Last week was even busier for me than the previous one -- I didn't think that was possible, but there it was ;-) I could also feel the Mars/Chiron trine last week -- I talked about this in great detail in my most recent Monthly Forecasting Forum. Feel free to purchase the recording of our live event
This week's headline items:The Full Moon in Sagittarius becomes exact on Monday morning (it's the second Full Moon in a single month); on Monday evening the Sun moves into Cancer, marking the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere; Jupiter aligns with the North Node on Tuesday; the Mars and Chiron Station intensifies on Thursday; Mercury squares the Solar Eclipse degree from March 8th.
There will also be four Moon VoC phases this week: Monday morning (for 53 minutes), Wednesday early morning (for a little over 11 hours), Friday late morning (for a little over 10.5 hours), and Sunday afternoon (for a little over 11 hours).
Monday (June 20th) is quite the day! So much going on...the Moon remains in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius, whereit will journey until 7:55am EDT. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. The Sagittarius Moon persuades us to come from intuition and think in a broader manner. We seek meaning and ideas that expand upon the "here and now".
We pursue truth and a new vision -- the big picture, rather than the details. Spontaneity is key, we'd rather improvise than plan; this may tip into just "winging it". We could also overdo or overstate.
Monday at 7:02am EDT:theFull Moon in 29.5 degree of Sagittariusbecomes exact. This is the last degree before it moves into a new sign; this degree is usually "exalted", so we can expect to feel the Gemini-Sagittarian polarity quite strongly.
This is also the second Full Moon in Sagittarius within a single month, which intensifies the message of balance and integration between the Gemini-Sagittarius polarity. The last time we had two Full Moons in Sagittarius within one month was way back in May/June 1997. Think back to June 1997: Did you have a shift in perception? What changed then? What might need to change now?
Any Full Moon is a more extroverted and emotional time; this time around, we are being invited to remain open-minded and willing to learn -- it's about expanding our horizons. To learn more about this month's Full Moon, please click here to watch my video
For more about the Sagittarius-Gemini polarity, feel free to watch my previous Full Moon video
Venus (now in Cancer) is still aligned with the Sun in 29 degrees of Gemini, asking us to think about what is best aligned with our "feeling body". What do we need most from our relationships? How can we connect our thoughts with our feelings and with what we need most?
Ask yourself: What might I hear if I consciously listened to my "feeling body"? What might be possible, if I experimented with communicating to others what I need? What if there were a way to self-nurture and communicate at the same time?
Mercury (the ruler of Gemini) is in its own sign at the time of the Full Moon (and therefore exalted). It falls exactly into the "empty leg" of that ongoing T-square we talked about in my last New Moon video. We are definitely invited to remain curious, and focus on listening, as well as sharing.
Again, these planetary positions create a powerful Grand Cross, one that invites us to stretch (and grow) beyond what we currently believe ourselves to be, what we believe to be true, how we currently connect to our inner and outer dialogue, how we understand life, and how we apply ourselves in life!
Where do you tend to make assumptions? Where do you have rigid expectations? What might be possible if you listened 5% more intently than you normally would to your own thoughts and other peoples words?
Pretend for a moment that every thought matters and creates your reality... What if you "walked your talk"? Where are you still learning to embody your own deepest truths?
Neptune in Pisces, part of this Grand Cross, is now retrograde but still stationing (just as two weeks ago); its energy is still therefore exalted. Again, feel free to check out my last New Moon video on the subject.
Chiron, also in Pisces, and Mars in Scorpio areboth stationing at the time of the Full Moon -- and both energies are therefore exalted. Chiron is getting ready for a 5-month retrograde phase that begins on June 27th; Mars is getting ready to go direct on June 29th, after its 2 month retrograde.
The good news is that they are making a beautiful connection to each other at the time of their stations; between now and July 27th, this provides wonderful support for our healing process around our masculine energies. This is an opportunity to heal issues around anger, dominance, and pursuit that takes no heed of others and the planet.
Healing happens when we are able to embrace our own imperfections and limitations, and come to see them as valid, rather than as proof that we are "broken" or "wrong". Self-compassion and a greater understanding of our wound-history helps us embrace ourselves as we are; we can start to love ourselves because of our flaws, not in spite of them.
What if you just decided that you are perfect? That you are exactly where you need to be? What if you released any shame around being a sensitive, fearful human who has experienced loneliness and separation from a higher power? How might you show mercy and forgiveness towards yourself?
