Last week, I noticed that my mind has this habit of giving meaning or justification for why feelings are coming up. I had a profound realization: When feelings show up, I can simply allow myself to feel them -- I don't need to understand them, or create a story of "why" I am feeling what I am feeling.
And of course, some feelings are connected to past issues or habits, and have nothing to do with the here and now. Simply embracing my "inner baby" and allowing it to feel whatever it needs to was comforting -- and feelings seem to flow through me much faster.
This week's headline items: the Balsamic Moon phase begins on Monday afternoon and the New Moon/SuperMoon in Gemini becomes exact on Thursday morning. There will also be three Moon VoC phases this week: Tuesday very early morning (for 5.5 hours), Wednesday afternoon (for a little over 17 hours), and Saturday very early morning (for a little over 5 hours).
Monday (May 22nd): the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries, where it will journey until Tuesday morning. Life is an adventure, we're more open to new ideas, and have great enthusiasm for new projects. Patience is certainly not our strong suit at this time, but we can decide quickly, and act immediately.
Our independence and dynamism are important to us right now, so we may find it hard to be disciplined or accept advice at this time; in general, our responses to others tend to be more assertive or even aggressive. If you find your foot tapping, try hitting the gym, or finding other ways to burn off the body's excess energy.
Monday afternoon, around 3pm EDT, the Balsamic Moon phase begins -- when the Moon reaches 20 degrees of Aries. This lasts until Thursday afternoon, when the New Moon in Gemini becomes exact (for those of you who are impatiently waiting for my New Moon video, click here). We are being asked to slow down and get quiet, so we can listen to our intuition.
For some of us, this might be a stretch. As best as you can: stay grounded, take a deep breath and exhale any tensions. Rather than starting something brand-new, put all that energy into completing existing projects or processes. This is also a great time for letting go of whatever no longer serves us. What if you could hear the voice of your inner wisdom? What might it be saying?
Tuesday (May 23rd): the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries until 8:33am EDT (see Monday for details).
Tuesday early morning, at 2:59am EDT, we enter a 5.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts until 8:33am EDT. If you are awake during this intuitive time, use it to make connections to people that can enthusiastically support your projects (and sentiments).
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Tuesday early morning ahead of time ;-)
Tuesday at 8:33am EDT, the Moon moves into steady, peaceful Taurus, where it will be until Thursday morning. We love all physical comforts, prefer consistency, and would rather stick with what we know works well. In other words: change is not our favorite thing and "rushing things" goes against our grain.
What is our favorite thing for the next two days? It's probably, slowing down and getting in touch with whatever delights our senses ;-)
Wednesday (May 24th): the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all day (see Tuesday morning for details).
Wednesday at 3:08pm EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that last for a little over 17 hours, until 8:15am EDT (Thursday morning). This is an intuitive time -- use it to transform long-term goals and make realistic financial plans.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Wednesday evening and Thursday early morning ahead of time ;-)
As Wednesday is also the last day before the New Moon becomes exact, this is a great day to let go of what no longer serves us. As best as you can, avoid jumping the gun: Rather than launching into brand-new endeavors or connections, wait until a couple of days have passed after the New Moon.
Some of us might feel a little anxious or nervous today: As best as you can, get quiet and go within… Listen to the silence between the sounds… Find peace in the connection with your innermost and truest Self.
Thursday (May 25th) is a big day! The Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus until 8:15am EDT(see Tuesday morning for details).
Thursday at 8:15am EDT, the Moon moves into chatty, versatile Gemini, where it will be until Saturday morning. For the next two days, we like to learn, connect and interact as much as possible. "Busy" feels good: connecting online, on the phone, or sharing face-to-face, preferably multi-tasking all the way... The one thing we can do without is boredom: If our mind is not engaged in some way, we might as well curl up and play dead :-)
Thursday early afternoon, a challenging Venus/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 12:22pm EDT. We started feeling this aspect from Sunday night on; it will be strong until this Sunday evening. The Universe is asking us to stretch and grow. This aspect is also part of a T-Square involving Venus, Pluto and Jupiter (I go into this in more detail in the "New Moon/SuperMoon in Gemini" section, below ;-)
Venus represents our relationships and that which we most value; these areas may undergo major transformations. This aspect challenges us to find meaning in our life through partnerships. We must now uncover the deeper layer of our life. With Pluto in the mix, social interactions could be intense.
You may see changes in financial status or relationships. In the latter, things erupt that have been brewing beneath the surface for some time; this may prove disruptive: As best you can, empower rather than disempower. We may become obsessed with our commitments and our partner during this time.
We may also experience Pluto through our partner or partnerships, experiencing manipulation and controlling behaviors; we must be especially wary of resisting change and holding onto lower vibrational attachments. It's time to let go of destructive attachments and connections. How can we grow and evolve in our partnerships? Is there a relationship that we need to grow and evolve out of?
