I was still not feeling 100% last week, so I had to take it slow and pace myself... Towards the end of the week, I started to get my energy back, and my sinuses cleared up -- finally... just in time for the New Moon in Libra -- and as things started to feel lighter, I felt more optimistic :-)

This week's headline items: the Mercury shadow phase ends on Thursday -- and that's also the day we are ready to take actions on last week's New Moon Intentions. Mercury changes signs from Virgo to Libra on Friday, the first Quarter Moon in Capricorn becomes exact on Saturday night/Sunday very early morning, and Pluto ends it's Station-phase on Sunday.
There will also be three Moon VoC phases this week: Tuesday evening (for almost 7.5 hours), Thursday night/Friday very early morning (for almost 14.5 hours), and Sunday early afternoon (for a little over 13.5 hours).
Monday (October 3rd): the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day. We feel things deeply and have "X-Ray Vision" and "Bullshit-Smelling Abilities" ;-)
Emotional authenticity is extremely important to us at this time; anything less than 100% emotional honesty could be perceived as flat-out dishonest. Once we feel safe trusting someone, we want to merge with them, preferably forever... as long as our trust is never betrayed.
The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power. This occurs by a process of subtraction -- it urges us to let go of whatever disempowers us. It's therefore an excellent time to look at "old" fears, limiting habits or emotional attachments, especially those stemming from past traumas.
Moon in Scorpio tends to run right over ambiguity -- it's "in or out", "with us or against us", "love me or leave me". It can therefore be stormy -- a cold winter storm, or a torrid tropical storm of passion, depending on how we "work" the energies :-)
Manipulation and paranoia are the lower vibrations of this aspect, so as best you can, be straightforward -- act in good faith and assume it in others. Best of all, be truly present to the fluctuations of your feelings -- no matter if they're "polite" or "timely". Feelings aren't facts, but they are information -- and heeding them will help you embrace all of who you are.
Know thyself -- and love thyself -- you shall be set free. Remember: Love connects us to the Power within; Fear causes "Force" to show up -- and that's ultimately what disempowers us and others.
Monday morning looks promising: we are capable being compassionate and forgiving with ourselves and others. A gentle approach is best. Throughout the day, we feel good about making deeper connections with others; in the evening, we'll have an opportunity to become fully committed to a project or task, something that might serve us long-term.
Tuesday (Oct. 4th): the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day (see Monday for details).
Tuesday early afternoon,an opportune Sun/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 12:59pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Sunday on; it will be strong until Thursday. This aspect provides an opportunity to become aware of what needs to happen if we are to accomplish something concrete.
We have common sense at our disposal; we are willing to look reality in the eye, and take responsibility for our lives and who is in it. This is also an opportunity to focus on being grounded and truthful in our connections with others. Again, remember: opportunities are openings, they aren't necessarily handed to us -- we have to "take" them and make something of them.
Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 10-14 degreesof Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius, or Leo? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Capricorn (the Sun rules Leo; Saturn rules Capricorn)
Tuesday at 9:04pm EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for almost 7.5 hours, until 4:26am EDT (Wednesday morning). Use this intuitive time to do some research and think about your daily routines -- what would a 5% improvement look like in that area?
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Tuesday evening/night ahead of time ;-)
Wednesday (Oct. 5th) at 4:26am EDT, the Moon moves into optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius, whereit will journey until Friday afternoon. We're strongly motivated to explore and learn. We're not likely to be big fans of routine -- diversity and new adventures work best at this time -- we're also physically restless and need to burn that off with activity and physical exercise.
We tend to feel more open, optimistic and inspired -- but we also have a high degree of independence, which means we'd rather inspire others to do things our way, than take orders. Inspiring others could come easier than normal, as we can see the bigger picture, leaving us confident that others will agree with us, once they see what we see.
As best as you can, speak your truth without assuming that everyone is on the same page as you. Improvisation works well for us at this time, as we are spontaneous and love living on the edge -- just watch out you aren't overdoing or overstating things.
Wednesday late afternoon,an opportune Venus/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 5:22pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Tuesday morning on; it will be strong until Friday. This aspect brings an opportunity for new insights into relationships and love. There is a chance for strong physical attractions.