By now, a lot of you have probably heard about my recent lecture on Chiron, "Healing with Astrology". If you'd like to have a better understanding of your personal healing journey, I encourage you to get the Mp3 recording; it includes many valuable handouts -- and you'll get a chance to do hands-on work with your own birth chart! The Full Moon happens within 12 hours of the Summer Solstice becoming exact in the northern hemisphere. The twice-yearly Solstices are important turning points -- energetic gateways for the summer or winter season. Solstice Points are thus extra-potent times to set intentions and take part in ceremonies; the combination of the Full Moon means we'll be feeling a particularly potent energy field for the next two weeks.
We usually don't set intentions during a Full Moon cycle -- but this one is an exception -- feel free to set more intentions on June 20th around 6:30pm EDT (when the Sun enters Cancer -- see below) or tune into the ones you set two weeks ago at the time of the New Moon. While we're on the subject: What could you add to those two-week-old New Moon Intentions? What could you eliminate?
Here are some more questions you could ask yourself before setting your Solstice Intentions: What drains or distracts you from long-term goals? What is a single, simple practical step you could take, in order to feel more self-assured in your daily routines? What would "being of service" look like if it expanded? What if being of service were your greatest gift?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following: 27-29 degrees of Sagittarius,Gemini, Virgo, Pisces or 0+1 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries or Libra? If so, you are more affected by this month's Full Moon. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign inLeo or Cancer(the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
Right as the Full Moon becomes exact (at 7:02am EDT), we also enter a 53-minute Moon void of course (VoC).that ends with the Moon's entry into Capricornat 7:55am EDT. Use this intuitive time to take a break, tune into your thought processes and see where you would like to go next... As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow.
At 7:55am EDT, the Moon moves into practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn, where it will journey until Wednesday afternoon. The Capricorn Moon emphasizes our need for structure and forward planning. We are motivated by a desire for success; achievement and manifestation are paramount.
We are resourceful, and pursue economy with time, energy, and other resources. We take things more seriously during Moon in Capricorn: we look reality in the eye. This can also be a very productive period. As best as you can, avoid "should-ing" on yourself. Take the pressure off: try saying "I am doing the best I can and that's all I can ever do" ;-)
Saturn (ruler of Capricorn) is transiting through Sagittarius right now, making this a great time to explore our beliefs. It's also a great time to focus on the greater meaning of life and for going beyond conditioned thinking structures. As best as you can, be authentic about what you believe: Do your beliefs actually match your direct experience of life -- as it is for you now, not how it was 5 or 10 years ago?
Monday in the late morning, a Mercury/Saturn opposition becomes exact at 10:55am EDT. We started to feel this connection from last Saturday on; it will be strong until this Wednesday. This aspect might bring some misunderstandings or feelings of restriction. We may have a pessimistic attitude towards our lives and find ourselves in conflict with others on intellectual levels. In other words, we might experience communication problems.
It can appear that others are not especially sympathetic to our point of view. However, it is important that we examine how we are communicating with others and take responsibility for how our choice of words lands for others. As best as you can, find your inner balance so you can speak from a grounded, truthful place -- while remaining committed to what others expect of you.
We are also called to examine our thinking patterns for rigid or negative attitudes that have been holding us back. We are ridding ourselves of projects that no longer serve their purpose, learning to cut out the fluff so we can focus on the important. It's better right now to reassess and perfect our ideas, rather than present them -- that will come later. We are digging for truths now, and in the process, we might uncover some doubts.
Fact is, we are most likely harder on ourselves regarding our communication at this time. We also tend to worry about what others think of us. Getting objective feedback from others is key! We also may have a harder time wholeheartedly accepting compliments, while craving them. As best as you can, acknowledge others (and yourself) for being a good communicator, whether via writing or saying it out loud ;-)
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 9-15 degrees of Gemini, Sagittarius, Pisces or Virgo? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Capricorn (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Saturn rules Capricorn)
Monday afternoon, a challenging Mercury/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 1:11pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last Saturday on; it will be strong until this Wednesday. This aspect asks us to stretch ourselves and grow. We may experience a lack of clarity and objectivity.
