Last week was busy yet exciting. Towards the end of the week, I felt a strong desire for rest and recreation -- no doubt connected to the Moon in Cancer, and the last Quarter Moon that became exact on Saturday.
For those of you who want to have a better understanding of your personal healing journey, feel free to get the recording of my recent Chiron-workshop: "Healing with Astrology" Click here for more info
This week's headline items: Mercury changes signs from Libra to Scorpio on Monday. The New Moon in Scorpio becomes exact on Sunday. There will also be three Moon VoC phases this week: Monday morning (for almost 15 hours), Wednesday afternoon (for almost 19.5 hours), and Saturday morning (for 16 hours).
Monday (October 24th): the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo all day. It will journey there until Monday late evening. We may lack objectivity and struggle with backing down or compromising.
We all love to be admired -- or at the very least acknowledged -- for our greatness :-) So hand out some compliments -- let people know how proud you are of them, tell them how much you love them. Come from the heart in this and all other things... be honest and authentic, as best you can.
Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy as well. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones. If there are no "outer children" around, how about getting in touch with your "inner child" -- it's definitely easier for the next two days. What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps and heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you let out a tiny squeak, just thinking of it?
Monday at 8:21am EDT we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for almost 15 hours, until 11:16pm EDT. During this intuitive time, have fun connecting with others and doing things that bring you joy — explore, take a risk. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday ahead of time ;-)
Monday at 4:46pm EDT, Mercurychanges signs from harmony-seeking Libra to passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will journey until Nov. 12th. During those three weeks, we have the ability to focus on what's most important to us on a deep emotional level.
We can get to the very heart of any matter at this time (especially through conversation). We are more passionate about giving valid advice or support. We are not satisfied with superficial connection right now -- it's all or nothing.
For that reason, our mental processes could get a little obsessive. We may also be more suspicious and expect bad intentions. It's a time that favors reading or writing about intrigue, mystery, and hidden motives. Mercury in Scorpio loves anything that challenges the brain and therefore we are often interested in what makes people tick during this time.
Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo? If so, you will feel a greater need for investigating deeper emotional issues or motives. Do you have your Ascendent or Sun-sign in Scorpio? If so, you will most likely feel more chatty and mentally alert for the next 2 months.
Monday at 11:16pm EDT, the Moon moves into detail-oriented, practical Virgo, where it will journey until Thursday late morning; turning our focus toward the practical and wholesome. We are generous with our time/services and we love to help others. We also have a fondness for science and anything that makes sense in our world -- things and knowledge we can apply and use.
Health might come also into focus at this time. We notice the parts that make up the whole; this is a great time to see if our daily routines (eating, work, self-care, etc.) align with our long-term goals.
Tuesday (Oct. 25th): the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day (see Monday late evening for details).
Tuesday late evening, a challenging Venus/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 9:54pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last Sunday on, it will be strong until this Friday. We can be confused, unrealistic, or overly idealistic around love and money -- so it's best to wait until the transit is over, before making big moves in these areas -- if you make long-term financial investments, buy or sell big-ticket items, or start brand-new relationships, it's likely you will not see things as they truly are.
We are actually being asked to have faith; to let our intuition guide us in money and love -- if we are able to do this, we will grow through it. As best as you can, be compassionate with yourself and others during these 5 days -- it might also help to know that relationships and endeavors of a spiritual or artistic nature can move forward at this time.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following placements: 6-13 degrees of Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini or Virgo? If so, you are more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Pisces (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Neptune rules Pisces).
Wednesday (Oct. 26th): the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day (see Monday late evening for details).
Wednesday late morning, an opportune Venus/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 11:19am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last Sunday on and it will be strong until this Friday. We have an opportunity to grow in our social and personal relationships at this time. Humor and caring play a big role in our interactions with others. In our dealings with loved ones, we can call upon tolerance, optimism and cooperation.
All things being equal, financially speaking, things are "looking up"; we may have opportunities now to expand our pocketbooks -- if we make sound decisions that are in the interest of everyone involved.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 8-12 degrees of Sagittarius, Libra, Leo or Aquarius? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Sagittarius (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).
