Being Extra-Patient -- Astrology Forecast for Mon., April 3rd - Sun., April 9th, 2017

Please note that all times given below are Eastern Daylight Savings Time -- to change the listed times to your own timezone, I recommend clicking here for the time and date converter

Last week was pleasant, satisfying, and fun. I could definitely feel the Venus Retrograde moving back into my 5th House ;-) From Friday on, my body needed lots of rest and slow movement -- probably connected to Mercury moving into Taurus, and the intensifying Saturn station.

From our vantage point on Earth, planets sometimes seem to slow down in their progress through the sky, or even come to a complete halt.

In Astrology, this is referred to as "stationing" -- and there's a lot of station-related action in this week's "Headlines": the Mercury Station intensifies on Wednesday; Saturn comes to a halt on Thursday (starting its 4.5-month retrograde phase); Pluto starts to slow down (station) on Friday (preparing to go retrograde); Venus will also start her station again on Saturday (preparing to move direct); and Mercury comes to a halt on Sunday (starting its 3-week retrograde phase).

Other than the stations, the first Quarter Moon in Cancer becomes exact on Monday, and there will be three Moon VoC phases this week: Tuesday late afternoon (for 1.5 hours), Thursday evening (for 4 hours), and Sunday early morning (for just over 4 hours).

Quick announcement before we get started:
I'm excited to say that I've been invited to do an interview on a radio show. It's called "Insights" and it airs this coming Thursday at 6pm ET/3pm PT! Click here to join us live

Monday (April 3rd): the Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer all day. It will journey there until Tuesday evening. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say and therefore our feelings are more easily hurt -- so be kind to yourself and others. Self-Care is key today and tomorrow ;-)

Emotional safety is important to us as well; we like connecting to the familiar and we enjoy nurturing ourselves and others -- home and family call to us, for instance. Make sure though, that your glass is filled before letting others drink from it, otherwise you might start to feel drained and resentful.

Monday at 2:39pm EDT,the first Quarter Moon in 14 degrees of Cancer becomes exact (we started to feel this aspect from the moment the Moon entered Cancer on Sunday afternoon). The Moon in protective, introverted Cancer makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in bold, fast-paced Aries.

We feel compelled to take action. Last week on March 27th, the New Moon in Aries was exact: "Seeds" planted then are probably "sprouting" by now -- and making their first real contact with the outside world. This is therefore a time to stretch and grow -- and create some forward momentum. We may feel anxious or unusually busy.

As best as you can, go one breath at a time. Allow for changes, remain flexible (as much as possible), and find creative solutions for your day-to-day interactions with others.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in any of the following: 12-16 degrees of Cancer, Aries, Capricorn or Libra? If so, you will feel the effects of this first Quarter Moon more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

Tuesday (April 4th): the Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer until 6:13pm EDT (see Monday late morning for details).

Tuesday at 4:45pm EDT,we enter a 1.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts until 6:13pm EDT. Use this brief VoC to take a break and connect to loved ones. Allow yourself to be vulnerable and compassionate with yourself and others. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow.

Tuesday at 6:13pm EDT, the Moon moves into fun and attention-loving Leo, where it will journey until Thursday night/Friday very early morning. We may lack objectivity and struggle with backing down or compromising. We all love to be admired -- or at the very least acknowledged -- for our greatness :-)

So hand out some compliments -- let people know how proud you are of them, tell them how much you love them. Come from the heart in this and all other things... be honest and authentic, as best you can. Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy as well. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones.

If there are no "outer children" around, how about getting in touch with your "inner child" -- it's definitely easier for the next two days. What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps and heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you let out a tiny squeak, just thinking of it?

Tuesday late evening, a somewhat challenging Mars/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 10:53pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Monday on, it will be strong until Wednesday night. We feel uneasy about something, sort of awkward -- and we need to make a choice -- first though, we must develop an inner awareness of what exactly needs adjusting.

Our enthusiasm for equality and justice in the world could lead us into frustration, fatigue, and dissatisfaction. This is based in a struggle to reconcile two very different urges: toward idealism, on the one hand (what's best for everyone, for society, etc.), and on the other hand, a desire to satisfy ourselves and be realistic about what can (and can't) be done.

Ask yourself: What might be a realistic promise that I could make to others at this time? A good place to "aim" this question is toward "relating" or "collaborating" Here's another question you may find helpful: If I were to be absolutely realistic and honest, how much can I really "carry" for them?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 17-20 degrees of Taurus or Libra? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Sagittarius (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Jupiter rules Sagittarius)

Wednesday (April 5th): the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo all day (see Tuesday early evening for details).

