Distrusting Our Foundations — Astrology Forecast for Mon., Feb. 23rd - Sun., March 1st, 2015

Please note that all times given below are Eastern Standard Time -- to change the listed times to your own timezone, I recommend clicking here for the time and date converter

Last week was quieter than usual, making it possible for me to get some things done, that usually fall through the cracks. I had more time for self-care as well... now that was really awesome! Of course, on Friday things started to speed up again with that many planets in Aries ;-)

This week's headline items: on Monday, we can start to take actions on the Intentions we set last week. The first Quarter Moon in Gemini becomes exact on Wednesday. There will be three Moon VoC phases this week: Monday late evening (for 26 hours), Thursday very early morning (for 28 hours), and Saturday early afternoon (for 29.5 hours).

Monday: the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all day. It will journey there until Tuesday night. With the Moon in Taurus, we seek serenity, security, peace, comfort: The Moon is at her most sensual and constant in Taurus.

Our basic impulse is to relax, resist change, get comfortable: Life… slows… down... We may also be stubborn and materialistic under this influence. As best you can, stop and smell the roses during this time -- enjoy life and its offerings ;-)

If you set intentions last week Wednesday or Thursday, right after the New Moon became exact, Monday will be a great time to take relevant actions. If you wrote your intentions down, go back and take another look at what came through intuitively. If you didn’t write anything down, get quiet for a moment and check in with yourself: What actions are calling to you?

Monday morning: a challenging Sun/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 8:56am EST. We started feeling this aspect build from last Thursday night on; it will be strong until this Wednesday night. We're asked to stretch, to grow beyond what we have known ourselves to be; we are urged out of our comfort zone, towards a higher truth with ourselves and others.

Find creative ways to honor your inner process. Connect to the peace within, even if that means slowing down, even if it means not knowing what might happen next. Would you rather have your old beliefs... or more peace and calm? What if you gave yourself permission to simply “be"? What if you just decided to trust divine timing?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 1-7 degrees of Pisces, Sagittarius, Gemini or Virgo? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Capricorn (the Sun rules Leo; Saturn rules Capricorn)

Monday at 9:57pm EST, we enter a 26-hour Moon void of course (VoC), which ends at 11:54pm EST (Tuesday evening)Use this intuitive time to make adjustments (and find creative solutions) when it comes to your need for comfort and material safety, and your desire to expand your self-expression and take some risks. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new. Routine tasks work very well during this time -- and if at all possible, plan your day ahead of time…

Tuesday: the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus and VoC until 11:54pm EST (see Monday for more details).

Tuesday morning, a harmonious Venus/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 9:58am EST. We started to feel this aspect from last Saturday on; it will be strong until this Thursday. This signals a time when we don't take connections with others lightly; we are more attracted to long-term, committed partnerships than more casual relationships.

We feel a strong sense of responsibility to the ones we love -- we see ourselves as being responsible and trustworthy. We have increased sensitivity to the needs of others. Mutual respect and loyalty is very important to us at this time.

Support from older people or authority figures may come by way of solid advice or more tangible help. We are ready to connect to others in a mature fashion -- we are more likely to treat each other with respect and stand in our integrity. How can you connect to yourself and others through your "inner adult"?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 1-7 degrees of Aries, Sagittarius or Leo? If so, you will be blessed by this aspect more than others. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Capricorn (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn)

Tuesday at 11:54pm EST, the Moon moves into chatty, versatile Gemini, where it will journey until Friday morning. The Gemini Moon keeps us social and busy. Interactions may take place online, on the phone, or face-to-face with those in our immediate environment.

With this Moon placement, we like to multitask and stay engaged with life as much as possible: As long as we don't get bored, we're good. This also starts the build up towards the first Quarter Moon (exact on Wednesday)

Wednesday: the Moon remains in curious, versatile, chatty Gemini all day (see Tuesday late evening for details).

Wednesday at 12:14pm EST, the first Quarter Moon in almost 7 degrees of Geminibecomes exact (we started to feel this aspect from the moment the Moon entered Gemini on Tuesday late evening). The Moon in chatty, versatile Gemini makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in sensitive, compassionate Pisces.

We feel compelled to take action. The New Moon took place last Wednesday (Feb.18th); any seeds that we planted around then are probably sprouting by now -- and facing some challenges .

