The Start of a New You -- Astrology Forecast for Mon., Aug. 24th - Sun., Aug. 30th, 2015

Please note that all times given below are Eastern Daylight Saving Time -- to change the listed times to your own timezone, I recommend clicking here for the time and date converter

The first half of last week had a wonderful balance of work, play and relaxation... But when Mercury went over the Eclipse degree on Thursday morning, everything went haywire -- I discovered my website and email were offline (and possibly not retrievable for 5 to 7 business days!!!) Thank goodness, we got my website and one of my emails back up; you can now email me again at: sonja@astrologercoach.com Thanks! ;-)

This week's headline items: Venus starts its station on Tuesday, prior to going direct again on Sept. 6th; Mercury changes signs from Virgo to Libra on Thursday, late in the morning -- and the Full Moon in Pisces becomes exact on Saturday afternoon.

There will also be three Moon VoC phases this week: Monday evening (for 6.5 hours), Thursday early morning (for 43 minutes), and Saturday early morning (for almost 2 hours).

Monday: the Moon remains in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius all day. It will journey there until Monday night/Tuesday very early morning. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. The Sagittarius Moon persuades us to come from intuition and think in a broader manner.

We seek meaning and ideas that expand upon the "here and now"; we pursue truth and a new vision -- meaning the big picture, rather than the details. Spontaneity is the key: we'd rather improvise than plan; this may tip into just "winging it". We could also overdo or overstate.

Monday at 6:04pm EDT, we enter a 6.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC) that last until 12:22am EDT (Monday night/Tuesday very early morning). Use this intuitive time to make some adjustments and (as best as you can) and find creative solutions to seemingly unsolvable situations. Make space for communicating the specifics and also for being able to see the bigger picture.

If at all possible though, refrain from actually starting anything brand-new — in fact, plan your evening ahead of time, or stick to routine things. If you can't… simply go with the flow.

Tuesday at 12:22am EDT, the Moon moves into practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn, where it will journey until Thursday early morning. The Capricorn Moon emphasizes our need for structure and forward planning. We are motivated by a desire for success; achievement and manifestation are paramount.

We are resourceful and pursue economy with time, energy, and other resources. We take things more seriously during Moon in Capricorn: we look reality in the eye. This can be a very productive period. As best as you can, avoid "should-ing" on yourself. Take the pressure off: try saying "I am doing the best I can and that's all I can ever do" ;-)

Tuesday starts off with a lovely flow and support toward accomplishing our goals. In the afternoon, we have an opportunity to connect our long-term goals to projects that are in alignment with our higher Selves. Remember: an opportunity is not automatically given to us, we have to "take" it.

Towards the later afternoon/evening, we might need to make some inner adjustments -- flexibility and open-mindedness is important here. As best as you can, allow yourself to make time for matters of the heart, even though you may have some deadlines or obligations.

Also on Tuesday: Venus starts her station again --the planet’s movement through the sky appears from Earth to be slowing down; it’s actually getting ready to come to a halt (and moving direct) on Sept. 6th. The station brings all relationship, self-worth and financial issues to the forefront.

This stationing period lasts until Sept. 17th, bringing into focus what we do and don’t have; until then, we are more aware of our relationships or the lack thereof. This forces us to look at who we value (including ourselves) and at what is truly important to us long-term. It’s important to pay attention now, because when Venus goes direct again, we’ll get a chance to address and resolve all these issues.

Is your Sun sign or Ascendant in Taurus or Libra? Or do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 13-17 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus or Scorpio? If so, you will feel a stronger connection to this Venus station.

Wednesday: the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn all day (see Tuesday very early morning for details).

Wednesday around noon, an opportune Mercury/Saturn aspectbecomes exact at 12:07pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Monday on; it will be strong until Saturday. This is an opportunity to take responsibility for our thinking structures and be really honest with ourselves. How can we get the most from this opportunity?

It’s simple: Go deeper within. This is a great time to commit to understanding our conditioning and thinking processes. If we take this chance to see things more clearly, and connect to ourselves more deeply, we could get a good dose of reality — and an ability to focus on long-term issues. Remember: opportunities are openings; they aren't necessarily handed to us -- we have to "take" them and make something of them.

Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 26-29 degrees of Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn,Cancer or 0-2 degrees of Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius or Leo? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Capricorn (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Saturn rules Capricorn)

Wednesday evening, a Sun/Jupiter alignment in 3 degrees of Virgo becomes exact at 6:02pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last Sunday on; it will be strong until this Saturday. This is an excellent time to start any new long-term projects, especially those connected to the Virgo energy -- anything involving detail-oriented work, organizational work, health, nutrition, or daily routines (such as exercise, food, work schedule, etc.) You may well feel more vital, confident, and optimistic when it comes to those projects.

This is a good time to resolve conflicts, especially with our co-workers (or employees). Events may give our ego a boost, and we could be feeling quite perky and "alive". Take advantage of this by promoting yourself or putting yourself "out there". Consider whether you want to begin a new long-term project; if you do, try to launch it at the time of the transit (assuming all other things are equal).

Ego gratification is the theme of this transit. This is the start of a "new you" with more confidence and faith. We have a chance to create a world of adventure and personal growth. We are optimistic, and that helps us attract positive circumstances.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 0-6 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini or Sagittarius? If so, you will feel this alignment quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Sagittarius (the Sun rules Leo; Jupiter rules Sagittarius).

Thursday at 3:20am EDT, we enter a 43-minute Moon void of course (VoC) phase that lasts until 4:03am EDT. If you are already awake, use this intuitive time to take practical steps forward on existing projects. If at all possible though, refrain from actually starting anything brand-new.

Thursday at 4:03am EDT, the Moon moves into freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, where it will journey until Saturday early morning. The energy of the Aquarian Moon relates to our instinct for improvement. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional; interactions more impersonal than personal. We are likely to have an increased fascination with the new and unusual.

Social gatherings, anything connected with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas and methods, progress: all these are promoted during the time the Moon moves through Aquarius. Again: we have our eyes on the future -- or on outer space :-) Personal freedom becomes paramount.

Thursday at 11:44am EDT, Mercury changes signs from practical Virgo to harmony-seeking Libra, where it will journey until Nov. 2nd -- an unusually long time, due to the Mercury retrograde that will take place between Sept. 17th and Oct. 9th.Mercury in Libra changes the way we communicate and think. We are more likely now to see things from multiple points of view and to think in abstractions, this helps us be objective.

We have a strong sense of justice and look for ways to make compromises. We speak and act diplomatically; this comes from our desire for harmony, peace, diplomacy, win/win outcomes. We feel better when we are not pressured into making quick decisions. Very probably, the two things we will most avoid at this time are confrontations and emotional intensity.

Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo? If so, you will feel a greater need for justice and fairness. Do you have your Ascendent or Sun-sign in Libra? If so, you will most likely feel more chatty for the next 9.5 weeks.

Friday: the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius all day (see Thursday early morning for details).

Mercury enters a 2-week shadow phase today (Friday), as it reaches almost 1 degree of Libra. This precedes the retrograde phase, which will begin on Sept. 17th. If you want to buy, sell or ship big-ticket items -- especially connected to transportation (cars, airline tickets, etc.) or communication devices (phone, computer, iPad, etc.) -- be aware of the shadow periods as well as the retrograde phases.

If possible, get these things done before Mercury enters it's shadow or wait until after the shadow phases are over (in this case: Oct.24th). Of course, if there is something that must get done during these phases, don't put your whole life on hold, just because Mercury is retrograde or in it's shadow. Sometimes things line up exactly at the “right” time. As best as you can, trust your intuition ;-)

Saturday at 3:03am EDT, we enter an almost 2-hour Moon void of course (VoC) phase that lasts until 4:51am EDT. If you are already awake, use this intuitive time to make some adjustments in your life. As best as you can, find creative solutions to seemingly unsolvable situations.

Make space both for your need to make improvements and move towards your vision for life, and for focusing on deeper emotional issues and making responsible choices that include intimate partners or financial partners. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new.

Saturday at 4:51am EDT, the Moon moves into creative, sensitive Pisces, where it will journey until Monday morning. The energy of the Pisces Moon bears on the need for connection to our higher selves. It can be a wistful, sensitive and compassionate time; we are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns. Boundaries and walls come down; we feel energetically connected to everything around us.

As best as you can, therefore, be kind to yourself and others -- surround yourself with loving energy. It's a time best used for spiritual or creative endeavors and for dissolving our fears and doubts. Feelings tend to flow more freely; as best as you can, let them ;-) This move into Pisces also begins the build-up to the Full Moon...