This aspect could also express itself through sexual tension; there is a strong desire for love in its physical expression. However, keep your standards high, so you can come upon a love that fulfills all your needs -- definitely don't start a relationship with "just anyone", in order to avoid being alone.
Remember to be true to your own values; wait for someone with whom you can have a relationship based on trust, love and a genuine desire for intimacy -- and work on being worth finding, in the meantime :-) As best as you can, stay grounded in love, not fear. Stay flexible and open-minded. As best as you can, nurture yourself; make sure you have everything you need to be able to come from a place of inner strength & empowerment.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 16-22 degrees of Aries, Capricorn, Libra or Cancer? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Scorpio (Venus being the ruler of Taurus and Libra, while Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio)
Thursday, May 25th at 3:44pm EDT, the Moon aligns with the Sun in almost 5 degrees of Gemini. Not only is this the beginning of a new Moon cycle, it is also a “SuperMoon". To get a more detailed understanding of this New Moon, watch my New Moon video
SuperMoons occur when the Moon becomes either Full or New while at its closest distance to the Earth; they are therefore more powerful. They generate greater gravitational and electromagnetic forces and therefore increased effects on our physical, mental and emotional bodies. This in turn facilitates greater shifts in consciousness.
There are also two T-Squares, one “Yod", and one Grand Trine in this New Moon chart. This increases the need to expand our vision for what's possible over the next four weeks -- especially since Jupiter is involved in one of those T-Squares, and is the focus point of the Yod. I will talk more about this in a moment, but first let's look at the Gemini energy for this Super New Moon.
With the New Moon in curious, quick-witted, chatty, versatile Gemini, we are asked to connect to others and share our little hearts out for the next four weeks. This is a busy energy focused on communicating and collecting information. We are invited to look at our mental programming and conditioned mind, to see what needs to go, and what new thought structures we might want to create.
Gemini is asking us to stay in movement, to think about all that we need to know in order to move forward, and to share ourselves and connect with others. Here are some questions you can ask yourself for this New Moon: What is my mind saying to me about what I value? What do I desire most? What’s my inner dialog saying?
The spiritual goal of Gemini is the development of perception, thought, and communication. New connections are created in the brain with each new thought or memory; the more we think a particular thought, the deeper those pathways become.
Ask yourself: What mental “routes” do I keep heading down, that actually no longer serve me? What thoughts am I attached to, that are based on material safety, rather than knowing my self-worth?
Mercury (the ruler of Gemini) is in Taurus at the time of the New Moon. This is invites us to set healthy boundaries for ourselves. We are ready to speak up about anything out of alignment with our core values -- perhaps more quickly than we mean to -- and in particular, speak a firm “No” when it is the loving thing to do for ourselves.
When it comes to learning, we'll prefer demonstrations, concrete answers, and basic concepts. We learn best when we see real-world uses for the theories we are trying to absorb -- we simply process information better when we can personalize it and attach it to the practical world. We'll likely find ourselves asking "what use is this to me?" quite a bit ;-)
Jupiter in Libra is the focus point of a Yod, involving Mercury in Taurus and Neptune in Pisces. This invites us to move beyond limiting beliefs and connect to a worldview more aligned with our heart, our values, and a perspective that creates the possibility of harmony, balance and peace in our lives.
Venus in Aries gives us the opportunity to connect mind to heart, and jump into the unknown with courage, initiative and enthusiasm.
Venus also opposes Jupiter in Libra, asking us to let ourselves be guided by our heart, without obsessing about relationships or finances. Since we are likely being overly optimistic, it might be best to find the balance between what we value in ourselves, versus what others could contribute to us. This is simply a matter of allowing the heart to stir us in a direction that supports both our relationships and ourselves.
As I already mentioned earlier, this New Moon chart has two T-squares. The first one has Pluto in Capricorn as the Focus point, with Pluto squaring Venus and Jupiter. We have experienced other similar T-squares since the end of last year… As with the others, this one asks us to stretch and grow -- we are invited to empower ourselves by connecting to our deepest, truest feelings about who we are, and what we aspire to -- understanding our needs, especially our need for safety.
Social interactions could be intense. It's time to let go of destructive attachments and connections. Ask yourself: How can I grow and evolve in my relationships? Is there a relationship that I need to grow and evolve out of?
We are also invited to stretch toward a more authentic and empowered society -- one that honors our individual contribution -- one capable of owning its fears and less attractive characteristics. How can we bring this about? The best place to start is to honor ourselves, our relationships and express our heart and passions. What would that look like for you? In what ways -- small and large -- could you do this today?
