I am realizing more and more how valuable relaxation and downtime is for our inner equilibrium and outer effectiveness. When we give ourselves time to think, process and digest without any obligations, pushing or deadlines, something miraculous happens: the universe connects with us in a way that was not possible before. Things line up, ideas come, energy flows beautifully. Life supports us as much as we support life ;-)
This week's headline items: Lots of planets changing signs this week: First, Venus changes signs from Scorpio to Sagittarius on Wednesday very early morning, then Mercury, from Capricorn to Aquarius on Friday evening and lastly, Mars from Libra to Scorpio on Sunday morning. Also worth mentioning: on Thursday, the Jupiter station intensifies and Mercury starts to slow down (station) preparing to come to a halt -- to its retrograde phase. Finally, the last Quarter Moon in Libra becomes exact on Friday night/Saturday very early morning.
There will also be three Moon Void of Course (VoC) phases this week, one of them lasting over 24 hours: Tuesday early afternoon (for almost 1.5 hours), Thursday night/Friday very early morning (a little over an hour), and Saturday (starting in the late morning and continuing for 27 hours).
Monday: the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo. It will journey there until Tuesday afternoon. We have a chance to appreciate ourselves and our lives -- and to connect to the heart. Hand out as many compliments as possible, they will be deeply appreciated :-)
Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones. What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you squeak just thinking about it?
Monday starts out with lots of opportunities to get things done and move exciting projects forward -- but by the late morning, we are asked to bring awareness to whatever we feel most passionate about long-term; this creates internal dissonance or unease.
Are we after laughter and joy? Or intense emotion and authentic accomplishments? As best as you can, make adjustments as needed, and drop any self-judgment.
In the early afternoon, we feel ease around self-expression and personal goals; it's a great time to look ahead to see how we can make a difference in the world by being uniquely ourselves.
As there are only a couple of days left of this month, I want to encourage you to take advantage of the December Special: Join my mailing list and receive the "Intro to Soul-Based Astrology" course for FREE ;-) -- just email [email protected] and put “NEWSLETTER” in the subject line.
Tuesday is a busy day! The Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo until 1:58pm EST (see Monday for details).
Tuesday morning, an opportune Sun/Neptune aspectbecomes exact at 8:18am EST. We have been feeling this aspect build from last Saturday on; it will be strong until this Friday. This aspect is an opportunity both to dissolve what no longer serves us, and to connect to our intuition. We definitely feel inspired.
Charitable acts lift our spirits -- our capacity for compassion (both toward ourselves and others) is quite strong, especially if we are able to acknowledge it. Dreams and reality find a way to work together now -- any spiritual or creative endeavors that are started during this time will most likely do very well. Remember: this is an "opportunity" -- it isn't just handed to us, we have to make it happen.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 4-11 degrees of Capricorn, Pisces, Taurus or Scorpio? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Pisces (the Sun rules Leo; Neptune is the ruler of Pisces).
Tuesday late morning, a challenging Mercury/Mars aspectbecomes exact at 9:52am EST. We have been feeling this aspect build from last Thursday on; it will be strong until January 8th (Friday of next week). This aspectbrings some juicy energy to our conversations. This is a chance to have some discussions that have been long overdue.
As best as you can, make it a productive discussion that serves you and others -- a win-win -- otherwise you might feel really awful afterwards. As best as you can, seek to empower yourself and the other person. Also, watch out on the road for some crazy drivers… rushing might not necessarily get you there any faster ;-)
Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 24-29 degrees of Capricorn, Libra, Aries, Canceror 0-2 degrees of Aquarius, Scorpio, Leo, Taurus? If so, you may feel more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Aries (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Mars rules Aries)
Tuesday at 12:38pm EST we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts almost 1.5-hour, until 1:58m EST. Use this intuitive time to make some adjustments and (as best as you can) and find creative solutions to seemingly unsolvable situations.
Make space for connecting deeply/intimately with someone and also for having some fun, letting your inner child come out and play. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow.
Tuesday at 1:58pm EST, the Moon moves into detail-oriented, practical Virgo, where it will journey until Thursday night/Friday very early morning. This turns our focus toward practical activities. Solving problems, making order out of confusion, helping others: all bring emotional satisfaction.
Health might come into focus. We notice the parts that make up the whole; this is a great time to see if our daily routines (eating, work, self-care, etc.), align with our long-term goals.
Wednesday: the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day (see Tuesday afternoon for details).
