Haste makes Waste -- Astrology Forecast for Mon., Jan. 9th - Sun., Jan. 15th, 2017

Please note that all times given below are Eastern Standard Time -- to change the listed times to your own timezone, I recommend clicking here for the time and date converter

I could tell when Venus moved into Pisces last week — Venus is my chart ruler, so I felt more connected to the feminine and intuitive -- I was able to simply go with the flow, even though there was a lot going on. It really showed me that being present in the here and now reduces stress and allows me to accomplish with greater ease, from a place of loving kindness.

Before we get to this week's forecast, I have one quick announcement:
Last chance to sign up for my MONTHLY FORECASTING FORUM, live this ThursdayJan. 12th at 4pm PST/7pm EST/midnight GMT (London-time).

We have a Full Moon in Cancer and a Grand Cross this week, and we also have a Jupiter Station coming up in the end January! If you'd like to get in alignment with the stars for those events, join me live or sign up for the mp4-video recording. Please note that I will also talk about what we can expect for 2017!

It is also your last chance to get the Monthly Forecasting Forum Package Deal: For those of you who want to feel empowered throughout 2017, and have solid, continuous support all year long, take advantage of this deal and save $60.00 (only available until Jan. 12th).

This week's headline items: the Full Moon in Cancer becomes exact on Thursday morning. Mercury re-enters Capricorn on Thursday late morning. Mars moves over the degree of the Solar Eclipse back on March 8th, 2016; and finally, the Mercury Station ends on Saturday.

There will also be three Moon VoC phases this week: Tuesday afternoon (for a little over 1 hours), Thursday morning (for 12.5 hours), and Saturday late morning (for a little over 12.5 hours).

Monday (January 9th): Moon remains in chatty, versatile Geminiall day. It will be there until Tuesday afternoon. For the next two days, we like to learn, connect and interact as much as possible. "Busy" feels good: connecting online, on the phone, or sharing face-to-face, preferably multi-tasking all the way...

The one thing we can do without is boredom: If our mind is not engaged in some way, we might as well curl up and play dead :-) Since Mercury is coming to a halt today as well, we might have some challenges connecting and communicating with others. As best as you can, be patient with yourself and others.

With Mercury having stationed and come to a halt yesterday (Sunday), it's best to go with the flow, as much as possible; this is especially true for the next couple of days. Also, allow extra time for travel, whatever the distance. Flexibility definitely serves us right now ;-)

Tuesday (Jan. 10th): Moon remains in chatty, versatile Geminiuntil 5:49pm EST (see Monday for details).

Tuesday late morning, a challenging Sun/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 11:22am EST. We started feeling this "stretch and grow" aspect from this past Saturday on; it will be strong until Thursday night. Disrupted routines and plans, especially around our long-term goals, are quite likely; this calls for flexibility and creative solutions.

During this transit, we feel a great need to make progress, as we feel quite restless -- maybe even anxious -- but if we're unclear on what actions are in our best interest, we might act in ways that don't serve us in the long run.

As best as you can, go with the flow and stay open to experiencing something new and wonderfully unexpected; if you can, put off making major decisions for the time being... "haste makes waste" during this aspect ;-)

You can think of this as "reorganizing" time -- like rearranging your furniture -- try not to resist the reorganization. Enjoy the ride… and remember: it only feels uncomfortable because it’s new and different. Could you allow yourself to be comfortable with being uncomfortable?

Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 17-24 degrees of Capricorn, Aries, Libra or Cancer? If so, you may be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aquarius or Leo (the Sun rules Leo; Uranus rules Aquarius)

Also on Tuesday: between 4:38pm and 5:49pm EST, the Moon is void of course (VoC). Use this intuitive time to take a break and reflect on what you learned about your attitudes and perspectives over the past three weeks . As always with a Moon VoC, don't start anything brand-new if you can avoid it -- stick to the usual routine, or go with the flow.

Tuesday at 5:49pm EST,the Moon moves into protective, nurturing Cancer, where it will journey until Thursday evening. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say and therefore our feelings are more easily hurt -- so be kind to yourself and others. Self-Care is key for the next two and half days ;-)

Emotional safety is important to us as well; we like connecting to the familiar and we enjoy nurturing ourselves and others -- home and family call to us, for instance. Make sure though, that your glass is filled before letting others drink from it, otherwise you might start to feel drained and resentful. This Moon placement starts the build up towards the Full Moon (exact on Thursday morning).

Wednesday (Jan. 11th): theMoon remainsinprotective, introverted Cancer all day (see Tuesday late afternoon for details).

Tuesday night/Wednesday very early morning,an opportune Mars/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 2:15am EST. We started to feel this aspect from Sunday on; it will be strong until this Friday. This brings an opportunity to connect our personal passions to our Soul's passions.