The Mercury station intensifies today (Wednesday), as Mercury is preparing to come to halt on Sunday (beginning its 3.5-week retrograde phase). During the station, we feel Mercury's energies more strongly.

Pay attention to anything "in your face" in any of the following areas: communications, short travels, transportation of any kind, communication devices. You will get a chance to make adjustments once Mercury is moving direct again (to be more precise, during the shadow phase that follows).

For the next 8 days, we might experience delays or misunderstandings; things could feel "off" or stagnant. It might be a good idea to give yourself some extra time when getting ready to go somewhere -- and that goes for the journey itself, too -- especially if you intend to drive or use public transportation. Going with the flow is definitely recommended at this time.

Be extra-patient if you intend to buy, sell or ship big-ticket items, especially if they are transportation or communication devices like anything connected with planes, trains, cars, phones, computers, iPads, etc. Best of all (if possible): wait until after May20th, when the shadow phase is over.

Some of us will feel the effects of the Mercury station more than others: those of us who have Gemini or Virgo as our Sun- or Rising-Sign (Ascendant); and those of us with personal planets in 2-5 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo or Aquarius.

Wednesday night/Thursday very early morning, a harmonious Mars/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 12:01am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last Saturday on (April 1st), it will be strong until next week Monday (April 10th). This aspect brings a powerful ability to pursue and accomplish our objectives. We are able to see more clearly where we are heading and where we want to commit.

Our vitality and energy levels are at a high point. We are most likely feeling ambitious and dynamic right now. Our recuperative powers are excellent and our health is robust. We might feel inspired to build up our physical strength during this astrological influence, and this is a good idea -- we can develop greater endurance and vitality now, which will rejuvenate our body.

This is definitely a strong energy for steady, practical, down-to-earth work on a project. It is also quite a sexy combination. As best as you can, leverage this powerful mixture of energies to go after the things you have been wanting for a while now... and as Pluto is involved, use it all to fulfill on your Soul's purpose.

Anything that we feel deeply passionate about and that feels in complete alignment with our deepest core, is very likely part of our Soul's journey. What moves you? What turns you on? Not just on a physical level but also on an emotional and spiritual level? If you had all the resources that you needed, what might you choose to manifest?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 16-23 degrees of Taurus, Capricorn, or Virgo? If so, you will be even more blessed by this aspect than those who do not; this is also true for those of us with our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Scorpio (Mars being the ruler of Aries; Pluto rules Scorpio)

Thursday (April 6th): the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo all day (see Tuesday early evening for details).

Thursday at 1:06am EDT, Saturn comes to a halt in almost 28 degrees of Sagittarius and goes retrograde until August 25th.

We will get very clear on what we are truly committed to -- or not -- and on how we are living our lives in regards to our physical reality. We will also get clear on what we believe is possible when it comes to achieving our goals.

Our physical realities may feel like they have come to a compete halt. Take a deep breath whenever you can, as often as you can (especially Wednesday through Friday of this week).

Saturn represents our structures, responsibilities, commitments -- and our ability to "do" life on life's terms. When this planet comes to a halt and turns retrograde, we get to see where we need to create or renew our commitments. As best as you can, take it all in and see where you would like to make adjustments. You will get a chance to do just that for the next 4.5 months.

If you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 20-26 degrees of Sagittarius, Gemini, Piscesor Virgo, you will be more affected by this station and retrograde-phase. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Capricorn (Saturn being the ruler of Capricorn).

Thursday at 8:16pm EDT, we enter a 4-hour Moon void of course (VoC). that last until 12:20am EDT (Thursday night/Friday very early morning). During this intuitive time, have fun connecting with others, and exploring new avenues.  As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can though, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Thursday evening/night ahead of time ;-)

If you have been thinking about listening to my interview on the radio show called "Insights"... It's today (Thursday) at 6pm ET/3pm PT! Click here to join us live

Friday (April 7th) at 12:20am EDT, the Moon moves into detail-oriented, practical Virgo, where it will journey until Sunday early morning; turning our focus toward the practical and wholesome. We are generous with our time/services and we love to help others. We also have a fondness for science and anything that makes sense in our world -- things and knowledge we can apply and use.

Health might come also into focus at this time. We notice the parts that make up the whole; this is a great time to see if our daily routines (eating, work, self-care, etc.) align with our long-term goals.

Friday late afternoon, a Sun/Jupiter opposition becomes exact at 5:39pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Tuesday on, it will be strong until next week Monday (April 10th). This aspect can bring an opportunity to open up our consciousness through other people. As best as you can, expand your perspectives about life, relationships and enjoy the optimism.