This could be a powerful and uplifting time for our romantic relationships -- and for our pocketbook. Remember: this is an "opportunity" -- opportunities aren't necessarily handed to us, we have to make them happen.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (MC) or any personal planets in 13-17 degrees of Scorpio, Capricorn, Pisces or Virgo? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Scorpio (Venus rules Taurus and Libra; Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio).
Also on Wednesday late afternoon,a challenging Mars/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 5:45pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last Wednesday (Sept. 28th) on; it will be strong until next week Tuesday (Oct.11th). This aspect is an opportunity to grow by stretching between two poles:
On the one hand, a practical impulse draws us to accomplish things in the world...
On the other hand, we feel drawn to partnerships and to what we could learn from them -- but we want to find win-win scenarios before we make a move.
Here's the question: is there a way that practicality and responsibility could actually help you expand your relationships?
We seek excitement and success; we may not be satisfied with how things are -- we feel an inner restlessness which demands freedom and "space" but doesn't necessarily return the favor.
With this position, we never feel that we have enough experiences, knowledge, expertise, success, etc. -- it's difficult knowing when to stop. If you can, pause and reflect: this will help with that feeling that you can't get enough, no matter what you do. If you're going to get tripped up here, it would be because we don't know when to stop (or say no).
That said: we needn't expect to feel tormented -- in fact, this is usually a playful and humorous time -- lots of joking around (including practical jokes) smiles, laughter. The key to this aspect is to connect your desire for more accomplishments and success to your quest for truthful yet harmonious partnerships, and a balanced way of life...
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 1-9 degrees of Capricorn, Libra, Aries or Cancer ? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Sagittarius (Mars is the ruler of Aries, Jupiter of Sagittarius).
Thursday (Oct. 6th): the Moon remains inoptimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius all day (see Wednesday evening for details).
As you may recall, on Sept.22nd, when Mercury stationed direct, I mentioned Mercury shadow phases as well: If you want to buy, sell or ship big-ticket items, it's best to avoid the periods shortly before and after Mercury goes retrograde. This is especially true if the items are connected to transportation (cars, plane tickets, etc.) or communication (phone, computer, iPad, etc.)
The good news is, the Mercuryshadow phase endstoday (Thursday) at 2:30pm EDT. This means that we can finally go ahead and book those plane tickets -- or buy that new car or iPhone (or anything else communication- or transportation-related). We can also more easily take in new information, so teaching, sharing and learning will be more effective. Click here to read my blog on the subject.
Also on Thursday: If you set intentions last week Friday or Saturday, after the New Moon became exact, todaywill be the best time to take relevant actions. If you wrote your intentions down, go back and take another look at what came through intuitively. If you didn’t write anything down, get quiet for a moment and check in with yourself: What actions are calling to you?
Friday (Oct. 7th) at 2:26am EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for almost 14.5 hours, until 4:40pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to connect to like-minded people and learn something new about your unique self. See if you can broaden your approach, when it comes to your goals or projects.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Friday Day ahead of time ;-)
Friday at 3:56am EDT,Mercury changes signs from practical Virgo to harmony-seeking Libra, where it will journey until Oct. 24th.Mercury in Libra changes the way we communicate and think. We are more likely now to see things from multiple points of view and to think in abstractions, this helps us be objective.
We have a strong sense of justice and look for ways to make compromises. We speak and act diplomatically; this comes from our desire for harmony, peace, diplomacy, win/win outcomes. We feel better when we are not pressured into making quick decisions. Very probably, the two things we will most avoid at this time are confrontations and emotional intensity.
Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo? If so, you will feel a greater need for justice and fairness. Do you have your Ascendent or Sun-sign in Libra? If so, you will most likely feel more chatty for the next 3 weeks.
Friday afternoon,a challenging Sun/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 3:33pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last Saturday evening on; it will be strong until this Friday evening. What we identify ourselves with could now be challenged. This aspect forces us to confront our will, power, assertion, and authority.
Coming into focus now: the relationship with a father- or other important male-figures. We may face the need to be more independent, assertive, and autonomous.
We may alienate others with a controlling, jealous, or overbearing manner. This manner stems from a deep fear of letting go and surrendering to the idea that some things cannot be directed or controlled. We are learning to detach from (let go of) something or someone that no longer serves us -- the "something" could include attitudes.
