Last week I felt really focused -- and I could definitely feel the energetic shift as Jupiter changed signs from Libra to Scorpio. I kind of like it! :-) Probably because it's in my first house... haha! Definitely get the October Forum if you weren't able to join us live... Great insights into the Jupiter-in-Scorpio journey through all the houses, and more!
This week's headline items: the Balsamic Moon phase starts on Monday early morning; Mercury changes signs from Libra to Scorpio on Tuesday early morning; the New Moon in Libra becomes exact on Thursday afternoon; and Mars changes signs from Virgo to Libra on Sunday afternoon.
There will also be three Moon VoC phases this week: Tuesday morning (for a little over 6 hours), Thursday afternoon (for 6.5 hours), and Sunday morning (for 22 minutes).
Monday (Oct. 16th): the Moon remains indetail-oriented, practical Virgo all day. It will journey there until Tuesday early afternoon; turning our focus toward the practical and wholesome. We are generous with our time/services and we love to help others. We also have a fondness for science and anything that makes sense in our world -- things and knowledge we can apply and use.
Health might come also into focus at this time. We notice the parts that make up the whole; this is a great time to see if our daily routines (eating, work, self-care, etc.) align with our long-term goals.
Monday early morning, the Balsamic Moon Phase begins when the Moon reaches 11 degrees of Virgo. This lasts until Thursday afternoon, when the New Moon in Libra becomes exact (more on that later...however, feel free to watch my video on the subject) We are being asked to slow down and get quiet, so we can listen to our inner sensing/intuition.
For some of us, this might be a stretch. As best as you can: stay grounded, take a deep breath and exhale any tensions. Rather than starting something brand-new, put all that energy into completing existing projects or processes.
This is also a great time for letting go of whatever no longer serves us. What if you could hear the voice of your inner wisdom? What might it be saying?
Monday morning, an opportune Sun/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 7:13am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last Saturday morning on; it will remain strong until this Wednesday evening. This aspect provides an opportunity to become aware of what needs to happen if we are to accomplish something concrete.
We have common sense at our disposal; we are willing to look reality in the eye, and take responsibility for our lives and who is in it. This is also an opportunity to focus on being grounded and truthful in our connections with others. Again, remember: opportunities are openings, they aren't necessarily handed to us -- we have to "take" them and make something of them.
Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 21-25 degreesof Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius, or Leo? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Capricorn (the Sun rules Leo; Saturn rules Capricorn)
Tuesday (October 17th): the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo until 1:35pm EDT (see Monday for details).
Tuesday at 3:59am EDT, Mercury changes signs from harmony-seeking Libra to passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will journey until November 5th. During those three weeks, we have the ability to focus on what's most important to us on a deep emotional level.
We can get to the very heart of any matter at this time (especially through conversation). We are more passionate about giving valid advice or support. We are not satisfied with superficial connection right now -- it's all or nothing.
For that reason, our mental processes could get a little obsessive. We may also be more suspicious and expect bad intentions. It's a time that favors reading or writing about intrigue, mystery, and hidden motives. Mercury in Scorpio loves anything that challenges the brain and therefore we are often interested in what makes people tick during this time.
Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo? If so, you will feel a greater need for investigating deeper emotional issues or motives. Do you have your Ascendent or Sun-sign in Scorpio? If so, you will most likely feel more chatty and mentally alert for the next 3 weeks.
Tuesday morning, a somewhat challenging Mars/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 6:03am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last Sunday evening on; it will remain strong until this Wednesday evening. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed in order to see what needs adjusting -- this aspect calls for flexibility.
We experience an internal stress between our masculine energies (assertiveness/aggression) and our need to express our unique spark (and the desire to make a difference).
We are being asked to go within and look at our personal goals and desires -- and reach a new perspective on how we go about achieving them. Are we driven by personal resistance and rebellion, or motivated to positively impact humanity?
Once we get clear about what works and what doesn't, we will discover new ways to move forward and embrace our uniqueness in a healthy way; we can also learn how to improve our daily routines from a place of observation and practical application, without the perfectionism that's based on criticism, shame and blame.
How might you get in touch with your inner genius and share it with humility? What might "being of service" to my vision of my future self look like? What might be possible if I could get 5% more comfortable with being uncomfortable?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 25-28 degrees of Virgo or Aries? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Aquarius (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Uranus rules Aquarius ).