I talk a lot in these forecasts about the power and importance of Self-care -- and once again it is worth our attention: As the empty leg of this T-square lands in Cancer, we are reminded to powerfully nurture ourselves, especially our feeling body, and to open up to receiving support as much as possible, from people we trust and who are familiar to us.
As best as you can, for the next four weeks, take breaks — or simply slow down, allow your mind to relax. It’s important to explore ways to stay centered and grounded. Seek tools or people to help you with that exploration -- any form of meditation, walking in nature, breathing exercises, practicing being in the here and now, will feel empowering to you.
The second T-Square has Chiron in Pisces as the focus point; Chiron squares Mars in Gemini, and Saturn in Sagittarius. This T-square is building at the time of the New Moon, and will be exact between May 29th-June 2nd; it too asks us to stretch and grow... We are invited to release anything that no longer supports our inner growth -- individually and collectively.
Insecurities and restrictions might show up at this time. We might feel triggered by a person, place or situation, calling us to see our own limitations. Following our inner guidance on a daily basis is going to be very important; so is releasing any victim-based behaviors.
This is also a chance to heal the wounds of the past -- particularly those connected to our inner masculine energies. When you deal with issues around anger, ask yourself: how do I manage my anger? How do I feel about it? Is there insecurity around that? Shame? How can I bring love to it all?
These are important questions, because when we look at anger as something that is wrong or shameful, we are actually not serving ourselves or the collective. Experiment with looking at anger as something that you can provide with love and acceptance. Ask yourself: What's underneath the anger? Could it be fear? What if I notice that this thing labeled anger is a bundle of sensations? Is there anything wrong with those sensations, once we take the label off?
Slowing down will serve us more than we can imagine. Ask yourself: What is my health worth to me (physical & mental)? What if I embraced the pace of healing?
We are at a turning point: we realize, more and more, that humanity’s evolution and survival requires actions and attitudes that come from an open heart and a self-responsible attitude -- plus the willingness to make and allow mistakes, allowing our own humanity to shine through.
As we heal ourselves, we heal the collective; rather than asking, "who's fault is it?" or "who's to blame", acknowledge what is so (without judging it) and ask: Where do I go from here? What could I learn from this? What do I want to create next? Where do I want to focus my energies?
As best as you can, be kind to yourself; remember that true healing comes from understanding, embracing and definitely loving who we are deep down: A spirit being who lives in human form. Ask yourself: What would happen if I embraced my own humanity an extra 5% right now?
Given that the empty leg of this T-square lands in Virgo, we are invited to make healing choices from a place of neutral clarity, rather than judgment. What might I experience if I released all judgment towards my "old” wounds and my insecurities? What might be possible if I embraced my imperfections as actually perfect? Could I be kind and discerning at the same time?
Rather than coming from a place of "good or bad", "right or wrong", ask yourself: What works for me? What doesn't? What do I see when I look at that through a neutral lens? What might I discover if I made a list of pros and cons?
One other thing worth mentioning: the Grand Trine between Uranus, Saturn, and the North Node; it’s in the fire signs Aries, Sagittarius, and Leo. This combo provides a flow of inspirational, active, passionate energy. We are able to align with our current Soul's Journey in a progressive, yet responsible way, moving towards joy and our heart's desire.
Ask yourself: What is my heart's desire, right here, right now? What brings me true joy? What does it look like to walk my own path, based on what I am experiencing to be true right here, right now? What might an authentic and unique expression of my individuality be? What needs progress in my life?

To sum it all up: We are definitely invited to stretch and grow this month! We are also invited to remain curious, open-minded and adaptable for the next 28 days.
Ask yourself: What thoughts and mental processes might be leading me into limiting places and lower vibrations? How could I lovingly embrace my imperfections and limitations? What about those of others? Am I being impatient? Could I lend 5% more trust to the divine timing?
With so many planets and points in mutable signs, we might feel restless and pulled in many directions. It’s all definitely keeping us busy, but it could also bring up feelings of being ungrounded or overwhelmed.
Here are some questions you could ask yourself: What feelings or sensations am I experiencing? Could I allow myself to simply experience that, without attaching any meaning to it? Could I welcome "what is", right here, right now? Could I welcome all the sounds inside my head? Could I give myself permission to notice what is beyond the mind? Can I notice the space that thinking happens in and on? Could I hang out as that space, just for this instant of time, this "now"?

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 3-7 degrees of Gemini, Sagittarius, Virgo or Pisces? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly.
The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month's Moon cycle. This is best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact -- and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase.
After this New Moon becomes exact, you'll have 48 hours to write some powerful intentions for this Lunar month — so the best and most potent time to set intentions for this month would be time between 3:44pm Thursday afternoon (May25th), and 2:18am on Saturday, very early in the morning. If you aren’t able to get to it in that time period, give it a few hours, then try again on Saturday between 7:25am and 3:44pm EDT (New York time).