Wednesday very early morning, at 2:16am EST, Venus changes signs from intense, all-or-nothing Scorpio to adventurous, freedom-loving Sagittarius. It will journey there until Jan. 23rd; until then, we feel more social, and inclined especially to connect to people from different backgrounds and countries. We like to explore new things, whether food or social gatherings: if it's exotic, it's great!
We are more likely to take some risks now with others, and to say what's on our mind. Our relationships need to be connected to adventure -- a trip might be just the thing. Getting away from our routines and exploring life... hey, why not? :-)
Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra? If so, you will feel more adventurous and spontaneous for the next 4 weeks; your heart will want to explore new things and get a new perspective on life. If you are a Sagittarius Sun-sign or Rising-sign, for as long as Venus is in your sign, you will attract more love, abundance and beauty into your life.
Head's Up: DEAL OF THE MONTH ends tomorrow (Thursday)! Hint: This is a great offer for anyone who wants to be able to read their own birth chart (and understand their Soul's Journey more fully)... Click here to check it out
Thursday: the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day (see Tuesday afternoon for details).
Jupiter will come to a halt a week from today (Thursday), prior to going retrograde for 4 months; its station intensifies today. We will feel its energy more forcefully during the station-phase (which lasts until Jan. 19th).
We start to be more fully aware of Jupiter's energy; this awareness helps us to get more connected to those energies within us. We get to see where we need to embrace them more fully, so that we can use them in a healthy way, without getting lost in the lower vibrations of their expression.
Until Jan.19th, we have to face what this planet is trying to communicate to us: Jupiter represents our desire to seek insight through knowledge. Some of this planet's keywords include: morality; gratitude; hope; honor; the law. Jupiter is the planet of possibility, optimism and growth (including mental and spiritual growth). Jupiter is also associated with a sense of humor, goodwill, and mercy.
The lower expressions of Jupiter include "Oh, the heck with it", "I deserve this and more", "the rules do not apply to me" -- generally speaking: too much of a good thing, blind optimism, excess, stretching the truth, overindulgence.
Those of us who have any of our personal planets (or our Ascendent) in 21-25 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini or Sagittarius will be more affected by this station; as will those of us who have their Ascendent or Sun-sign in Sagittarius (Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius, so those folks will always be affected more strongly by Jupiter's movements and aspects).
Thursday evening (New Year's eve): Mercury starts to slow down (“station”), preparing to come to a halt next week Tuesday, Jan.5th (when it will begin its 3-week retrograde phase). More on that next week...
For the next 9 days (until Jan. 9th), we need to be patient with ourselves and others -- especially if there is a connection with communication or transportation, and their associated technologies. This is not the best time to start anything brand-new, especially if it contains new information that needs to be processed.
We might experience delays or misunderstandings, and things tend to feel "off" or stagnant. It might be a good idea to give yourself some extra time to get ready or travel somewhere -- especially if you intend to use public transportation or drive (For more details on Mercury Shadow Phases and Retrogrades, click here)
Some of us will feel the effects of this station more than others: those of us with Gemini or Virgo as our Sun- or Rising-Sign (Ascendant) -- and those of us with personal planets (or angles) in 27-29 degrees of Capricorn, Libra, Aries, Cancer or0-3 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Scorpio,Taurus
Thursday: The "DEAL OF THE MONTH" ends today at midnight! As a reminder, this is a great offer for anyone who wants to be able to read their own birth chart (and understand their Soul's Journey more fully)... Click here to check it out
2016 begins with a brief Moon VoC! Thursday night/Friday very early morning at 12:33am EST we enter a Moon void of course (VoC) that lasts for a little over one hour, until 1:41am EST. If you are awake at this time, tune into your well-being. You can also use this intuitive time to connect with others or yourself in a realistic, truthful way -- it will support your need for clarity and specificity.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new -- stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow -- you could also consider setting New Year's intentions either before or after the VoC ;-)
Friday at 1:41am EST, the Moon moves into harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra, where it will journey until Sunday afternoon. The energy of the Libra Moon wants to maintain equal relationships: we thus tend to spend more time on diplomacy -- making compromises, negotiating, practicing graciousness, balancing, etc.
We can better set aside our emotions, to achieve the peace we desire; the shadow side of this is a tendency to avoid direct confrontations. We see both sides -- and may also fear loss of approval -- so we can't decide. As best as you can, find your inner balance with this... and communicate what needs to be said with grace and charm. This also starts the build up towards the last Quarter Moon -- more on that tomorrow.