We might find it hard to follow directions and instructions at this time. Difficulties concentrating on hard, cold facts are likely; in fact, we may question facts altogether, or avoid getting pinned down on answers. As you can imagine, this is not the best time for signing any contracts. Perceptions can be confused, unrealistic, or too idealistic to carry weight in the real world; conversations may be vague.
As best as you can, during these 5 days, follow your heart -- and let yourself be guided by your artistic or spiritual side. If you can, put off hard decisions until the end of the week… and be compassionate with yourself and others.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 9-15 degrees of Gemini, Pisces, Sagittarius or Virgo? If so, you are more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Pisces (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Neptune rules Pisces).
And last but not least, Monday at 6:34pm EDT,the Sun changes signs from busy, versatile Gemini to protective, sensitive Cancer. As mentioned in the Full Moon section, this marks the Summer Solstice in the northern hemisphere: The Solstices are important turning points twice a year, as they are energetic gateways for the summer or winter season to come through.
The Sun will journey through the sign of Canceruntil July 22nd. When the Sun is in Cancer, we look for quality and safety in terms of what we want to create, and what we want to surround ourselves with. We experience life on a deeper, more instinctive level now. We have less interest in what is universal, and more interest in what affects us personally (and what affects the people we care for and love).
Our being is colored by our emotions, so it might be more challenging to be objective. Family, home and our inner world becomes our focus for the next 30 days.
All this is especially true if you are a Leo or Cancer Sun-sign or Rising-sign. As a Cancer, you will feel a good dose of confidence and playfulness in the next four weeks; as a Leo your energy will move more inwards, focusing on family or your home.
Tuesday (June 21st): the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn all day (see Monday morning for details).
Today, Jupiter (the ruler of Sagittarius) aligns with the North Node for the second time this year -- in almost 16 degrees of Virgo. We have been feeling this alignment since June 10th and it will still feel quite strong until July 1st. This connections calls us to focus on being of service whenever we can.
When we learn to be honest, orderly, and attentive to details in new ways, we feel more fulfilled and satisfied with our daily routines/work. Taking a bigger view and allowing ourselves to apply practical and technical knowledge and skills in our daily lives will pay off; the same is true of any healthy and practical routines we develop.
We'll feel more alive and optimistic if we pursue mental clarity and focus, together with productivity systems that help us pay attention to deadlines, details -- and wholesome approaches.
It might be difficult to commit ourselves to any one thing, but we need to learn to trust our inner guide—our intuition—in order to uncover more meaning in our daily routines and work schedules. We need to let ourselves believe in something that enriches our daily lives and well-being, and have faith in the growth process of our day-to-day affairs and health issues.
What are some practical steps you could take to feel more self-assured in your daily routines? How can you expand "being of service" -- in small or large ways? What might be possible if we could went from "good or bad" to "what works and what doesn't"?
Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Sagittarius? If so, you will feel more influenced by this alignment. If you are a Virgo Sun-sign or Rising-sign, for as long as Jupiter and the North Node are in your sign, you will feel a strong need to grow. You'll also feel the need bring order, clarity and wholesome approaches to your daily routines. -- in fact, this is about setting a healthy example for others.
Wednesday (June 22nd): the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn until 4:08pm EDT (see Monday morning for details).
Wednesday at 4:57am EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for a little over 11 hours, until 4:08pm EDT. As best as you can, remain flexible, and follow your intuition. Make room for accomplishing things in a practical, step-by-step manner, while allowing for expression of your own individual flavors.
As best as you can, make any necessary adjustments, and keep breathing. Stay away from "shoulding" on yourself and from overly aggressive behavior. As always with the Moon VoC, plan your day ahead of time, or simply stick to routine things… this very well could be a productive day, especially if you plan ahead… and of course, go with the flow, as much as possible ;-)
Wednesday at 4:08pm EDT, the Moon moves into freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, where it will journey until Friday late evening. The energy of the Aquarian Moon relates to our instinct for improvement. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional; interactions more impersonal than personal. We are likely to have an increased fascination with the new and unusual.
Social gatherings, anything connected with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas and methods, progress: all these are promoted during the time the Moon moves through Aquarius. Again: we have our eyes on the future -- or on outer space :-) Personal freedom becomes paramount.
Wednesday evening, a challenging Mercury/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 6:59pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Monday night on; it will be strong until Friday. This aspect asks that we grow and evolve in the following areas: how we communicate and what we share. We may have to find creative solutions to communicate; we may have to learn about our thinking process and conditioning.