Tuesday at 7:27am EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for a little over 6 hours until 1:35pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to make those work or health improvements that you've been meaning to get to. Make well-being your goal! As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan the first half of Tuesday ahead of time ;-)
Tuesday at 1:35pm EDT, the Moon moves into harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra, whereit will journey until Thursday late evening. The energy of the Libra Moon helps us be naturally courteous and diplomatic; we are more polite at this time, as we seek the approval of others.
We very much want to maintain equal, fair relationships at this time, and are therefore open to making compromises and negotiating. These next two days are a great time for mediation -- but our need for peace and accompanying aversion to direct conflict could pull us to "yes" more easily than we might like.
We may also be able see both sides of the equation so well that we can't make decisions. As best as you can, find an inner balance with this and communicate what needs to be said with grace and charm -- even if it's "No" ;-) One last quick note: this is also a great time for anything to do with visual arts.
Wednesday (October 18th): the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libraall day (see Tuesday afternoon for details).
Wednesday early morning, a Mercury/Jupiter alignment in 1.5 degrees of Scorpio becomes exact at 4:54am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last Sunday night on; it will remain strong until this Friday. This alignment brings optimism and a tendency to talk and think more. It favors writing, research, sharing resources, submitting applications and forms, and test-taking.
We can more readily exercise good judgment, take a more philosophical approach to thinking, and find it easier to bring a new perspective to our intimate relationships. There is a sense of mental expansion; we see our world as a setting for constant adventure and have a passion for personal growth. We might also get a little obsessed with learning something or exploring something new.
We are optimistic and enthusiastic -- and things tend to go well as a result. It's all about thinking big, while simultaneously going into deeper, more authentic emotional connections with ourselves and others... What if an expanding our conception or perspective of intimacy, inner power and emotional safety with others could help us create those deeper, authentic, emotional connections? And what if that helped us manifest our desires?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 28-29 degrees of Libra, Aries, Capricorn, Cancer, or 0-5 degrees of Scorpio, Taurus, Leo or Aquarius? If so, you will feel this alignment quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo, so those folks will always be affected more strongly by Mercury's movements and aspects; Jupiter rules Sagittarius)
Wednesday morning, a somewhat challenging Sun/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 8:05am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Tuesday on; it will remain strong until Thursday. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed if we’re to see what needs adjusting.
We may feel an internal dilemma around our ability to get things done -- a drop in our self-confidence and self-esteem. This could lead to us "hiding out"... which leaves us feeling strangely guilty... which leads to us saying weird things... and we end up thinking "did I really just say that?"
As best as you can, be kind and compassionate with yourself -- forgive yourself for having a human moment -- this will support your healing process.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 24-26 degrees of Libra or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo (the Sun rules of Leo)
Wednesday is also the last day before the New Moon becomes exact...This is a great day to let go of what no longer serves us. As best as you can, avoid jumping the gun: Rather than launching into brand-new endeavors or connections, wait until a couple of days has passed after the New Moon.
Some of us might feel a little anxious or nervous today: As best as you can, get quiet and go within… Listen to the silence between the sounds… Find peace in the connection with your innermost and truest Self.
Thursday (October 19th): the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra until 9:41pm EDT (see Tuesday afternoon for details).
Thursday afternoon, a Sun/Uranus opposition becomes exact at 1:35pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Monday evening on; it will remain strong until Sunday. What we identify ourselves with could now be challenged: we are asked to create balance between our urge for personal freedom, versus our awareness of the importance of harmonious interactions with others.
This aspect is an invitation to stay open and flexible in regards to our interactions with people. We may have to make some changes or adjustments with our personal goals or within our relationships. As best as you can, be open to receiving feedback from others during this time.
If you experience fear or uncertainty, focus on what it is that you could really get excited about and get behind in a passionate way -- something that could make a difference, something meaningful. Also, take it one moment at a time, there is no need to rush anything ;-) Could you allow yourself to be uncomfortable, just for right now?
Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 23-29 degrees of Libra, Aries, Capricorn, Cancer, or0 degrees of Scorpio, Taurus, Leo or Aquarius? If so, you may be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Aquarius (the Sun rules Leo; Uranus rules Aquarius).
