Last week definitely had some intensity to it -- I could feel that Mars and Pluto Station -- impatience, feeling annoyed and finding fault with other people... Noticing my own relationship to anger was part of the discovery.
Something that fed into the frustration I felt toward others was a lack of movement in my own life -- a frustration around having to deal with the same issues over and over again, without resolving them. Thank goodness for all the exercising, coaching and healing in my life -- it helps discharge a lot of energies in a healthy way (or helps transform them through compassionate awareness). I highly recommend it ;-)
This week's headline items: the Mars and Pluto stations are very strong this week; we can start to take actions on our New Moon intentions from Monday morning on; the first Quarter Moon in Cancer becomes exact on Wednesday, late in the evening; Mercury enters its shadow phase on Thursday afternoon; Mars comes to a complete halt on Sunday morning (starting it's 2.5-month retrograde phase).
There will also be three Moon VoC phases this week: Monday mid afternoon (for a little over 13 hours), Wednesday late evening (for almost 10 hours), and Saturday early afternoon (for 5.5 hours).
Monday (April 11th): the Moon remains in curious, versatile, chatty Gemini all day. It will journey there until Tuesday morning. The Gemini Moon keeps us social and busy. Interactions may take place online, on the phone, or face-to-face with those in our immediate environment. With this Moon placement, we like to multitask and stay engaged with life as much as possible: As long as we don't get bored, we're good.
If you set intentions last Thursday (right after the New Moon became exact), or Friday (after the Moon VoC was over), Monday morning (before 2:57pm EDT) will be a great time to take relevant actions.
If you wrote your intentions down, go back and take another look at what came through intuitively. If you didn’t write anything down, get quiet for a moment and check in with yourself: What actions are calling to you?
Monday at 2:57pm EDT we enter a 13-hour Moon void of course (VoC).that lasts until 4:07am EDT (Tuesday morning). Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to connect to people that might support your projects and sentiments and bring a new perspective to what you do.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan your Monday afternoon and evening ahead of time ;-)
Lastly, I want to mention again that Mars and Pluto's "stations" have intensified and can be felt all week (as they are both preparing to come to a halt and go retrograde). When a planet stations, it moves through the sky much more slowly than normal; its energy becomes more "exalted" and is therefore "in our face". Let's look at each stationing planet in turn:
Mars represents our assertiveness, independence and “masculine” energy. It is also associated with new initiatives, going after one's goals, and with physical actions.
With Mars' energy exalted, we are more aware of these things -- but are not necessarily able to do anything about any of it. This may bring up impatience, frustration or even outright anger. What's more, since Mars is in Sagittarius right now, we may express this anger more openly, even exaggeratedly... Should this arise, try bringing humor to it -- this could prove an inspired way to deal with it all.
Pluto is associated with our soul purpose. It relates to the process of empowerment -- our ability to feel empowered from within, through the experience of wholeness -- and to our deepest passions.
To get to a place of truthfulness on the soul level, Pluto will remove what no longer serves us, replacing it with something new -- something fully aligned with our deepest passions and soul purpose.
To the extent we resist these deep changes, we'll suffer, but if we can surrender and allow for that process to take place, we'll grow in authenticity, and feel a newness and empowerment from within. Look for what might no longer be in alignment with your soul's purpose (your deep authentic Self).
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in the following degrees and signs: 5-9 degrees of Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo or Pisces? Or perhaps in 15-19 degrees of Capricorn, Aries, Cancer or Libra? If so, you will be more affected by these stations. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Scorpio (Mars is the ruler of Aries, and Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio).
Tuesday (April 12th) at 4:07am EDT, the Moon moves into protective, introverted Cancer, where it will journey until Thursday late morning. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say to (and about) us, so be kind to yourself and others. Emotional safety is important to us at this time: We like connecting to the familiar, home or family becomes our sanctuary.
Nurture yourself and others, but remember: Make sure your glass is filled before letting others drink from it — otherwise we might start resenting others for draining our energies. This Moon placement starts the build-up towards the first Quarter Moon (exact on Wednesday late evening).
Tuesday morning, an opportune Mercury/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 5:40am EDT. We started to feel this connection from last Sunday evening on; it will be strong until this Wednesday evening. This is an opportunity to bring compassion and an intuitive approach to our thinking process. Having faith and connecting to our Higher Selves will be of service to us at this time.
Listen to your body, listen to your heart and as best as you can, hear those messages. Any artistic or spiritual endeavors are likely to do better at this time. Music might help us with our thinking process and our ability to get things done. Let yourself be inspired! A book, a song, a movie, someone else's words… allow the Universe to speak to you.
