Last week was magical: Lots of connecting with other human beings who were, just as I was, exploring the truth of who they are. The more I tune into my energy body, the more I notice the subtle tugs and tensions that arise with certain thoughts and experiences.
Before we get to this week's forecast, I have one quick announcement:
My next MONTHLY FORECASTING FORUM will be live on Tuesday, Oct. 18th at 3pm PDT/6pm EDT/11pm BST(London-time). Please note that we have a Super Moon/Full Moon in Aries this week, Mars will conjunct Pluto and square Uranus mid - late October, and a Neptune Station coming up in November! If you'd like to get in alignment with the stars for those events, join me live or sign up for the mp4-video recording.
Other than booking a reading with me, this is the highest level of support you can get -- and it's only $24 for the 90-minute webinar. To register now, click here http://goo.gl/O7mDgJ
This week's headline items: the Full/SuperMoon in Aries becomes exact on Saturday night/Sunday very early morning. We also have three Moon VoC phases this week:Tuesday evening (for 13 hours), Friday very early morning (for almost 8 hours), and Saturday night/Sunday very early morning (for a little over 10.5 hours).
Monday (October 10th) at 2:33am EDT, the Moon moves into freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, where it will journey until Wednesday morning. With this Moon placement, we often feel emotionally detached; when we do connect to our feelings, it's typically from a cerebral, intellectual place. We need a cause or project that resonates -- preferably one where we can connect with like-minded people.
For the next couple of days, we'll tend to be more eccentric or experimental; future-related issues like politics or education call to us now, as do unusual or even esoteric subjects like Astrology, UFOs... indeed anything from outer space. Our scientific approach to things leans on originality and ingenuity; we definitely love being unconventional.
The increased value we place on personal and emotional independence could make us come off as indifferent or cold in one-on-one interactions. That said, we can still be friendly and kind, provided we aren't pushed into doing something conventional or unethical.
Tuesday (Oct. 11th) is a big day, energetically speaking ;-) The Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius all day (see Monday very early morning for details).
Tuesday early morning, a Mercury/Jupiter alignment in 7 degrees of Libra becomes exact at 5:45am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Sunday morning on, it will be strong until this Thursday morning. This is the third time within the last 7 weeks that this aspect has become exact. This time around, Mercury is already in Libra, bringing a more emphasis to our relationships.
This alignment also brings optimism and a tendency to talk and think more. It favors writing lists and prioritizing daily routines, submitting applications and forms, and test-taking.
We can more readily exercise good judgment, take a more philosophical approach to thinking, and find it easier to bring wholeness and order into our daily lives. There is a sense of mental expansion; we see our world as a place of constant adventure and personal growth.
We are optimistic and enthusiastic -- and things tend to go well as a result. It's all about thinking big, while finding a balance: What if expanding our conception of self, relationships, and "fair play" helped us find that balance? What if that helped us manifest our desires?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 4-10 degrees of Libra, Aries, Capricorn or Cancer ? If so, you will feel this alignment quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo, so those folks will always be affected more strongly by Mercury's movements and aspects; Jupiter rules Sagittarius)
Tuesday morning, a harmonious Venus/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 8:16am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last Saturday on, it will be strong until this Thursday. This brings the ability for compassion and understanding towards others. We are able also to heal some wounds from the past.
We are more willing to be vulnerable, as we trust that the other person has our best interest at heart. We also more easily allow for our own humanity and limitations as we relate to others and are more forgiving towards them and ourselves. How does this show up for you?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following placements: 19-25 degrees of Scorpio, Pisces or Cancer? If so, you are more blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra).
Tuesday early afternoon, an opportune Mars/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 1:03pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last Thursday evening on (Oct. 6th), it will be strong until this Saturday evening (Oct.15th). This gives us the opportunity to take actions that are in alignment with our dreams and ideals. This is also an opportunity for boundaries to dissolve -- to open and relax.
Creative or spiritual activities might be a good fit with this planetary connection. We may feel the need to daydream or inspire others. What might it mean, to take "inspired action"? What might show up in the world? What if you allowed the Universe to co-create with you?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 6-13 degrees of Capricorn, Pisces, Scorpio or Taurus? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Pisces (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Neptune rules Pisces)
Tuesday evening at 7:49pm EDT, we enter a 13-hour Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts until 8:43am EDT (Wednesday morning). This is an intuitive time that presents an opportunity to connect to innovative ideas and unique world views. Let your vision change your perspective.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Tuesday night and Wednesday morning ahead of time ;-)
Wednesday (Oct. 12th): the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius and VoC until 8:43am EDT (see Monday very early morning for details).
