Where is the balance point? -- Astrology Forecast for Mon., Oct.12th - Sun., Oct.18th, 2015

Please note that all times given below are Eastern Daylight Saving Time -- to change the listed times to your own timezone, I recommend clicking here for the time and date converter

On the whole, last week was pretty balanced: I definitely was aware of the Mercury station... and then, towards the end of the week, I got the sense for the first time that Eclipse season is ending, and we are moving into less intense territory :-)

This week's headline items: the New Moon in Libra becomes exact on Monday evening; the Mercury station ends on Tuesday; and therewill be three Moon VoC phases this week: Monday evening (for 21.5 hours), Wednesday evening (for 35.5 hours), and Sunday early morning (for a little over 10 hours).

Monday: the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra all day. It will journey here until Tuesday late afternoon. The energy of the Libra Moon wants to maintain equal relationships: we thus tend to spend more time on diplomacy -- making compromises, negotiating, practicing graciousness, balancing, etc.

We can better set aside our emotions, to achieve the peace we desire; the shadow side of this is a tendency to avoid direct confrontations. We see both sides -- and may also fear loss of approval -- so we can't decide. As best as you can, find your inner balance with this... and communicate what needs to be said with grace and charm.

Monday at 8:06pm EDT, the Moon aligns with the Sun in 19 degrees of Libra. This is the beginning of a new Moon cycle -- and, it officially ends Eclipse season.

With the New Moon in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra, we seek win-win situations, fair exchanges with others and harmonious connections within our relationships. This is a great time to begin a new project that calls for diplomatic, negotiation, and relationship skills.

Some questions for this new Moon cycle: Where is the balance point? What if harmony and peace were yours to create? It's also worth noting, that the more we are able to approve of ourselves, the easier it gets to create relationships that honor both parties equally.

The Libra energy encourages us to see both sides of a situation and find a middle path (or a win-win). In order to reconcile opposite energies, we need to engage heart and mind, and seek the highest and best outcome for everyone involved -- in other words, we need to see everyone as equally deserving. As best as we can, we need to seek these mutually beneficial relationships without compromising our essentials selves, values and goals.

The New Moon opposes Uranus in Ariesasking us to shift our perception and break free from relationships that stifle our unique spark, or leave us feeling "less than" or "more than". Any relationship that no longer allows us to express our true selves needs to be reexamined -- and either changed or ended.

Mercury aligns with the North Node in Libra, asking us to speak from our heart and create realistic, practical win/win collaborations or negotiations. We are also invited to improve our understanding of others, focusing on acceptance and integration -- this is an internal process too: The more we can integrate opposites within, the less we will project them onto the outside world, reducing conflict and increasing peace.

If we can come to see everyone and everything in the world as a reflection of what already exists inside of us, we no longer need to fight wars, small or large. By the same token, we can see the beauty that shines in each of us, and embrace it as our own.

Venus (ruler of Libra) is in a mutual reception to Mercury (ruler of Virgo) -- meaning they support each others agendas. Venus connects us to our heart chakra; Mercury to our every-day mind. With Venus journeying through Virgo and Mercury in Libra at the time of this New Moon, we have an opportunity to bring more clarity to our daily routines; in particular, we get to see how we can bring more balance to our work- and health-routines.

Venus is also making a square to Saturn in Sagittarius and an opposition to Neptune in Pisces. This creates a "T-square", with Saturn as the focus point; this invites us to reassess our values and beliefs around relationships -- we are being asked to slow down and create healthy boundaries with others, communicating what works for us and what doesn't. We'll need, in every new moment, to asses what is appropriate for us.

Any attempt to rush will result in inappropriate boundaries, rigidity, anxiety or overwhelm. For more on this subject, check out my video, "Saturn in Sagittarius until 2017"

Neptune in Pisces opposes Venus,Mars and Jupiter in Virgo at the time of the New Moon. This adds a touch of compassion and empathy, even a sense of oneness that can soften our judgments. It also inspires creativity and the feeling of being guided by intuition. Take care to avoid escapism of any kind (this includes "magical thinking").

Pluto ended its station last week; this provides an opportunity to take a giant step forward in our lives, by letting go of control and knocking down our "walls". The key is to open our hearts -- the moment we get scared, “old” traumas will force that opening.

The temptation here is to obsess over your long-term goals, out of a fear that there won't be enough recognition, progress, results, achievements, ability to provide, etc... As best as you can, surrender to the process, allow the experience to be what it is. You're safe and you're accomplishing things, making progress always -- even if it's not visible yet.

Self-care is a very important component in this: Without it, we can't accomplish much -- we're always behind the eight-ball. It's like they tell you on an airplane: Put your own oxygen mask on before helping others ;-)

If this New Moon had a core message, it would be: Keep improving your relationship to your health, yourself, others, the planet. Where does love need to go? Where have things gone out of balance? Where are you standing in service? If you'd like to learn more about all this, check out my New Moon video.