This aspect provides a time to stretch and grow, thereby creating some forward momentum. We may feel anxious or unusually busy: As best as you can, go one breath at a time. Allow for changes, remain flexible, and find creative solutions for your day-to-day dealings with others.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in any of the following: 5-9 degrees of Gemini, Pisces, Sagittarius or Virgo? If so, you will feel the effects of this first Quarter Moon more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

Wednesday in the later evening, a harmonious Mars/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 10:08pm EST, followed by a Sun/Neptune alignment in 7 degrees of Pisces, exact at 11:55pm EST.

The Mars/Saturn aspect we started to feel from last Saturday on; it will be strong until this Sunday. This aspect brings more self-discipline, maturity, focus, purpose and self-motivation. We tend to be more practical than usual; our progress in most projects may be slow, but it will always be steady -- and thorough.

As you can imagine, this can be a very productive period. We are able to take responsibility for what we believe (and why), we are focused on learning more about life and can bring our newly found perspective to the world, sharing it with enthusiasm and passion.

This is an especially favorable aspect for entrepreneurs, athletes and scholars. It's also favorable for lawyers, publishers and those whose work revolves around travel (or foreign countries and people).

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 1-7 degrees of Aries, Sagittarius or Leo? If so, you will be most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Capricorn (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn).

The Sun/Neptune alignment in Pisces we started to feel from last Sunday on; it will be strong until this Saturday. This alignment asks of us to slow down and allow for all energy to move through us. Being present and compassionate are the higher vibrations of this alignment. We are aware of all things being interconnected more then ever.

Feeling things -- and allowing everyone (ourselves included) to have their feelings -- is highly recommended. When we start to resist the flow of life, the flow of our feelings, we will experience more fear and more suffering. Opening our hearts and letting love flow through us is the perfect remedy to this dilemma ;-) Try it!

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 4-10 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Sagittarius or Gemini? If so, you will feel this alignment quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Pisces (The Sun rules Leo; Neptune is the ruler of Pisces)

Thursday: the Moon remains in curious, versatile, chatty Gemini all day (see Tuesday late evening for details).

Thursday very early morning at 3:43am EST, we enter a 28-hour Moon void of course (VoC) which ends at 7:50am EST (Friday morning).Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to connect with others and bring a new level of optimism to your “game”. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new. If possible, plan your day ahead of time, or stick to routine things.

Friday at 7:50am EST, the Moon moves into protective, introverted Cancer, where it will journey until Sunday evening. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say to (and about) us, so be kind to yourself and others. Emotional safety is important to us at this time: We like connecting to the familiar, home or family becomes our sanctuary.
Nurture yourself and others, but remember: Make sure your glass is filled before letting others drink from it — otherwise we might start resenting others for draining our energies.

Friday evening, a somewhat challenging Jupiter/Pluto aspect becomes exact. We started to feel its effects from last Friday (Feb.20th) on; it is exact tonight at 6:11pm EST and will be strong until next week Saturday (March 7th). This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something and we need to make a choice.  Our overly self-secure mode of interacting may conceal a deep distrust of our own foundations. As best as you can, acknowledge that you may have some profound insecurities.

When we come to see our own weaknesses as not so "profound" or "bad", we acknowledge and open to the values and points of view of others. This lays the foundation under our vast insight and expanse of vision. As best as you can: keep choosing the "better" alternative and adjusting as needed.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 14-16 degrees of  Leo or Capricorn? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Sagittarius or Scorpio (Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius; Pluto rules Scorpio)

Saturday: the Moon remains in protective, introverted Cancer all day (see Friday morning for more details). We start the day with a sense of being in the flow, and of emotional connection to others. Towards midday, we may encounter challenges that require us to make adjustments or find creative solutions. The best approach is probably just to be flexible… and breathe ;-)

Saturday at 12:53pm EST, we enter a 29.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC); which ends Sunday evening at 6:34pm EST. Use this intuitive time to find a balance between your need for emotional safety and your focus on accomplishments and recognition in the world. As best as you can, allow for both and stay as open and as unattached as possible.

Choose love over fear whenever possible. Listen to your feelings and follow your passions. As always with a Moon VoC, plan your day ahead of time, or stick to routine things ;-)

Sunday: the Moon remains in protective, introverted Cancer and VoC until 6:34pm EST (see Friday morning and Saturday early afternoon for more details).

Sunday late morning, an opportune Mercury/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 10:55am EST. We started to feel this aspect from Friday on; it will stay strong until next week Tuesday evening. Given that Mercury was retrograde in Aquarius, this is actually the third and last of such alignments that occurred within a six week period; each provides an opportunity to connect our thinking and communication to a brighter, more collaborative vision for the future.

