Last week was busy -- by the end of the week I was so pooped, I had to delay recording some videos. I was very proud of myself though, that I didn't push myself to stick to my schedule, which is something I would have done in the past. Instead I listened to my body and rested. I went back to work once I had more energy again. As a result, my writing was much more thorough, and it felt good.
This week's headline items: Pluto starts its station on Monday evening, getting ready to come to a halt on Sept. 25th; the Balsamic Moon phase begins on Wednesday; and Mercury starts to slow down (station) on Thursday, getting ready for its retrograde phase. Last but not least, the New Moon/Solar Eclipse in Virgo is exact, early on Sunday.
There will also be three Moon VoC phases this week: Tuesday evening (for a little over 1 hour), Friday morning (for 53 min.), and Sunday late evening (for 33 min.).
Monday: the Moon remains in protective, introverted Cancer all day. It will journey there until Tuesday evening. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say to (and about) us, so be kind to yourself and others. Emotional safety is important to us at this time: We like connecting to the familiar; home or family becomes our sanctuary.
Nurture yourself and others, but remember: Make sure your glass is filled before letting others drink from it — otherwise we might start resenting others for draining our energies. For all of us in the United Sates, an invitation to celebrate Labor Day in a nurturing way.
Pluto starts to slow down today (Monday) -- it is getting ready to come to a halt on Sept. 25th, after its 5-month retrograde phase. This makes its energy more exalted in the sky for the next 4 weeks...When an outer planet stations, its energy gets more pronounced; we become more aware of its impact on us -- and this can sometimes cause discomfort. We are being asked to hang out with that discomfort until the planet's energy has picked up speed again (around Oct.8th).
Pluto is associated with our soul purpose. It relates to the process of empowerment -- our ability to feel empowered from within, through the experience of wholeness -- and to our deepest passions. It is also associated with transformation, for example our ability to transform darkness into light or "death" into "rebirth". Those terms don't necessarily refer to physical death or rebirth, but rather some sort of ending and beginning.
To get to a place of truthfulness on the soul level, Pluto will remove what no longer serves us, replacing it with something new -- something fully aligned with our deepest passions and soul purpose. When we resist the deep changes Pluto brings, we tend to suffer; on the other hand, when we surrender and allow for that process to take place, we will move to a place of greater authenticity -- and feel a newness and empowerment from within.
As best as you can, take a closer look at whatever is "in your face" for the next 4 weeks. Look for what might no longer be in alignment with your soul's purpose (your deep authentic Self). Ask yourself: Where am I holding on, out of fear? What habits, behaviors or fears are holding me back from feeling fully empowered from within? What would it look like, if I was fully aligned with my Soul-purpose? How would it feel? When we confront our fears we very often discover hidden gifts and strengths.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 11-15 degrees of Capricorn, Aries, Cancer or Libra? If so, you will feel this station more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Scorpio (Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio).
Tuesday: the Moon remains in protective, introverted Cancer until 10:36pm EDT (see Monday morning for details).
Tuesday early morning, a somewhat challenging Mars/Chiron aspectbecomes exact at 2:21am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Sunday on; it will be strong until Thursday morning. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice… so we need to develop inner awareness.
Under this influence, we might doubt our effectiveness in going after what we want, leading to passive-aggressive behavior, defensiveness, or frustration. What if you could simply allow yourself to be a human and know that you are doing the best you can? What if everything had divine timing -- no matter how fast or slow?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 18-21 degrees of Leo or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Pisces (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Neptune rules Pisces)
Tuesday afternoon, a harmonious Mars/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 3:53pm EDT. We started feeling this aspect from last Friday on; it will be strong until this Sunday. This aspect signals a time when our energy level is much higher than usual -- among other effects, we may find we can work for long hours without fatigue, or that we are "driven", especially in new and unusual directions.
It could be that we receive backing from unusual sources. In general, our efforts are successful and we scale new heights of originality. As best as you can, stay open to new and unexpected things. Highly recommended: Group activities, group causes and connecting to like-minded people from all over the world.
Do you have your Ascendant (or one or more personal planets) in 17-23 degrees of Leo, Aries or Sagittarius? If so, you will be most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Aquarius (Mars is the ruler Aries; Uranus rules Aquarius)
Tuesday at 9:28pm EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC) that last a little over 1 hour. Use this intuitive time to take a break, go within and focus on nurturing yourself. Take it easy and, as always during VoC: Go with the flow (and avoid starting anything brand-new).
