A Passionate Combination -- Astrology Forecast for Mon., Aug. 31st - Sun., Sept. 6th, 2015

Please note that all times given below are Eastern Daylight Saving Time -- to change the listed times to your own timezone, I recommend clicking here for the time and date converter

Last week was sobering.... I got more clarity about my current state of health. A lot of sadness came up, at the same time, I was also able to clear some fear and anger connected to my family of origin and past conditioning. Towards the end of the week I felt much more empowered and was able to take action on things that I had pushed away for quite a while.

This week's headline items: the Venus station intensifies on Wednesday; the Solar Eclipse is coming closer (10-day alert on Thursday); the last Quarter Moon in Gemini becomes exact on Saturday morning; Venus comes to a halt on Sunday morning.

There will also be four Moon VoC phases this week: Monday very early morning (for 1.5 hours), Tuesday early afternoon (for 16.5 hours), Friday morning (for 1.5 hours), and Saturday evening (for 18.5 hours).

Monday at 2:53am EDT, we enter a 1.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC) phase that lasts until 4:33am EDT. If you are already awake, use this intuitive time to bring moderation to your emotional or spiritual connections with others. See if you can go deeper — and bring compassion to the inner exploration of yourself. Take it easy and, as always during VoC: Go with the flow (and avoid starting anything brand-new).

Monday at 4:33am EDT, the Moon moves into pioneering, fast-paced Aries, where it will journey until Wednesday morning. The energy of the Aries Moon bears on starting something new. Our gut impulses are strong; we feel energetic, spontaneous, enthusiastic and brave -- and perhaps impatient and impulsive. Excess energy is best channeled into physical activity.

Monday late evening, a Sun/Neptune opposition becomes exact at 11:38pm EDT. We started to feel this opposition from last Friday on; it will be strong until this Thursday. Having a balance between logic and intuition -- between what we know and what we feel -- is essential at this time. We need to gain clarity over our dreams and come to understand that we can only improve our current situation through forgiveness and love.

The mind will play an important role during this time: Provided they make sense to you, choices that connect you to your heart will help you succeed. It's also important to give up being "right" and thereby allow flow. As best as you can, trust your intuition ;-)

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 5-11 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini or SagittariusIf so, you will feel this opposition quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Pisces (the Sun rules Leo; Neptune rules Pisces).

Tuesday: the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries all day (see Monday morning for details)

Tuesday very early morning, a Venus/Mars alignment in 15 degrees of Leo becomes exact at 1:04am EDT. We started feeling this alignment from last Friday on and it will stay strong until this Friday. This is a very passionate combination: action and receptivity, assertiveness and allowing. As Venus is also stationing at this time, her energies are more exalted.

There are feminine energies (receiving/allowing/enjoying) and masculine energies (active/doing/asserting) within and around us. This Venus/Mars connection brings a new beginning between these energies: a marriage of courage and joy -- a new beginning of a courageous feminine energy being protected and reinforced by the masculine.

This transit generates a passionate, warm, expressive, lively, and sexy energy. We are now able to take the initiative to achieve harmony and sexual fulfillment. Our creativity and desire to make something beautiful is stimulated now. We are more able to combine warmth with energy. We may also feel compelled to do something creative or artistic.

In general, we now have a chance to express our needs, passions, and desires in effective ways. Venus is diplomatic, gentle, romantic, and sensitive, while Mars is more forceful, sexual, and assertive. Venus can act to soften Mars' aggressiveness, or Mars can make Venus' romantic impulses more forceful and pressing.

The last time we experienced this alignment was in June 1991. Was there a new beginning back then, in regards to your feminine and masculine energies? What has shifted for you since then? What is the inner feminine/Goddess saying to you now?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 12-18 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus or Scorpio? If so, you will be more affected by this alignment. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Aries (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Mars is the ruler of Aries)

Tuesday at 12:37pm EDT, we enter a 16.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC) that last until 5:02am EDT (Wednesday morning)Use this intuitive time to get in touch with your own unique spark and ideas for your own personal goals. If at all possible though, refrain from actually starting anything brand-new — in fact, plan your day ahead of time, or stick to routine things. If you can't… simply go with the flow.