It also brings an opportunity for insight, novelty and some really unusual conversations. Remember: an opportunity is not automatically given to us; we have to realize it. The Mercury retrograde means we may experience this more internally (a really unusual conversation with ourselves, perhaps ;-)

This aspect also brings an opportunity to view things from a different perspective, or put a new spin on "old" thinking. We like to connect in unusual ways; any group activities or brainstorming with like-minded people could generate amazing insights -- this might be a busy day. As best as you can, or want to... stay open to other dimensions ;-)

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 12-17 degrees of Aquarius, Aries, Sagittarius or Gemini? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Virgo or Aquarius (Mercury is the ruler of Virgo and Gemini; Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius)

Sunday afternoon: a Mercury/Jupiter oppositionbecomes exact at 4:15pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from Friday on and will be strong until Wednesday of next week. It asks us to find a balance between our vision for humanity (and our part in that), versus expanding our personal joy and expressing our unique spark. Put differently, we need to find a balance between what we want to create for ourselves and what the “bigger" issues are in the world.

Could you bring your own unique self-expression to a larger cause? Could you share yourself with those that share your dream for our human future?

We generally feel quite optimistic at this time, perhaps overly so: The urge to grow and expand is strong, but we can overreach -- perhaps by avoiding critical details and thereby miscalculating. We might be inclined to exaggerate, then have a hard time putting our ideas and goals into practice. That said, we can also be extraordinarily funny and interesting at this time, especially at home :-)

Expect a lot of talking and sharing -- and possibly some “over-thinking”. As best as you can, take an "observer" position toward your mind: listen to your thoughts, catch yourself thinking. Toss the thoughts that no longer align with who you truly are. In other words: As best as you can, practice listening, to yourself, to others, and to your body. Listening is an art form that makes it easier to tap into our own inner wisdom and our body's wisdom.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 12-18 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus or Scorpio? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Jupiter of Sagittarius).

Sunday at 6:34pm EST, the Moon moves into fun and attention-loving Leo, where it will journey until Wednesday morning. We have a chance to appreciate ourselves and our lives -- and to connect to the heart. Hand out as many compliments as possible, they will be deeply appreciated :-)

Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones. What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you squeak just thinking about it?

A head's up for next Monday: the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo all day (see Sunday evening for details). The day starts with a focus on exploring our beliefs and questioning our commitments. Throughout the day, we have a lot of opportunities to get things done and move exciting projects forward; lots of great connections and ideas are possible. We are optimistic -- and we certainly have plenty of energy today ;-)

Have a fantastic week!
Many blessings,
Sonja

The Threshold — Astrology Forecast for Mon., Feb. 16th - Sun., Feb. 22nd, 2015

Please note that all times given below are Eastern Standard Time -- to change the listed times to your own timezone, I recommend clicking here for the time and date converter

Last week went pretty smoothly, with the exception of Wednesday, when Mercury stationed -- my car battery died and I had to ask a neighbor for a lift to my next appointment… I probably would have been a lot more upset, had I not known that Mercury came to a halt that day… I just "went with it" and it all turned out ok ;-)

This week's headline items: We have a New Moon in 29 degrees of Aquarius on Wednesday evening -- and the Sun changes signs from Aquarius to Pisces right after the New Moon becomes exact. Mars and Venus also change signs this week -- from Pisces to Aries. There are three Moon VoC phases: Monday afternoon (for 4 hours), Thursday evening (a little over 24 hours), and Saturday evening (almost 24 hours).

Monday: the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn until 7:13pm EST. The Capricorn Moon emphasizes our need for structure and forward planning. We are motivated by a desire for success; achievement and manifestation are paramount.

We are resourceful and pursue economy with time, energy, and other resources. We take things more seriously during Moon in Capricorn: we look reality in the eye. This can be a very productive period. As best as you can, avoid "should-ing" on yourself. Take the pressure off: try saying "I am doing the best I can and that's all I can ever do"  ;-)

Saturn (ruler of Capricorn) is transiting through Sagittarius right now, making this a great time to explore our beliefs. It's also a great time to focus on the greater meaning of life and for going beyond conditioned thinking structures. As best as you can, be authentic about what you believe: Do your beliefs actually match your direct experience of life -- as it is for you now, not how it was 5 or 10 years ago?

Mercury will resume its normal pace through the sky, ending its station today (Monday): Communication and transportation is now back to “normal”, as are any associated gadgets, vehicles, etc. New ideas and information received during the Mercury retrograde phase can now be reviewed -- What could you do with that now?