Tuesday at 10:36pm EDT, the Moon moves into fun- and attention-loving Leo, where it will journey until Friday late morning. We have a chance to appreciate ourselves and our lives -- and to connect to the heart. Hand out as many compliments as possible, they will be deeply appreciated :-)
Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones. What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you squeak just thinking about it?
Wednesday: the Moon remains in fun-loving, attention-seeking Leo all day (see Tuesday late evening for details). The Balsamic Moon phase starts today as well; this lasts until Sunday early morning, when the New Moon/Solar Eclipse in Virgo becomes exact (…more on that on Sunday). We are being asked to slow down and get quiet, so we can listen to our intuition.
For some of us, this might be a stretch, especially since we are in Eclipse season. As best as you can: stay grounded, take a deep breath and exhale any tensions. Rather than starting something brand-new, put all that energy into completing existing projects. This is also a great time for letting go of whatever no longer serves us. What if you could hear the voice of your inner wisdom? What might it be saying?
Wednesday afternoon, a challenging Mercury/Pluto aspectbecomes exact at 3:27pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last Saturday on; and due to Mercury's retrograde, it will be strong until Sept. 27th. We will also start to feel it again from Oct. 20th-24th.
This aspect creates some tension in our lives. We may feel anxious or stressed by one or more situations or interactions to do with one-on-one relationships. We are being invited to grow and make some changes in our lives, particularly in terms of our thinking processes. We are being asked tofind creative solutions and be completely honest with ourselves and others. The best way to achieve this is by the continual practice of self-care and self-nurturing.
We have tremendous focus and drive right now, which can tip into obsession. With this aspect an all-or-nothing attitude is very likely. Choose love over fear whenever possible. Not many people enjoy being second-guessed all the time, yet that is something that we are inclined to do now.
However, our determination to get to the bottom of any matter, to rip away falsehoods and expose true motives, can be used for good if we employ it in our work, for example, in regards to investigations or research. This is an opportunity to learn to harness our intense mental energy and apply it productively. We are also capable of very hard work, focus and effort now.
We have a great love of debate, but should be careful that we don't overpower others with our strong opinions, attempting to "convert" them to our frame of mind, or treat regular exchanges of opinion as battlegrounds. Connect to others, empowering them with what you feel passionate about. Choose your words carefully, from a deeply connected and empowered place.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 10-16 degrees of Libra, Capricorn, Aries or Cancer? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Scorpio (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Pluto rules Scorpio)
Thursday: the Moon remains in fun-loving, attention-seeking Leo all day (see Tuesday late evening for details).
Thursday: Mercury starts to slow down (“stationing”). It’s getting ready to come to a halt next week Thursday, Sept.17th (more on that next week). For the next 13 days (until Sept. 23rd), we need to be patient with ourselves and others -- especially if there is a connection with communication or transportation, and their associated technologies. This is not the best time to start anything brand-new, especially if it contains new information that needs to be processed.
We might experience delays or misunderstandings, and things tend to feel "off" or stagnant. It might be a good idea to give yourself some extra time to get ready or travel somewhere -- especially if you intend to use public transportation, fly or drive (For more details on Mercury Shadow Phases and Retrogrades, click here: http://goo.gl/pCRlfF )
Some of us will feel the effects of this station more than others: those of us with Gemini or Virgo as our Sun- or Rising-Sign (Ascendant) -- and those of us with personal planets (or angles) in 14-18 degrees of Libra, Aries, Capricorn and Cancer.
Friday at 9:03am EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC) that last until 9:56am EDT. Use this intuitive time to take a break or slow things down. Find a balance between your need for material safety and physical "wants”, versus your deep emotional commitments to others — as best as you can, allow for both.
Friday at 9:56am EDT, the Moon moves into detail-oriented, practical Virgo, where it will journey until Sunday late evening. This turns our focus toward practical activities. Solving problems, making order out of confusion, helping others: all of these bring emotional satisfaction. Health matters might come into focus.
We notice the parts that make up the whole; this is a great time to look at our daily routines (eating, work, self-care, etc.), to see if they are in alignment with our long-term goals.
Saturday: the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day (see Friday morning for details).
