Last week was definitely an exercise in being adaptable and rolling with whatever life threw my way -- I guess you could call it mental Aikido ;-) Luckily, the Jupiter/Mercury/Venus conjunction in Virgo made it all possible -- everything seemed doable and mostly even exciting.
Before we get into this week's forecast, I wanted to mention that I offer a recording of my recent Chiron Workshop: "Healing with Astrology". It's ideal for those of you who want to have a better understanding of your personal healing journey -- Click here for more info
This week's headline items: Friday morning sees a lot going on... Jupiter changes signs from Virgo to Libra, the first Quarter Moon in Sagittarius becomes exact; and Mars squares the degree of a Solar Eclipse that occurred back in March of this year.
There will only be two Moon VoC phases this week: Wednesday evening (for almost 40 minutes), and Friday evening (for 12 hours).
Monday (September 5th) at 8:38am EDT, the Moon moves into passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will journey until Wednesday evening. We feel things deeply and have "X-Ray Vision" and "Bullshit-Smelling Abilities" ;-)
Emotional authenticity is extremely important to us at this time; anything less than 100% emotional honesty could be perceived as flat-out dishonest. Once we feel safe trusting someone, we want to merge with them, preferably forever... as long as our trust is never betrayed.
The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power. This occurs by a process of subtraction -- it urges us to let go of whatever disempowers us. It's therefore an excellent time to look at "old" fears, limiting habits or emotional attachments, especially those stemming from past traumas.
Moon in Scorpio tends to run right over ambiguity -- it's "in or out", "with us or against us", "love me or leave me". It can therefore be stormy -- a cold winter storm, or a torrid tropical storm of passion, depending on how we "work" the energies :-)
Manipulation and paranoia are the lower vibrations of this aspect, so as best you can, be straightforward -- act in good faith and assume it in others. Best of all, be truly present to the fluctuations of your feelings -- no matter if they're "polite" or "timely". Feelings aren't facts, but they are information -- and heeding them will help you embrace all of who you are.
Know thyself -- and love thyself -- you shall be set free. Remember: Love connects us to the Power within; Fear causes "Force" to show up -- and that's ultimately what disempowers us and others.
We are in Eclipse season, so as best you can, follow through on projects you already have up and running, rather than embarking on anything brand-new.
Tuesday (Sept. 6th): the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day (see Monday morning for details).
Most of Tuesday offers opportunities for bringing passion to our creations; we are likely to experience a sense of ease and flow, but may need to slow down and allow our feelings to come through. All of that being said, if we can embrace our own humanity, we may also get a lot done today (perhaps even with ease and grace :-). Being open to receiving and going with the flow are key!
Tuesday night/Wednesday very early morning, a harmonious Sun/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 1:19am EDT. We started to feel this connection from last Saturday on; it will be strong until this Friday. This aspect brings a sense of focus and empowerment to our long-term goals. We have the ability to look at everything in a very down-to-earth manner right now; through our understanding of "what is and what is not", we can make more powerful choices.
We can also deepen our understanding of our own motivations and look closely at where we are heading. This aspect also brings an intensity and a depth to our conscious awareness; therefore this is also a great time to transform our lives, stripping away anything -- even people -- that no longer connect with who we are.
Ask yourself: How can I live more authentically? Is there anything holding me back? What fears and attachments could I release now, that no longer serve my evolution? Am I willing to let them go, just for now, and just as best as I can?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 12-18 degrees of Virgo, Capricorn or Taurus? If so, you will be even more blessed by this aspect than those who do not; this is also true for those of us with our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Scorpio (the Sun being the ruler of Leo; Pluto rules Scorpio)
Wednesday (Sept. 7th): the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio until 8:43pm EDT (see Monday morning for details).
Wednesday morning, opportune Venus/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 7:34am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Monday evening on; it will be strong until Thursday night. This aspect gives us an opportunity to bring a sense of realism to our relationships, values, and financial affairs: We are more able to see what really needs to be dealt with in those areas and take responsibility for our handling of them.
On a financial level, we have an opportunity to see more clearly when and how we might make long-term investments. There's no need to rush anything; think it through carefully and responsibly -- do the "due diligence". Remember: an opportunity is not automatically given to us, we have to "take" it.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 8-12 degrees of Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius or Leo? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Capricorn (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn).
Wednesday late morning, a somewhat challenging Venus/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 11:39am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Friday night on; it will be strong until Sunday evening. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed in order to see what needs adjusting.
