Our Ability To Grow -- Astrology Forecast for Mon., May 2nd - Sun., May 8th, 2016

Please note that all times given below are Eastern Daylight Savings Time -- to change the listed times to your own timezone, I recommend clicking here for the time and date converter

I got this last week from Mike Dooley's "Messages from the Universe" (tut.com); I wanted to share it, because it fits so well with what is going on astrologically: "What if suddenly, dear one, in a flash of fire and light, you suddenly understood, without a doubt, the creative power of your word. Do you think you'd ever again utter: 'it's hard', 'it's not working', 'I can't do this', 'something's wrong with me', 'I'm not enough', or 'I don't know'?... You got 'it'!" -- The Universe

This week's headline items: Jupiter starts its station on Monday (and it will intensify on Thursday evening);Mercury ends its station on Wednesday evening; the New Moon in Taurus becomes exact on Friday afternoon; and the Mars station ends on Sunday morning.

There will also be three Moon VoC phases this week: Tuesday very early morning (for 12 hours), Thursday very early morning (for 13 hours), and Friday late evening (for 14.5 hours)

Monday (May 2nd): the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day. It will journey there until Tuesday early afternoon. The energy of the Pisces Moon bears on the need for connection to our higher selves. It can be a wistful, sensitive and compassionate time; we are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns.

Boundaries and walls come down; we feel energetically connected to everything around us. As best as you can, therefore, be kind to yourself and others -- surround yourself with loving energy. It's a time best used for spiritual or creative endeavors and for dissolving our fears and doubts. Feelings tend to flow more freely; as best as you can, let them ;-)

Monday starts like a dream -- it might take a little longer to wake up -- as the day goes on we feel quite optimistic. We have the opportunity to bring love and compassion to ongoing projects today; we can also see many possibilities and communicate them to others. In other words: We feel inspired!

Also on Monday, Jupiter starts to slow down its speed (stationing), preparing to come to a halt on May 9th (after having been retrograde for the past 4 months). This station will last until May 13th

When a planet stations, we start to be more fully aware of its energy; this awareness helps us to get more connected to those energies as they exist within us. We get to see where we need to embrace them more fully, so that we can use them in a healthy way, without getting lost in the lower vibrations of their expression.

Jupiter represents our desire to seek insight through knowledge. Some of this planet's keywords: morality; gratitude; hope; honor; the law. Jupiter is the planet of possibility, optimism, wisdom, understanding and growth (including mental and spiritual growth). Jupiter is also associated with our sense of humor, generosity, tolerance, goodwill, and mercy.

The lower expressions of Jupiter include irresponsibility -- too much of a good thing, leading to blind optimism, excess, and overindulgence.

We have been connecting internally to our wisdom and ability to grow for the past four months. What did you discover about your ability to learn and grow since January? Do you have a better understanding of your own inner wisdom and how to access it? How could those discoveries change how you live in the world?

Those of us who have any of our personal planets (or our Ascendent) in 11-15 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini or Sagittarius will be more affected by this station. This is also true for those of us with their Ascendent or Sun-sign in Sagittarius (Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius, so those folks will always be affected more strongly by Jupiter's movements and aspects).

Tuesday (May 3rd): the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces until 1:04pm EDT (see Monday for details).

Tuesday at 1:08am EDT, we enter a 12-hour Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts until 1:04pm EDT. As best as you can, have a nice, intuitive, slow start to the day. Take your time to appreciate all the beauty and wonderful connections you have in your life.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan the first half of Tuesday ahead of time ;-)

Tuesday morning, a harmonious Sun/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 3:58am EDT. We started to feel this from last Friday evening on; it will be strong until this Friday.  It’s an opportunity to see things from a different perspective. What will lead us to this new vantage point? Optimism, an open mind, an open heart: Follow your enthusiasm as if it were a wilderness guide — and let yourself be creative and free.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 10-16 degrees of Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn? If so, you will be more blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Sagittarius (the Sun rules Leo; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).

Tuesday at 1:04pm EDT, the Moon enters pioneering, fast-paced Aries, where it will journey until Thursday early afternoon. The energy of the Aries Moon bears on starting something new. Our gut impulses are strong; we feel energetic, spontaneous, enthusiastic and brave -- and perhaps impatient and impulsive. Excess energy is best channeled into physical activity.

With all the planetary changes that are going on right now (Mars, Mercury, Pluto and Jupiter stations!), our Aries Moon may need to hold back a little and watch from the sidelines. Rather than start something brand-new, look to see what needs to be re-addressed right now.