Friday at 9:20pm EST, Mercury changes signs from practical, cautious, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn to freedom-loving, forward-thinking, objective Aquarius, where it will journey only until Jan. 8th, due to the Mercury retrograde. For the next 7 days, we tend to contradict others more quickly, and offer a different perspective. We enjoy intellectual debates. We are quicker and more alert; our powers of observation are particularly strong.
We have something interesting to say, and our perspective on issues can be delightfully unusual and surprisingly insightful. This makes for some great conversations. We are more attracted to scientific and/or metaphysical pursuits right now. Anything that promises progress and advancement for mankind has special appeal.
Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo? If so, you will feel a greater need for focusing on your future and any humanitarian causes. Do you have your Ascendent or Sun-sign in Aquarius? If so, you will most likely feel more chatty for the next 7 days.
Saturday: the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra all day (see Friday very early morning for details).
Friday night/Saturday very early morning, at 12:30am EST, the last Quarter Moonbecomes exact in 11 degrees of Libra. We started to feel this aspect from the moment the Moon entered Libra, Friday very early morning . The Moon in relationship-oriented, harmony-loving Libra makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in ambitious, goal-oriented Capricorn. This may bring up some challenges. However, it also energizes us to look at what needs to be completed -- and what needs to be changed. This Moon phase brings us closer to the next New Moon (Jan. 9th).
With the last Quarter Moon, rather than starting major new projects, it serves us take a look at what was started around the time of the last New Moon -- in this case, around Dec. 11th. We now have about a week to wrap those projects up. What -- if anything -- needs last-minute adjustments? What did you discover since Dec. 11th? What did it mean for you? As best as you can, find creative solutions for anything that comes up, whether internally or with others.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 9-13 degrees of Libra, Capricorn, Aries or Cancer? If so, you are more affected by this month's last Quarter Moon. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer, since the Sun rules Leo and the Moon rules Cancer.
Saturday late morning, at 11:23am EST we enter a 27-hour Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts until 2:26pm EST (Sunday afternoon). Use this intuitive time to balance your need for equal and harmonious connection, with your drive toward personal visions and ideas.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan the second half of Saturday and Sunday morning ahead of time ;-)
Sunday: the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra and VoC until 2:36pm EST (see Friday very early morning for details).
Sunday at 9:32am EST, Mars changes signs from relationship-oriented, balance-seeking Libra to passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will travel until March 5th.
While Mars in Libra strives to bring fairness to the world, Mars in Scorpio knows that life simply isn't fair. Mars in Libra seeks the middle ground; Mars in Scorpio says "It's black or white: Pick one!" It's all about accepting challenges and making changes with concentrated energy and willpower.
We rely heavily on our gut feelings. We can see through others, could potentially exploit or (quietly but formidably) oppose them. We project cool equilibrium; below the surface may be another story -- in general, we don't want to show our hand…
We may be attracted to sexual taboos or fantasies in which the "other" surrenders their body and will completely -- and our sex appeal could perhaps be strong enough to bring that about.
Mars in Scorpio has a provocative quality to it: We might test ourselves and others. We make all kinds of rules and goals, just for the personal satisfaction that comes from achieving or mastering them. Our survival instincts are stronger; we more easily embrace our own animal nature, without guilt.
All this is especially true if you have an Aries or Scorpio Sun- or Rising-sign. Scorpios will feel unusually energized, passionate and direct -- and physically stronger. Aries will feel more intensely connected to others (and to life) for the next 5 weeks :-)
Sunday at 2:36pm EST, the Moon moves intopassionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will journey until Wednesday very early morning. We feel emotions on a deeply personal level. We are motivated by the desire to get to the bottom of things -- superficiality won't work for us now -- and we instinctively read between the lines.
The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power; it's an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. This tends to be an emotionally colored, all-or-nothing, black or white experience -- it can therefore be an intimate, passionate time. As best as you can, avoid manipulation, brooding and suspicion; instead, open to the wealth of your innermost feelings -- decide to go deeper, allowing all feelings to surface, if they need to.
Embrace all of who you are. Know thyself, love thyself and you shall be set free. Remember: a deep love of all that we are will connect us to the Power within; Fear causes "Force" to show up -- and is ultimately what disempowers ourselves and others.
A head's up for next Monday: the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothingScorpio all day (see Sunday afternoon for details).More about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)
Have a fantastic week and a Happy New Year!
