The beginning of last week felt smooth and beautiful. As the week went on, I could feel the Mercury Station (communication issues) and a deep desire to break free from restrictions and "old" ways of being and thinking (I could sense that the Venus/Uranus conjunction in Aries had a lot to do with that :-)
This week's headline items: the Mercury Station intensifies on Monday -- and Mercury comes to halt starting its 3.5 week retrograde phase on Thursday afternoon; Venus changes signs (from Aries to Taurus) on Friday evening; the last Quarter Moon phase in Aquarius becomes exact on Friday late evening.
There will also be three Moon VoC phases this week: Tuesday late morning (for 8 hours), Friday very early morning (for a little over 1.5 hours) and Saturday late evening (for almost 12 hours).
Monday (April 25th): the Moon remains in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius all day. It will journey there until Tuesday evening. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. The Sagittarius Moon persuades us to come from intuition and think in a broader manner.
We seek meaning and ideas that expand upon the "here and now"; we pursue truth and a new vision -- the big picture, rather than the details. Spontaneity is key, we'd rather improvise than plan; this may tip into just "winging it". We could also overdo or overstate.
Also on Monday, the Mercury Station intensifies today, as Mercury is preparing to come to halt on Thursday (starting its 3.5-week retrograde phase). During the station, we feel Mercury's energies more strongly.
Pay attention to anything "in your face" in any of the following areas: communications, short travels, transportation of any kind, communication devices. You will get a chance to make adjustments during the retrograde -- or the shadow phase that follows.
For the next 10 days, we might experience delays or misunderstandings; things could feel "off" or stagnant. It might be a good idea to give yourself some extra time when getting ready to go somewhere -- and that goes for the journey itself, too -- especially if you intend to drive or use public transportation. Going with the flow is definitely recommended at this time.
Be extra-patient if you intend to buy, sell or ship big-ticket items, especially if they are transportation or communication devices like anything connected with planes, trains, cars, phones, computers, iPads, etc. Best of all (if possible): wait until after June 7th, when the shadow phase is over.
Some of us will feel the effects of the Mercury station more than others: those of us who have Gemini or Virgo as our Sun- or Rising-Sign (Ascendant); and those of us with personal planets in 21-24 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo or Aquarius.
Tuesday (April 26th): the Moon remains inoptimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius until 7:54pm EDT (see Monday for details).
Tuesday at 11:51am EDT, we enter an 8-hour Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts until 7:54pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to enjoy an adventure or exciting activities. We have plenty of energy... So enjoy -- and go for it! As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan the second half of Tuesday ahead of time ;-)
Tuesday at 7:54pm EDT, the Moon moves into practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn, where it will journey until Thursday night/Friday very early morning. The Capricorn Moon emphasizes our need for structure and forward planning. We are motivated by a desire for success; achievement and manifestation are paramount.
We are resourceful and pursue economy with time, energy, and other resources. We take things more seriously during Moon in Capricorn: we look reality in the eye. This can be a very productive period. As best as you can, avoid "should-ing" on yourself. Take the pressure off: try saying "I am doing the best I can and that's all I can ever do" ;-)
Saturn (ruler of Capricorn) is transiting through Sagittarius right now, making this a great time to explore our beliefs. It's also a great time to focus on the greater meaning of life and for going beyond conditioned thinking structures. As best as you can, be authentic about what you believe: Do your beliefs actually match your direct experience of life -- as it is for you now, not how it was 5 or 10 years ago?
Wednesday (April 27th): the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn all day (see Tuesday evening for details).
Wednesday evening, a somewhat challenging Sun/Mars aspect becomes exact at 9:45pm EDT. We started to feel this from Tuesday evening on; itwill be strong until Friday morning. We feel uneasy about something, sort of awkward; we need to make a choice. We need to develop inner awareness, so we can make adjustments.
This might concern compromising with others. Our enthusiasm might make us impatient or hasty with others. As best as you can, keep choosing the "better" alternative, adjusting as needed.
When life slows down, or becomes uncomfortable, simplify and be patient. We are changing and growing in ways that we can't comprehend right now. Stay as open and observant as you can.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 7-9 degrees of Taurus or Sagittarius? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Aries (the Sun rules Leo; Mars rules Aries)
Thursday (April 28th): the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn all day (see Tuesday evening for details).
As mentioned in Monday’s forecast,Mercury comes to a halt at 23 degrees of Taurus onThursday at 1:20pm EDTand starts its 3.5-week retrograde phase.
This slows things down tremendously today and tomorrow (Friday). Give yourself extra time to go to work this morning or to get things done. If you are traveling today, just simply go with the flow… you'll get there... eventually ;-) This retrograde phase will last until May 22nd.
That said, Mercury going retrograde is not a signal to just stop one's life -- it's better to think of it as a chance to resolve issues around finances, self-worth and our natural gifts and talents — especially if those issues emerged some time within the last three weeks.
Use this time to look at your thought processes and get to the heart of what you really value. Observe your inner dialog around money, the physical body, and how you relate to life's pleasures. This is also a good time to readdress anything connected to finances and physical possessions.
In like manner, the next 3.5 weeks provide an opportunity to explore how much we value ourselves -- our self-worth. We do best when we honor and communicate our value from the inside out, and then connect our gifts, talents and experience to our value in the world. This retrograde is, in other words, an opportunity to tap more into our connection with the physical plane.
