Last week started out hectic to say the least, but by the end of week, things had settled and I felt a lot more grounded. I keep coming back to looking at my level of Self-care and Self-compassion. My programming seems to be: accomplish and get great results as quickly as possible, only relax when I'm done with what I set out to do. It's like I'm always saying to myself "Don't stop, don't give up, do better..."
Of course, this part of my conditioned Self does not leave a lot of room for allowing, enjoying, and self-care. I know there is a part of me that is forgiving, kind and loving towards all of it, but sometimes -- especially when things get tight or stressful -- it seems so hard to access that part of myself. Awareness and compassion: I am doing the best I can, and that is all I can ever ask of myself. There's a long-term aspect that might be tied into all of this: the Jupiter/Chiron opposition, and then of course the Mars/Sun square from last week.

This week's headline items: the first Quarter Moon in Taurus becomes exact on Monday, very early in the morning; Venus changes signs from Capricorn to Aquarius on Tuesday late evening; the Sun enters Pisces on Thursday night/Friday very early morning.
There will also be four Moon VoC phases this week: Monday morning (for a little over 3.5 hours), Wednesday late morning (for almost 3 hours), Friday morning (for almost 12 hours), and Sunday evening (for almost 22 hours).
Monday: the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus until 9:35am EST. With the Moon in Taurus, we seek serenity, security, peace, comfort: The Moon is at her most sensual and constant in Taurus.
Our basic impulse is to relax, resist change, get comfortable: Life… slows… down... We may also be stubborn and materialistic under this influence. As best you can, stop and smell the roses during this time -- enjoy life and its offerings ;-) This Moon placement also starts the built-up towards the first Quarter Moon...
Monday at 2:46am EST,the first Quarter Moon in Taurus will become exact (we started to feel this aspect from the moment the Moon entered Taurus last Saturday). The Moon, in steady, peaceful, comfort-oriented Taurus, makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in freedom-loving, forward-thinking, rebellious Aquarius.
We feel compelled to take action. The New Moon took place last Monday (Feb. 8th); "seeds" planted then are probably "sprouting" by now -- and making first real contact with the outside world. This is therefore a time to stretch and grow -- and create some forward momentum. We may feel anxious or unusually busy.
As best as you can, take it one breath at a time. Allow for changes, remain flexible and find creative solutions in your day-to-day dealings with others.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in any of the following: 24-28 degrees of Taurus, Aquarius, Leo or Scorpio? If so, you will feel the effects of this first Quarter Moon more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
Monday morning at 5:54am EST,we enter a 3.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts until 9:35am EST. Use this intuitive time to enjoy solid, realistic, peaceful connections with others. It's best to move slow and not rush anything. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow.
Monday at 9:35am EST, the Moon moves into curious, versatile Gemini, where it will journey until Wednesday afternoon. The Gemini Moon keeps us social and busy. Interactions may take place online, on the phone, or face-to-face with those in our immediate environment. With this Moon placement, we like to multitask and stay engaged with life as much as possible: As long as we don't get bored, we're good.
Tuesday: the Moon remains in curious, versatile, chatty Gemini all day (see Monday late morning for details).
Tuesday late evening, at 11:17pm EST, Venus changes signs from productive, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn to freedom-oriented, forward-thinking Aquarius, where it will journey until March 12th. This requires that we provide more freedom in our relationships. Basically, we want to improve them, break away from what feels old or stale.
We want our intellectual qualities to be admired; we also want to connect to like-minded people that share our vision — so friendships and networking will be favored for the next 3 weeks. We may consider unusual financial investments. This is a good time for financial undertakings involving the following areas: electronics, technology and the internet, metaphysics, the arts group activities.
Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aquarius? If so, this placement will bring extra love and beauty into your life. Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra? If so, you may feel the need for freedom or change in your relationships more strongly.
Wednesday: the Moon remains in curious, versatile, chatty Gemini until 2:24pm EST (see Monday late morning for details).
Wednesday late morning at 11:37am EST we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for almost 3-hours, until 2:24pm EST. Use this intuitive time to connect to others and share your vision for a better future. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow.