Thursday afternoon, at 3:12pm EDT, the Moon aligns with the Sun in 26.5 degrees of Libra, beginning a new Moon cycle. The New Moon is an introverted time -- we go within to learn what we wish to align ourselves with for the next 28 days. With the New Moon in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra, this will likely be win-win situations, fair exchanges, and harmony in relationships. If you'd like to learn more about all this, check out my New Moon video
All relationships begin with our relationship to ourselves; everything “out there” is really "inside us"... Interacting with another person is a co-creative, equal exchange; we must be both centered within ourselves, yet tuned into each other, all the while responding to the rhythm of life.
Here are some useful questions to ask yourself for this new Moon cycle: Where is the balance point? What if harmony and peace were mine to create? What comes up for me when I hear the phrase: "the art of relationship"?
The Libra energy encourages us to see both sides of a situation and find the middle path (or better yet, a win-win). In order to reconcile opposite energies, we need to seek the highest and best outcome for everyone involved -- in other words, we need to see everyone as equally deserving -- including ourselves.
Libra represents the quest for the reconciliation of opposites, especially our masculine and feminine, active and receptive sides. Opposites attract in order to become whole. To achieve unity, we have to integrate dichotomies — but usually, we tend to identify with one end of a polarity and project the other onto other people, or groups of people.
The New Moon opposes Uranus in Aries, creating an awareness around our various one-on-one relationships. Uranus correlates with sudden insights, revelations, and shifts in perception that lead to radical changes in our lives; in Aries, it impels us to break free from the shadow side of Libra.
Ask yourself: How can I balance my need for connection with my desire for freedom? What new insights point towards a one-sided relationship? Where does co-dependency show up in my life? Where do I feel "less than" or "more than" with another person? Do any of my relationships stifle my unique spark? What if I reexamined all those relationships and changed or ended them?
The New Moon in a late degree of Libra aligns with Jupiter in an early degree of Scorpio. We are asked to shift our perception around how we relate to others, ourselves, and the world. We are invited to bring a deeper perspective to the search for inner and outer balance. Ask yourself: What do I believe about relationships? How could a deeper emotional commitment support greater intimacy in my relationships?
Superficiality is not an option with this placement. We are interested in digging deeper into understanding our motivations for relationships.
Here are some more questions you can ask yourself: Why am I attracted to certain relationships? How acceptable is it for me to share my deepest fears with others? What am I afraid to share? How close is too close -- or not close enough? What are other people's motivations? Why are they in it?
How can I create a balance between my inner masculine & feminine (active and receptive) energies? What do I love or hate about others? How do I respond to those traits within myself?
Feel free to also read my article about Jupiter in Scorpio, or watch our October Forum -- we talked about the Jupiter transit through Scorpio in great detail,as it relates to our own Birth Charts. If you want to know how this planetary movement will impact you personally for the next year, click here and add the Monthly Forecasting Forum to your cart ;-)
The New Moon makes a quincunx to Chiron in Pisces, which indicates that we still have some inner adjustments to make around our personal and collective healing processes. What might true acceptance and kindness look like towards ourselves, others, and the world at large?
The New Moon also sextiles Saturn in Sagittarius, which gives us the opportunity to build a solid foundation for how we want to interact with others. When we explore our beliefs about life, we can take a more mature stand with others and have more solid and real collaborations.
Ask yourself: What might be possible if I didn't make any assumptions about others? What if I took 5% more responsibility for the beliefs and expectations I project onto other people? What if rushing myself or others simply didn’t work?
Venus (ruler of Libra) is in its own sign. Venus connects us to our heart chakra; in this particular placement, it invites us to show kindness, evenhandedness, and a willingness to make our relationships work.
Ask yourself: What does "treating others fairly" mean to me? What does "being treated fairly" mean to me? What does the "ideal" relationship look like to me? Could I give myself permission to drop my expectations and my "shoulds" around relationships just for right now?
What would it take to create relationships that honor both parties equally? How could honoring myself contribute to that result? What might be possible if I gave myself permission to approve of myself, right here, right now -- for no particular reason -- just “because"?
We also have a T-Square in this New Moon chart: Saturn in Sagittarius is the focal point, squaring Chiron in Pisces and Mars in Virgo.
The desire to "walk the talk" is quite strong -- but feelings of inadequacy may wear down our energy and confidence, leaving us feeling blocked. "Slow and steady" is again the key here -- and it's critical to keep checking our beliefs and keeping up our emotional/spiritual connections. Any attempt to rush will result in inappropriate boundaries, rigidity, anxiety or overwhelm.