Saturday early morning, a Sun/Chiron oppositionbecomes exact at 3am EDT. We started feeling this aspect build from Tuesday on; and it will be strong until next week Tuesday. This aspect asks of us to create a balance between two poles: on the one hand, our ability to see all the angles and details -- being aware of what works and what doesn't -- and on the other, being able to bring compassion and understanding to each situation.
Our confidence might not be at its strongest at this time. Oppositions can be acted out within relationships: one person embodies one of the energies, while the other person "holds" the energy of the other pole. When this happens, we sometimes experience the opposition as something that the other person is triggering in us.
In the case of this particular opposition, it may be someone poking at our wounds, or pointing out our shortcomings -- which brings up our insecurities or secret shame. This may cause us to spin into an emotional place that is not only connected to what is happening in the moment but also connected to our past -- to our childhood.
If this happens, as best as you can, locate the original pain or wound -- and bring compassion, love, understanding and forgiveness to yourself (and towards your younger Self). Healing can only take place if we are willing to embrace our flaws and love our most vulnerable places. Blaming, shaming, attacking and justifying will not heal us faster -- it will cause more pain and suffering, within us and around us. How quickly would you like to heal?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 16-22 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini or Sagittarius? If so, you will feel this opposition quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo (the Sun rules Leo).
Saturday afternoon, a somewhat challenging Sun/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 1:18pm EDT. We started feeling this aspect build from Tuesday on; and it will be strong until next week Tuesday. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice… so we need to develop inner awareness.
Surprises could make us feel out of control or off our path. Disrupted plans or schedules, unexpected events, changes of plan: All are very possible right now. How flexible could you be? What could you shift internally, so you can stay open and aligned with your unique, divine Self?
Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 19-21 degrees of Virgo or Aries? If so, you may be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aquarius or Leo (the Sun rules Leo; Uranus rules Aquarius)
Saturday is also the last day before the Solar Eclipse, the first of two powerful Eclipses within the next 2 weeks. There is some potent energy coming our way; it would be wise to prepare ourselves to be transformed by it, allowing for our consciousness upgrade to be installed.
This is a good time to slow things down and go within. For many of us, this will be a stretch, as we want to do just the opposite: jump the gun, get started with something new, act impulsively, etc. This is quite common right before a Solar Eclipse. As best as you can, stay grounded, take a deep breath and exhale any tensions and connect to your inner wisdom.
It comes down to this: just for now and just as best as you can... could you simply allow what is... to be? Could you simply be the “observer” until the upgrade is complete?
Rather than starting something brand-new, put all that energy into completing things. The last Solar Eclipse in Virgo was in September of 1997. Think back to that time (if you can :-) — what did you start around then? How could you complete it or move to the new level?
Sunday: the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo until 10:41pm EDT (see Friday morning for details).
On Sunday at 2:41am EDT, the Moon aligns with the Sun in 20 degrees of Virgo; this marks the beginning both of a new Moon cycle, and Eclipse cycle.
Eclipses take place approximately every six months. This Solar Eclipse will bring a consciousness upgrade, and a shift that will unfold until the next one. If you’d like more details, I recommend also watching my video on the subject ;-)
The Sun and Moon are also connected to one of the Moon Nodes -- in this case, the North Node. Solar Eclipses always end one 19-year cycle and begin a new one; they reveal new pathways and possibilities — and granting the opportunity to take what we have learned to the next level. North Node Eclipses like this one help us move towards a new exploration of an energy that promotes Soul-evolution.
The last Solar Eclipse in Virgo took place in Sept. 1997. Think back to that time: were there any major endings and beginnings? Though obviously things will not play out in an identical manner, there might be a resonance this time around…Those of us who have Natal planets within 3 degrees of the Eclipse will experience more dramatic changes than others (more on that later…)
With this extra-powerful New Moon in detail-oriented, practical Virgo, we have 5.5 months to learn about being of service, and about what it means to strengthen our focus on improving daily routines, getting organized, and taking care of any health matters.
This will also be a great time to begin new projects that demand attention to detail, making lists, and taking pride in “small" accomplishments. Some examples of how this could play out: We could start a new health regime, paying attention to our diet, we could set up specific routines that help us manage our lives in constructive and mindful ways.
This is all about handling the “nitty-gritty" details of our day-to-day life in an organized, step-by-step fashion, so that we can free our minds of clutter. What would clear the decks? Another way to step into the higher vibrations of Virgo for the next 5.5 months: As best as you can, recognize that humility, self-improvement, and being of service bring you closer to your inner divinity and your Soul's path.