Saturday at 2:35pm EDT, the Full Moon in 6 degrees of Pisces becomes exact. The Moon in creative, free-flowing Pisces is making an opposition to the Sun in detail-oriented, practical Virgo. So once again, for the next two weeks, we are looking for balance: We are more aware than everthat something needs to be brought into alignment.

In this case, the balance is between logic and intuition -- Virgo's detailed, analytical understanding, versus the call from Pisces to open our heart and allow for paradoxical truths to co-exist -- we realize that there is no separation, everything is interconnected: in short, we need a balance between left- and right-brain.

The mind acts like a filtering mechanism that helps us to focus and function more efficiently — but it can also greatly narrow our view and understanding of the world. Ask yourself: What am I seeking to change/improve with my mind’s help? What do I accept or receive through the openness of my heart? What might come through if my heart and mind were working together?

Spiritual practices (such as meditation, breathing exercises, mindful exercise, etc.) can open the doors of our perception. The same is true of spiritual/energetic healing modalities like Reiki, "access consciousness bars", shiatsu, acupuncture, etc. Creative flow through dance, singing, playing, etc., can also connect us to “the all”, as can positive emotions such as love, gratitude and compassion.

This is quite a powerful Full Moon. Firstly, it’s the first of three consecutive “SuperMoons”; secondly, we are entering Eclipse season (the Solar Eclipse in Virgo is exact on Sept. 13th). Our physical and emotional bodies strongly feel the intensity of it all -- these events ultimately support a shift in consciousness, bringing us closer to our Soul's path.

The Sun aligns with Jupiter in Virgo; this has us taking a closer look at our belief systems or ideologies. We are more aware of where our daily lives need improvement and where we need to take actions.

The Moon also aligns with Neptune in Pisces. This reminds us of the interconnectedness of body and mind, heart and soul. We are also more aware of our connection to all the energies around us, via an emotional connection to all living things that heightens our sensitivities; this makes it crucial to surround ourselves with caring, loving energies.

This Full Moon also highlights the importance of developing, expressing and trusting our feminine energies -- connecting to our feeling side, following our intuition. We need to allow for the flow of things… Just like the tides, just like our breath, we need to allow for feelings/thoughts/sensations to move in, and move out again.

Venus aligns with Mars at the time of the Full Moon, bringing a desire for artistic self-expression, romance and adventure. Wanting admiration, love, passion (and fun) in our relationships is not going to be that rewarding, unless we are already able to love ourselves from the inside out. We need to ask ourselves: Where is joy and fulfillment really to be found?

Mars is making a somewhat challenging aspect to Pluto. We are invited to make some inner adjustments: How can we align our personal desires with what is expected of us publicly? How can we enjoy ourselves now, without taking anything away from what we want to build, long-term? What assumptions are holding us back?

This Full Moon invites us to tap into our hearts first, so that our mind can be of service to something much vaster and more beautiful than what we were taught is possible. What if the greatest lesson of the heart was an oceanic limitlessness? Or liberation like a breeze of wind on a summer day? The ability to trust our heart-intuition is the most powerful "weapon" we have in the 21st century. I’ll be posting a video on this subject on Wednesday evening, click here to watch.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 4-8 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Gemini or Sagittarius? If so, you are more affected by this month's Full Moon. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

Sunday: the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day (see Saturday morning for details).

Today (Sunday) starts with an opportunity to dissolve "old" traumas or fears. As best as you can, allow yourself to be aware of your obsessions, and attempts to control the outcome -- when coupled with self-compassion, awareness can bring about that shift that frees us from the past. Always remember that an opportunity is not handed to us, we have to actively work with the energies at hand to get the benefit.

In the morning, we might experience a pull between extroverted and introverted impulses; we'll need to make some inner adjustments, allowing ourselves to trust all that occurs, remaining as flexible and open-minded as possible.

In the afternoon, we need to practice self-compassion: As best as you can, feel your feelings, allow yourself to be human and appreciate/acknowledge all the feelings of your personal emotional rainbow. Trust that all feelings are valuable and bring you more closely in alignment with your higher Self. After all, today is a perfect day for spiritual endeavors, creativity, or helping others.

A head's up for next Monday: At 2:53am EDT, we enter a 1.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC) phase that lasts until 4:33am EDTAt 4:33am EDT, the Moon moves into pioneering, fast-paced Aries, where it will journey until Wednesday morningIn the late evening, a Sun/Neptune opposition will become exact... more about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)

Have a fantastic week!
Many blessings,
Sonja