Open your mind to a higher vibration, allow for any and all conditioning to dissolve that is holding you back. Remember: opportunities are openings; they aren't necessarily handed to us -- we have to "take" them and make something of them.
Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 9-13 degrees of Taurus, Pisces, Capricorn or Cancer? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Pisces (Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo; Neptune rules Pisces)
Tuesday afternoon, a harmonious Venus/Mars aspect becomes exact at 3:16pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last Saturday night on; it will be strong until this Thursday evening. We tend to feel passionate, highly creative and energized at this time, with lots of vitality and warmth to share.
We are able to actively bring people together for mutual pleasure and benefit. That’s not surprising, considering we radiate charm, vitality, and enthusiasm -- we find it easy during this time to get along with both sexes. There is also a certain amount of flow when it comes to creativity and athletic abilities: If you knew you could accomplish something now with ease, what would you pick?
Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 5-12 degrees of Aries, Sagittarius or Leo? If so, you may feel more blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Aries (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Mars rules Aries)
Wednesday (April 13th): the Moon remains in protective, introverted Cancer all day (see Tuesday morning for more details).
Wednesday at 11:59pm EDT, the first Quarter Moon in 24 degrees of Cancer becomes exact. We started to feel this aspect from the moment the Moon entered Cancer on Tuesday morning. The Moon in protective, introverted Cancer makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in bold, fast-paced Aries.
We feel compelled to take action. The New Moon took place less than a week ago, Thursday (April 7th); any projects or initiatives begun around then are probably off the ground by now -- and facing their first obstacles. This aspect provides a time to stretch and grow, thereby creating some forward momentum.
We may feel anxious or unusually busy: As best as you can, go one breath at a time. Allow for changes, remain flexible, and find creative solutions for your day-to-day dealings with others.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in any of the following: 22-26 degrees of Cancer, Aries, Capricorn or Libra? If so, you will feel the effects of this first Quarter Moon more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
Right when the first Quarter Moon becomes exact (11:59pm EDT) we also enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts almost 10 hours, until 9:53am EDT (Thursday late morning). There may be a tension between our need to zoom ahead, versus a desire to nurture, be nurtured and feel safe in the world.
Others are also wrestling with this tension, so we may feel impatient with them; use this intuitive time to make adjustments and find creative ways to manage these incompatible energies. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan your Thursday morning ahead of time ;-)
Thursday (April 14th): the Moon remains in protective, introverted Cancer and VoC until 9:53am EDT (see Tuesday morning and Wednesday late evening for more details). At that time, the Moon moves into fun and attention-loving Leo, where it will journey until Saturday evening.
We have a chance to appreciate ourselves and our lives -- and to connect to the heart. Hand out as many compliments as possible, they will be deeply appreciated :-) Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones. What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you squeak just thinking about it?
Thursday late morning, a harmonious Mercury/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 11:27am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Tuesday on, it will be strong until Saturday night. We are more optimistic and realistic, which is good, since we see the bigger picture, communicate more positively and readily inspire others.
We are tolerant of other perspectives and ideas, naturally avoid narrow-minded thinking, and feel at ease reconnecting with people from all walks of life.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 11-17 degrees of Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn? If so, you will feel most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Jupiter of Sagittarius).
Also on Thursday, at 1:55pm EDT, Mercury enters a 2-week shadow phase, as it reaches 14 degrees of Taurus. This precedes the retrograde phase, which will begin on April 28th. If you want to buy, sell or ship big-ticket items -- especially connected to transportation (cars, airline tickets, etc.) or communication devices (phone, computer, iPad, etc.) -- be aware of the shadow periods as well as the retrograde phases.
If possible, get these things done before Mercury enters it's shadow or wait until after the shadow phases are over (in this case: June 7th). Of course, if there is something that must get done during these phases, don't put your whole life on hold, just because Mercury is retrograde or in it's shadow. Sometimes things line up exactly at the “right” time. As best as you can, trust your intuition ;-)
Friday (April 15th): the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo all day (see Thursday late morning for details).
Friday late evening, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 10:28pm EDT. This will contribute either to a lack of mental and physical energy, or a need to focus on our life perspectives. We started to feel this aspect from Thursday night on; it will be strong until Saturday evening. This aspect operates more on an internal level: We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice.
The sheer scope of our goals in life can require more effort than is immediately obvious. Hard work can take its toll on our health. If we partition our big ideas into achievable segments -- and go one clear action step at a time -- we can move forward while maintaining inner peace and outer health. Use your time wisely! Develop the inner awareness needed, so you can see what needs adjusting.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 15-17 degrees of of Taurus or Sagittarius? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Capricorn (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Saturn rules Capricorn)
Saturday (April 16th): the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo until 7:23pm EDT (see Thursday late morning for details).