Work on self-acceptance and self-compassion; be honest with yourself about your own limitations and your expectations towards others (or life in general). This may take some time, but eventually it will yield a healthy, realistic approach toward our sensitivities and insecurities.
What calls out for clarity? What role does "compassion" play in all of this? Could I move just a tiny bit further away from rigid, fearful thinking and assuming, to thoughtful, mature contemplation and communication? What if I prioritized where I put my focus?
We experienced a similar T-square 4 weeks ago, at the time of the New Moon in Virgo. Feel free to watch my last New Moon video for a more in depth exploration of this T-Square — and I especially recommend the coaching questions from that last NM video (and here they are ;-):
Ask yourself: What attitudes keep me out of alignment with my own humanity and my world? What if I took a break from convincing others? What if connecting to my inner truth was enough? What might humility do for me?
In order to heal and feel the interconnectedness of all of life, we have to transcend dogmatism and denial, guilt and blame, martyrdom and victimhood. What might a healthy, realistic approach toward my sensitivities and insecurities look like?
This can start with a set of simple questions: What is true right now? What works? How is that different from what was true 10 or 20 years ago? How can I release "old" dogmas? Could I stop "waiting to be saved"? What role does guilt play in my perception of life?
How do I communicate my thoughts to others? Do I actually communicate them? Could I bring 5% more maturity and responsibility to my communications and thought structures?
If this New Moon in Libra had a core message, it would be this:
As best as we can, seek mutually beneficial relationships without compromising your essentials self, values and goals. Ask yourself: What does interconnectedness mean to me? How is it different from co-dependency?
Here's a thought: what if, the more we can approve of ourselves, the easier it would get to create relationships that honor both parties equally? If you'd like to learn more about all this, check out my New Moon video
Also, again this month, in connection with the New Moon, my dear friend Krista Mitchell is back! She is an amazing Spiritual Author, Crystal Teacher, and Mystic, has recorded a Guided Meditation that is custom-tailored to this New Moon's energies. Her Meditations are designed to give you some extra support and guidance for the beginning of each Lunar cycle!
If this resonates, go to Krista's website: www.krista-mitchell.com scroll down to the bottom of her home page, and purchase your mediation there ;-) I have done many guided mediations with Krista, and in my humble opinion, she is The Best!
Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in 24-29 degrees of Libra, Aries, Capricorn or Cancer? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).
The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month's Moon cycle. Intentions are best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact -- and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase. So this month, the best time to set intentions would be any time between 9:41pm Thursday evening (Oct.19th) and 3:12pm EDT Saturday afternoon (Oct. 21st).
If you live in a timezone other than EDT (US East Coast-time), feel free to join my Facebook Fanpage or follow me on twitter I will be posting reminders on Thursday evening, Friday throughout the day and Saturday before 3:12pm EDT, to let you know when it is time to set your intentions ;-)
Part of the reason for this is that on Thursday at 3:12pm EDT, at the exact same time as the New Moon becomes exact, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for 6.5 hours until 9:41pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to simply be still. Connect to your body's wisdom, pamper yourself and others; do your best to articulate for yourself what you need in the moment.
Surprisingly, this will actually bring clarity to what we need from ourselves and others -- and of course, it will help tremendously toward having a breakthrough, or at least some forward movement. Finally, as always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow. You may also want to plan Thursday afternoon and evening ahead of time ;-)
Thursday at 9:41pm EDT, the Moon moves into passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will journey until Sunday morning. We feel things deeply and have "X-Ray Vision" and "Bullshit-Smelling Abilities" ;-)
Emotional authenticity is extremely important to us at this time; anything less than 100% emotional honesty could be perceived as flat-out dishonest. Once we feel safe trusting someone, we want to merge with them, preferably forever... as long as our trust is never betrayed.
The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power. This occurs by a process of subtraction -- it urges us to let go of whatever disempowers us. It's therefore an excellent time to look at "old" fears, limiting habits or emotional attachments, especially those stemming from past traumas.
Moon in Scorpio tends to run right over ambiguity -- it's "in or out", "with us or against us", "love me or leave me". It can therefore be stormy -- a cold winter storm, or a torrid tropical storm of passion, depending on how we "work" the energies :-)
Manipulation and paranoia are the lower vibrations of this aspect, so as best you can, be straightforward -- act in good faith and assume it in others. Best of all, be truly present to the fluctuations of your feelings -- no matter if they're "polite" or "timely". Feelings aren't facts, but they are information -- and heeding them will help you embrace all of who you are.