Wednesday at 2:33pm EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for almost 19.5 hours, until 9:51am EDT (Thursday morning). Use this intuitive time to get organized, improve daily routines, and for becoming aware of how this all fits in with achieving your long-term goals.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Wednesday afternoon and evening ahead of time ;-)
Thursday (Oct. 27th): the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo and VoC until 9:51am EDT (see Monday late evening for details).
Thursday at 9:51am EDT, the Moon moves into harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra, where it will journey until Saturday late evening. The energy of the Libra Moon helps us be naturally courteous and diplomatic; we are more polite at this time, as we seek the approval of others.
We very much want to maintain equal, fair relationships at this time, and are therefore open to making compromises and negotiating. These next two days are a great time for mediation -- but our need for peace and accompanying aversion to direct conflict could pull us to "yes" more easily than we might like.
We may also be able see both sides of the equation so well that we can't make decisions. As best as you can, find an inner balance with this and communicate what needs to be said with grace and charm -- even if it's "No" ;-) One last quick note: this is also a great time for anything to do with visual arts.
Thursday early afternoon, a Sun/Mercury alignment in 6 degrees of Scorpio becomes exact at 12:16pm EDT.We started to feel this aspect from Monday on and it will be strong until Sunday. When the Sun and Mercury come together, we are especially sharp, communicative, and open. This aspect indicates a confident mind and an analytical approach to life.
Intelligence and communication abilities are strong at this time; however, we may not listen as well as the other speaks -- we might be too busy thinking about what to say next. Words matter now, so choose them wisely: If people hung on your every word, what would you say then? What would you hold back from saying?
Our opinions are usually strong during this time; we like to think independently and are proud of our opinions and our thoughts. For this reason, our egos might get bruised if we are not "heard" -- if our opinions are pushed aside, ignored or criticized. As best as you can, express yourself fully, knowing that others may have different opinions… and that's ok.
Our thinking may become obsessive -- but becoming dogmatic may not serve us -- choose your battles wisely and seek to empower wherever possible.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 3-9 degrees of Scorpio, Taurus, Aquarius or Leo? If so, you will be more affected by this alignment. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo, Gemini or Virgo (the Sun rules Leo; Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo)
Thursday late evening, an opportune Mars/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 10:50pm EDT.We started to feel this aspect from Monday on and it will be strong until Sunday. This is an opportunity to accept the validity of our anger and desire, so that we can learn to express these energies naturally and confidently.
This could also inspire us to make resolutions and take actions towards healing our emotional and spiritual wounds. Remember: this is an "opportunity" -- those aren't necessarily handed to us, we have to make them happen.
Do you have your Ascendant or any personal planets in 19-23 degrees of Capricorn, Pisces, Taurus or Scorpio? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries (Mars rules Aries)
Friday (Oct. 28th): the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra all day (see Thursday morning for details).
Between Friday morningand mid afternoon, we have an opportunity to connect with others and explore great truths. From the late afternoonuntil the early evening, we may need to make some adjustments and find creative ways to work with the energies at play: On the one hand we need to collaborate with others and play nice, on the other hand, we feel a deep desire to be authentic and truthful about what we want to build long-term.
Saturday (Oct. 29th): the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra until 10:01pm EDT (see Thursday morning for details).
Saturday at 6:09am EDT, we enter a 16-hour Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts until 10:01pm EDT. We are pulled in two quite different directions: A desire for harmony, within and without, on the one hand — and a drive for long-term accomplishments that further our standing in society/publicly on the other. Use this intuitive time to make adjustments and find creative solutions when it comes to these energies.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan your Saturday ahead of time ;-)
Saturday evening, a Venus/Saturn alignment in 14 degrees of Sagittariusbecomes exact at 8:45pm EDT.We started to feel this aspect from Thursday on and it will be strong until next week Tuesday. This alignment brings a sense of maturity and commitment to our relationships and the things we most value. Relationships feel stable and steady, although feelings are expressed reservedly, formally, or sparingly.
We experience a new sense of realism in existing partnerships. A sense of duty may lead us to sacrifice a personal pleasure to a "cause" or loved one. We are ready to face any problems in personal relationships that have been swept under the carpet -- and they will likely surface. Renewed ties to old friends or lovers are possible, as is a new sense of responsibility in existing relationships. This is not the best time to start a brand-new relationship.
