Last week was a little like a roller coaster ride: sometimes fun and exciting, other times uncomfortable and scary (Uranus Station anyone?) Definitely a reminder that everything happening "outside" is simply a mirror for what is happening inside -- and an opportunity to take a closer look at how I treat myself, what I believe, and my inner journey.
One of my real-life angels (my Reiki Healer) put it so profoundly: We are learning to trust our own inner center, and speaking our truth from that place, moment to moment, with vulnerability and love, rather than trying to take care of other people's feelings, taking responsibility for their behaviors, or attempting to "understand" what's happening in the outside world.
This reminded me of the Capricorn/Cancer polarity: honor your own inner compass, nurture it and bring your authentic self to the world with integrity and responsibility ;-) Of course, it also reminded me of Saturn in Sagittarius, and the questions it poses: What is true for me? What isn't?

This week's headline items:the last Quarter Moon in Taurus becomes exact on Tuesday evening. Saturn starts to slow down (station) on Thursday. Uranus comes to halt on Friday -- starting its 5-month retrograde phase (until Dec. 29th). On Saturday afternoon, the Balsamic Moon phase begins and Mercury moves from Leo to Virgo.
There will also be three Moon VoC phases this week: Tuesday very early morning (for a little over 9 hours), Thursday late morning (for 3 hours), and Saturday morning (for almost 9.5 hours).
Monday (July 25th): the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries all day. It will journey there until Tuesday late morning. Life is an adventure, we're more open to new ideas, and have great enthusiasm for new projects.
Patience is certainly not our strong suit at this time, but we can decide quickly, and act immediately. Our independence and dynamism are important to us right now, so we may find it hard to be disciplined or accept advice at this time; in general, our responses to others tend to be more assertive or even aggressive. If you find yourself foot tapping, try hitting the gym, or finding other ways to burn off the body's excess energy.
Monday, late morning: we may need to make some adjustments and think outside the box... flexibility and adaptability is key! In the early afternoon, we get an opportunity to connect to others from the heart and have some lively conversations. In the evening, we feel brave, and ready to commit to a new adventure. That said, we will need to make some inner adjustments, if we are to feel good about those plans.
Tuesday (July 26th) at 2:19am EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for a little over 9 hours, until 11:37am EDT. We might feel an electric, nervous, impulsive energy moving through our bodies at this time. This may cause restlessness; as best as you can, use this intuitive time to shake your body and connect with your inner genius (...what I like to call the inner freak-a-zoid).
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan the first half of Tuesday ahead of time ;-)
Tuesday at 11:37am EDT, the Moon movesinto steady, peaceful Taurus, where it will be until Thursday afternoon. We love all physical comforts, prefer consistency, and would rather stick with what we know works well. In other words: change is not our favorite thing and "rushing things" goes against our grain.
What is our favorite thing right now? It's probably, slowing down and getting in touch with whatever delights our senses ;-) This Moon placement also starts the build-up towards the last Quarter Moon (for which, read on...)
Tuesday evening at 7pm EDT, the last Quarter Moonin 4 degrees of Taurus becomes exact. We started to feel this aspect build from the moment the Moon entered Taurus earlier today. The Moon in steady, peaceful Taurus makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in self-expressed, proud Leo. This may bring challenges; however, it also energizes us to face what demands completion or transformation. This Moon phase brings us closer to the next New Moon (exact on Aug. 2nd).
During the last Quarter Moon, we are better served by reviewing those projects we began around the last New Moon -- in this case, that would be July 4th -- as opposed to launching new ones. Out of those projects, what needs last-minute adjustments? What did you discover since then? What did it mean for you? As best as you can, find creative solutions for anything that comes up (whether internally, or with others).
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 2-7 degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius? If so, you will feel this month's last Quarter Moon quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer, since the Sun rules Leo and the Moon rules Cancer.
Wednesday (July 27th): the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all day (see Tuesday late morning for details).
Wednesday early morning, a harmonious Mercury/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 3:45am EDT. We started feeling this aspect build from Monday night on; it will be strong until Thursday night. This aspect supports a connection between our higher mind and our day-to-day mind. We are able to receive inspiration from higher places and maybe even look into the future. We are able to communicate our vision for a better future; insights arise from these communications.