Know thyself -- and love thyself -- you shall be set free. Remember: Love connects us to the Power within; Fear causes "Force" to show up -- and that's ultimately what disempowers us and others.
Thursday after 9:41pm EDT, it's now time to start setting your Intentions for this Moon cycle. For more details on how to set New Moon Intentions, click here
Friday (October 20th): the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day (see Thursday late evening for details).
Friday all day: If you haven't gotten around to it yet, set your Intentions for this Moon cycle... If possible, align them with the New Moon energies that I spoke about in my last video — feel free to watch it again if you are not sure anymore — click here to watch my video on the New Moon ;-) For more details on how to set New Moon Intentions, click here
Friday morning: we are looking to connect and communicate with others on a deeper level; it might also be a great time for research and diving beneath the surface of things.
Friday evening, we are likely to experience a sense of ease and flow, but may need to slow down and allow our feelings to come through. A gentle approach is best. We feel good when coming from the heart and making deeper connections with others. Being open to receiving, trusting the process and going with the flow are key!
Saturday (October 21st): the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day (see Thursday late evening for details).
Saturday until 3:12pm EDT is still time toset your Intentions for this Moon cycle... this is your last chance to use the best and most potent time possible for setting your Intentions! If possible, align them with the New Moon energies that I spoke about in my last video — feel free to watch it again if you are not sure anymore — click here to watch my video on the New Moon ;-)
Saturday early morning, we feel good about making deeper connections; we'll have an opportunity to become fully committed to a project or task, something that might serve us long-term.
Saturday late evening: we are capable being compassionate and forgiving with ourselves and others. A gentle approach is best.
Sunday (October 22nd): the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio until 7:57am EDT (see Thursday late evening for details).
For the 22 minutes between 7:35am and 7:57am EDT on Sunday, the Moon is void of course (VoC); use this intuitive time to "flow with the go" and use it as an opportunity to connect to others (and yourself) on an authentic level. Could you allow yourself to trust others? Could you let yourself take flowing actions that improve your "day-to-day"?
Sunday at 7:57am EDT, the Moon moves into optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius, where it will journey until Tuesday evening. We're strongly motivated to explore and learn. We're not likely to be big fans of routine -- diversity and new adventures work best at this time -- we're also physically restless and need to burn that off with activity and physical exercise.
We tend to feel more open, optimistic and inspired -- but we also have a high degree of independence, which means we'd rather inspire others to do things our way, than take orders. Inspiring others could come easier than normal, as we can see the bigger picture, leaving us confident that others will agree with us, once they see what we see.
As best as you can, speak your truth without assuming that everyone is on the same page as you. Improvisation works well for us at this time, as we are spontaneous and love living on the edge -- just watch out you aren't overdoing or overstating things.
Sunday at 2:29pm EDT, Mars changes signs from detail-oriented, practical, service-oriented Virgo to relationship-oriented, harmony-seeking, justice and equality-oriented Libra. Mars will journey through Libra until December 9th. When Mars is in Libra, we are more inclined to put our energy into projects that involve equal partnerships, cooperation and justice.
We are also looking to achieve physical balance. Passions may run high during this time; sexual tension and competitiveness with others is also possible. It can be a stimulating, creative, passionate and invigorating time.
That said, we might seek more independence in our relationships — and patience with others is most likely not going to be our strong suit. As best as you can, use this energy to initiate new relationships and to find harmonious solutions for relationship issues. Give your body time to connect to that place of inner balance.
Mars last journeyed through Libra from Nov. 12th, 2015 until Jan. 3rd, 2016. Think back to that time and ask yourself: What projects were underway? What got initiated? How can I take those to the next level?
If you have an Aries Sun- or Rising-sign, you are going to be quite a bit more focused on relationship issues and justice. If you are a Libra Sun-sign or Rising sign, you will feel quite energized and passionate for the next 7.5 weeks. Channeling this energy into physical exercise or a project might be advisable.
A head's up for next Monday (Oct. 23rd): the Moon remains in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius all day (see Sunday morning for details). Monday at 1:27am EDT, Sun moves from Libra into Scorpio where it will journey until November 21st. In the afternoon, a somewhat challenging Venus/Neptune aspectbecomes exact at 4:11pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Sunday evening on; it will remain strong until Tuesday evening. More about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)