Remember Mercury’s shadow phase: If you are planning on buying anything to do with travel, transportation or communication devices... If possible, wait until March 3rd ;-)

Monday at 3:17pm EST, we’ll enter a 4-hour Moon void of course (VoC), which ends at 7:13pm ESTUse this intuitive time as an opportunity to do things that help you get connected to your higher Self. It’s also a great time for bringing a sense of flow and faith to your long-term plans. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new.

Monday at 7:13pm EST, the Moon moves into freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, where it will journey until Wednesday evening. The energy of the Aquarian Moon relates to our instinct for improvement. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional; interactions more impersonal than personal. We are likely to have an increased fascination with the new and unusual.
Social gatherings, anything connected with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas and methods, progress: all these are promoted during the time the Moon moves through Aquarius. Again: we have our eyes on the future -- or on outer space :-) Personal freedom becomes paramount.

Tuesday: the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius all day (see Monday evening for details).

Tuesday evening, a somewhat challenging Jupiter/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 8:16pm EST — for the second time within the past 5 months, due to Jupiter’s retrograde phase. This aspect started to make itself known last Wednesday already (Feb.11th); it will be strong until next week Thursday (Feb.26th). This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice… so we need to develop inner awareness.

Positive thinking is not going to heal everything: We are now called to learn more about our inner joy and about connecting from the heart. There is a particular emphasis on our beliefs around self-expression and creating from a confident, heart-centered place. At the same time, we feel the need to find time for compassionate and loving self-connection, healing our emotional and spiritual wounds through an inner awareness of unconditional love and faith.

By remaining flexible and making inner adjustments, we can bring clarity (rather than judgment) to both of those energies, and thereby explore them on a deeper level.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 15-17 degrees of Leo or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Sagittarius (Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius)

As Tuesday is also the last day before the New Moon becomes exact, this is a great day to let go of what no longer serves us. As best as you can, avoid jumping the gun: Rather than launching into brand-new endeavors or connections, wait until a couple of days have passed after the New Moon.

Some of us might feel a little anxious or nervous today: As best as you can, get quiet and go within… Listen to the silence between the sounds… Find peace in the connection with your innermost and truest Self.

Wednesday: the Moon stays in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, until 6:48pm EST (see Monday evening for details). Until the New Moon becomes exact later in the day, get quiet and go within, as best you can… Listen to the silence between sounds… Find peace in the connection with your innermost and truest Self.

Wednesday at 6:47pm EST: Another New Moon in Aquarius becomes exact; this one in 29 degrees, 59 minutes of Aquarius -- right at the threshold of Pisces. We are invited to go from identifying as a "member of the human race”, to oneness with all beings -- indeed, all of creation -- and to recognize many levels of reality and consciousness.

This aspect also invites us to surrender our mind and drop into our hearts. This allows us to see that everything is divine, everything is perfection, no matter how it may appear to our human mind.

The last five New Moons have been in an “exalted” degree of a sign and this one is no exception. Each one opens new pathways and possibilities -- it seems as though we are in a period of significant initiations. What’s more, this New Moon is also the second of six “SuperMoons" that we will experience this year. SuperMoons generate greater gravitational and electromagnetic forces and therefore increased effects on our physical and emotional bodies... This in turn facilitates greater shifts in consciousness.

All of this heightens the Aquarian energy of this New Moon, sending a powerful invitation to open ourselves up to “The New”, especially in the area of life that corresponds to the New Moon’s placement in our birth chart. What’s more, Mercury is no longer retrograde; as it moves through Aquarius it will accentuate this effect even more -- plus, it's easier to make changes we’ve been wanting to get to for the past 4 weeks…

Thinking outside the box is one thing, but this is an invitation to live there too — to make adjustments and find creative solutions as we go — flexibility is called for, as is departing from our “normal” routines. Where are you still holding on to the “old”? If you stepped off the beaten path, is it at least possible that you might find something truer to who you have become?

This New Moon forms in a very potent position: Exactly in the middle between Uranus and Pluto. This combines their energies into a release and resolution point.

The resolution in question is that of the final Uranus/Pluto square (exact on March 16th). It’s all about the shift from a solely intellectual understanding, to a deeper understanding that takes in our interconnectedness and interdependence with all things. This goes beyond “understanding” -- we are also learning to live from that place.