Venus last aligned with Saturn in Sagittarius early January of 2016; commitments made with others from that period can now move to the next level. What did you lend yourself to, back then? Where does that want to go now?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (MC) or personal planets in 11-17 degrees of Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo or Pisces? If so, you will feel the effects of this aspect more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Capricorn (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn)
Saturday at 10:01pm EDT, the Moon moves into passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will journey until Tuesday late morning. We feel things deeply and have "X-Ray Vision" and "Bullshit-Smelling Abilities" ;-)
Emotional authenticity is extremely important to us at this time; anything less than 100% emotional honesty could be perceived as flat-out dishonest. Once we feel safe trusting someone, we want to merge with them, preferably forever... as long as our trust is never betrayed.
The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power. This occurs by a process of subtraction -- it urges us to let go of whatever disempowers us. It's therefore an excellent time to look at "old" fears, limiting habits or emotional attachments, especially those stemming from past traumas.
Moon in Scorpio tends to run right over ambiguity -- it's "in or out", "with us or against us", "love me or leave me". It can therefore be stormy -- a cold winter storm, or a torrid tropical storm of passion, depending on how we "work" the energies :-)
Manipulation and paranoia are the lower vibrations of this aspect, so as best you can, be straightforward -- act in good faith and assume it in others. Best of all, be truly present to the fluctuations of your feelings -- no matter if they're "polite" or "timely". Feelings aren't facts, but they are information -- and heeding them will help you embrace all of who you are.
Know thyself -- and love thyself -- you shall be set free. Remember: Love connects us to the Power within; Fear causes "Force" to show up -- and that's ultimately what disempowers us and others.
Sunday (Oct. 30th): the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day (see Saturday late evening for details).
Sunday morning, a harmonious Mercury/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 8:57am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Saturday morning on; it will be strong until next week Tuesday. This aspect supports imaginative thinking and the ability to connect our day-to-day mind with our intuition.
We pick up on what is going on with people, and can flow with that, as we can sense how our words land. This heightened sensitivity to subtle signals also opens us to metaphysical or spiritual concepts, visual arts, poetry -- and to commercial messaging from advertisers and marketers.
Do you have any of your personal planets or Ascendent in 6-13 degrees of Scorpio, Pisces or Cancer? If so, you will be most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Pisces (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Neptune rules Pisces).
Sunday at 1:38pm EDT, the Moon aligns with the Sun in almost 8 degrees of Scorpio, beginning a new Moon cycle. This New Moon in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio brings our focus to our intimate relationships and deepest desires. If you'd like to learn more about this aspect, check out my video on the subject :-)
All these planets in Scorpio powerfully remind us to face our fears, embrace our shadow, and thereby reclaim our inner power.
The "Shadow" is all the suppressed, denied or undeveloped qualities of self. When we have yet to fully integrate these disowned aspects, we feel disempowered, and are left vulnerable to manipulation or domination. Furthermore, what we reject in ourselves, we project onto others. That which we disown, owns us; whatever we resist, persists.
Who really bothers you "out there" in the world? What specifically bothers you about them? How do those characteristics relate to you? Are they doing things you aren't "allowed" to do, even to a tiny, healthy extent?
What do you joke about, then feel bad about? The shadow also makes itself known through humor, especially awkward humor...
With the Sun, Moon and Mercury in Scorpio, we are powerfully reminded that our thinking must transform -- and with Neptune connecting so beautifully to all those planets in Scorpio, we also have an opportunity to tap more fully into our intuitive "body", releasing old patterns and behaviors with self-compassion, shifting our attention from the head to the heart.
In each moment we have a choice, we can either act out of love or out of fear. Scorpio is all about transformation and we are being invited to do just that, by going into a deeper connection with ourselves, a more authentic and passionate one. Of course, just like us, this aspect has a shadow too: fear and control.
Remember: "Fear" is resistance to life, whereas "Love" is acceptance of life, in all its forms. One way to tell them apart is to look at whether what you're thinking and feeling is based on what's actually here now, as opposed to murky history or possible futures. What is true for you right here, right now? What would "Love" say?