The urge to grow and expand is strong, but we might overreach -- and hasty actions could backfire. As best as you can, don’t expect too much from others or yourself; avoid over-promising, and create a win-win whenever you can. Use humor :-)

Projects or ambitions may come to a culmination point, or undergo surprising changes; ask yourself: What insights am I receiving? Where can I go from here? What if I walked in their shoes, just for a moment? Where would I walk to?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (MC) or any personal planets in 15-22 degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer or Capricorn? If so, you may feel more affected by this opposition. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Sagittarius (the Sun rules Leo; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).

Also on Friday, Pluto starts to slow down (station) in 19 degrees of Capricorn, in preparation for the retrograde phase that begins on April 20th (more about that in 10 days). This station will last until May 2nd. When an outer planet stations, its energy gets more pronounced; we become more aware of its impact on us -- and this can sometimes cause discomfort. We are being asked to hang out with that discomfort and observe what comes up.

Pluto is associated with our Soul Purpose. It relates to the process of empowerment -- our ability to feel empowered from within, through the experience of wholeness -- and to our deepest passions.

It is also associated with transformation, for example our ability to transform darkness into light or "death" into "rebirth". Those terms don't necessarily refer to physical death or rebirth, but rather some sort of ending and beginning.

To get to a place of truthfulness on the soul level, Pluto will remove what no longer serves us, replacing it with something new -- something fully aligned with our deepest passions and Soul Purpose.

When we resist the deep changes Pluto brings, we tend to suffer; on the other hand, when we surrender and allow for that process to take place, we will move to a place of greater authenticity -- and feel a newness and empowerment from within.

As best as you can, take a closer look at whatever is "in your face" for the next 3.5 weeks. Look for what might no longer be in alignment with your Soul's Purpose (your deep authentic Self).

Ask yourself: Where am I holding on, out of fear? What habits, behaviors or fears are holding me back from feeling fully empowered from within? What would it look like, if I was fully aligned with my Soul Purpose? How would it feel? When we confront our fears we very often discover hidden gifts and strengths.

We will also address the Pluto station in more detail in my upcoming Forecasting Forum (go all the way to the bottom for more details or click here).

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 17-21 degrees of Capricorn, Aries, Cancer or Libra? If so, you will feel this station more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Scorpio (Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio).

Saturday (April 8th): the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day (see Friday very early morning for details).

Saturday late afternoon, a challenging Venus/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 4:28pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Monday (April 3rd); due to Venus's and Saturn's station phases, it will be strong until April 28th

Due to the Venus retrograde, this is actually the second time this year that we will experience this aspect; the first was at the end of January. Think back to that time: what shifted for you in regards to relationships (or relating)? Was there any change in the value you place on yourself and others?

This aspectasks us to stretch and grow beyond how we've known ourselves in our relationships up to this point -- a process of maturing that requires we adjust and stay flexible.

On the one hand, we want to make spiritual or romantic connections, while going with the flow, feeling our way through. On the other hand, we feel a sharp need to explore “the truth” about ourselves/others/life — to determine what beliefs align with our own direct experience. Do your best to make space for both of these urges.

We tend to be more cautious when it comes to relationships and finances now -- and in fact, this is not the best time to start a brand-new romantic relationship. Financially though, this aspect can be eye-opening; if we can find creative ways to deal with money, we will grow from it.

The key is to approach things in both realms with intuition and maturity. Pushing will most likely not get us what we want: better to go one step at a time, slow and steady; that way, we can come back later with a stronger approach and more mature expectations.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following: 26-29 degrees of Pisces, Sagittarius, Virgo, Gemini or 0 degrees of Aries, Capricorn, Libra or Cancer? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Capricorn (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn).

Saturday evening, a challenging Sun/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 8:49pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Wednesday evening on; it will be strong until next week Tuesday evening (April 11th). What we identify ourselves with could now be challenged. This aspect forces us to confront our will, power, assertion, and authority.

Coming into focus now: the relationship with a father- or other important male-figures. We may face the need to be more independent, assertive, and autonomous.

We may alienate others with a controlling, jealous, or overbearing manner. This manner stems from a deep fear of letting go and surrendering to the idea that some things cannot be directed or controlled. We are learning to detach from (let go of) something or someone that no longer serves us -- the "something" could include attitudes.

This fear may lead us to compulsive, suspicious, or difficult behavior, costing us the very thing that we hold dear. As best as you can, open yourself up to the power of love within. When you do, you will discover your own strength, and rework your very identity. Perhaps most importantly, this aspect puts us face to face with exactly what's been holding us back from leading a fuller, more meaningful life.

We may have to make some changes or adjustments between our immediate personal desires and our long-term goals. As best as you can, be open to receiving feedback from others during this time.