Wednesday (May 4th): the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries all day (see Tuesday afternoon for more details). And remember: with all the planetary changes that are going on right now (Mars, Mercury, Pluto and Jupiter stations!), our Aries Moon may need to hold back a little and watch from the sidelines. Rather than start something brand-new, look to see what needs to be re-addressed right now.

Wednesday evening, Mercury ends its station and gets back to its normal pace through the sky -- but moving backward through the sky as seen from Earth (that’s what “retrograde” refers to). We have a chance to do some internal work on any thinking and/or communication issues that came up over the last week.

Thursday (May 5th): the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries until 1:10pm EDT (see Tuesday afternoon for more details).

Wednesday night/Thursday very early morning at 12:17am EDT, we enter a 13-hour Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts until 1:04pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to connect to your inner revolutionary, or nurture the inner eccentric and try being completely yourself ;-)

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan the first half of Thursday ahead of time ;-)

The Jupiter station intensifies today (Thursday), as it is preparing to come to a halt next week Monday (after having been retrograde for the past 4 months). This station will last until May 13th

This is also true for those of us with their Ascendent or Sun-sign in Sagittarius (Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius, so those folks will always be affected more strongly by Jupiter's movements and aspects).

Thursday at 1:10pm EDT, the Moon moves into steady, peaceful Taurus, where it will journey until Saturday early afternoon. With the Moon in Taurus, we seek serenity, security, peace, comfort: The Moon is at her most sensual and constant in Taurus.

Our basic impulse is to relax, resist change, get comfortable: Life… slows… down... We may also be stubborn and materialistic under this influence. As best you can, stop and smell the roses during this time -- enjoy life and its offerings ;-)

Friday (May 6th): the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all day (see Thursday early afternoon for details).

Friday at 3:30pm EDT, the New Moon in almost 17 degrees of Taurus becomes exact, beginning a new Moon cycle. This New Moon is also the third of six “SuperMoons" that we will experience this year. SuperMoons generate greater gravitational and electromagnetic forces and therefore increased effects on our physical and emotional bodies; this in turn facilitates greater shifts in consciousness.

This New Moon in steady, peaceful Taurus brings our focus to our interactions with the physical world. We are looking to create a healthy relationship with “matter", in which we are neither too attached or too disconnected from our bodies, resources (such as money) and planet — in fact, we are invited to form a healthy attitude towards nature, money, and all of life.

We are powerfully reminded to take the time to honor the only planet we can currently live on — The Earth — to honor its resources and beauty. We are also invited to honor ourselves, our own bodies, and our talents.  Click here to watch my video on the subject.

Venus is the ruler of Taurus; it moves through Taurus at the time of the New Moon, asking us to not only honor ourselves and this planet, but also our core values.

To bring all this together, ask yourself: How can I create more beauty in my life? More peace? What really matters to me? What is worth my time and energy? Do I truly value myself -- exactly as I am?

Venus in Taurus makes a sextile to Neptune in Pisces. This is an opportunity to understand that energetically speaking "all is one", to go beyond our five senses to the sixth, and to use self-compassion to open our hearts, eyes and minds.

Venus also trines Pluto in Capricorn and Jupiter in Virgo. This combo promotes a realistic and responsible approach. We have the chance to make some progress with our daily routines and long-term goals -- it's easier for us to bring discernment and passionate commitment to them. Tap into what you truly want, what you feel truly, deeply passionate about... and use this energy to move towards it.

Whenever a planet is stationing, its energy is exalted; in this case the Jupiter station amplifies the Grand Trine. We therefore feel more optimistic and are able to see the bigger picture. After May 9th, we will have the opportunity to take a big step forward; until then, ask yourself: "Might there still be any "old" beliefs, perceptions, or assumptions that have been holding me back, that I am now ready to release?"

Saturn and Mars in Sagittarius still remain the focus points of a T-square with Jupiter in Virgo and Neptune in Pisces... This has been going on since March (you may recall this from my last two videos. Feel free to watch again ;-) Everything is changing so fast -- including us -- this T-square invites us to be the still center, the "eye of the storm".

Over the next 28 days, these are the main questions this mutable T-square is asking: What if I let myself simply observe my mind and heart? What if I let them open moment to moment, no matter what I experience?

As you observe your heart and mind you could also ask: What outdated biases or beliefs am I holding on to? Could I remain curious? Could I listen to myself and others as well as speak up?