Original, creative insights and ideas can appear out of nowhere; as best as you can, stay open to these unique "downloads" -- they might change how you see and proceed with life ;-) This is a good time to communicate online, engage in computer-related activities or scientific projects, and also for anything metaphysical. Group activities like Meetups are great things to be involved with right now -- especially if they allow us to share our vision for a better future.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 21-27 degrees of Leo, Aries or Sagittarius? If so, you will feel especially blessed by this connection. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Aquarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius)
Wednesday morning, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 8:55am EDT. We started feeling this aspect from Monday on; it will be strong until Friday. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice… so we need to develop inner awareness.
We might not trust our problem-solving abilities or ability to "read" other people; the anxiety this creates could cloud our decision-making process -- and could make us doubt our own reality.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 24-26 degrees of Leo or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo)
Thursday (July 28th): the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus until 2:17pm EDT (see Tuesday late morning for details).
Thursday at 11:13am EDT, we enter a 3-hour Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts until 2:17pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to balance your drive for comfort and security with your desire to go deeper in your emotional connections to yourself and others. Any fears we face right now will bring us deeper intimacy -- and ultimately greater satisfaction -- in our intimate relationships.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan your "lunch time" ahead of time ;-)
Thursday at 2:17pm EDT, the Moon moves into chatty, versatile Gemini, where it will journey until Saturday afternoon. For the next two days, we like to learn, connect and interact as much as possible. "Busy" feels good: connecting online, on the phone, or sharing face-to-face, preferably multi-tasking all the way... The one thing we can do without is boredom: If our mind is not engaged in some way, we might as well curl up and play dead :-)
Also on Thursday, Saturn starts its station. "Stationing" is when a planet moves more slowly through the sky. When a planet stations, its energy becomes more "exalted"; in the case of Saturn, this means we all feel the need to more fully face what is currently so, our actual reality.
Saturn has to do with doing what needs to be done -- so we can fully understand the practical implications of our reality, and the consequences of our past actions. Saturn also represents our structures, responsibilities, commitments and ability to "do" life, on life's terms.
As spirit beings in a physical world, it's best to observe the laws of the physical world. The sooner we learn to "play by the rules", the easier life gets. Saturn also represents time and the "domain" of time: growing up, maturing, understanding our limitations, setting healthy boundaries with others, living with integrity, being authentic and truthful, being serious and focused on building something of value to society.
Saturn is our teacher. If you had a cosmic teacher, what would your personal "earth class" be in, right now? Where are you being asked to look at your beliefs and become more mature? What calls for a commitment towards a larger truth? What will time do?
As best as you can during the time of the station, bring flexibility and open-mindedness to any frustrations. The station-phase will last until Aug. 26th; and Saturn goes direct -- after having been retrograde for almost 5-month -- on Aug. 13th in 10 degrees of Sagittarius.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 8-10 degrees of Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this station. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Capricorn, since Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn.
Friday (July 29th): the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini all day (see Wednesday afternoon for details).
Friday late afternoon, a challenging Mercury/Mars aspect becomes exact at 4:49pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Thursday on, it will be strong until Monday of next week. This aspectbrings some juicy energy to our conversations. This is a chance to have some discussions that have been long overdue.
As best as you can, make it a productive discussion that serves you and others -- a win-win -- otherwise you might feel really awful afterwards. As best as you can, seek to empower yourself and the other person. Also, watch out on the road for some crazy drivers… rushing might not necessarily get you there any faster ;-)
Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in the following: 25-29 degrees of Leo, Scorpio, Taurus, Aquarius, or 0-1 degrees of Virgo, Sagittarius, Gemini or Pisces? If so, you may feel more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Aries (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Mars rules Aries)
Friday at 5:06pm EDT, Uranus comes to a halt in 24.5 degrees of Aries, and begins its 5-month retrograde phase. During the Uranus retrograde phase we are invited to access the Uranus energy from within. Our intuitions will be very strong during this time and we have access to sudden insights and ideas. This aspect gives us the opportunity to take a look to see how free we actually feel.
As best as you can, take a look in there at whatever has been thwarting your progress or sense of freedom: Where are the inner roadblocks popping up? Are you expressing your individuality to the fullest? Are you connecting to a larger vision?
Remember, doing the inner work is just as important as making progress in the outer world -- the "Inner Universe" informs the outer -- one cannot happen without the other ;-)
Again, some of us will feel the effects more than others. This is particularly true if you have personal planets in 22-27 degrees of Aries -- and if you have Aquarius as your Sun- or Rising-Sign. For you in particular, this is a great time to reevaluate future goals -- and perhaps to reexamine any group causes that you want to be a part of.