Watch for heightened intuition, imagination and other expanded states of consciousness around the time of the New Moon -- especially right after. If this New Moon had one message it would be: Love is all there is, everything else is an illusion or conditioning. As best as you can, be open to all, even your own conditioning, as it is part of the journey ;-) Feel free to watch my New Moon video -- will be posted by Tuesday the latest ;-)

Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in one of the following placements: 27-29 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, Scorpio, or 0-2 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Gemini or Sagittarius? If so, you may feel the effects of this New Moon more strongly.

Of course, the New Moon also begins a new Lunar Cycle -- the perfect time for planting seeds and setting intentions for the next 28 days. This is best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact -- and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase. So this month, the best (i.e. most potent) time to set intentions would be between 6:48pm EST Wednesday and 6pm EST Thursday.

Within ten minutes after the New Moon becomes exact, the Moon, and then the Sun enter creative, compassionate Pisces. The Moon will journey there until Friday evening. The energy of the Pisces Moon bears on the need for connection to our higher selves. It can be a wistful, sensitive and compassionate time; we are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns.

Boundaries and walls come down; we feel energetically connected to everything around us. As best as you can, therefore, be kind to yourself and others -- surround yourself with loving energy. It's a time best used for spiritual or creative endeavors and for dissolving our fears and doubts. Feelings tend to flow more freely; as best as you can, let them ;-)

The Sun remains in Pisces until March 20th. This brings our awareness to our sense of oneness with everyone and everything around us. We feel like sponges, able to pick up all energy around us; this also makes us more sensitive and emotional. We are more drawn towards expressing ourselves in a creative or spiritual way.

Music or energy healing gives us vitality and can heighten our own personal vibrations.  We need to slow down a little and listen to our intuition more fully -- if we ignore our feelings and the subtle messages we are getting, we will most likely feel more anxious and somewhat frustrated. This could also be connected to the slow pace that our body or our surroundings are demanding of us.

The keyword here is "allowing": as best as you can, be aware of what you are resisting, moment to moment, and create some space -- allow it to be as it is. Notice when you are sensing someone else's feelings rather than your own.

All this is especially true if you are a Leo or Pisces Sun-sign or Rising-sign. As a Pisces, you will feel a good dose of confidence and playfulness in the next four weeks; as a Leo your vitality will depend on allowing things to flow and being gentle with yourself.

Thursday: the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day (see Wednesday evening for details).

The next Solar Eclipse will occur on March 20th, in 29 degrees of Pisces; on Wednesday night/Thursday very early morning EST, Mars moves over this same degree. Wherever 29 degrees of Pisces falls in our birth chart, we can expect something to begin (or be initiated) in the corresponding area of life. Pay attention... It's a preview of the Eclipse ;-)

Thursday morning, an opportune Mercury/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 8:06pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from last Sunday on; it will be strong until this Saturday.Due to Mercury’s retrograde phase, this is actually the third time we have experienced this aspect within the last six weeks. This is another opportunity to take responsibility for our thinking structures and be really honest with ourselves.

How can we get the most from this opportunity? It’s simple: Look for the larger truth. If we can go beyond what we have always known, we could get a helpful dose of reality — and an ability to focus on long-term issues. Since Mercury is retrograde, we may want to go within and check our inner parameters: What are we really trying to accomplish? What is reality showing us?

Remember, though: Opportunities are “openings”; they aren't necessarily handed to us -- we have to "take" them and make something of them.

Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 2-6 degrees of Aquarius, Sagittarius, Aries, Libra, or29 degrees of Capricorn, Scorpio, Pisces or Virgo? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Capricorn (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Saturn rules Capricorn)

Thursday at 6:02pm EST,we enter a 24-hour Moon void of course (VoC), which ends at 6:13pm EST (Friday evening). Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to do things that help you get connected to your higher Self. It’s also a great time for bringing a sense of flow and faith to your long-term plans. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new. Routine tasks work very well during this time -- and if at all possible, plan your day ahead of time…

Thursday at 7:11pm EST, Mars changes signs from sensitive, creative Pisces, to pioneering, enthusiastic Aries. Mars will journey through Aries until March 31st. Mars has an almost two year cycle;Mars last traveled through Aries in March/April 2013. Was there a significant new beginning for you back then?

For those next five and a half weeks, we will have a strong drive for fast forward motion; our first instinct is for action. Spontaneity is an asset, as are simplicity and innovation. We like the fresh start; there will very likely be new ideas, pioneering action and "fresh" projects abounding.

