2:24pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Friday morning on; it will be strong until Sunday night. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed if we’re to see what needs adjusting.
Our energy tends to be directed unrealistically right now. Our sense of self may change as we learn that we wrongly assessed important situations. Due to our high ideals, we may take on more than we can physically handle -- if we feel drained or frustrated at this time, it might be helpful to look at our overall direction in life to see if this is the case.
It is also worthwhile to look for how our ideas are being received by others: Can we involve them in our dreams? As best as you can, slow down: "If a thing is worth having, it's worth waiting for."
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 8-10 degrees of Leo or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Pisces (the Sun rules of Leo; Neptune rules Pisces)
Saturday at 6:02pm EDT, we enter a half hour Moon void of course (VoC) (it lastsuntil 6:36pm EDT). Use this intuitive time to balance your need for life improvements with your desire for socializing and fun — might there be a way to combine them? As always with a Moon VoC, go with the flow as best you can, and stick to routine things ;-)
Saturday at 6:36pm EDT, the Moon moves into creative, sensitive Pisces, where it will journey until Monday evening. The energy of the Pisces Moon bears on the need for connection to our higher selves. It can be a wistful, sensitive and compassionate time; we are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns.
Boundaries and walls come down; we feel energetically connected to everything around us. As best as you can, therefore, be kind to yourself and others -- surround yourself with loving energy. It's a time best used for spiritual or creative endeavors and for dissolving our fears and doubts. Feelings tend to flow more freely; as best as you can, let them ;-)
Sunday: the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day (see Saturday evening for details).
Saturday night/Sunday very early morning at 1:53am EDT, Saturn comes to a halt, preparing to turn direct again. After being retrograde for 4.5 months, Saturn begins the process of turning direct, by coming to a halt at 28 degrees of Scorpio. As best as you can, bring flexibility and open-mindedness to any sources of frustration, especially on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. If you bring commitment and maturity to your interactions on those days, you will feel more empowered.
Saturn represents our structures, responsibilities, commitments -- and our ability to "do" life on life's terms. When this planet comes to a halt, we get to see where we need to create or renew commitments. It may also seem like our physical realities have come to a compete halt: Take a deep breath whenever you can, as often as you can (especially today and tomorrow).
Capricorns, Aquarians (whether by Sun-sign or Ascendent) and people with personal planets in 26-29 degrees of Scorpio, Taurus, Leo or Aquarius, or 0 degrees of Sagittarius, Gemini, will feel a sense of relief as Saturn starts speeding up again. Moving forward with our long-term goals will be easier now, as we have more clarity: We can integrate what we have learned over the past 5 months and more easily align our inner commitments and goals with the outer world.
Sunday late morning, a harmonious Mercury/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 10:50am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Friday on; it will be strong until Tuesday of next week. This aspect supports a connection between our higher mind and our day-to-day mind. We are able to receive inspiration from higher places and maybe even look into the future. We are able to communicate our vision for a better future; insights arise from these communications.
This is an opportune time for the following: meetings and other organized group activities; communicating online, activities involving computers, scientific projects, and/or metaphysics. Our intuition is strong: original, creative insights and ideas come "out of the blue". As best as you can, stay open to these "downloads" -- they might change how you see life ;-)
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 17-24 degrees of Leo, Aries or Sagittarius? If so, you will feel especially blessed by this connection. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Aquarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius)
A head's up for next Monday: the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces until 7:24pm EDT (see Saturday evening for details); a long-lasting, challenging Jupiter/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 6:36am EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from July 18th on; it will be strong until Aug. 18th; we also enter a 3-hour Moon void of course (VoC) at 4:35pm EDT… more about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)
Have a fantastic week!