We may have an unrealistic sense of our ability to relate right now and be attracted to others based on inaccurate perceptions -- and on incorrect appraisals of who we are and where we are going. We might also get confused when we aren't able to complete our various projects. As we show genuine self-acceptance, including toward our limitations. our range of expression for love increases.
It is also worthwhile to look more carefully at how our ideas are received by others. Can we involve them in our dreams? As best as you can, slow down: "If a thing is worth having, it's worth waiting for." Just for right now, could you simply have faith that everything will align eventually?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 9-12 degrees of Libra or Pisces? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Pisces (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Neptune is the ruler of Pisces).
Wednesday at 8:43pm EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for almost 40 minutes until 9:20pm EDT. Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to do some research and bring a broader mindset to your daily routines.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Wednesday evening ahead of time ;-)
Wednesday at 9:20pm EDT, the Moon moves into optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius, whereit will journey until Saturday morning. We're strongly motivated to explore and learn. We're not likely to be big fans of routine -- diversity and new adventures work best at this time -- we're also physically restless and need to burn that off with activity and physical exercise.
We tend to feel more open, optimistic and inspired -- but we also have a high degree of independence, which means we'd rather inspire others to do things our way, than take orders. Inspiring others could come easier than normal, as we can see the bigger picture, leaving us confident that others will agree with us, once they see what we see.
As best as you can, speak your truth without assuming that everyone is on the same page as you. Improvisation works well for us at this time, as we are spontaneous and love living on the edge -- just watch out you aren't overdoing or overstating things. This Moon placement starts the build up towards the first Quarter Moon (exact on Friday morning).
Thursday (Sept. 8th): the Moon remains inoptimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius all day (see Wednesday evening for details).
As we move into the second half of Thursday we may need to make some adjustments. As best you can, honor both your need for adventure and exploration of life and your need to connect with others intuitively or spiritually.
You may also feel a pull between introvert and extrovert, or simply fast and slow. We may also feel drawn to exploring authentic approaches toward our long-term goals -- approaches that match our world view.
Friday (Sept. 9th) is a big day (energetically speaking ;-) The Moon remains inoptimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius all day (see Wednesday evening for details).
The big news for today is that Jupiter changes signsat 7:18am EDTfromdetail-oriented, practical Virgo to harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra, where it will journey until Oct. 2017. With this placement, we are excited to learn about our relationships -- and we prefer entering into equal partnerships.
Over the next year, we could develop an idealized view of what a relationship "should" look like, as we are enthusiastic about connecting and collaborating. Cultivating close, rewarding partnerships is exciting to us now, and we are more open to treating others fairly for the next 13 months -- we'll be seeking the middle ground.
Jupiter says we can have faith in ourselves, our abilities, in life itself. We can attract the greatest good fortune when we are fair-minded, treat others with equality, find ways to bend and compromise without neglecting ourselves, are gracious, and use our talents at promoting and mediating. We are more likely to explore the arts, architecture, law, mediation, along with philosophies that promote harmony, peace, and diplomacy.
Jupiter in Libra asks us to widen our understanding of what it means to value people and relationships -- so we might succeed best in partnerships. Did I mention already that "relating as equals" is important for the next 13 months? :-) And, you guessed it, bringing humor and optimism to our various relationships will also serve us very well ;-)
We are learning to be more savvy when it comes to negotiations and conflict mediation. If we have a well-aspected natal Jupiter, legal matters may well turn out fortunately. This is the year when charm and grace will support us in reaching our goals.
To sum it all up, this Jupiter transit promotes the following: balanced relationships, equality between the sexes, greater social justice, and world peace :-) I also posted a video on Jupiter in Libra: click here to watch it.
Jupiter last moved through Libra between Sept. 2004 and Oct. 2005; naturally, this cycle won’t be an exact replica of that period, but there will be some resonance on an energetic level -- and we might be dealing with similar issues. In particular: what relationship issues did you tackle at that time? How did your perspective on collaborating with others change? On peace? What about equality in relationships?
As always, this aspect has different implications depending on your own personal chart(s). Let's look at some different sets of possibilities:
First: If you have a Libra Sun- or Rising-sign, you will feel the effects of this 13-month transit more strongly, in the form of expansion and new perspectives.