Mercury (also in Taurus) went retrograde a week before the New Moon was exact and will be that way until May 22nd. This reminds us to take a good look at any unhelpful conditioning or thinking patterns around self-worth and self-esteem issues -- these may show up as issues around money,  confidence and loving ourselves the way we are.

This will support us over the next 28 days in rethinking and releasing what no longer works. Think of it as an opportunity to upgrade certain areas of your life. As best as you can, be both honest and kind with yourself.

To sum it all up: for the next 28 days, we are invited to look at where we are attached and disconnected regarding the physical world, how to find a healthy balance with the things we value, and what it means to be completely honest with ourselves -- who we are, what we want and our natural talents.

The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month's Moon cycle. This is best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact -- and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase. So this month, the best time to set intentionswould be any time between3:30pm until 10:10pm EDT on Friday, and 12:35pm EDT on Saturday until 3:30pm EDT on Sunday (May 8th).

Ask yourself: What am I holding on to that no longer supports a healthy relationship with myself or the physical world? Where am I getting attached out of fear to change? Could it be that these attachments keep me from experiencing abundance? What if I let go of all attachments and aversions, just for a moment, just for right now -- just to see what would happen? ;-)

Do you have your Ascendant or any personal planets in 14-19 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo or Aquarius? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign inLeoorCancer(the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

Friday at 10:10pm EDT, we enter a 14.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts until 12:35pm EDT (Saturday early afternoon). Use this intuitive time to be still. Connect to your body's wisdom -- pamper yourself and others and listen to your inner dialog.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan your night and Saturday morning ahead of time ;-)

Saturday (May 7th): the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus and VoC until 12:35pm EDT (see Thursday early afternoon for details).

Saturday morning, a harmonious Sun/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 9:03am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Wednesday on, it will be strong until next week Tuesday. This aspect brings a sense of focus and empowerment to our long-term goals.

We have the ability to look at everything in a very down-to-earth manner right now; through our understanding of "what is and what is not", we can make more powerful choices. We can also deepen our understanding of our own motivations and look closely at where we are heading.

This aspect also brings an intensity and a depth to our conscious awareness; therefore this is also a great time to transform our lives, stripping away anything -- even people -- that no longer connect with who we are. Ask yourself: How can I live more authentically? Is there anything holding me back? What could I release now that is no longer serving my evolution? Would I be willing to let that go — to honor myself?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 14-21 degrees of Taurus, Capricorn or Virgo? If so, you will be even more blessed by this aspect than those who do not; this is also true for those of us with our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Scorpio (the Sun being the ruler of Leo; Pluto rules Scorpio)

Saturday at 12:35pm EDT, the Moon moves into chatty, versatile Gemini, where it will journey until Monday afternoon. The Gemini Moon keeps us social and busy. Interactions may take place online, on the phone, or face-to-face with those in our immediate environment. With this Moon placement, we like to multitask and stay engaged with life as much as possible: As long as we don't get bored, we're good.

With Mercury retrograde right now, we may need to slow things down a little, tapping into all these interactions from a more intuitive place. Rather than initiating new contacts, consider reconnecting with old friends or former business associates; it’s also probably best to revisit conversations from the past three to four weeks.

Sunday (May 8th): the Moon remains in curious, versatile, chatty Gemini all day (see Saturday early afternoon for details). And remember: Rather than initiating new contacts, consider reconnecting with old friends or former business associates; it’s also probably a good idea to revisit conversations from the past three to four weeks.

Mars resumes its normal pace through the sky, ending its station today (Sunday). What has come up over the last three weeks around "doing" and pursuing"? What beliefs do you have about the "masculine" that no longer serve you? Now is a good time to do some internal work in this area...

A head's up for next Monday (May 9th): the Moon remains in curious, versatile, chatty Gemini until 1:24pm EDT (see Saturday early afternoon for details). At 12:15am EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for a little over 13 hours, until 1:24pm EDT. At 8:14am EDT,Jupiter comes to a halt in 13 degrees of Virgo and goes direct again. As mentioned in Thursday’s forecast, Jupiter's energy will be felt most strongly at this time. An opportune, Venus/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 8:41am EDT. We started tofeel this aspect from Saturday on, it will be strong until next week Tuesday nightA Sun/Mercury alignment in 19 degrees of Taurus becomes exact at 11:12am EDT. We started tofeel this aspect from Saturday on, it will be strong until next week Wednesday. At 1:24pm EDT, the Moon moves into protective, introverted Cancer, where it will journey until Wednesday late afternoon. More about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)