We want to share our ideas without limitations. We are thus inclined to exaggeration, often unintended -- and we might have a hard time putting our ideas into practice. The upside to all this: we can be extraordinarily funny, interesting and creative.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 13-19 degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Pisces or Sagittarius? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).
Thursday (June 23rd):the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius all day (see Wednesday afternoon for details).
Thursday very early morning, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 1:39am EDT. We started feeling this aspect from Wednesday morning on; it will be strong until Thursday night. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice… so we need to develop inner awareness.
Our compulsive side may lead us down a path that evades rational understanding. Our judgments -- of circumstances, ourselves, others -- can be so extreme that we aren't able to make intelligent and consistent progress in our life right now.
As best as you can, strive to be more trusting and less strict with yourself for these two days. Surrender to whatever you are experiencing right now: It is temporary ;-)
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 15-18 degrees of Gemini or Capricorn? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Scorpio (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio)
Also on Thursday: Mars and Chiron's Station intensify today. Chiron in Pisces is getting ready to start its 5-month retrograde phase on June 27th, while Mars in Scorpio is getting ready to go direct again (on June 29th), after being retrograde for 2.5 months.
We will feel the effects of the Chiron stationuntil July 6th.Chiron's energies are more exalted during this period, we might therefore see an increased emphasis on water as a global and environmental issue.
Chiron is the wounded healer; in Pisces, our attention is guided towards our emotional and spiritual wounds. Chiron represents our inner insecurities, those self-conscious and wounded places. Chiron also represents the inner wound of abandonment and our need to "make it on our own".
We are invited to approach these wounds on a holistic level, to heal them such that others are healed thereby. This is accomplished very simply and naturally when we work with the true beauty and strength of this energy: Compassion. Having compassion for our own wounds heals them and allows healing compassion for the wounds we now see in others.
What emotional or spiritual sore spots could you acknowledge? What needs to heal? For those of you who want to have a better understanding of your personal healing journey, I encourage you to get the recording of my recent Chiron-lecture: "Healing with Astrology" Click here for more info
Those of us with personal planets and points (ASC or MC) in 23-27 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Gemini or Sagittarius will feel this station more strongly.
Mars's station will last until July 6th as well. Mars represents our assertiveness, independence and “male” energy Also: new initiatives, going after one's goals, physical actions.
During the station, these energies will be "in our face" -- we become more aware of them, but we’re not necessarily able to do anything about them yet. This may be bring up frustration or even outright anger. With Mars in Scorpio, we may express our anger with extreme force, whether that expression is turned inward or outward.
Ask yourself: What am I most afraid of, in regards to experiencing true intimacy? What single action step could I take right now to empower myself and others? What might be possible if I embraced all of me -- my light and my darkness? What role does (dis)trust play in my interactions with others?
Is your Sun sign or Ascendant in Aries? Or do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 21-25 degrees of Scorpio, Taurus, Leo or Aquarius? If so, you will feel a stronger connection to this Mars station.
We also talked about both of those stations in great detail during the last Forecasting Forum. Click here to purchase the recording of the live event ;-)
Friday (June 24th): the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius until 10:30pm EDT (see Wednesday afternoon for details).
Friday morning: Mercury squares the degree of the Solar Eclipse that occurred back on March 8th. This is asking us to pay attention to our communications: not just what we share with others, but also our own inner dialog. What messages are you receiving today? What do they mean to you? What are you ready to change?
Friday at 11:48am EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts a little over 10.5 hours, until 10:30pm EDT. Take this intuitive time as an opportunity to connect to your vision for yourself and humanity. Networking or group causes might be of particular interest.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan your day ahead of time ;-)
Friday at 10:30pm EDT, the Moon moves into creative, sensitive Pisces, where it will journey until Monday very early morning. The energy of the Pisces Moon bears on the need for connection to our higher selves. It can be a wistful, sensitive and compassionate time; we are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns.
Boundaries and walls come down; we feel energetically connected to everything around us. As best as you can, therefore, be kind to yourself and others -- surround yourself with loving energy. It's a time best used for spiritual or creative endeavors and for dissolving our fears and doubts. Feelings tend to flow more freely; as best as you can, let them ;-)
Saturday (June 25th): the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day (see Friday late evening for details).