Saturday (July 30th): the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini until 5:09pm EDT (see Wednesday afternoon for details).
Saturday at 7:46am EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for almost 9.5 hours, until 5:09pm EDT. Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to share about your visions and dreams for a better future. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Saturday day ahead of time ;-)
Saturday at 2:18pm EDT, Mercury changes sigs fromprideful, fun-loving Leo to detail-oriented, practical Virgo, where it will journey until Oct.7th — an unusually long time, due to Mercury’s retrograde phase that begins on Aug. 30th.For the next ten weeks, our thinking shifts gears: Mercury -- the energy of communication -- will focus more on the details.
With Mercury in Virgo, we are much more sharp in our thinking -- especially after Aug.12th (see Mercury/Neptune opposition exact next week Sunday). We are able to see things quite clearly and we are more inclined to put our energy towards taking care of day-to-day, practical matters.
Creating order in our daily lives and knowing what's coming next is easier for us now -- as opposed to going with the flow/being present/having faith that things will turn out well no matter what. We are better at organizing, writing lists, planning on a short-term scale, and doing errands at this time.
We may feel that we do things better than others right now; therefore we may not give others a chance to improve their skills or show us a different way of doing something. As best as you can, be of service to others, and remember that perfection is not a goal, it is a journey. How can you move towards improving things in your life, rather than having things be perfect all the time?
Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Virgo? If so, you may feel more talkative during this time. Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini? If so, you may need to get more specific and discerning with your sharing/communicating and the information you are processing ;-)
Also on Saturday afternoon, the Balsamic Moon phase begins. This lasts until Tuesday afternoon, when the New Moon in Leo becomes exact (…more on that next week). We are being asked to slow down and get quiet, so we can listen to our intuition. For some of us, this might be a stretch. As best as you can: stay grounded, take a deep breath and exhale any tensions.
Rather than starting something brand-new, put all that energy into completing existing projects. This is also a great time for letting go of whatever no longer serves us. What if you could hear the voice of your inner wisdom? What might it be saying?
Saturday at 5:09pm EDT, the Moon moves into protective, nurturing Cancer, where it will journey until Monday evening. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say and therefore our feelings are more easily hurt -- so be kind to yourself and others. Self-Care is key for the next two and half days ;-)
Emotional safety is important to us as well; we like connecting to the familiar and we enjoy nurturing ourselves and others -- home and family call to us, for instance. Make sure though, that your glass is filled before letting others drink from it, otherwise you might start to feel drained and resentful.
Sunday (July 31st): the Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer all day (see Saturday late afternoon for more details).
For most of the day, we are in a state of “flow” and emotional connection to others; spiritual and creative endeavors are favored. In the evening we may take an all-or-northing attitude toward others. As best as you can, take good care of your emotional and physical body; that way, you will be able to empower yourself and others, should this occur.
Sunday night/Monday very early morning, a harmonious Venus/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 12:09am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Friday on; it will be strong until next week Wednesday.
This aspect brings a breath of fresh air to our relationships. We have an easier time expressing our uniqueness -- or you could also say: allowing our inner dork, geek, wacko or nerd to come out and play a little more freely. Whatever is in there, we are less afraid to be our authentic selves -- and group activities or shared interests with like-minded people can also be especially fulfilling at this time.
On a financial level, we may gravitate towards investing in the new and unusual -- space travel, radio/sound waves, computers, the internet -- anything like "futuristic" has a chance to be quite popular and in demand. We lose our fear of taking risks at this time, because we're likely just "dabbling" -- so, all things being equal, this could potentially be a good couple of days for the stock market indexes :-)
Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 21-27 degrees of Leo, Aries or Sagittarius? If so, you will be most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Aquarius (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Uranus rules Aquarius)
A head's up for next Monday (August 1st): the Moon remains in protective, introverted Cancer all day (see Saturday late afternoon for more details). In the morning, a somewhat challenging Venus/Chiron aspectbecomes exact at 4:30am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Sunday early morning on; it will be strong until next week Tuesday.
In the early afternoon, a harmonious Sun/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 1:49pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Friday on; it will be strong until next week Thursday. At 9:12pm EDT, the Moon moves into fun and attention-loving Leo, where it will journey until Thursday early morning. More about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)