If, on the other hand, you have your natal Sun or Rising-sign in Sagittarius, you are being invited to create win-win scenarios. You'll experience more inner harmony for the next 13 months and want to mirror that in your connection to others -- i.e. in an equal setting.
Can your current age be evenly divided by twelve (i.e. 12, 24, etc.)? Or perhaps that will become true of you some time within the next 13 months? If so, you most likely have your natal Jupiter in Libra; this means that you will enjoy a Jupiter Return as this giant planet journeys through Libra. Enjoy connecting with your inner optimism and exuberance for life and partnership with others.
If you're part of the generation born in the 70's, you have both your natal Pluto and Uranus in Libra; expect a lift around past traumas and an opportunity to connect to your deeper passions. You may also expect joyful connection to visions of the future and collaborations with like-minded people.
Friday at 7:49am EDT, the first Quarter Moon in 17 degrees of Sagittarius becomes exact. We started to feel this aspect from the moment the Moon entered Sagittarius Wednesday evening. The Moon in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in detail-oriented, practical, service-oriented Virgo.
We feel compelled to take action. Last week saw a powerful New Moon, which was also a Solar Eclipse (on Sept.1st). If we set some intentions on Sept. 3rd or 4th, we are now ready to make some adjustments. This is therefore a time to stretch and grow -- and create some forward momentum. We may feel anxious or unusually busy.
Remember that we are still in Eclipse season (until Sept. 30th) and therefore we don't have all the information we need to move brand-new projects forward yet. As best as you can, take it one breath at a time. Allow for changes, remain flexible/adaptable and find creative solutions in your day-to-day interactions with others.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in any of the following: 15-19 degrees of Sagittarius, Virgo, Gemini or Pisces? If so, you will feel the effects of this first Quarter Moon more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
Also on Friday: Mars squares the Solar Eclipse degree. Back on March 8th of this year, a Solar Eclipse occurred in almost 19 degrees of Pisces: today around 12pm EDT, Mars (now in Sagittarius) squares this same Solar Eclipse degree.
Observe how this plays out for you today: What are you looking to let go of? What needs to change? What adjustments or creative solutions might clear the way for you to move forward powerfully with an open heart?
Friday afternoon, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 2:58pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Thursday on; it will be strong until Saturday evening. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed if we’re to see what needs adjusting.
It can be hard to make decisions under this influence, as we tend to doubt our perceptions, or our problem-solving ability. It may also be hard to read the intention behind the words used to communicate, leading to misunderstandings: we tend to feel uncomfortable -- a sort of "inner itchiness".
As best as you can, give yourself time to respond, allow your breath to ground you -- and forgive yourself if you make mistakes -- after all, you are human ;-)
This is the second time in the last 3 weeks that this aspect has become exact; this time around, Mercury is already moving retrograde, bringing an even more internal feel.
This gives us a chance to reexamine our approach toward any misunderstandings -- is there anything that needs to be readdressed that came up for you around 3 weeks ago? Is your own inner dialog about your communications creating more clarity... or more stress?
Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 23-25 degrees of Virgo or Aries? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Jupiter of Sagittarius).
Last but not least, on Friday at 8:51pm EDT, we enter a 12-hour Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts until 8:55am EDT (Saturday morning). Use this intuitive time to connect to like-minded people and learn something new about your unique self. See if you can broaden your approach, when it comes to your goals or projects.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Friday evening and Saturday morning ahead of time ;-)
Saturday (Sept. 10th): the Moon remains inoptimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius until 8:55am EDT (see Wednesday evening for details).
Saturday morning,a Mercury/Chiron opposition becomes exact at 7:51am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Tuesday on; it will be strong until next week Monday. We have a chance to balance our ability to think and speak clearly with our emotional wounding and insecurities.
This aspect may play out in a relationship, with each of you living out one side of the equation. We may experience guilt or shame around something we said or didn't say.
If you feel triggered by someone else, or vice versa: as best as you can, bring compassion and kindness towards both of you. Ask yourself: Is this connected to my past and/or upbringing? What if this were an opportunity to embrace my wounded inner child with love and kindness?
As you may recall from Friday afternoon's entry: this is the second time within the last 3 weeks that this aspect has become exact; Mercury's retrograde movement brings a more internal feel to this instance of the alignment.
Bringing the Chiron opposition into the picture raises this question: Did anything come up for you around your "wounded inner child" 3 weeks ago? If so, now will be a good time to reexamine that...
Do you have your Ascendent (or personal planets) in 20-26 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini or Sagittarius? If so, you will be most affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo (Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo).