Wednesday: the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries until 5:02am EDT (see Monday morning for details). At that time the Moon movesinto steady, peaceful Taurus, where it will be until Friday morning. With the Moon in Taurus, we are motivated by the desire for serenity, security, peace and comfort. The Moon is at her most sensual and constant in Taurus.

Our basic impulse is to relax, resist change, get comfortable: life… slows… down. We may also be stubborn and materialistic under this influence. As best as you can, stop and smell the roses during this time -- enjoy life and its offerings ;-)

The Venus station intensifies today (Wednesday). The station brings all relationship, self-worth and financial issues to the forefront. This stationing period lasts until Sept. 17th, bringing into focus what we do and don’t have; until then, we are more aware of our relationships or the lack thereof.

This forces us to look at who we value (including ourselves), and at what is truly important to us, when it comes to our inner joy and bliss. It’s important to pay attention now, because when Venus goes direct again, we’ll get a chance to address and resolve all these issues. Venus is coming to a halt (and moving direct) in 4 days; more on thaton Sunday...

Is your Sun sign or Ascendant in Taurus or Libra? Or do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 13-17 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus or Scorpio? If so, you will feel a stronger connection to this Venus station.

Thursday: the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all day (see Wednesday morning for details).

I would like to mention the upcoming Solar and Lunar Eclipses. Eclipses are consciousness upgrades. For 7 - 10 days before and after an Eclipse, we are usually in uncharted territory: anything is possible and it's wise to expect the unexpected. The upcoming Solar Eclipse will be exact on Sept. 13th (feel free to watch my video on the subject — will be posted by Sunday evening).

Anything brand-new (and I really mean brand, brand-new) started during this time will likely not pan out the way we thought it would, often because important information comes to light only after Eclipse season is over. If possible, try to defer any major brand-new projects until after Oct.12th, when this Eclipse season is over. If something is beginning or ending in a way that seems organic… allow it to be.

Another Eclipse-related phenomenon: not only do Eclipses bring up uncertainty in us, they might also leave us nervous, anxious, unsettled and disoriented. As best as you can, observe your feelings and stay grounded in the "here and now". If you feel rushed into something, take a deep breath and connect to your heart, intuition and inner wisdom: They will carry you through.

Just like upgrading a computer, you will get all the information you need, as soon as the upgrade is complete -- so as best you can, be patient.  This does not mean that we need to drop everything; it just means it's wise to check in with your higher Self -- do this whichever way feels right to you ;-) Remember: this energetic upgrade will be complete by Oct. 12th!

Thursday late evening, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 11:02pm EDT. This could contribute either to some mental confusion and spaciness, or the need to communicate with others from our imagination (but possibly not knowing how to achieve that). We started to feel this aspect from Wednesday on; it will be strong until Friday evening.

This aspect operates more on an internal level: We feel uneasy about something, sort of "awkward" -- and we need to make a choice. Sometimes, imagination and mind can run way ahead of what is actually feasible (and sensible). At these times, the grand vision is best served by focusing on the next concrete step, accepting our own idiosyncrasies as we go.

Honesty is crucial here, especially self-honesty; inner awareness is in turn crucial to deep honesty and authenticity. What's true for you? What might be possible for humanity? Where do those overlap?

Note that I say "overlap": Don't look for an exact fit, this is more like two puzzle pieces that came from different jigsaw puzzles. You might keep looking at the imperfect fit and feel a nagging sense that something doesn't make sense… but it doesn't -- it can't. The pieces are not from the same game. Just do your best to "hang out" with the discomfort, rather than repeatedly trying to figure it out and fix it.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 7-9 degrees of Libra or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Pisces (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Neptune rules Pisces)

Friday: the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus until 7:48am EDT (see Wednesday morning for details).

Friday at 6:20am EDT, we enter a 1.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC) that last until 7:48pm EDT. Use this intuitive time to find a balance between your need for material safety and physical "wants”, versus your deep emotional commitments to others — as best as you can, allow for both. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow ;-)

Friday at 7:48am EDT, the Moon moves into chatty, versatile Gemini, where it will journey until Sunday afternoon. The Gemini Moon keeps us social and busy. Interactions may take place online, on the phone, or face-to-face with those in our immediate environment.