As always with Mercury retrograde, always read the small print, reread contracts before signing and seek second opinions. We need to bring heightened awareness during these periods, double-checking to catch details that we might have overlooked... and checking in with our intuition... and staying open to the possibility of future renegotiations or adjustments!
In general, Mercury Retrograde is a great time for reevaluating and reorganizing. This is especially true for our thought patterns and decisions (particularly those made in the 3 weeks prior to the start of the retrograde) -- but it's true of our lives in general: We can reach a deeper understanding of what works and what doesn't. Also favored: Reconnecting with old friends, family members and clients.
Mercury also represents our day-to-day mind; as such, this too is experienced more internally during retrogrades. When it comes to communication, make sure that what you say, write and hear is the same as the intended meaning -- and use the spell-checker ;-)
Another thing to take into consideration: How does this particular Mercury retrograde affect your personal birth chart? Do you have any personal planets that will align with Mercury during its retrograde journey? The houses of your chart each represent different areas of your life -- which are affected?
You can expect more impact from this retrograde if any of the following apply to you: Gemini or Virgo Sun- or Rising-Sign (Ascendant); Ascendant, Career Point, or personal planets in 12-25 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo and Aquarius.
If you aren't sure, and would like to know, feel free to reach out for a Mini Reading. I'd be very happy to support you in gaining a deeper understanding of this retrograde and its impact on you personally :-)
Friday (April 29th) at 3:07am EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for a little over 1.5 hours, until 4:47am EDT. If you are awake during this time, there may be a tension between your need to “get it right” by going one step at a time, versus your desire to zoom ahead. Others are also wrestling with this tension -- so we may feel impatient with them.
Use this intuitive time to make adjustments and find creative solutions to these incompatible energies. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow.
Friday at 4:47am EDT, the Moon moves into freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, where it will journey until Sunday late morning. The energy of the Aquarian Moon relates to our instinct for improvement. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional; interactions more impersonal than personal. We are likely to have an increased fascination with the new and unusual.
Social gatherings, anything connected with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas and methods, progress: all these are promoted during the time the Moon moves through Aquarius. Again: we have our eyes on the future -- or on outer space :-) Personal freedom becomes paramount.
Friday at 8:36pm EDT, Venus changes signs from fast-paced, enthusiastic, active Aries into steady, sensualTaurus, where she will journey until May 24th. For the next 3.5 weeks, we love receiving physical pleasures and comforts. Our relationships are centered around delicious foods, wine and sensuality.
"Simple and natural" is key. Our financial issues and dealings are being carefully and lovingly considered, we are not easily persuaded to take risks, we'd rather spend our money on a massage or a good meal.
Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign inTaurus or Libra? If so, you will feel even more attracted to physical pleasures and comfort for the next 3.5 weeks. Your heart will want loyalty and consistency. Connecting to nature or anything simple and organic is going to feels especially comforting.
Friday late evening, the last Quarter Moon in 10 degrees of Aquarius is exact at 11:29pm EDT: the Moon in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in steady, down-to-earth Taurus. This may bring challenges; however, it also energizes us to look at what needs to be completed -- and what needs to be changed.
With the last Quarter Moon, rather than starting major new projects, it serves us take a look at what was started around the time of the last New Moon -- in this case, around April 7th. We now have about a week to wrap those projects up. What -- if anything -- needs last-minute adjustments? What did you discover since April 7th? What did it mean for you?
As best as you can, find creative solutions for anything that comes up between yourself and others -- and for any internal conflicts.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 8-12 degrees of Taurus, Aquarius, Leo or Scorpio? If so, you will feel this month's last Quarter Moon quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
Saturday (April 30th): the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius all day (see Friday morning for details).
Saturday at 10:56pm EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for almost 12 hours, until 10:33am EDT (Sunday late morning). We may experience a pull toward two poles: on the one hand, a need to break the rules and make a move towards our future visions; on the other hand, a desire to be practical and connected to what actually works.
Use this intuitive time to make adjustments and find creative solutions, when it comes to this polarity. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan your evening and Sunday morning ahead of time ;-)
Sunday (May 1st): the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius and VoC until 10:33am EDT (see Friday morning for details).
Sunday morning, an opportune Sun/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 8am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Thursday evening on; it will be strong until Tuesday of next week. This aspect is an opportunity both to dissolve what no longer serves us, and to connect to our intuition. We definitely feel inspired.
Charitable acts lift our spirits -- our capacity for compassion (both toward ourselves and others) is quite strong, especially if we are able to acknowledge it. Dreams and reality find a way to work together now -- any spiritual or creative endeavors that are started during this time will most likely do very well. Remember: this is an "opportunity" -- it isn't just handed to us, we have to make it happen.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 9-14 degrees of Taurus, Pisces, Capricorn or Cancer? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Pisces (the Sun rules Leo; Neptune is the ruler of Pisces).
Sunday at 10:33am EDT, the Moon moves into creative, sensitive Pisces, where it will journey until Tuesday afternoon. The energy of the Pisces Moon bears on the need for connection to our higher selves. It can be a wistful, sensitive and compassionate time; we are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns.
Boundaries and walls come down; we feel energetically connected to everything around us. As best as you can, therefore, be kind to yourself and others -- surround yourself with loving energy. It's a time best used for spiritual or creative endeavors and for dissolving our fears and doubts. Feelings tend to flow more freely; as best as you can, let them ;-)
A head's up for next Monday (May 2nd): the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day (see Sunday late morning for details). Monday starts like a dream. It might take a little longer to wake up this morning. More about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)