Wednesday very early morning, a somewhat challenging Venus/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 8:16am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Monday night on, it will be strong until Wednesday evening. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice… so we need to develop inner awareness.
Learning to let go of the past means being willing to release relationships we have outgrown. Learning ways to abruptly alter our circumstances without emotional turmoil: This is the way Uranus’s energy urges us to grow. We need freedom "within" our relationships, not "from" them.
It's also time to reevaluate the ways we've imprisoned ourselves in protective behaviors and then rebel against them. While "Different" is not always "improved", change is essential to our evolutionary process.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 21-24 degrees of Scorpio or Aries? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Aquarius (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Uranus rules Aquarius)
Wednesday at 8:43am EDT, the Moon moves into creative, sensitive Pisces, where it will journey until Friday late morning. This Moon placement often finds us more sensitive, intuitive, idealistic and imaginative than normal. We also have a greater capacity for compassion, sympathy and affection for all -- but especially for those who suffer or can be regarded as the underdog.
But... that very idealism could also be our downfall at this time: We tend to see the best in everyone and everything, and when reality doesn't match our idyllic vision, we might feel upset and even victimized by those harsh realities. A way out of this is to channel our idealism into spiritual or creative endeavors.
It's also a great time for releasing fears -- especially the ones based on a sense of separation -- and experiencing "oneness". Feelings tend to flow more freely; as best as you can, let them -- in fact, "going with the flow" is the best way to go for the next couple of days.
Wednesday evening, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 7:59pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Tuesday morning on, it will be strong until Friday morning. This could contribute either to some mental confusion and spaciness, or the need to communicate with others from our imagination (but possibly not knowing how to achieve that).
This aspect operates more on an internal level: We feel uneasy about something, sort of "awkward" -- and we need to make a choice. Sometimes, imagination and mind can run way ahead of what is actually feasible (and sensible). At these times, the grand vision is best served by focusing on the next concrete step, accepting our own idiosyncrasies as we go.
Honesty is crucial here, especially self-honesty; inner awareness is in turn crucial to deep honesty and authenticity. What's true for you? What might be possible for humanity? Where do those overlap?
Note that I say "overlap": Don't look for an exact fit, this is more like two puzzle pieces that came from different jigsaw puzzles. You might keep looking at the imperfect fit and feel a nagging sense that something doesn't make sense… and it doesn't -- it can't. The pieces are not from the same game. Just do your best to "hang out" with the discomfort, rather than repeatedly trying to figure it out and fix it.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 6-13 degrees of Libra or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Pisces (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Neptune rules Pisces)
Thursday (Oct. 13th): the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day (see Wednesday morning for details).
Thursday late afternoon, a challenging Mercury/Mars aspect becomes exact at 5:00pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Tuesday on, it will be strong until Sunday morning. This aspectbrings some juicy energy to our conversations. This is a chance to have some discussions that have been overdue.
As best as you can, make it a productive discussion that serves you and others -- a win-win -- otherwise you might feel really awful afterwards. Also, watch out on the road for some crazy drivers… rushing might not necessarily get you there faster ;-)
Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 8-14 degrees of Libra, Capricorn, Aries or Cancer? If so, you may feel more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Aries (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Mars rules Aries)
Friday (Oct. 14th): the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces until 11:08am EDT (see Wednesday morning for details).
Friday at 3:13am EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for almost 8 hours, until 11:08am EDT. If you are awake during this intuitive time, use it to connect with others and yourself on a deep emotional level. Focus on emotional authenticity. This is a great time for very deep inner work; as best you can, allow yourself to bring compassion and a sense of flow to the process.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan your Friday morning ahead of time ;-)
Friday late morning, a somewhat challenging Sun/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 10:11am EDT.We started to feel this aspect from Thursday morning on, it will be strong until Saturday morning. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed if we’re to see what needs adjusting.
We may feel an internal dilemma around our ability to get things done -- a drop in our self-confidence and self-esteem. This could lead to us "hiding out"... which leaves us feeling strangely guilty... which leads to us saying weird things... and we end up thinking "did I really just say that?"
As best as you can, be kind and compassionate with yourself -- forgive yourself for having a human moment -- this will support your healing process.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 20-23 degrees of Libra or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo (the Sun rules of Leo)
Friday at 11:08am EDT, the Moon moves into pioneering, fast-paced Aries, where it will journey until Sunday late morning. Life is an adventure, we're more open to new ideas, and have great enthusiasm for new projects. Patience is certainly not our strong suit at this time, but we can decide quickly, and act immediately.