This Solar Eclipse is also making an opposition to Chiron. We are being asked to balance two apparently "opposing" needs: on the one hand, the need for organization and practical improvements in our lives; on the other, the need for emotional and spiritual healing.
The word “heal” comes from the same root as the word “whole” -- healing reunites what was separated, through acceptance and integration. We are being invited to take a more holistic approach to our day-to-day functioning. What cries out to be made whole? What if compassion and understanding were the perfect tools?
Mercury is the ruler of Virgo; it's stationing in Libra at the time of the Eclipse, and its energy is therefore “exalted". We feel better when we are not pressured into making quick decisions. Mercury also makes an opposition to Uranus in Aries, and a square to Pluto in Capricorn (also stationing): We are being asked to uncover the real issues in our relationships and deal with them authentically.
The more honest we can be with ourselves and others at this time, the more likely we can make the progress we seek on a deep level. As best as you can, check to see if your intentions are inspired or fearful; remember: Deep, authentic love of all that we are will connect us to the Power within, whereas Fear causes "Force" or "Walls" to show up -- it is ultimately what disempowers ourself and others.
Pluto is also the focal point of this T-square involving Uranus and Mercury. It is asking us to find creative solutions and be completely honest with ourselves and others; the best way to achieve this is by the continuous practice of self-care and self-nurturing. If we can take care of our inner life fully, we can engage with the outside world authentically and realistically. It starts with a pair of simple questions: What am I feeling? What do I need?
As mentioned above, at the time of the eclipse, Pluto is starting to slow down ("station”); it is preparing to come to a halt on Sept. 25th. Confronting our fears could uncover hidden gifts and strengths. We need to ask ourselves: Where am I holding on out of fear? What emotional attachments keep me from being who I know I could be?
Jupiter in Virgo opposes Neptune in Pisces, asking us to find a balance between understanding the facts, and taking in our intuitive knowingness. We are being invited to explore beyond the details and put our trust in the universal process. If this Eclipse has a core message, it would be this: "Simplify. Be Mindful. Dedicate yourself to what's important with compassion in your heart!"
Allow for the new templates to “download” and stay centered and grounded from within until Oct. 12th. Flexibility helps, as does becoming the observer of our emotional and mental body. Remember: this will not last forever -- in four weeks, the downloads are completed ;-)
Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in one of the following placements: 17-23 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini or Sagittarius? If so, you may feel the effects of this extra-powerful New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
Regular readers may have noticed that I don’t mention setting intentions for the coming month, because with a Solar Eclipse we want to wait 48 hours, as the energy of an Eclipse is quite intense and we want to wait until the energy settles before setting our intentions.
In next week’s update though (on Tuesday), I will talk about setting some powerful intentions for the next six months -- and give you the very best times for doing so :-) For now, just remember that Love is the ultimate healer. Ask yourself: What needs our forgiveness? What needs healing? What might connect all the levels of our being -- physical, mental, emotional and spiritual?
If you're looking for more guidance on those questions, I would suggest a look at your Natal Chart: The House placement of the Eclipse will indicate which area of life you're most ready to take to a new level of consciousness. If you’re not sure how to do that, watch my 30-minute class, "How to Read My Birth Chart” :-)
On Sunday at 10:08pm EDT, we enter a 33-minute Moon void of course (VoC) (it lasts until 10:41pm EDT). Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to pause and take stock. What would my long-term goals look like, viewed with complete clarity? Where do they need improvent? What would deepen my inner connection to them?
Sunday at 10:41pm EDT, the Moon moves into harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra, where it will journey until Wednesday morning. The energy of the Libra Moon wants to maintain equal relationships: we thus tend to spend more time on diplomacy -- making compromises, negotiating, practicing graciousness, balancing, etc.
We can better set aside our emotions, to achieve the peace we desire; the shadow side of this is a tendency to avoid direct confrontations. We see both sides -- and may also fear loss of approval -- so we can't decide. As best as you can, find your inner balance with this... and communicate what needs to be said with grace and charm.
A head's up for next Monday: the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra all day (see Sunday evening for details). Mercury's station intensifies, as the planet is further slowing down -- see next week’s forecast for all the details ;)
Another head's Up!Fees will be going up in the beginning of October: to buy Readings or Coaching sessions before this happens, click here. Any session bought in September can be used any time until March 2016!
Have a fantastic week!