The spiritual task of Scorpio is to learn to let go of whatever is dead or toxic in our lives. Often, this is connected to past traumas -- once again, fear based either on "what was", or on a possible future in which we would not be ok. All this can be scary and stir up wanting control.
The key is to realize that letting go is not about loss, but about transformation and (ultimately) about feeling empowered, since every ending is also a new beginning. Trust thus plays a central role in our intimate relationships and authentic connections.
Trust is something that develops over time -- and it can take a little longer for those of us who experienced trauma in the past -- this applies to developing trust in ourself, as much as with others.
Investigate this with these questions: What began at the endings you've been through? I'm guessing you didn't always already know what the new beginning would look like... Could this time be like that too? What might open up if you trusted to the evolutionary cycles of life... just for now?
Are we going to give our power away to a past experience or are we going to
step more fully into our power by owning that this is something that has helped us evolve?
Can we keep our heart open? Can we learn how to trust ourselves and life again?
Mars was historically considered to be the astrological ruler of Scorpio, but Pluto took that title upon its discovery in the 1930's; it is thus known as the "modern" ruler of Scorpio. Pluto is now journeying through Capricorn, where it squares Jupiter in Libra.
Optimistic belief (and even blind faith) in others may cause us to take unnecessary risks that are out of alignment with our deepest desires -- and therefore not empowering for everyone involved.
We are at a turning point: deep changes in our beliefs are now possible -- if we allow ourselves to let go of what's no longer working around our social structures or long-term goals.
Empowering others is key! Notice when you try to force your beliefs on others -- indeed, when you push too hard, in general -- the more you push, the more likely it becomes that life will push back! The fact is: humor and open-mindedness work better right now.
As mentioned above, Mars is the traditional ruler of Scorpio; it's moving through Capricorn, squaring Uranus in Aries and sextiling Chiron in Pisces. This brings restlessness and impatience.
We can be very demanding and hard to please, tend to feel like progress is too slow, and are tired of waiting. This could be an explosive time: a rebellious urge within drives us toward an emotional challenge.
What we are feeling is actually a resistance to "what is" and the speed at which things seem to be moving. A word to the wise: if possible, channel those energies into projects that need a jumpstart, or into athletic pursuits. Stay as grounded as possible and keep breathing! The future we are creating can only be as fulfilling as the present we are embracing.
Flexibility and open-mindedness also help. Embracing our humanity and practicing self-compassion -- especially in regards to our anger and desires for success -- is an opportunity for healing. As best as you can, could you simply allow all resistance to just be? And just for right now, could you simply let go of wanting to resist what is? Could you set all inner tension free, as best you can?
Saturn aligns with Venus in Sagittarius... and that combo makes lots of connections to other planets in this New Moon chart.
Firstly, it's squaring the Moon Nodes: this brings a focus to our beliefs, and our ability to take responsibility for how we relate, both to others and ourselves. In fact, this represents a turning point on our journey towards making heartfelt (or intuitive) decisions that serve all.
Venus and Saturn also sextile Jupiter in Libra and trine Uranus in Aries. This brings a joyful, enthusiastic component to what we consider possible for us, long-term. Business partnerships are able to get off the ground with more ease and we are good at assessing their risk. What commitments are you ready for? Where might you explore?
It's a lot, right? To sum it all up:
Let yourself integrate all of who you are... even those parts that are connected to past trauma and pain... as best as you can, allow those parts to feel safe and loved. There is nothing to defend or protect. You are powerful in your own right. Be courageous and kind to yourself!
Here are some last coaching questions you can ask yourself:
What if I let compassion and courage think and speak on my behalf?
What if my thoughts and words were really instruments of revelation and empowerment?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 5-10 degrees of Scorpio, Taurus,Leo or Aquarius? If so, you are more affected by this month's Full Moon. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign inLeo or Cancer(the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month's Moon cycle. This is best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact -- and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase. So this month, the best time to set intentions would be any time between 1:38pm Sunday afternoon, and 10:43pm Monday evening (EDT); and then again from 10:43am (Tuesday late morning) until 1:38pm EDT Tuesday early afternoon.
A head's up for next Monday (Oct. 31st): the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day (see Saturday late evening for details). At 10:44pm EDT, we enter a 12-hour Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts until 10:43am EDT (Tuesday late morning). More about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)