With this Moon placement, we like to multitask and stay engaged with life as much as possible: As long as we don't get bored, we're good. This Moon placement also starts the built-up towards the last Quarter Moon, exact on Saturday morning. More on that tomorrow…

Saturday: the Moon remains in curious, versatile, chatty Gemini all day (see Friday morning for details).

Saturday at 5:54am EDT, the last Quarter Moonin 12 degrees of Gemini will become exact. We started to feel this aspect build from the moment the Moon entered Gemini: from Friday morning onThe Moon in curious, chatty Gemini makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in practical, detail- and service-oriented Virgo. This may bring challenges; however, it also energizes us to face what demands completion or change. This Moon phase brings us closer to Sept. 13th New Moon (which is also a Solar Eclipse)

During the last Quarter Moon, we are better served by reviewing those projects we began around the last New Moon -- in this case, that would be August 14th -- as opposed to launching new ones. Out of those projects, what needs last-minute adjustments? What did you discover since then? What did it mean for you? As best as you can, find creative solutions for anything that comes up (whether internally, or with others).

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 10-14 degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces? If so, you will feel this month's last Quarter Moon quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer, since the Sun rules Leo and the Moon rules Cancer.

Saturday at 7:04pm EDT, we enter a 18.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC) that last until 1:40pm EDT (Sunday afternoon). Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to make connections to like-minded people that might support your projects and sentiments. If at all possible, refrain from actually starting anything brand-new though — in fact, plan your evening ahead of time or stick to routine things. If nothing else… simply go with the flow.

Saturday evening, a harmonious Sun/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 7:10pm EDT. We started to feel this connection from Wednesday on; it will be strong until next week Tuesday. This aspect brings a sense of focus and empowerment to our long-term goals. We have the ability to look at everything in a very down-to-earth manner right now; through our understanding of "what is and what is not", we can make more powerful choices.

We can also deepen our understanding of our own motivations and look closely at where we are heading. This aspect also brings an intensity and a depth to our conscious awareness; therefore this is also a great time to transform our lives, stripping away anything -- even people -- that no longer connect with who we are.

Ask yourself: How can I live more authentically? Is there anything holding me back? What could I release now that is no longer serving my evolution? Would I be willing to let that go?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 10-16 degrees of Virgo, Capricorn or Taurus? If so, you will be even more blessed by this aspect than those who do not; this is also true for those of us with our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Scorpio (the Sun being the ruler of Leo; Pluto rules Scorpio)

Sunday: the Moon remains in curious, versatile, chatty Gemini until 1:40pm EDT (see Friday morning for details).

Sunday at 4:29am EDT, Venus comes to a halt at 14 degrees of Leo — turning direct after having been retrograde since July 25th. Whether by Sun-sign or Ascendent, Taurus and Libra people will feel a sense of relief as Venus starts speeding up again, helping us integrate the realizations of the past six weeks. This will lead to a greater sense of alignment between our inner values and our joyful/authentic expression around relationships and finance.

Venus will be moving at a slower speed until Oct. 8th; between now and then, we have a chance to go over all that we have learned internally in the past 6 weeks and apply it to our external reality.

Sunday at 1:40pm EDT, the Moon moves into protective, introverted Cancer, where it will journey until Tuesday evening. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say to (and about) us, so be kind to yourself and others. Emotional safety is important to us at this time: We like connecting to the familiar, home or family becomes our sanctuary.

Nurture yourself and others, but remember: Make sure your glass is filled before letting others drink from it — otherwise we might start resenting others for draining our energies.