We can dream up creative solutions to problems, and imaginative, unusual approaches to getting the job done. We favor subtle or peaceful solutions over conflict and confrontation. iWe feel more confident about our own talents

It’s especially satisfying to do work that helps others — perhaps in support of a cause that transcends our own narrow, personal interests.

Strategic thinking and execution is favored right now, as is eliminating waste around time and energy. Remember though: An "opportunity" is just an opening, it's not automatically granted -- we have to "step up" to the opening, then through it...

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 15-19 degrees of Pisces, Capricorn, Scorpio or Virgo? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Scorpio (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio)

Wednesday morning, an opportune Sun/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 6:34am EST. We started to feel this aspect from Sunday on; it will be strong until this Friday. This aspect is an opportunity for self-healing; this could support our confidence and brings us into better alignment with our physical and emotional body.

We all have flaws, wounds, insecurities. The more we can open up to that being ok for ourselves, the less judgmental we will be with others. This is also a great time to recognize that our so-called flaws and insecurities have become some of our best assets and strengths -- how might this be true for you?

Until Friday, as best as you can, practice gentleness; be kind to yourself and others. Again, remember: an opportunity is an opening, a glimpse of new possibilities -- so "opportunities" are not simply handed to us, tied up with a bow -- we have to "take" them, and make something of them. What will you do with this particular opportunity?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 19-24 degrees of Capricorn, Pisces, Taurus or Scorpio? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Pisces (the Sun rules Leo; Neptune is the ruler of Pisces).

Wednesday late evening,a challenging Sun/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 11:43pm EST. We started feeling this aspect build from last Monday on; it will be strong until this Saturday. This aspect says “stretch and grow!”. There is a feeling of enthusiasm and excitement in the air; it almost seems as if we could move mountains.

Awareness is key: Be alert for undue optimism, that could lead to overextending or over-promising: As best as you can, stay connected to what's real — avoid exaggerations, especially when it comes to long-term goals.

This is a time for accomplishment — provided we don't let ourselves get too overwhelmed by all the possible relationships that are asking to be explored. As best as you can, take it one moment at a time, staying grounded in reality.

We are highly romantic and may turn a blind eye to "what is", in pursuit of a fantasy that we want or need to have fulfilled. Beware of anything that sounds too good to be true -- whether that's in connection with people or money -- it might indeed be "too good to be true" ;-)

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 19-25 degrees of Capricorn, Libra, Aries, or Cancer? If so, you will be more aware of this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Sagittarius (the Sun rules Leo; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).

Wednesday all day and Thursday before 6pm EST is your last chance to sign up for my MONTHLY FORECASTING FORUM -- live tomorrow, ThursdayJan. 12th at 4pm PST/7pm EST/midnight GMT (London-time).

Thursday (Jan. 12th): theMoon remainsinprotective, introverted Cancer until 7:08pm EST (see Tuesday late afternoon for details).

Thursday at 6:34am EST,the Moon opposes the Sun (in 22 degrees of Cancer). As mentioned above, the entrance of the Moon intoCancer (Tuesday late afternoon) began the energetic build up towards this Full Moon. Relationships of all kinds are highlighted during this time — but with this Full Moon, there is a particularly strong emphasis on family- and business-relationships.

With the Sun in Capricorn for the past three weeks, we are now looking for balance, and are more aware than ever that something needs to be brought back into alignment. The balance we seek is between the Capricorn-Cancer polarity. Feel free to also watch Full Moon video

Capricorn teaches us to honor all aspects of the physical world; it also urges us to create and build something of long-term use to everyone. Cancer, on the other hand, represents the formation of the emotional body and an understanding of our feelings; this helps us navigate life by building an awareness of what is healthy or harmful.

In order to emerge as healthy beings, we need to be able to nurture ourselves and others, taking care of our feelings and our "inner baby" (Cancer) — yet we also need to be able to evolve into responsible adults, able to provide for ourselves and others (Capricorn).

Capricorn asks us to step into our power and mature to the point where we no longer need to look outside of ourselves for approval or validation -- to become the master of our own lives. Cancer is about healthy roots; Capricorn is about sharing the fruits of our labor.

In order to develop a healthy inner Capricorn, we must learn to listen to our feelings and honor our needs, not disregard them. Only then can we build something of value and move towards mastery.

Questions you can ask yourself: Am I more connected to what nurtures me -- or to my "shoulds"? Does my current environment support my inner growth? Does it provide me with nourishing bonds to others?

The Sun aligns with Pluto in Capricorn; this provides an opportunity to truly align with our essence and purpose -- it also exposes and purges all obstacles to that process of authentic alignment. What lies between you and your Authentic Self? Focus on dedication, wholeness and truth, devote yourself to your true passions.

It’s also worth noting: Success and rewards will come in direct proportion to the amount of passion and authenticity we bring to the world. How authentic are you when it comes to your long-term goals? How passionate?