We enjoy challenges with this placement, so we are happy to take on something bigger than usual -- maybe a new, more demanding job or relationship. Our physical energy is great, but we may lose our initial enthusiasm quickly. We are not likely to beat around the bush now; a direct approach is definitely favored.

Things to watch out for: impatience; getting irritated by other people's indirectness; being insensitive to other people's needs or approaches.

Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries? If so, you will feel quite energized by this placement. Your physical energy will be tremendous, you are going to feel unstoppable. The only thing to watch out for: physical burnout.

Friday: the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces and VoC until 6:13pm EST (see Wednesday evening for details).

Friday at 3:05pm EST, Venus follows Mars from Pisces into Aries, where she will journey until March 17th. For the next three and a half weeks, we are going to feel passionate about connecting to others. We are ready to make a new start: if you are single this is your chance to start something new. If you are already in a committed relationship, you get a wonderful chance to bring freshness, fun and excitement to your bedroom and "other parts of the house" ;-)

With Venus in Aries, spontaneity and independence are important to us. We like a challenge, so don't make it too easy for others to win you over ;-) We also have more energy than usual; we are more likely to want to get out of the house and be active with others.

All this is especially true if you are a Taurus, Libra or Aries Sun-sign or Rising-sign. As an Aries, beauty and love will enter your life in the next three and a half weeks, you will feel more attractive and you will attract things to you. As a Taurus or Libra, you will feel more energized, passionate and direct than usual.

Friday at 6:13pm EST, the Moon also enters pioneering, fast-paced Aries, where it will journey until Sunday evening. The energy of the Aries Moon bears on starting something new. Our gut impulses are strong; we feel energetic, spontaneous, enthusiastic and brave -- and perhaps impatient and impulsive. Excess energy is best channeled into physical activity.

Saturday: the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries all day (see Friday evening for more details).

Today (Saturday) might be quite an electric, energetic (nervous) day for us. We may need to make some adjustments and think outside the box: Flexibility and adaptability is key today! Luckily, we'll have lots of energy all day, right up until the evening.

Saturday at 7:36pm EST, we enter an almost 24-hour Moon void of course (VoC), which ends at 7:28pm EST (Sunday evening). Use this intuitive time to have some fun, socialize and be true to yourself. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new. Routine tasks work very well during this time -- and if at all possible, plan your day ahead of time…

Sunday: the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries and VoC until 7:28pm EST (see Friday evening for more details).

Saturday night/Sunday very early morning (right around Midnight), a Venus/Mars alignment in Aries becomes exact. We started feeling it back on Feb. 13th — when Venus and Mars were still moving through Pisces -- and it will stay strong until Feb. 28th.

There are feminine energies (receiving/allowing/enjoying) and masculine energies (active/doing/asserting) within and around us. This Venus/Mars connection brings a new beginning between these energies: a marriage of courage and independence -- a new beginning of a courageous feminine energy being protected and reinforced by the masculine.

The last time we experienced this alignment was in April 2013: Was there a new beginning back then, in regards to your feminine and masculine energies? What has shifted for you since then? What is the inner feminine/Goddess saying to you now?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 0-4 degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer, Capricorn, or 21-29 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Gemini or Sagittarius? If so, you will be more affected by this alignment. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Aries (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Mars is the ruler of Aries)

Sunday at 7:28pm EST, the Moon moves into steady, peaceful Taurus, where it will journey until Tuesday night.

A head's up for next Monday: the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all day (see Sunday evening for more details).

If you set intentions on Wednesday or Thursday, right after the New Moon became exact, Monday will be a great time to take relevant actions. If you wrote your intentions down, go back and take another look at what came through intuitively. If you didn’t write anything down, get quiet for a moment and check in with yourself: What actions are calling to you?

Monday morning: A challenging Sun/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 8:56am EST. We started feeling this aspect build from Thursday night on; it will be strong until next week Wednesday night.

At 9:57pm EST,we enter a 26-hour Moon void of course (VoC), …more about that next week.

Have a good one!
Many blessings,
Sonja

Last week was focused on healing and getting better. Mission accomplished ;-) My eye is doing much better and my energy seems to be back to normal. The Leo Full Moon helped make things less painful and more optimistic -- and Mars separating from Chiron certainly helped too.

This week's headline items: We have two events on Wednesday: Mercury comes to a halt again and the last Quarter Moon in Scorpio becomes exact. On Sunday, starts the Balsamic Moon phase, and we have three Moon VoC phases: Monday morning (for 19 hours), Wednesday night/Thursday very early morning (11 hours), and Saturday late morning (7 hours).