A head's up for next Monday: the Moon remains in protective, introverted Cancer all day (see Sunday afternoon for more details). Pluto will start to slow down today -- it is getting ready to come to a halt on Sept. 25th, after its 5-month retrograde phase. This makes its energy more exalted in the sky for the next 4 weeks... more about that in next week’s forecast ;-)

Have a fantastic week!
Many blessings,
Sonja

The Start of a New You -- Astrology Forecast for Mon., Aug. 24th - Sun., Aug. 30th, 2015

Please note that all times given below are Eastern Daylight Saving Time -- to change the listed times to your own timezone, I recommend clicking here for the time and date converter

The first half of last week had a wonderful balance of work, play and relaxation... But when Mercury went over the Eclipse degree on Thursday morning, everything went haywire -- I discovered my website and email were offline (and possibly not retrievable for 5 to 7 business days!!!) Thank goodness, we got my website and one of my emails back up; you can now email me again at: sonja@astrologercoach.com Thanks! ;-)

This week's headline items: Venus starts its station on Tuesday, prior to going direct again on Sept. 6th; Mercury changes signs from Virgo to Libra on Thursday, late in the morning -- and the Full Moon in Pisces becomes exact on Saturday afternoon.

There will also be three Moon VoC phases this week: Monday evening (for 6.5 hours), Thursday early morning (for 43 minutes), and Saturday early morning (for almost 2 hours).

Monday: the Moon remains in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius all day. It will journey there until Monday night/Tuesday very early morning. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. The Sagittarius Moon persuades us to come from intuition and think in a broader manner.

We seek meaning and ideas that expand upon the "here and now"; we pursue truth and a new vision -- meaning the big picture, rather than the details. Spontaneity is the key: we'd rather improvise than plan; this may tip into just "winging it". We could also overdo or overstate.

Monday at 6:04pm EDT, we enter a 6.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC) that last until 12:22am EDT (Monday night/Tuesday very early morning). Use this intuitive time to make some adjustments and (as best as you can) and find creative solutions to seemingly unsolvable situations. Make space for communicating the specifics and also for being able to see the bigger picture.

If at all possible though, refrain from actually starting anything brand-new — in fact, plan your evening ahead of time, or stick to routine things. If you can't… simply go with the flow.

Tuesday at 12:22am EDT, the Moon moves into practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn, where it will journey until Thursday early morning. The Capricorn Moon emphasizes our need for structure and forward planning. We are motivated by a desire for success; achievement and manifestation are paramount.

We are resourceful and pursue economy with time, energy, and other resources. We take things more seriously during Moon in Capricorn: we look reality in the eye. This can be a very productive period. As best as you can, avoid "should-ing" on yourself. Take the pressure off: try saying "I am doing the best I can and that's all I can ever do" ;-)

Tuesday starts off with a lovely flow and support toward accomplishing our goals. In the afternoon, we have an opportunity to connect our long-term goals to projects that are in alignment with our higher Selves. Remember: an opportunity is not automatically given to us, we have to "take" it.

Towards the later afternoon/evening, we might need to make some inner adjustments -- flexibility and open-mindedness is important here. As best as you can, allow yourself to make time for matters of the heart, even though you may have some deadlines or obligations.

Also on Tuesday: Venus starts her station again --the planet’s movement through the sky appears from Earth to be slowing down; it’s actually getting ready to come to a halt (and moving direct) on Sept. 6th. The station brings all relationship, self-worth and financial issues to the forefront.

This stationing period lasts until Sept. 17th, bringing into focus what we do and don’t have; until then, we are more aware of our relationships or the lack thereof. This forces us to look at who we value (including ourselves) and at what is truly important to us long-term. It’s important to pay attention now, because when Venus goes direct again, we’ll get a chance to address and resolve all these issues.

Is your Sun sign or Ascendant in Taurus or Libra? Or do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 13-17 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus or Scorpio? If so, you will feel a stronger connection to this Venus station.

Wednesday: the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn all day (see Tuesday very early morning for details).

Wednesday around noon, an opportune Mercury/Saturn aspectbecomes exact at 12:07pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Monday on; it will be strong until Saturday. This is an opportunity to take responsibility for our thinking structures and be really honest with ourselves. How can we get the most from this opportunity?

It’s simple: Go deeper within. This is a great time to commit to understanding our conditioning and thinking processes. If we take this chance to see things more clearly, and connect to ourselves more deeply, we could get a good dose of reality — and an ability to focus on long-term issues. Remember: opportunities are openings; they aren't necessarily handed to us -- we have to "take" them and make something of them.

Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 26-29 degrees of Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn,Cancer or 0-2 degrees of Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius or Leo? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Capricorn (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Saturn rules Capricorn)

Wednesday evening, a Sun/Jupiter alignment in 3 degrees of Virgo becomes exact at 6:02pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last Sunday on; it will be strong until this Saturday. This is an excellent time to start any new long-term projects, especially those connected to the Virgo energy -- anything involving detail-oriented work, organizational work, health, nutrition, or daily routines (such as exercise, food, work schedule, etc.) You may well feel more vital, confident, and optimistic when it comes to those projects.

This is a good time to resolve conflicts, especially with our co-workers (or employees). Events may give our ego a boost, and we could be feeling quite perky and "alive". Take advantage of this by promoting yourself or putting yourself "out there". Consider whether you want to begin a new long-term project; if you do, try to launch it at the time of the transit (assuming all other things are equal).

Ego gratification is the theme of this transit. This is the start of a "new you" with more confidence and faith. We have a chance to create a world of adventure and personal growth. We are optimistic, and that helps us attract positive circumstances.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 0-6 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini or Sagittarius? If so, you will feel this alignment quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Sagittarius (the Sun rules Leo; Jupiter rules Sagittarius).

Thursday at 3:20am EDT, we enter a 43-minute Moon void of course (VoC) phase that lasts until 4:03am EDT. If you are already awake, use this intuitive time to take practical steps forward on existing projects. If at all possible though, refrain from actually starting anything brand-new.

Thursday at 4:03am EDT, the Moon moves into freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, where it will journey until Saturday early morning. The energy of the Aquarian Moon relates to our instinct for improvement. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional; interactions more impersonal than personal. We are likely to have an increased fascination with the new and unusual.

Social gatherings, anything connected with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas and methods, progress: all these are promoted during the time the Moon moves through Aquarius. Again: we have our eyes on the future -- or on outer space :-) Personal freedom becomes paramount.

Thursday at 11:44am EDT, Mercury changes signs from practical Virgo to harmony-seeking Libra, where it will journey until Nov. 2nd -- an unusually long time, due to the Mercury retrograde that will take place between Sept. 17th and Oct. 9th.Mercury in Libra changes the way we communicate and think. We are more likely now to see things from multiple points of view and to think in abstractions, this helps us be objective.

We have a strong sense of justice and look for ways to make compromises. We speak and act diplomatically; this comes from our desire for harmony, peace, diplomacy, win/win outcomes. We feel better when we are not pressured into making quick decisions. Very probably, the two things we will most avoid at this time are confrontations and emotional intensity.

Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo? If so, you will feel a greater need for justice and fairness. Do you have your Ascendent or Sun-sign in Libra? If so, you will most likely feel more chatty for the next 9.5 weeks.

Friday: the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius all day (see Thursday early morning for details).

Mercury enters a 2-week shadow phase today (Friday), as it reaches almost 1 degree of Libra. This precedes the retrograde phase, which will begin on Sept. 17th. If you want to buy, sell or ship big-ticket items -- especially connected to transportation (cars, airline tickets, etc.) or communication devices (phone, computer, iPad, etc.) -- be aware of the shadow periods as well as the retrograde phases.

If possible, get these things done before Mercury enters it's shadow or wait until after the shadow phases are over (in this case: Oct.24th). Of course, if there is something that must get done during these phases, don't put your whole life on hold, just because Mercury is retrograde or in it's shadow. Sometimes things line up exactly at the “right” time. As best as you can, trust your intuition ;-)

Saturday at 3:03am EDT, we enter an almost 2-hour Moon void of course (VoC) phase that lasts until 4:51am EDT. If you are already awake, use this intuitive time to make some adjustments in your life. As best as you can, find creative solutions to seemingly unsolvable situations.

Make space both for your need to make improvements and move towards your vision for life, and for focusing on deeper emotional issues and making responsible choices that include intimate partners or financial partners. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new.

Saturday at 4:51am EDT, the Moon moves into creative, sensitive Pisces, where it will journey until Monday morning. The energy of the Pisces Moon bears on the need for connection to our higher selves. It can be a wistful, sensitive and compassionate time; we are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns. Boundaries and walls come down; we feel energetically connected to everything around us.