This Full Moon also shows us how we demonstrate our power: The ongoing Uranus/Pluto/Jupiter T-square is highlighted once again with this particular Full Moon, underlining once again that each of us must step up and bring our individual light to the world.

We are invited to stretch toward a more authentic and empowered society -- one that honors the unique, individual contribution of everyone -- one capable of owning its fears and less attractive characteristics. How can we bring this about? The best place to start is to honor ourselves and express our unique spark. Conversely, we are also asked — individually and collectively — to look at our shadow behaviors and habits.

“Shadow material” is all the unconscious, suppressed energies and aspects of ourselves, that we cannot (or will not) “be with”. What we cannot face (individually or collectively) disempowers us. When something is unconscious, we have no power over it -- no choice in the matter -- and how could we possibly change what we can’t recognize?

When we are able to bring conscious awareness to our shadow, we have the possibility of choice and empowerment. Ask yourself: What might happen if I brought 5% more conscious awareness to the things I cannot “be with”?

The Full Moon (with its Cancer/Capricorn polarity) makes an almost exact Grand Cross to Uranus in Aries and Jupiter in Libra. This accelerates the breakdown of long-standing patterns: we are invited, as individuals and collectively, to resolve core karmic lessons -- shifting from an old paradigm to a new one.

What might a "new paradigm" be? How can we accomplish change without discounting input from others? What if change were something we could simply allow, rather than something involving aggression?

As best as you can, take it one moment at a time, there is no need to rush anything ;-) Ask yourself: Could I allow myself to be uncomfortable, just for right now?

The position of this Grand Cross in our birth chart shows where we are developing courage and initiative (Aries), emotional intelligence and the ability to nurture (Cancer), diplomacy and collaborative spirit (Libra), responsibility and integrity (Capricorn).

We will look at our own birth charts in relationship to this Grand Cross in more detail during the Monthly Forecasting Forum on Jan. 12th. Feel free to join us -- you can register here  If you would like to join live, please keep in mind that registration will close an hour before the live event begins, if you register after 6pm EST on Thursday you will receive the mp4-video recording of the webinar.

Chiron and Mars in Pisces support this Full Moon, making a trine to the Moon in Cancer and a sextile to the Sun in Capricorn

We are being invited to shift our relationship to the masculine energies and allow ourselves to honor our limitations around our spiritual- and feeling-body. Once we know how to do that, we can start to release disempowering childhood memories — especially anything that had us feel disconnected from our "feeling body" and our ability to listen to ourselves, or feel safe.

For the next two weeks, give yourself time to tune into yourself and nurture your "inner baby": What does it need from me? When does it feel most loved and taken care of by me? What if giving and receiving looked and felt exactly the same?

Saturn in Sagittarius still squares Chiron in Pisces, however now it also squares Mars in Pisces: This is another opportunity to stretch ourselves and grow. Could I shift from "attempting to have a spiritual experience", to simply knowing that I am always already a spiritual being (having a human experience)? What might be possible if I could shift my perspective in that way? What would inspired action look like, if I also took 100% responsibility for the outcome?

It would be lovely if everyone was on the same path, at the same pace… all of us having the same revelations about our basic human nature and our limitations/sensitivities... But we all know this isn't so.

It’s therefore paramount that we focus on our own inner processes and perspectives, without preaching or comparing, remembering instead that each of us has our own path to walk. We can't control how fast or slow, how well, or in what fashion anyone does so. Healing comes from self-love & acceptance and knowing that everyone (ourselves included) has their limitations and sensitivities. Allowing all of this to be as it is, that is true self-mastery!

Try asking yourself: What am I learning about personal resilience? What if respecting myself fully was just a decision? What attitudes do I need to eliminate to achieve greater alignment with my own humanity and my world?

To sum it all up: Tap into your inner courage, collaborate, see the interconnections. Honor your feelings and needs, so you can build something of value -- and share the fruits of your labor with the world.

So… for the next two weeks, ask yourself: What if I listened, nurtured, and treated myself with respect, understanding and love? How might others benefit from that? To learn more about this month's Full Moon, please click here to watch my video

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 20-24 degrees of Cancer, Capricorn, Aries and Libra? If so, you are more affected by this month's Full Moon. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign inLeo or Cancer(the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

Right after the Full Moon becomes exact, we enter a 12.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC)from 6:34am - 7:08pm EST. Use this intuitive time to find balance between nurturing and self-care, versus achieving your goals. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new.

Thursday at 9:03am EST,Mercury re-enters practical, accomplishment-oriented, status-oriented Capricorn, where it will journey until Feb. 7th. Due to Mercury's Retrograde phase, it already journeyed through Capricorn from December 2nd until January 4th.