This fear may lead us to compulsive, suspicious, or difficult behavior, costing us the very thing that we hold dear. As best as you can, open yourself up to the power of love within. When you do, you will discover your own strength, and rework your very identity. Perhaps most importantly, this aspect puts us face to face with exactly what's been holding us back from leading a fuller, more meaningful life.
We may have to make some changes or adjustments with our long-term goals or within our relationships. As best as you can, be open to receiving feedback from others during this time.
If you feel pressured into doing something or you feel a power struggle build, as best as you can, get centered, get grounded and use your creativity to find win/win situations. This aspect is a major growth opportunity for us: we struggle with buried elements of our personality and ego, learning to face, accept and transform them.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 12-18 degrees of Libra, Capricorn, Aries or Cancer? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Scorpio (the Sun is the ruler of Leo; Pluto rules Scorpio)
Friday at 4:40pm EDT, the Moon moves into practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn, where it will journey until Sunday night/Monday very early morning. We tend to be more realistic, serious, cautious; this can support practical endeavors and financial matters.
Our ambition surges and brings with it a need for structure and planning; when you add in the pragmatism this aspect supports, you can see how this could be a very productive time for business and long-term goals. Our reputation becomes very important to us.
As best as you can during this aspect, avoid "should-ing" on yourself. Take the pressure off, perhaps by saying "I am doing the best I can and that's all I can ever do" ;-)
Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn; it's transiting through Sagittarius right now, making this a great time to explore limiting beliefs and bust through conditioned thought structures. It's also a great time to take a more serious look at the "meaning of life".
As best as you can, be authentic about your beliefs: Do they actually match your direct experience of life -- as it is for you now, rather than 5 or 10 years ago? What is true as of now? What is not? This Moon placement starts the build up towards the first Quarter Moon (exact on Saturday night/Sunday very early morning).
Saturday (Oct. 8th): the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn all day (see Friday afternoon for details).
Saturday starts out with lots of energy and a need/desire to accomplish things... but we need to adjust and innovate, when working with others. Flexibility is key ;-) In the late morning, we have high hopes, and an opportunity to bring a good dose of faith and intuition to our quest for success.
Saturday, towards the evening, we most likely will strongly focus on accomplishing things and getting down to business. As best as you can, refrain from getting too obsessed with anything: Take some breaks ;-) We feel quite in-sync with our conscious and unconscious drives — things most likely flow and we can see concrete results.
Saturday night/Sunday very early morning at 12:33am EDT, the first Quarter Moon in 16 degrees of Capricorn becomes exact. We started to feel this aspect from the moment the Moon entered Capricorn, Friday afternoon. The Moon in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in balance-seeking, relationship-oriented Libra.
We feel compelled to take action. Last week, on Sept.30th, the New Moon in Libra became exact: "Seeds" planted then are probably "sprouting" by now -- and making their first real contact with the outside world. This is therefore a time to stretch and grow -- and create some forward momentum. We may feel anxious or unusually busy.
As best as you can, go one breath at a time. Allow for changes, remain flexible (as much as possible), and find creative solutions for your day-to-day interactions with others.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in any of the following: 14-18 degrees of Capricorn, Libra, Aries or Cancer? If so, you will feel the effects of this first Quarter Moon more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign inLeoorCancer(the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
Sunday (Oct. 9th): the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn all day (see Friday afternoon for details).
Sunday at 12:51pm EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for a little over 13.5 hours, until 2:33am EDT (Monday very early morning). There may be a tension between your need to “get it right” by going one step at a time, versus your desire to zoom ahead. Others are also wrestling with this tension -- so we may feel impatient with them.
Use this intuitive time to make adjustments and find creative solutions to these incompatible energies. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan the second half of Sunday ahead of time ;-)
Also on Sunday, Pluto resumes its normal pace through the sky, ending its station. What has come up in the last three weeks around long-term goals? How empowered or disempowered do you feel about them? Now is a good time to move forward...
A head's up for next Monday (Oct. 10th): the Moon moves into freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, at 2:33am EDT and it will journey until Wednesday morning. More about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)