As best as you can, therefore, be kind to yourself and others -- surround yourself with loving energy. It's a time best used for spiritual or creative endeavors and for dissolving our fears and doubts. Feelings tend to flow more freely; as best as you can, let them ;-) This move into Pisces also begins the build-up to the Full Moon...

Saturday at 2:35pm EDT, the Full Moon in 6 degrees of Pisces becomes exact. The Moon in creative, free-flowing Pisces is making an opposition to the Sun in detail-oriented, practical Virgo. So once again, for the next two weeks, we are looking for balance: We are more aware than everthat something needs to be brought into alignment.

In this case, the balance is between logic and intuition -- Virgo's detailed, analytical understanding, versus the call from Pisces to open our heart and allow for paradoxical truths to co-exist -- we realize that there is no separation, everything is interconnected: in short, we need a balance between left- and right-brain.

The mind acts like a filtering mechanism that helps us to focus and function more efficiently — but it can also greatly narrow our view and understanding of the world. Ask yourself: What am I seeking to change/improve with my mind’s help? What do I accept or receive through the openness of my heart? What might come through if my heart and mind were working together?

Spiritual practices (such as meditation, breathing exercises, mindful exercise, etc.) can open the doors of our perception. The same is true of spiritual/energetic healing modalities like Reiki, "access consciousness bars", shiatsu, acupuncture, etc. Creative flow through dance, singing, playing, etc., can also connect us to “the all”, as can positive emotions such as love, gratitude and compassion.

This is quite a powerful Full Moon. Firstly, it’s the first of three consecutive “SuperMoons”; secondly, we are entering Eclipse season (the Solar Eclipse in Virgo is exact on Sept. 13th). Our physical and emotional bodies strongly feel the intensity of it all -- these events ultimately support a shift in consciousness, bringing us closer to our Soul's path.

The Sun aligns with Jupiter in Virgo; this has us taking a closer look at our belief systems or ideologies. We are more aware of where our daily lives need improvement and where we need to take actions.

The Moon also aligns with Neptune in Pisces. This reminds us of the interconnectedness of body and mind, heart and soul. We are also more aware of our connection to all the energies around us, via an emotional connection to all living things that heightens our sensitivities; this makes it crucial to surround ourselves with caring, loving energies.

This Full Moon also highlights the importance of developing, expressing and trusting our feminine energies -- connecting to our feeling side, following our intuition. We need to allow for the flow of things… Just like the tides, just like our breath, we need to allow for feelings/thoughts/sensations to move in, and move out again.

Venus aligns with Mars at the time of the Full Moon, bringing a desire for artistic self-expression, romance and adventure. Wanting admiration, love, passion (and fun) in our relationships is not going to be that rewarding, unless we are already able to love ourselves from the inside out. We need to ask ourselves: Where is joy and fulfillment really to be found?

Mars is making a somewhat challenging aspect to Pluto. We are invited to make some inner adjustments: How can we align our personal desires with what is expected of us publicly? How can we enjoy ourselves now, without taking anything away from what we want to build, long-term? What assumptions are holding us back?

This Full Moon invites us to tap into our hearts first, so that our mind can be of service to something much vaster and more beautiful than what we were taught is possible. What if the greatest lesson of the heart was an oceanic limitlessness? Or liberation like a breeze of wind on a summer day? The ability to trust our heart-intuition is the most powerful "weapon" we have in the 21st century. I’ll be posting a video on this subject on Wednesday evening, click here to watch.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 4-8 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Gemini or Sagittarius? If so, you are more affected by this month's Full Moon. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

Sunday: the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day (see Saturday morning for details).

Today (Sunday) starts with an opportunity to dissolve "old" traumas or fears. As best as you can, allow yourself to be aware of your obsessions, and attempts to control the outcome -- when coupled with self-compassion, awareness can bring about that shift that frees us from the past. Always remember that an opportunity is not handed to us, we have to actively work with the energies at hand to get the benefit.

In the morning, we might experience a pull between extroverted and introverted impulses; we'll need to make some inner adjustments, allowing ourselves to trust all that occurs, remaining as flexible and open-minded as possible.