Saturday at 8:55am EDT, the Moon moves into practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn, where it will journey until Tuesday morning. We tend to be more realistic, serious, cautious; this can support practical endeavors and financial matters.
Our ambition surges and brings with it a need for structure and planning; when you add in the pragmatism this aspect supports, you can see how this could be a very productive time for business and long-term goals. Our reputation becomes very important to us.
As best as you can during this aspect, avoid "should-ing" on yourself. Take the pressure off, perhaps by saying "I am doing the best I can and that's all I can ever do" ;-)
Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn; it's transiting through Sagittarius right now, making this a great time to explore limiting beliefs and bust through conditioned thought structures. It's also a great time to take a more serious look at the "meaning of life".
As best as you can, be authentic about your beliefs: Do they actually match your direct experience of life -- as it is for you now, rather than 5 or 10 years ago? What is true as of now? What is not?
Saturday late morning,a long-lasting, challenging Saturn/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 9:04am EDT. Because of Saturn's retrograde phase, we started feeling this aspect already around May. 10th; it will be strong until Oct. 13th. There is a restlessness in the air...
This aspect asks us to stretch and grow, to resolve a tension: On the one hand we want our perception of life to be realistic and have a need for big accomplishments; on the other hand, we need to trust divine timing -- we feel compelled to listen to our intuition and let our heart guide us. What truly has meaning for you?
We may face obstacles; for some of us, the hardest of these will be the feeling of having "gone flat" and uninspired. For others, it might be having to confront things we've procrastinated on or avoided; at the extreme, this could include addictions.
In the same spirit, we are asked to take responsibility for our own perceptions and attitudes, rather than blindly following others and buying their beliefs wholesale.
It could become harder to trust in our interconnectedness with everything. It's important for us to focus on authentic attitudes and learn to take it one day at a time. How can we feel more "oneness"? Could you trust your heart, even when life throws a curveball? What if we accept new truths into our hearts, "just because"?
We experienced this aspect twice before, in November/December of last year, and it's been exact one other time on June 17th; think back to those times: what has shifted within you since then? How are you approaching life in different way?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 7-14 degrees of Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini or Virgo? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Pisces or Capricorn (Neptune is the ruler of Pisces; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn)
Sunday (Sept. 11th): the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn all day (see Saturday morning for details).
Sunday very early morning,a challenging Venus/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 3:47am EDT. We started feeling this aspect from Thursday on; it will be strong until Tuesday of next week. The Universe is asking us to stretch and grow.
Venus represents our relationships and that which we most value; these areas may undergo major transformations. This aspect challenges us to find meaning in our life through partnerships. We must now uncover the deeper layer of our life. With Pluto in the mix, social interactions could be intense.
You may see changes in financial status or relationships. In the latter, things erupt that have been brewing beneath the surface for some time; this may prove disruptive: As best you can, empower rather than disempower. We may become obsessed with our commitments and our partner during this time.
We may also experience Pluto through our partner, experiencing manipulation and controlling behaviors; we must be especially wary of resisting change and holding onto negative attachments. It's time to let go of destructive attachments and connections. How can we grow and evolve in our relationships? Is there a relationship that we need to grow and evolve out of?
This aspect could also express itself through sexual tension; there is a strong desire for love in its physical expression. However, keep your standards high, so you can come upon a love that fulfills all your needs -- definitely don't start a relationship with "just anyone", in order to avoid being alone.
Remember to be true to your own values; wait for someone with whom you can have a relationship based on trust, love and a genuine desire for intimacy -- and work on being worth finding, in the meantime :-) As best as you can, stay grounded in love, not fear. Stay flexible and open-minded. As best as you can, nurture yourself; make sure you have everything you need to be able to come from a place of inner strength & empowerment.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 12-18 degrees of Libra, Capricorn, Aries or Cancer? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Scorpio (Venus being the ruler of Taurus and Libra, while Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio)
A head's up for next Monday (Sept. 12th): the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn all day (see Saturday morning for details). At 6am EDT, we enter a 11.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts until 5:28pm EDT. In the afternoon, a challenging Mercury/Mars aspectbecomes exact at 2:58pm EDT.At 5:28pm EDT, the Moon enters Aquarius and will journey there until Wednesday late evening. In the evening, a Sun/Mercury alignment in 20 degrees of Virgo becomes exact at 7:40pm EDT. More about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)