Saturday at 1:48pm EDT, we enter a 5.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts until 7:23pm EDT. Think about all the creative, fun things you could do this afternoon…pick one and let your heart jump high into the sky! We are also more inclined to be social. If you want to make plans with others, make them before the Moon VoC begins or simply go with the flow ;-)
Saturday at 7:23pm EDT, the Moon moves into detail-oriented, practical Virgo, where it will journey until Tuesday morning. This turns our focus toward practical activities -- reorganizing and rethinking our plans, perhaps. Solving problems, making order out of confusion, helping others: all of these bring emotional satisfaction.
Health matters might come into focus. We notice the parts that make up the whole; this is a great time to look at our daily routines (eating, work, self-care, etc.), to see if they are in alignment with our long-term goals.
Saturday late evening, a somewhat challenging Venus/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 9:26pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Friday on; it will be strong until Sunday evening. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed in order to see what needs adjusting.
This aspect is a fork in the road: We could take a path that leads toward following our personal goals and inspiring others by being direct and enthusiastic. We could also take the path that will lead to us increasing our understanding of health and well-being. Either way, we can develop a new perspective on how to approach these things in our daily routines. Awareness is key with this aspect: What is needed? How can we serve the broader view?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 13-15 degrees of Aries or Virgo? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Sagittarius (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).
Last but not least, Saturday is also the day before Mars comes to a complete halt: for the next three days (until Monday evening) we will feel the "non-movement" of this energy very strongly. Frustrations and built-up anger may be a part of that, as may incredible impatience, self-centeredness and struggling to move forward.
As best as you can, allow yourself to simply feel all of it, without trying to do anything about it in the moment. Take deep breaths and know that none of what you are experiencing is truly personal, even if it might feel that way. Physical exercise might be helpful, as long as you don't push yourself too hard -- and remember: this is temporary! ;-)
Sunday (April 17th): the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day (see Saturday evening for details).
Sunday morning, a harmonious Mercury/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 5:23am EDT. We started feeling this aspect build from Monday on; it will be strong until Wednesday night. Our words and our "speaking" are very grounded and realistic. We can feel really empowered by what we say (and how we say it) during this time. Our conviction and passion helps us to connect and empower others.
We are strongly connected to our inner truth and can analyze and understand our motivations toward long-term goals. We investigate our own beliefs about the meaning of life in a very realistic way and look to see what needs to be done next.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 10-16 degrees of Taurus, Capricorn or Virgo? If so, you will be even more blessed by this aspect than those who do not; this is also true for those of us with our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Scorpio (Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo, Pluto rules Scorpio).
Sunday at 8:14am EDT, Mars comes to a halt in almost 9 degrees of Sagittarius, to start its 2.5 months retrograde phase. We’re called to reassess our belief systems — especially those beliefs we have about ourselves, about the nature of "doing" and "pursuing" (the masculine energies within us). This is also a call to look at what we’ve been doing since mid February -- we may need to redo or realign anything that’s out of whack with our inner sense of truth.
We are definitely being invited to go within and tap into our inner assertiveness and strengths — getting ready for the next phase of our lives. This is prep time: Rather than start anything brand-new, go over what you already have cooking, or investigate future projects. Ask yourself: What would readiness look like? If there was something coming at the end of June/early July, that I needed to be ready for, what might that be?
Is your Sun sign or Ascendant in Aries? Or do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 0-11 degrees of Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo, Pisces or 21-29 degrees of Scorpio, Taurus, Leo or Aquarius? If so, you will be more affected by this retrograde phase.
Last but not least, Sunday is also the day before Pluto comes to a complete halt. Keep in mind that that the next three days (until Tuesday evening) is when we will feel the "non-movement" of this energy the strongest. Feelings we've suppressed might come to the surface now. Things pop up that feel either disempowering to us -- or we abuse our own power and thereby disempower others.
As best as you can, pay attention to fear-based attachments. Allow yourself to tap into parts of yourself that you have denied, rejected, discarded and shunned. Any form of therapy or coaching might be helpful in supporting you with this, as long as you don't push yourself to deal with traumatic events from the past that you are not ready for.
A head's up for next Monday (April 18th): the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day (see Saturday evening for details). At 3:26am EDT,Pluto comes to a halt in 17 degrees of Capricorn. At 8:29am EDT, we enter at 23-hour Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts until 7:24am EDT (Tuesday morning). In the late morning, a harmonious Venus/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 10:37am EDT. We started feeling this aspect build from Saturday on; it will be strong until Wednesday night. More about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)