Monday very early in the morninga Venus/Chiron alignment in 15.5 degrees of Pisces becomes exact at 12:02am EST. We started to feel this connection from last Friday evening on; it will be strong until this Wednesday. This alignment reminds us of wounds around relationships or our sense of self-worth. Social situations might feel awkward.

We may experience emotional triggers, so as best as you can, bring compassion and understanding to yourself, to others, and to those past experiences that wounded you. We need to learn to love ourselves, and heal deep fears of being "not good enough". Healing happens much faster when we are open to forgiving ourselves and others.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 12-19 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Gemini or Sagittarius? If so, you will feel this alignment quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra)

Monday: the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra all day. It will journey there until Tuesday very early morning. The energy of the Libra Moon wants to maintain equal relationships: we thus tend to spend more time on diplomacy -- making compromises, negotiating, practicing graciousness, balancing, etc.

We can better set aside our emotions, to achieve the peace we desire; the shadow side of this is a tendency to avoid direct confrontations. We see both sides -- and may also fear loss of approval -- so we can't decide. As best as you can, find your inner balance with this... and communicate what needs to be said with grace and charm.

Monday at 6:58am EST, we enter a 19-hour Moon void of course (VoC), which ends at 2:05am EST (Tuesday very early morning). During this intuitive time, bring a collaborative spirit and charm to connections with like-minded souls; as always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new. Routine tasks work very well during this time -- and if at all possible, plan your day ahead of time…

Tuesday at 2:05am EST, the Moon moves into passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will journey until Thursday late morning. We feel emotions on a deeply personal level. We are motivated by the desire to get to the bottom of things -- superficiality won't work for us now -- and we instinctively read between the lines.

The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power; it's an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. This tends to be an emotionally colored, all-or-nothing, black or white experience -- it can therefore be an intimate, passionate time. As best as you can, avoid manipulation, brooding and suspicion; instead, open to the wealth of your innermost feelings -- decide to go deeper, allowing all feelings to surface, if they need to.

Embrace all of who you are. Know thyself, love thyself and you shall be set free. Remember: a deep love of all that we are will connect us to the Power within; Fear causes "Force" to show up -- and is ultimately what disempowers ourselves and others. This Moon placement starts the build up towards the last Quarter Moon, exact Wednesday late evening…more on that later…

Tuesday morninga somewhat challenging Venus/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 5:19am EST. We started to feel this aspect from last Sunday on; it will be strong until Thursday eveningThis aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed in order to see what needs adjusting.

This aspect is a fork in the road: One path leads within, where we learn to trust that our intuition will connect us to others and ourselves soulfully. The other sees us increasing our expression of our inner child, our unique spark, and thus taking some risks. Awareness is key with this aspect: What is needed? How can we serve the broader view?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 16-18 degrees of Pisces or Leo? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Sagittarius (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).

One last thing for Tuesday, as you go through the day, do your best to bear in mind that Mercury will come to a halt tomorrow afternoon (Wednesday); this may bring some frustrations and stagnations for the next three days around things connected to the Mercury energy (travel, transportation, communication and its devices, mail, etc.)

Wednesday: the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day (see Tuesday early morning for details).

As already mentioned on Tuesday, Mercury comes to a halt in 1 degrees of Aquarius today (Wednesday) at 9:57am EST, andslowly starts its direct motionafter its 3-week retrograde phase. As best as you can, go with the flow, keep an open mind and pay attention to anything that is in your face right now -- you may need to address those issues again, when Mercury moves through its shadow phase…more on that later.

We are slowly ready to shift our focus back towards the outer world again, taking in new information and sharing from a new perspective. What did you learn about your inner dialog over the past 3 weeks? How can you share your newly found inner vision in a healthy way with the world? What needs to be addressed, with regards to the future, collaborations and communications?

When Mercury gets back to its regular speed (by Feb.16th), communication and transportation will get back to normal; the same is true of any associated gadgets, vehicles, etc.

Some of us will feel the effects of this station more than others: those of us with Gemini or Virgo as our Sun- or Rising-Sign (Ascendant) -- and those of us with personal planets (or angles) in 0-2 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, or Scorpio

As you may recall, I mentioned Mercury shadow phases in this update a few weeks back: If you want to buy, sell or ship big-ticket items, it's best to avoid the periods shortly before and after Mercury goes retrograde. This is especially true if the items are connected to transportation (cars, plane tickets, etc.) or communication (phone, computer, iPad, etc.) This particular shadow phase ends on March 3rdClick here to read my blog on the subject.