Our independence and dynamism are important to us right now, so we may find it hard to be disciplined or accept advice at this time; in general, our responses to others tend to be more assertive or even aggressive. If you find your foot tapping, try hitting the gym, or finding other ways to burn off the body's excess energy. This Moon placement also starts the build up towards the Full Moon/SuperMoon (exact on Saturday night/Sunday very early morning)…more on that later…
Friday afternoon, an opportune Mercury/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 2:47pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Thursday on, it will be strong until Saturday night. This is an opportunity to take responsibility for our thinking structures and be really honest with ourselves.
How can we get the most from this opportunity? It’s simple: Look for the larger truth. If we can go beyond what we have always known, we could get a helpful dose of reality — and an ability to focus on long-term issues. What are we really trying to accomplish? What is reality showing us?
Remember, though: Opportunities are “openings”; they aren't necessarily handed to us -- we have to "take" them and make something of them.
Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 11-15 degrees of Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius or Leo? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Capricorn (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Saturn rules Capricorn)
Saturday (Oct. 15th): the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries all day (see Friday late morning for details).
Saturday morning, a Sun/Uranus opposition becomes exact at 6:43am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Wednesday morning on, it will be strong until next week Tuesday morning. What we identify ourselves with could now be challenged: we are asked to create balance between our urge for personal freedom, versus our awareness of the importance of harmonious interactions with others.
This aspect is an invitation to stay open and flexible in regards to our interactions with people. We may have to make some changes or adjustments with our personal goals or within our relationships. As best as you can, be open to receiving feedback from others during this time.
If you experience fear or uncertainty, focus on what it is that you could really get excited about and get behind in a passionate way -- something that could make a difference, something meaningful. Also, take it one moment at a time, there is no need to rush anything ;-) Could you allow yourself to be uncomfortable, just for right now?
Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 19-26 degrees of Libra, Aries, Capricorn or Cancer? If so, you may be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Aquarius (the Sun rules Leo; Uranus rules Aquarius).
Saturday late evening, a challenging Mercury/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 10:29pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Friday on, it will be strong until Monday. This aspect creates some tension in our lives. We may feel anxious or stressed by one or more situations or interactions to do with one-on-one relationships.
We are being invited to grow and make some changes in our lives, particularly in terms of our thinking processes. We are being asked tofind creative solutions and be completely honest with ourselves and others. The best way to achieve this is by the continual practice of self-care and self-nurturing.
We have tremendous focus and drive right now, which can tip into obsession. With this aspect an all-or-nothing attitude is very likely. Choose love over fear whenever possible. Not many people enjoy being second-guessed all the time, yet that is something that we are inclined to do now.
However, our determination to get to the bottom of any matter, to rip away falsehoods and expose true motives, can be used for good if we employ it in our work, for example, in regards to investigations or research. This is an opportunity to learn to harness our intense mental energy and apply it productively. We are also capable of very hard work, focus and effort now.
We have a great love of debate, but should be careful that we don't overpower others with our strong opinions, attempting to "convert" them to our frame of mind, or treat regular exchanges of opinion as battlegrounds. Connect to others, empowering them with what you feel passionate about. Choose your words carefully, from a deeply connected and empowered place.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 12-18 degrees of Libra, Capricorn, Aries or Cancer? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Scorpio (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Pluto rules Scorpio)
Sunday (Oct. 16th): the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries until 11:04am EDT (see Friday late morning for details).
Saturday night/Sunday very early morning, at 12:23am EDT, the Sun opposes the Moonin 23 degrees of Aries. This extra-powerful Full Moon is also a SuperMoon, and as such, is more intense in its energy than our usual Full Moon. The Aries/Libra polarity is about becoming aware of the role we identify with in our various one-on-one relationships -- so this aspect is a call to take action, or even to redefine those roles.
Generally, a Full Moon will bring our attention to our "emotional body", this is especially true of a "SuperMoon" like this one -- we become aware of what has been suppressed or ignored.
This particular Full/SuperMoon brings the focus to "independence": Where do we need to be more assertive? More accommodating? Where have we been too independent? Too dependent? What roles or contracts need to be redefined or released?
We are also invited to look at the balance of feminine and masculine within ourselves, our relationships, and our world. Where in your life is this balance not present? What happens when there is too much masculine? Too much feminine?
With this particular Full Moon, not only is there a Sun/Moon opposition, there is also a Sun/Mercury/Jupiter alignment in Libra. This is a call for exploration of loving, equal, mutually beneficial relationships and partnerships. This is also a good time to resolve conflicts, especially within our one-on-one relationships: What can you see only now?