Saturday is great day for any spiritual or creative endeavors; especially until the late afternoon. As best as you can, let it all flow and go as it needs to... situations, feelings, ideas, thoughts… the more it flows, the better ;-) Intuition is very strong right now, so let yourself be guided by your inner sensing and knowing -- it won’t steer you wrong.
A long-term, harmonious Jupiter/Pluto aspect becomes exact tomorrow (Sunday) at 8:30am EDT -- I mention it in Saturday's section because we will already be feeling it quite strongly. We started to feel this aspect from May 31st on; it will remain strong until July 14th. It's an invitation to hone in on how to solve problems and get where we want to go. Our career (life path) will undergo a degree of change or transformation. We lose interest in the inessential.
The more faith we have in ourselves, the more others will too, and the more likely things will work out, since everyone expects them to. Authenticity is important here. Positive attitude, in combination with passion and focused intent, makes for a winning formula.
Empowerment is the key word: As best as you can, make the most of your renewed vigor and intensity by empowering yourself and others, especially at work and in regards to your social standing. During this aspect, we can move mountains...
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 13-20 degrees of Virgo, Capricorn or Taurus? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Sagittarius or Scorpio (Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius; Pluto rules Scorpio)
Sunday (June 26th): the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day (see Friday late evening for details).
Sunday late morning, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Mars aspect becomes exact at 11:15am EDT. We've been feeling this aspect since Saturday night; it will be strong until later tonight. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed if we’re to see what needs adjusting.
We may have big ideas under this influence... and overestimate our abilities or underestimate the situation. Avoid jumping in too fast and over-promising; check the details.
What we do, think and say are not necessarily in harmony; what's more, instead of listening to others, we tend to interrupt and assume. This is probably not a good day to make important decisions ;-)
Awareness is key with this aspect: What demands to be done? How? How fast? Could you allow yourself to process new information quickly, without needing to act on it right away?
Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 22-24 degrees of Gemini orScorpio? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Aries (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Mars of Aries).
Sunday at 3:55pm EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts a little over 11 hours, until 3:08am EDT (Monday very early morning). We are pulled in two quite different directions: A desire for silence, emotional oneness, and creativity flowing through us — versus a desire for “busyness” generated by sharing and communicating.
Use this intuitive time to make adjustments and find creative solutions when it comes to these energies. As always during VoC, take it easy -- just go with the flow, rather than starting anything brand-new. You may also want to plan Sunday late afternoon/evening ahead of time ;-)
Sunday late evening, an opportune Mercury/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 10:31pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Saturday night on; it will be strong until Monday night (June 27th).This brings an opportunity for insight and novelty. We might experience some really unusual conversations. Remember: an opportunity is not automatically given to us; we have to realize it.
This aspect also brings an opportunity to see things from a different perspective, or to put a new spin on our "old" thinking structure. We like to connect in unusual ways and any group activities or brainstorming with like-minded people could generate amazing insights -- this might be a busy day. As best as you can -- and as much as you want to -- stay open to other dimensions ;-)
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 22-26 degrees of Gemini, Aries, Aquarius or Leo? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Aquarius (Mercury is the ruler of Virgo and Gemini; Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius)
Lastly, also on Sunday late evening, a somewhat challenging Venus/Saturn aspect, becomes exact at 11pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Sunday morning on; it will be strong until Monday evening (June 27th). This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed if we’re to see what needs adjusting.
It's hard to see what we are actually responsible for in relationships, so we sometimes take on unnecessary responsibilities, to ensure the relationships continue. We may ask ourselves: "Do people like me for myself, or for what I do for them?" If you're confused on this point (or any point): as best as you can, keep choosing the "better" alternative, adjusting as necessary.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 10-13 degrees of Cancer or Sagittarius? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Capricorn (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn)
A head's up for next Monday (June 27th): At 3:08am EDT, the Moon enters pioneering, fast-paced Aries, where it will journey until Wednesday morning. At 7:10am EDT, Chiron comes to a halt in 25 degrees of Pisces, starting its 5-month retrograde phase. In the late morning, a harmonious Venus/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 9:53am EDT.We started to feel this aspect from Friday night on; it will be strong until Wednesday night (June 29th).
In the early afternoon, a challenging Mercury/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 12:25pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Saturday night on; it will be strong until Tuesday night (June 28th). And lastly, at 2:19pm EDT, the last Quarter Moon in 6.5 degrees of Ariesbecomes exact.More about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)