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in one of the following placements: 17-21 degrees of Libra, Aries, Capricorn or Cancer? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month's Moon cycle. Intentions are best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact -- and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase. So this month, the best time to set intentions would be any time between 5:38pm Tuesday afternoon until 8:06pm EDT Wednesday evening.

Part of the reason for this, is that on Monday at 8:06pm EDT, we enter a 21.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC), this lasts until 5:38pm EDT (Tuesday afternoon)Use this intuitive time to be still. Connect to your body's wisdom -- find your inner balance. As best as you can, try to find new perspectives in regards to how you relate to yourself and others. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow.

Tuesday: the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra all day (see Monday for details).

Tuesday early morning, an opportune Mercury/Saturn aspectbecomes exact at 5:54am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Oct.3rd on; it will be strong until this Thursday.Due to Mercury’s retrograde phase, this is actually the third time we have experienced this aspect within the last seven weeks. This is another opportunity to take responsibility for our thinking structures and be really honest with ourselves.

How can we get the most from this opportunity? It’s simple: Look for the larger truth. If we can go beyond what we have always known, we could get a helpful dose of reality — and an ability to focus on long-term issues. Since Mercury is no longer retrograde, we are able to address these issues with others now: What are we really trying to accomplish? What is reality showing us?

Remember, though: Opportunities are “openings”; they aren't necessarily handed to us -- we have to "take" them and make something of them.

Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 0-4 degrees of Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius or Leo? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Capricorn (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Saturn rules Capricorn)

Also on Tuesday, Mercury resumes its normal pace through the sky today, ending its station: Communication and transportation is now back to “normal”, as are any associated gadgets, vehicles, etc. New ideas and information received during the Mercury retrograde phase can now be reviewed -- What could you do with that now?

Tuesday at 5:38pm EDT, the Moon moves intopassionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will journey until Friday early morning. We feel emotions on a deeply personal level. We are motivated by the desire to get to the bottom of things -- superficiality won't work for us now -- and we instinctively read between the lines.

The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power; it's an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. This tends to be an emotionally colored, all-or-nothing, black or white experience -- it can therefore be an intimate, passionate time. As best as you can, avoid manipulation, brooding and suspicion; instead, open to the wealth of your innermost feelings -- decide to go deeper, allowing all feelings to surface, if they need to.

Embrace all of who you are. Know thyself, love thyself and you shall be set free. Remember: a deep love of all that we are will connect us to the Power within; Fear causes "Force" to show up -- and is ultimately what disempowers ourselves and others. This aspect also beginsthebuild-up toward the New Moon/Solar Eclipse, exact very soon after the Moon enters Scorpio…

Wednesday: the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day (see Tuesday late afternoon for details).

Wednesday evening at 8:58pm EDT, we enter a 35.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC), this lasts until 5:18am EDT (Friday morning)Use this intuitive time to go deeper in your exploration of Self. Get clear on where you "stand in service". As always during VoC, take it easy and avoid starting anything brand-new; in fact, since this is a very long VoC, plan your evening and tomorrow (Thursday) ahead of time if you can. If that's not possible, simply go with the flow -- 'cos the flow knows where to go ;-)

Thursday: the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio and VoC all day! (see Tuesday late afternoon and Wednesday evening for details).

Thursday late evening, a harmonious Mars/Pluto aspectbecomes exact at 11:36pm EDT. We started to feel this connection from last Saturday on; it will be strong until Tuesday of next week. This aspect brings a powerful ability to accomplish and go after our goals. We are able to see more clearly where we are heading and what we want to be committed to.

Our vitality and energy levels are at a high point. We are most likely feeling ambitious and dynamic right now. Our recuperative powers are excellent and our health is robust. We might feel inspired to build up our physical strength during this astrological influence, and this is a good idea; we can develop greater endurance and vitality now, which will rejuvenate our body.

This is definitely a strong energy for working steadily -- and in a practical, down-to-earth way -- on a project. It is also quite a sexy combination. As best as you can, use this powerful mixture of energies and go after the things you have been wanting for a while now -- and as Pluto is involved, use this energy to fulfill on your Soul's purpose.

Anything that we feel deeply passionate about and that feels in complete alignment with our deepest core, is very likely part of our Soul's journey. What moves you? What turns you on -- not just on a physical level but also on an emotional and spiritual level?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 10-16 degrees of Capricorn, Virgo or Taurus? If so, you will be even more blessed by this aspect than those who do not; this is also true for those of us with our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Scorpio (Mars being the ruler of Aries; Pluto rules Scorpio)

Friday at 5:18am EDT, the Moon moves into optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius, where it will journey until Sunday afternoon. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. The Sagittarius Moon persuades us to come from intuition and think in a broader manner.