On the other hand, there is also a Moon/Uranus alignment in Aries: This asks us to be brave -- to be willing to take risks, explore new alternatives, to access our courage and creativity.
This also generates lots of core energy and enthusiasm, inspiring us to break free from conventional, outdated social structures, especially the roles we play. We are supported in our connection to the sacred masculine -- assertive and focused, without being domineering and destructive.
What direction are you called to take? What if you accessed your inner "wisdom warrior"? What is the first simplest step on this path?
Mars is the ruler of Aries. It’s currently in Capricorn, closely aligned with Pluto, squaring the Sun/Mercury/Jupiter alignment in Libra.
This combo invites us to stretch and grow: We might have a sense that we don't have "enough" (experiences, knowledge, expertise, success, etc...) It's also difficult knowing when it might actually be... enough. What if you were inherently already (and always) enough? Would that knowledge allow you to step off the merry-go-round?
As best as you can, connect your desire for more accomplishments and success to your quest for truthful ,yet harmonious partnerships. Seek a balanced way of life. Humor is also a great way to connect with these energies -- how could you use humor to support your desires and relationships?
If we feel the need to connect to something, we will feel it passionately, especially when it comes to our long-term goals and public image. We may feel impatient (or even obsessive) right now about our career goals. Suppressed desires surface and demand we take action.
Connect to others, empowering them through your passion. As best you can, choose words carefully, from a deeply connected and empowered place.
Choose love over fear whenever possible -- remembering, as Stephen Covey said: "Seek first to understand, then be understood". Could you let go of wanting to control another person's experience? Could you allow yourself to have productive discussions rather than controversy? What might complete honesty and transparency make possible? What does mutual empowerment look like to you?
Venus, on the other hand, is the ruler of Libra. It is currently in Scorpio, making a trine to Chiron in Pisces. Our inner feminine is asked to reclaim its power through deep connection, authenticity and inclusivity. We are asked to embrace the “power of love” that comes from allowing ourselves to be human and accepting our limitations, loving ourself "because" of that ,rather than "despite" it.
Chiron is supporting us with healing and integrating shadows and insecurities around the feminine. This is definitely a favorable time for practicing forgiveness, both towards others, and toward ourselves. What if there was nothing to forgive? What if it everything were already forgiven?
As best as you can, keep your attention on heart-centered energy and on the quality and depth of your relationships, rather than the quantity ;-) We are invited to deeply appreciate the power of the feminine and of partnership with the Earth and all of life. What are you able to feel when you tune into all the life around you?
The biggest message of this Full Moon is the healthy relationship with our own inner feminine and masculine energies. What if you already knew how to experience this balance?
A final thought: The quest for "more" can drain us and keep us dissatisfied. As many of you know, I use the Sedona Method a lot in my coaching -- try running these Sedona Method-inspired questions:
What's actually here now? Just for this moment, could you let that be enough? Might it be possible that you are already everything you need to be? That you know everything you need to know -- just for this now-moment?
Take a deep breath and allow yourself to lighten up, to see the irony/paradox in "life". Now, go forth and conquer; do what deeply calls to you :-) For more details on this powerful Full Moon, click here and watch my video on the subject
This is especially true for those of us with personal planets or points in 21-25 degrees of Aries, Libra, Capricorn or Cancer (the personal planets are the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars; personal points are the Ascendent or MC).
Sunday, right after the Full Moon becomes exact, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for a little over 10.5 hours, from 12:23amEDT until 11:04am EDT. Use this intuitive time to balance asserting your unique spark with your desire to collaborate.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Sunday morning ahead of time ;-)
Sunday late afternoon, at 11:04am EDT, the Moon movesinto steady, peaceful Taurus, where it will be until Tuesday late morning. We love all physical comforts, prefer consistency, and would rather stick with what we know works well. In other words: change is not our favorite thing and "rushing things" goes against our grain.
What is our favorite thing right now? It's probably, slowing down and getting in touch with whatever delights our senses ;-)
A head's up for next Monday (Oct. 17th): theMoon remainsin steady, peaceful Taurus all day (see Sunday late afternoon for details). At 10:47am EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for almost 24 hours, until 10:30am EDT (Tuesday late morning). More about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)

"I only have wonderful things to say about Sonja's Monthly Live Forecasting Webinar. I'm developing a stronger understanding of astrology and of my own natal chart. It's so awesome to have Sonja's perspective and input on the transits and important astrology events on a monthly basis. The webinar is super valuable, it's like going to astrology school in a way :) Sonja's format is very understandable for novice and beginners, but also advanced enough for people are experts. There is always a nice group of people attending the webinar, and Sonja present everything in a soothing and yet upbeat manner.