This is a time when our minds like to make concrete plans for the future. A systematic, practical approach to reaching our goals is now favored; we are good at focusing on practical matters and getting down to the essentials.

We do not waste any words at this time -- what we say is truthful and to the point. We see reality very clearly now -- and it might not look as rosy as we thought. As best as you can, use this time to get in touch with what's real in your life -- without going down the "rabbit hole" of pessimistic inadequacy ;-)

Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo? If so, you will be more serious and possible more eager to accomplish concrete goals. Do you have your Ascendent or Sun-sign in Capricorn? If so, you will most likely feel more chatty for the next 4 weeks.

Thursday afternoon,a Venus/Neptune alignment in 10 degrees of Piscesbecomes exact at 4:54pm EST. We started to feel this aspect on Monday evening, it will be strong until Sunday evening. It asks us to dissolve anything that keeps us from opening our hearts more fully. This connection makes us dream of Soul connections with others.

We are highly romantic and may turn a blind eye to "what is", in pursuit of a fantasy that we want or need to have fulfilled. Beware of anything that sounds too good to be true -- whether that's in connection with people or money -- it might indeed be "too good to be true" ;-)

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 7-13 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Gemini, or Sagittarius? If so, you will feel this alignment quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra).

Thursday at 7:08pm EST,the Moon moves into fun and attention-loving Leo, where it will journey until Saturday late evening. We may lack objectivity and struggle with backing down or compromising. This Moon placement also starts the build-up towards the last Quarter Moon (which, will be exact Monday very early morning...)

We all love to be admired -- or at the very least acknowledged -- for our greatness :-) So hand out some compliments -- let people know how proud you are of them, tell them how much you love them. Come from the heart in this and all other things... be honest and authentic, as best you can.

Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy as well. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones. If there are no "outer children" around, how about getting in touch with your "inner child" -- it's definitely easier for the next two days. What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps and heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you let out a tiny squeak, just thinking of it?

Friday (Jan. 13th): the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo all day (see Thursday evening for details).

Friday: Mars reaches 19 degrees of Pisces -- the degree that the Solar Eclipse occurred in, back on March 8th, 2016 . This triggers things connected to that particular eclipse.

Whatever comes up today in connection to our spiritual- or feeling-body, energy levels, or spiritual or creative projects will need to be released or redefined. This is especially true of unhelpful conditioning around victim behaviors and addictions; whatever it is, acknowledge it and let it pass right through you and go out.

The key is to bring awareness to two areas: First, what connects us to our Soul's journey, that needs to be released or redefined?

Second: what do we need to learn about, or take action on, so that we can connect more fully to our intuition and trust the energetic flow of life? What are you "feeling into" that might allow you to co-create with the Universe?

Saturday (Jan. 14th): the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo until 10:52pm EST (see Thursday evening for details).

On Saturday at 10:17am EST, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC) that last for roughly 12.5 hours (until 10:52pm EST). During this intuitive time, have fun connecting with others, and exploring new avenues.  As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan.... ahead of time ;-)

Saturday at 10:52pm EST, the Moon moves into detail-oriented, practical Virgo, where it will journey until Tuesday morning; turning our focus toward the practical and wholesome. We are generous with our time/services and we love to help others. We also have a fondness for science and anything that makes sense in our world -- things and knowledge we can apply and use.

Health might come also into focus at this time. We notice the parts that make up the whole; this is a great time to see if our daily routines (eating, work, self-care, etc.) align with our long-term goals.

Also on Saturday, Mercury resumes its normal pace through the sky, ending its station. Communication and transportation is now back to “normal”, as are any associated gadgets, vehicles, etc. New ideas and information received during the Mercury retrograde phase (Dec. 19th -- Jan. 8th) can now be reviewed. What did you discover about your inner dialogue -- especially when it comes to "shoulds" — during that time?

Sunday (Jan. 15th): the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day (see Saturday late evening for details).

Sunday very early morning, the Moon trines Mercurythere is an ease around connecting with others and communicating our goals.

Sunday late afternoon: seek a balance between head and heart, facts and faith, reason and intuition. That said, if you can achieve that balance, it’s a great day for being of service (Moon opposes Neptune)

On Sunday evening, the Moon opposes Venus: we are being asked to make clear choices around relating to others.

Sunday late evening, we can potentially accomplish quite a bit: The Moon in Virgo starts to make a harmonious aspect to Pluto in Capricorn. Virgo and Capricorn are Earth signs, so getting down to business and focusing on the task at hand takes less effort than normal. We are able to tackle anything that requires attention to detail and maybe even implement health routines or other systems that support our long-term goals.

A head's up for next Monday (Jan. 16th): the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day (see Saturday late evening for details). A Mars/Chiron alignment in 24.5 degrees of Piscesbecomes exact at 9:14pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from Thursday on; it will be strong until next Friday. More about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)