Some more questions you can ask yourself, when setting your intentions: What messages is my body giving me? Could I trust my own inner truth about "right and wrong", without getting rigid and imposing that "truth" on others? Could I remain curious about other people's "truths"?
Friday (May 26th): Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini all day (see Thursday morning for details).
Friday early morning starts out with a mix of energies. One the one hand, we feel enthusiastic and social, and seek connection on a mental level (this is connected to the Moon in Gemini, making a trine to Jupiter in Libra). On the other hand, we might feel tired or overwhelmed by all the hassle and bustle, given that the Moon in Gemini also squares Neptune in Pisces.
Friday mid-afternoon: we feel an opportunity to move things forward for ourselves, especially anything connected to finances or partnerships. This is also related to the Moon in Gemini, as it sextiles Venus in Aries.
Towards the later evening, yet another Moon aspect gives us a bit of an energy boost (this time it's the Moon aligning with Mars in Gemini). If you are driving at this time, slow down -- safer is better than sooner, if you have to choose ;-) This is a good time to study something new online, talk to someone about a new project, or read a new book while exercising ;-) .
Saturday (May 27th): Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini until 7:25am EDT (see Thursday morning for details).
Saturday very early morning, at 2:18am EDST, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for a little over 5 hours, until 7:25am EDT. If you are awake during this intuitive time, use it as an opportunity to connect with others, exchange information, and move personal projects forward.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Saturday early morning ahead of time ;-)
Saturday at 7:25am EDT, the Moon moves into protective, nurturing Cancer, where it will journey until Monday morning. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say and therefore our feelings are more easily hurt -- so be kind to yourself and others. Self-Care is key for the next two and half days ;-)
Emotional safety is important to us as well; we like connecting to the familiar and we enjoy nurturing ourselves and others -- home and family call to us, for instance. Make sure though, that your glass is filled before letting others drink from it, otherwise you might start to feel drained and resentful.
Saturday afternoon, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 3:17pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Friday evening on, it will be strong until Sunday. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed if we’re to see what needs adjusting.
This aspect presents us with a choice: Do we go within and follow our inner compass? Or expand our ability to experience balance and harmony in our one-on-one relationships?
We may feel overly optimistic. Awareness is key with this aspect: What demands to be done? What would a broader view show us -- and how might we serve what we see?
Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 12-15 degrees of Taurus or Libra? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Jupiter of Sagittarius).
Sunday (May 28th): the Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer all day (see Saturday morning for more details).
Sunday early morning, an opportune Mercury/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 3:04am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Friday on; it will be strong until Monday. This aspect gives us the opportunity to bring compassion and an intuitive approach to our thinking process.
Having faith and connecting to our Higher Selves will be of service to us at this time. Any artistic or spiritual endeavors are likely to do well at this time. Music might help us with our thinking process and ability to get things done.
Let yourself be inspired! A book, a song, a movie, someone else's words… allow the Universe to speak to you. Open your mind to a higher vibration -- and remember, opportunities are openings... they aren't necessarily handed to us... we have to "take" them and make something of them.
Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 12-16 degrees of Taurus, Pisces, Capricorn or Cancer? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Pisces (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Neptune rules Pisces).
Sunday night/Monday very early morning, a Mars/Saturn opposition becomes exact at 2:55am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Wednesday evening on; it will be strong until next week Thursday. We may face obstacles, mental blockages, or an opposition to our sense of freedom, our drive, and our ambitions. We also might become more cautious now.
We are learning to live in moderation now -- but this may be frustrating, as we face tests or trials that remind us that pushing too hard or too fast doesn't always get us the results we want. It's time to slow down a little, catch our breath, even experience some setbacks, all so we come back stronger, more controlled, directed, and mature. Taking responsibility is key!
Mars is the inner teenager and Saturn is the inner adult. Mars wants to move fast and get results, Saturn wants us to slow down and focus on the essential -- and sustainable over a long time. What would it take to find your inner balance with those two archetypes?
If you are experiencing these energies within a relationship, we can ask ourselves which of them we are living out: "Am I being impatient? Or am I scared that I have missed something essential -- that something is not going to work out long-term?" Whichever it is, allow yourself to open your heart to the other side, as best as you can ;-)
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 23-29 degrees of Gemini, Sagittarius, Virgo or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this opposition. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Capricorn (since Mars is the ruler of Aries, while Saturn rules Capricorn)
A head's up for next Monday (May 29th): the Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer all day (see Saturday morning for more details). At 2:59am EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for a little over 5 hours, until 8:12am EDT. At that time, the Moon moves into fun and attention-loving Leo, where it will journey until Wednesday early afternoon. It's also time to take actions on our New Moon Intentions. More about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)