Wednesday at 10:50pm EST, the last Quarter Moon in Scorpio will be exact. We started to feel this aspect from the moment the Moon entered Scorpio on Tuesday very early morning. The Moon in deep-feeling Scorpio is making a challenging aspect to the Sun in emotionally detached Aquarius. This may bring up some challenges. However, it also energizes us to look at what needs to be completed -- and what needs to be changed. This Moon phase brings us closer to the next New Moon (Feb. 18th).

With the last Quarter Moon, rather than starting major new projects, it serves us take a look at what was started around the time of the last New Moon -- in this case, around Jan. 20th. We now have about a week to wrap those projects up. What -- if anything -- needs last-minute adjustments? What did you discover since Jan. 20th? What did it mean for you? As best as you can, find creative solutions for anything that comes up, whether internally or with others.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 21-25 degrees of Aquarius, Scorpio, Leo or Taurus? If so, you are more affected by this month's last Quarter Moon. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer, since the Sun rules Leo and the Moon rules Cancer.

Thursday: The Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio until 11:46am EST (see Tuesday early morning for details).

Wednesday night/Thursday very early morning at 12:32am EST, we enter an 11-hour Moon void of course (VoC), which ends at 11:46am EST. Use this intuitive time to allow for feelings to surface. This is also a good time for connecting to loved ones and for helping others with releasing any blockages or fears through spiritual endeavors or energy healing. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new.

Thursday at 11:46am EST, the Moon moves into optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius, where it will journey until Saturday late afternoon. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. The Sagittarius Moon persuades us to come from intuition and think in a broader manner.

We seek meaning and ideas that expand upon the "here and now"; we pursue truth and a new vision -- the big picture, rather than the details. Spontaneity is key, we'd rather improvise than plan; this may tip into just "winging it". We could also overdo or overstate.

Friday: the Moon remains in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius all day (see Thursday late morning for details).

For most of the day, we have lots of energy; we feel optimistic, energized and excited. However, we do need to pay attention to our feelings and sensing faculties, as we are likely more sensitive than we realize. Give yourself a moment in the afternoon, to just close your eyes and get in touch with the vastness of your feelings/energy, and your interconnectedness to all living things. Allow yourself to get really present to that without judgment.

Saturday: the Moon remains in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius until 5:24pm EST (see Thursday late morning for details).

The Moon is void of course most of Valentine’s Day (10:15am — 5:25pm EST), so plan your day ahead of time, if you can. If that’s not possible... Go with the flow ;-) Use this intuitive time to make adjustments (and find creative solutions) when it comes to balancing your need for adventure with your desire for romance and unity; if you start to feel impatient, just remember that there is a divine timing in all things.

Saturday at 5:25pm EST, the Moon moves into practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricornwhere it will journey until Monday evening.

Sundaythe Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn all day (see Saturday early evening for details).

The second half of Sunday we have a strong focus on accomplishing things and getting down to business. As best as you can, refrain from getting too obsessed with anything... Take some breaks ;-) We’ll need to adjust and innovate when working with others.

Sunday late afternoon, we enter the Balsamic Moon phase: this lasts until Wednesday evening of next week, when the New Moon in Aquarius becomes exact for the second time in 4 weeks (…more on that next week). We are being asked to slow down and get quiet, so we can listen to our intuition. For some of us, this might be a stretch. As best as you can: stay grounded, take a deep breath and exhale any tensions.

Rather than starting something brand-new, put all that energy into completing existing projects. This is also a great time for letting go of whatever no longer serves us. What if you could hear the voice of your inner wisdom? What might it be saying?

A head's up for next Monday: the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn until 7:13pm EST (see Saturday early evening for details). Mercury will resume its normal pace through the sky, ending its station: Communication and transportation is now back to “normal”, as are any associated gadgets, vehicles, etc. New ideas and information received during the Mercury retrograde phase can now be reviewed -- What could you do with that now?

Remember Mercury’s shadow phase: If you are planning on buying anything to do with travel, transportation or communication devices... If possible, wait until March 3rd ;-)

At 3:17pm EST, we’ll enter a 4-hour Moon void of course (VoC), which ends at 7:13pm ESTUse this intuitive time as an opportunity to do things that help you get connected to your higher Self. It’s also a great time for bringing a sense of flow and faith to your long-term plans. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new.

Have a fantastic week!
Many blessings,
Sonja