Wednesday at 2:24pm EST, the Moon moves into protective, introverted Cancer, where it will journey until Friday evening. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say to (and about) us, so be kind to yourself and others. Emotional safety is important to us at this time: We like connecting to the familiar, home or family becomes our sanctuary.
Nurture yourself and others, but remember: Make sure your glass is filled before letting others drink from it — otherwise we might start resenting others for draining our energies.
Thursday: the Moon remains in protective, introverted Cancer all day (see Wednesday afternoon for more details).
Thursday morning and afternoon: it's all about self-care. Spiritual and creative endeavors are favored, as is going with the flow. Towards the evening, we may start to feel uneasy about something, sort of "awkward" -- we need to develop inner awareness and make some adjustments.
Later in the evening, the Moon makes a T-square with Pluto and Uranus, inviting us to look for creative solutions and focus on cooperation and collaboration. As best as you can, find win-win solutions and come from love rather than fear.
There may also be a tension between our need to zoom ahead, versus our desire to nurture and be nurtured -- to feel safe in the world. Others are wrestling with this same tension, so we may feel impatient with them, and they with us. As best as you can, be kind with yourself and others, and make adjustments to manage these incompatible energies.
Friday:the Moon remains in protective, introverted Cancer until 9:17pm EST (see Wednesday afternoon for more details).
Thursday night/Friday very early morning, at 12:34am EST, the Sun changes signs from freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius to creative, compassionate Pisces, where it will journey until March 20th. This brings our awareness to our sense of oneness with everyone and everything around us. We feel like sponges, able to pick up all energy around us; this also makes us more sensitive and emotional. We are more drawn towards expressing ourselves in a creative or spiritual way.
Music or energy healing gives us vitality and can heighten our own personal vibrations. We need to slow down a little and listen to our intuition more fully -- if we ignore our feelings and the subtle messages we are getting, we will most likely feel more anxious and somewhat frustrated. This could also be connected to the slow pace that our body or our surroundings are demanding of us.
The keyword here is "allowing": as best as you can, be aware of what you are resisting, moment to moment, and create some space -- allow it to be as it is. Notice when you are sensing someone else's feelings rather than your own.
All this is especially true if you are a Leo or Pisces Sun-sign or Rising-sign. As a Pisces, you will feel a good dose of confidence and playfulness in the next four weeks; as a Leo your vitality will depend on allowing things to flow and being gentle with yourself.
Friday morning at 9:36am EST, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for almost 12-hours, until 9:17pm EST. Use this intuitive time to move forward with family and/or home plans and projects. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan your day ahead of time ;-)
Friday evening at 9:17pm EST, the Moon moves into extroverted, fun and attention-loving Leo, where it will journey until Monday morning. We have a chance to appreciate ourselves and our lives -- and to connect to the heart. Hand out as many compliments as possible, they will be deeply appreciated :-)
Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones. What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you squeak just thinking about it?
Saturday: the Moon remains in extroverted, fun and attention-loving Leo all day (see Friday evening for more details).
Saturday is all about creating a balance between head and heart -- and between our vision for the future versus what brings us joy in the here and now. It comes down to this: if we want to see a greater shift in the world at large, we must each do our own part, and share our unique gifts. As best as you can, be authentic about what you love, and what turns you on.
Sunday: the Moon remains in extroverted, fun and attention-loving Leo all day (see Friday evening for more details).
Sunday evening at 8:17pmEST, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts almost 10-hours, until 6:24am EST (Monday morning). Use this intuitive time to make some adjustments and (as best as you can) and find creative solutions to seemingly unsolvable situations. Make space for deeply passionate, authentic interactions, and for fun — explore, take a risk.
If at all possible though, refrain from actually starting anything brand-new — in fact, plan your evening and Monday early morning ahead of time, or stick to routine things. If you can't… simply go with the flow.
A head's up for next Monday: the Moon remains in extroverted, fun and attention-loving Leo and VoC until 6:24am EST. At that time, the Moon moves into detail-oriented, practical Virgo, where it will journey until Wednesday late afternoon. This Moon placement also starts the build up towards the Full Moon (exact at 1:20pm EST) More about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)