If you feel pressured into doing something or you feel a power struggle build, as best as you can, get centered, get grounded and open your heart and mind. This aspect is a major growth opportunity for us: we struggle with buried elements of our personality and ego, learning to face, accept and transform them.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 16-23 degrees of Aries, Capricorn, Libra or Cancer? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Scorpio (the Sun is the ruler of Leo; Pluto rules Scorpio)

Also on Saturday, Venus starts to slow down again (station)--the planet’s movement through the sky appears from Earth to be slowing down; it’s actually getting ready to come to a halt (and moving direct) on April 15th. The station brings all relationship, self-worth and financial issues to the forefront.

This stationing period lasts until April 22nd, bringing into focus what we do and don’t have; until then, we are more aware of our relationships or the lack thereof. This forces us to look at who we value (including ourselves) and at what is truly important to us on a Soul-level. It’s important to pay attention now, because when Venus goes direct again, we’ll get a chance to address and resolve all these issues.

Is your Sun sign or Ascendant in Taurus or Libra? Or do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 25-29 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Gemini or Sagittarius? If so, you will feel a stronger connection to this Venus station.

Sunday (April 9th): the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo until 8:34am EDT(see Friday very early morning for details).

Sunday at 4:21am EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for a little over 4 hours, until 8:34am EDT. Do your best to use this intuitive time to make some adjustments in your life and find creative solutions to seemingly unsolvable situations.

Make space both for looking at your beliefs, to see which ones are sound, and for organizing your daily routines. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Sunday morning ahead of time ;-)

Sunday at 8:34am EDT, the Moon moves into harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra, where it will journey until Tuesday evening. The energy of the Libra Moon helps us be naturally courteous and diplomatic; we are more polite at this time, as we seek the approval of others.

We very much want to maintain equal, fair relationships at this time, and are therefore open to making compromises and negotiating. These next two days are a great time for mediation -- but our need for peace and accompanying aversion to direct conflict could pull us to "yes" more easily than we might like.

We may also be able see both sides of the equation so well that we can't make decisions. As best as you can, find an inner balance with this and communicate what needs to be said with grace and charm -- even if it's "No" ;-) One last quick note: this is also a great time for anything to do with visual arts.

This Moon placement also starts the build-up towards the Full Moon (exact next week Tuesday). Click here to watch my Full Moon video (will be posted by Wednesday morning - April 5th)

Sunday at 7:14pm EDT, Mercury comes to a still stand at almost 5 degrees of Taurus (starting its 3-week retrograde phase), slowing things down tremendously from Saturday until Monday. Give yourself extra time to go to work this morning or to get things done. If you are traveling today, just simply go with the flow… you'll get there... eventually ;-) The same is true when it comes to all our technological devices…

This retrograde phasewill last until May 3rd. People worry about Mercury retrogrades, but it’s important not to stop one's life during these times. As mentioned above, certain things may take longer -- but a retrograde gives us a chance to resolve things that have been keeping us from living our vision -- especially things that came up within the past three weeks.

Take time to investigate your own thought processes: What feels too busy to you? What if you got really clear about that?

For the next three weeks, we get a chance to explore our sense of self-worth and personal desires, connecting from within to what we desire to have, own, and go after. We may even get to reorganize our financial dealings -- especially around our resources and earning power.

It's also a chance to readdress anything connected to our talents; this too is a process that begins internally and works its way out. It provides a chance to honor and communicate our sense of worth. It's time to rethink, retool and release what no longer works.

As always: with Mercury retrograde, always read the small print -- and re-read a contract before signing (if you have to sign something) -- or ask another person for a second opinion... Basically, during these periods, it's best to be aware of any details that we might have overlooked... and check in with our intuition... and stay open to the possibility of renegotiation or adjustments, down the line!

In general, Mercury Retrograde is a great time for re-evaluating and re-organizing. This is especially true for our thought patterns and decisions (particularly those made in the 3 weeks prior to the start of the retrograde) -- but it's true of our lives in general: we can reach a clearer understanding as to what works, and what doesn’t, and what needs to change.

Reconnecting with old friends, clients and family members (especially siblings) is also favored at this time …

Mercury also represents our day-to-day mind; this too is experienced more internally at this time. When it comes to communication, make sure that what you say, write and hear is the same as the intended meaning -- and use the spell-checker ;-)

Another thing to take into consideration: how does each Mercury retrograde phase affect your personal birth chart. Do you have any personal planets that Mercury will align with during its retrograde journey? The houses of your chart each represent different areas of your life -- which of the houses in your chart is affected by this retrograde? And in fact...

Mercury is just one of four planets that are either retrograde, or will station and go retrograde in April; the others are Venus, Saturn & Pluto
