Last week was, as expected, gnarly... we are definitely in the depth of Eclipse season :-) Getting a good night's rest seems to be more challenging right now, at least for me, which is very unusual (my husband can attest to that, I usually sleep like a rock :-)
I had to remind myself to practice self-care, which again, is unusual for me… but then, so much is downloading… I can really feel that Uranian energy moving through my body. I noticed that when I recorded my Solar Eclipse video, I was moving around quite a bit, couldn't sit still… :-)
Before we get to this week's forecast, I have one quick announcement:
Since we will be in Eclipse season until Sept. 6th, I encourage you to watch my most recent Forecasting Forum, especially if you have planets within 5 degrees of the Eclipse points -- we covered the Eclipses, including the upcoming Solar Eclipse in Leo.
Special Offer, this month only: Get a FREE copy of the entire video-presentation of my most recent Forecasting Forum, when we looked directly at our own birth charts to see how the Eclipses affect each of us for the next 5.5 months.
You can receive this free copy by signing up for the September & October Forecasting Forums in advance ;-) So basically you would get three Forums for only $48 instead of the regular $72.00 -- that's only $16 for each Forum ;-) Click here to add two Forums to your cart -- or make two separate payments
This week's headline items: the last Quarter Moon in Taurus becomes exact on Monday evening. Uranus ends its station phase on Tuesday, while Saturn starts its own on Wednesday -- preparing to start moving direct again after a 4-month retrograde phase. The Balsamic Moon phase begins on Friday late morning, Mercury ends its station phase on Saturday -- and Sunday is the last day before the total Solar Eclipse in Leo!
There will also be three Moon VoC phases this week: Monday evening (for almost 13 hours), Thursday mid morning (for a little over 2.5 hours), and Saturday late morning (for a little over 2.5 hours).
Monday (August 14th): the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all day. It will be there until Tuesday late morning. We love all physical comforts, prefer consistency, and would rather stick with what we know works well. In other words: change is not our favorite thing and "rushing things" goes against our grain.
What is our favorite thing for the next two days? It's probably, slowing down and getting in touch with whatever delights our senses ;-)This Moon placement also starts the build-up towards the last Quarter Moon (exact later in the evening).
Monday at 9:15pm EDT, the last Quarter Moonin 22.5 degrees of Taurus becomes exact. We started to feel this from the moment the Moon entered Taurus on Sunday morning. The Moon in steady, peaceful Taurus makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in self-expressed, proud Leo. This may bring challenges; however, it also energizes us to face what demands completion or transformation. This Moon phase brings us closer to the next New Moon; which is also a Solar Eclipse! (exact on Aug. 21st).
During the last Quarter Moon, we are better served by reviewing those projects we began around the last New Moon -- in this case, that would be July 23rd -- as opposed to launching new ones. Out of those projects, what needs last-minute adjustments? What did you discover since then? What did it mean for you? As best as you can, find creative solutions for anything that comes up (whether internally, or with others).
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 20-25 degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius? If so, you will feel this month's last Quarter Moon quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer, since the Sun rules Leo and the Moon rules Cancer.
Also at 9:15pm EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC) that lasts for almost 13 hours, until Tuesday at 10:06am EDT. Use this intuitive time to make adjustments and find creative solutions to the seeming conflict between your needs around practical matters/finances, versus those around experiencing more joy and being more playful.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Monday late evening/night and Tuesday early morning ahead of time ;-)
Tuesday (August 15th): the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus and VoC until 10:06am EDT (see Monday for details).
Tuesday morning, a Venus/Pluto opposition becomes exact at 7:17am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last Saturday evening on; it will remain strong until Thursday. We are called to create a balance between our desire for harmony with people we care about, versus our desire to bring a deep focus and passionate approach to long-term commitments.
We can learn a lot about ourselves through relationships during this opposition. We may not altogether like what we see though, as we perhaps glimpse our "darker" side -- and it will be critical that we recognize it as our own "stuff", rather than projecting it onto a partner or family member. Sexual intensity can be a part of this transit too -- as can fear of losing loved ones or of being abandoned.
We have a deeply lodged need to establish a sense of self-worth at this time; we may start to argue or lay blame in order to feel better about ourselves. We need to be less concerned with how we "appear" to others and more with how we actually "are".
All of this could bring up deep feelings in connection with others. There also might be a tendency to confuse "Love" and "Power" right now; as best as you can, be true to yourself and come from an open heart, rather than a scared one. Ask yourself: What would "Love" do?
Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 14-20 degrees of Cancer, Capricorn, Aries or Libra? If so, you may be more affected by this opposition. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Scorpio (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Pluto rules Scorpio)
Tuesday at 10:06am EDT, the Moon moves into chatty, versatile Gemini, where it will journey until Thursday early afternoon. For the next two days, we like to learn, connect and interact as much as possible. "Busy" feels good: connecting online, on the phone, or sharing face-to-face, preferably multi-tasking all the way... The one thing we can do without is boredom: If our mind is not engaged in some way, we might as well curl up and play dead :-)
Also on Tuesday: although it’s still retrograde, Uranus resumes its normal pace through the sky, ending its station. What has come up in the last four weeks around radical change, personal freedom, and needing to individuate? How closely are you in touch with your personal vision for life? The retrograde phase is a good time to do some internal work in this area (retrograde ends on Jan. 2nd, 2018).
Wednesday (August 16th): the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini all day (see Tuesday late morning for details).
Wednesday morning, a somewhat challenging Mars/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 6:37am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Monday evening on; it will remain strong until Friday. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed in order to see what needs adjusting.
As best as you can, evaluate any projects before getting involved; our great energy and genuine humanitarian spirit could feed other people's unrealistic expectations, leaving us feeling drained and unappreciated.
If we are able to reevaluate our everyday habits and inner dialog, we will see whether or not they really support our long term goals. If you have the choice, go deeper rather than faster -- empower yourself and others by thinking long-term, rather than tearing forward...
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 16-18 degrees of Leo or Capricorn? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Scorpio (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Pluto rules Scorpio).
Also on Wednesday, Saturn starts its station. "Stationing" is when a planet moves more slowly through the sky. When a planet stations, its energy becomes more "exalted"; in the case of Saturn, this means we all feel the need to more fully face what is currently so, our actual reality.
Saturn has to do with doing what needs to be done -- so we can fully understand the practical implications of our reality, and the consequences of our past actions. Saturn also represents our structures, responsibilities, commitments and ability to "do" life, on life's terms.
As spirit beings in a physical world, it's best to observe the laws of the physical world. The sooner we learn to "play by the rules", the easier life gets. Saturn also represents time and the "domain" of time: growing up, maturing, understanding our limitations, setting healthy boundaries with others, living with integrity, being authentic and truthful, being serious and focused on building something of value to society.
Saturn is our teacher. If you had a cosmic teacher, what would your personal "earth class" be in, right now? Where are you being asked to look at your beliefs and become more mature? What calls for a commitment towards a larger truth? What will time do?
As best as you can during the time of the station, bring flexibility and open-mindedness to any frustrations. The station-phase will last until Sept. 3rd; and Saturn goes direct -- after having been retrograde for 4.5 months -- on Aug. 25th in 21 degrees of Sagittarius (more about that next week)
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 19-23 degrees of Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this station. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Capricorn, since Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn.
Thursday (August 17th): the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini until 12:13pm EDT (see Tuesday late morning for details).
Thursday very early morning, a challenging Venus/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 2:40am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Monday evening on; it will remain strong until Saturday. This aspect asks that we question our most fundamental beliefs and conditioning around family values and how we view our relationships.
We have the opportunity here to grow beyond our understanding of what our values get us. Issues connected to love, relationships, and whatever is most valuable to us, can seem overwhelming at this time. This is because we have a tendency to overindulge or over-promise.
We mean well, because we are feeling quite optimistic at this time -- but we may underestimate how much time we actually have, or how good a fit something actually is. Overspending could be connected to this aspect as well (as could making assumptions in our relationships); as best as you can, bring a non-judgmental awareness to any such tendencies.
What are you observing about yourself and your relationships with others? What is enough... and what is too much?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 16-22 degrees of Cancer, Libra, Aries or Capricorn? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Sagittarius (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).
Thursday at 9:38am EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for a little over 2.5 hours until 12:13pm EDT. Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to connect with others, exchange information, and move personal projects forward.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Thursday late morning ahead of time ;-)
Thursday at 12:13pm EDT, the Moon moves into protective, nurturing Cancer, where it will journey until Saturday afternoon. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say and therefore our feelings are more easily hurt -- so be kind to yourself and others. Self-Care is key for the next two and half days ;-)
Emotional safety is important to us as well; we like connecting to the familiar and we enjoy nurturing ourselves and others -- home and family call to us, for instance. Make sure though, that your glass is filled before letting others drink from it, otherwise you might start to feel drained and resentful.
Friday (August 18th): the Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer all day (see Thursday early afternoon for details).
Friday late morning, the Balsamic Moon phase beginswhen the Moon reaches 14 degrees of Cancer. This lasts until Monday afternoon, when the Solar Eclipse in Leo becomes exact (more on that next week...however, feel free to watch my video on the subject. We are being asked to slow down and get quiet, so we can listen to our inner sensing/intuition.
For some of us, this might be a stretch, especially since we are in Eclipse season. As best as you can: stay grounded, take a deep breath and exhale any tensions. Rather than starting something brand-new, put all that energy into completing existing projects or processes.