We seek meaning and ideas that expand upon the "here and now"; we pursue truth and a new vision -- meaning the big picture, within the details (since Jupiter is in Virgo). Spontaneity is the key: we'd rather improvise than plan; this may tip into just "winging it". We could also overdo or overstate.

Friday late evening, a Venus/Neptune opposition becomes exact at 10:53pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Tuesday on; it will be strong until Wednesday of next week. We are ready to dissolve anything that we valued in the past that no longer serves either ourselves or humanity.

Our relationships might feel confusing, disappointing -- or they also might be dissolving. Whichever one it is, this is helping us get more connected with our inner knowingness, or our inner sensing of what feels "right".

This might not be the best time to start a new relationship, as we have the tendency to idealize others, which can bring disappointments down the line. As best as you can, find your inner balance with what's real and what's not… and allow others to be human ;-)

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following placements: 4-11 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Sagittarius or Gemini ? If so, you are more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Pisces (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Neptune rules Pisces).

Saturday: the Moon remains inoptimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius all day (see Friday early morning for details).

Saturday evening, a Mars/Jupiter alignment in 14 degrees of Virgo becomes exact at 6:40pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Monday on; it will be strong until Saturday of next week (Oct.24th). Mars's energy combines with Jupiter's expansiveness to increase our enthusiasm, liveliness, and optimism.

We enjoy travel, flying, the outdoors, competitive work, vigorous exercise and other Jupiter-ruled pursuits a lot more right now -- especially when they also fit our health regimes. We are more likely to bring a self-confident "can-do" attitude -- and even a certain relish -- to life's daily routines and to our work (where we exhibit a strong will to excel). We don't rest on our laurels; we keep going on to even bigger and better things.

Particularly when it comes to routines around health and day-to-day matters, this could prove a very productive and busy time; indeed, given our capacity for skillfully handling a wide variety of tasks at the same time, we risk overextending. Don't worry: Just pace yourself and go after your goals in the most practical and precise manner you can muster... Tomorrow is another day ;-)

The last Mars/Jupiter conjunction took place on May 1st, 2011. What did you begin then? How could that now be improved upon? What if that could now go to the next level? How might that come about?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 11-17 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini or Sagittarius? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Sagittarius (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius)

On Sunday at 4:48am EDT,  we enter a Moon void of course (VoC) that lasts a little over 10 hours, until 2:52pm EDTTake it easy during this intuitive time; try seeing it as an opportunity to expand relations with others. As always during VoC, do not start anything brand-new -- and as best as you can, go with the flow.

Sunday early afternoon, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 12:11pm EDT. This could contribute either to some mental confusion and spaciness, or the need to communicate with others from our imagination (but possibly not knowing how to achieve that). We started to feel this aspect from Saturday morning on; it will be strong until Monday evening.

This aspect operates more on an internal level: We feel uneasy about something, sort of "awkward" -- and we need to make a choice. Sometimes, imagination and mind can run way ahead of what is actually feasible (and sensible). At these times, the grand vision is best served by focusing on the next concrete step, accepting our own idiosyncrasies as we go.

Honesty is crucial here, especially self-honesty; inner awareness is in turn crucial to deep honesty and authenticity. What's true for you? What might be possible for humanity? Where do those overlap?

Note that I say "overlap": Don't look for an exact fit, this is more like two puzzle pieces that came from different jigsaw puzzles. You might keep looking at the imperfect fit and feel a nagging sense that something doesn't make sense… and it doesn't -- it can't. The pieces are not from the same game. Just do your best to "hang out" with the discomfort, rather than repeatedly trying to figure it out and fix it.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 6-8 degrees of Libra or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Pisces (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Neptune rules Pisces)

Sunday at 2:52pm EDT, the Moon moves into practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn, where it will journey until Tuesday evening. The Capricorn Moon emphasizes our need for structure and forward planning. We are motivated by a desire for success; achievement and manifestation are paramount.

We are resourceful and pursue economy with time, energy, and other resources. We take things more seriously during Moon in Capricorn: we look reality in the eye. This can be a very productive period. As best as you can, avoid "should-ing" on yourself. Take the pressure off: try saying "I am doing the best I can and that's all I can ever do"  ;-)

Saturn (ruler of Capricorn) is transiting through Sagittarius right now, making this a great time to explore our beliefs. It's also a great time to focus on the greater meaning of life and for going beyond conditioned thinking structures. As best as you can, be authentic about what you believe: Do your beliefs actually match your direct experience of life -- as it is for you now, in this moment, not how it was 5 or 10 years ago?

A head's up for next Monday: the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn all day (see Sunday afternoon for details).….more about all the other details in next week’s forecast ;-)

Have a fantastic week!
Many blessings,
Sonja