This is also a great time for letting go of whatever no longer serves us. What if you could hear the voice of your inner wisdom? What might it be saying?
Friday mid-afternoon, a somewhat challenging Venus/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 2:55pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Thursday evening on; it will remain strong until Saturday. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, sort of awkward, and need to make a choice; we must develop inner awareness to see what needs adjusting.
It can be hard to see what we are actually responsible for in relationships, so we sometimes take on unnecessary responsibilities, to ensure the relationships continue. We may ask ourselves: "Do people like me for myself, or for what I do for them?" If you're confused on this point (or any point), as best as you can, keep choosing the "better" alternative and make adjustments as necessary.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 20-22 degrees of Cancer or Sagittarius? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Capricorn (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn)
Saturday (August 19th): the Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer until 1:55pm EDT (see Thursday early afternoon for details).
Saturday at 11:17am EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for a little over 2.5 hours until 1:55pm EDT. If you are awake during this intuitive time, use it to make adjustments and (as best as you can) find creative solutions to seemingly insoluble situations.
Make space both for going after personal projects that you feel passionate about and for taking care of emotional or family issues. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Saturday late morning/early afternoon ahead of time ;-)
Saturday at 1:55pm EDT, the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo, where it will journey until Monday late afternoon. We may lack objectivity and struggle with backing down or compromising. We all love to be admired -- or at the very least acknowledged -- for our greatness :-)
So hand out some compliments -- let people know how proud you are of them, tell them how much you love them. Come from the heart in this and all other things... be honest and authentic, as best you can. Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy as well. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones.
If there are no "outer children" around, how about getting in touch with your "inner child" -- it's definitely easier for the next two days. What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps and heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you let out a tiny squeak, just thinking of it?
Also on Saturday, Mercury ends its stationand gets back to its normal pace through the sky -- but moving backward through the sky, as seen from Earth (that’s what “retrograde” refers to).We have a chance to do some internal work on thinking and/or communication issues that came up over the last couple of weeks, in connection with our daily routines and our wellbeing.
Sunday (August 20th): the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving in Leo all day (see Saturday afternoon for details).
Sunday early afternoon, a somewhat challenging Sun/Chiron aspectbecomes exact at 12:21pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Saturday on; it will remain strong until Monday. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed if we’re to see what needs adjusting.
During this time, we tend to feel less confident about our self-expression; this may cause us to duck important issues, which in turn may bring up shame or guilt. As best as you can, be kind and compassionate with yourself -- healing happens best when we allow ourselves to be exactly where we are, even if it's not where we prefer to be.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 27-29 degrees of Leo or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo (the Sun rules of Leo)
Also on Sunday early afternoon, an opportune Mars/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 12:42pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Thursday evening on; it will remain strong until next week Wednesday. This aspect is an opportunity for us to tap into our optimism, enthusiasm and sense of expansion. We are more likely to connect with others in an active and fun way.
We feel stronger, more assertive, and more straightforward -- and this goes over well with others. As with all opportunities in life, this one is not simply handed to us, we have to make something of it. What actions could you take right now, that would help create a "win-win"?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 18-22 degrees of Leo, Libra, Sagittarius or Gemini? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Sagittarius (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius)
Sunday is also the last day before the Solar Eclipse in Leo becomes exact. There is some potent energy coming our way; it would be wise to prepare ourselves to be transformed by it, allowing for our consciousness upgrade to be installed.
This is a good time to slow things down and go within. For many of us, this will be a stretch, as we want to do just the opposite: jump the gun, get started with something new, act impulsively, etc. This is quite common right before a Solar Eclipse. As best as you can, stay grounded, take a deep breath and exhale any tensions and connect to your inner wisdom.
It comes down to this: just for now and just as best as you can... could you simply allow what is... to be? Could you simply be the “observer” until the upgrade is complete?
Rather than starting something brand-new, put all that energy into completing things. The last Solar Eclipse in Leo (in that particular degree) was in late August of 1998. Think back to that time (if you can :-) — what did you start around then? How could you complete it or move to the next level?
As best as you can, take the days immediately before and after the Eclipse for meditation, walks in nature, creative or spiritual endeavors — anything that supports going within and tapping into your inner divinity. Of course if, like most of us, you have other obligations: take 5 minute breaks here and there, if you possibly can, to get quiet and be with yourself (your intuitive/feeling Self). Feel free to also watch my video on the subject
A head's up for next Monday (August 21st): The Moon remains in Leo until 4:25pm EDT. Very early morning, a harmonious Sun/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 2:22am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last Thursday evening on; it will remain strong until Wednesday. At 2:30pm EDT, a Solar Eclipse in almost 29 degrees of Leobecomes exact. Monday at 2:30pm EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for almost 2 hours until 4:25pm EDT. At 4:25pm EDT, the Moon moves into Virgo, where it will journey until Wednesday evening. More about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)