In the afternoon, we need to practice self-compassion: As best as you can, feel your feelings, allow yourself to be human and appreciate/acknowledge all the feelings of your personal emotional rainbow. Trust that all feelings are valuable and bring you more closely in alignment with your higher Self. After all, today is a perfect day for spiritual endeavors, creativity, or helping others.

A head's up for next Monday: At 2:53am EDT, we enter a 1.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC) phase that lasts until 4:33am EDTAt 4:33am EDT, the Moon moves into pioneering, fast-paced Aries, where it will journey until Wednesday morningIn the late evening, a Sun/Neptune opposition will become exact... more about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)

Have a fantastic week!
Many blessings,
Sonja

Unusual Times -- Astrology Forecast for Mon., Aug.17th - Sun., Aug.23rd , 2015

Please note that all times given below are Eastern Daylight Saving Time -- to change the listed times to your own timezone, I recommend clicking here for the time and date converter

I felt like someone had drugged me all of last week... definitely connected to the Neptune/Mercury opposition that was exact last Wednesday. It helped to be compassionate with myself and rest whenever I could -- as did taking some time off over the weekend.

This week's headline items: the first Quarter Moon in Scorpio becomes exact on Saturday afternoon; the Sun changes signs from Leo to Virgo on Sunday morning... And there will be three Moon VoC phases this week: Monday afternoon (for a little over 3 hours), Wednesday late evening (6.5 hours), and Saturday afternoon (a little over an hour).

Monday: the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo until 4:23pm EDT. This turns our focus toward practical activities. Solving problems, making order out of confusion, helping others: all bring emotional satisfaction.

Health might come into focus. We notice the parts that make up the whole; this is a great time to see if our daily routines (eating, work, self-care, etc.), align with our long-term goals.

Monday at 1:16pm EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC) that last a little over 3-hours, until 4:23pm EDT. Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to get organized and get clear about what you want to manifest long-term. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new.

Monday at 4:23pm EDT, the Moon moves into harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra, where it will journey until Thursday morning. The energy of the Libra Moon wants to maintain equal relationships: we thus tend to spend more time on diplomacy -- making compromises, negotiating, practicing graciousness, balancing, etc.

We can better set aside our emotions, to achieve the peace we desire; the shadow side of this is a tendency to avoid direct confrontations. We see both sides -- and may also fear loss of approval -- so we can't decide. As best as you can, find your inner balance with this... and communicate what needs to be said with grace and charm.

Tuesday: the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra all day (see Monday afternoon for details).

Tuesday morning:  We have an opportunity to connect with others and create great things. In the late morning, we may need to make some inner adjustments, allowing ourselves to go with the flow, while still connecting to others.

In the evening, we may need to make some adjustments and find creative ways to work with the energies at play: On the one hand we need to collaborate with others and play nice, on the other hand, we feel a deep desire to be authentic and truthful about what we want to build long-term.

Wednesday: the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra all day (see Monday afternoon for details).

Wednesday early afternoon, a harmonious Venus/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 12:44pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from last Friday on; it will be strong until next week Tuesday. This aspect helps us to embrace all that is new and unusual in romance and finance. We are ready to experiment -- but not to commit. We have an offbeat, pleasant attitude and people are more willing to socialize.

This is an especially good time for financial undertakings involving any of the following: technology and the internet; metaphysics; the arts; group activities. We lose our fear of taking risks at this time, this could be a good couple of days for the stock market indexes :-)

Please remember that Venus is still retrograde, therefore remain from starting anything brand-new when it comes to investments or relationships.

Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 17-23 degrees of Leo, Aries or Sagittarius? If so, you will be most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Aquarius (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Uranus rules Aquarius)

Also on Wednesday early afternoon, a somewhat challenging Venus/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 12:51pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Monday on; it will be strong until Friday. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed in order to see what needs adjusting.

There may be vague feelings of discontent in our relationships -- or a choice that needs to be made regarding personal relationships, money, or possessions. Insecurity involving others might make it hard for us to express our affections naturally or flowingly. As best as you can, bring a good dose of compassion and understanding to yourself and any interactions you have with others.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 19-21 degrees of Leo or Pisces? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Pisces (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Neptune is the ruler of Pisces).

Wednesday at 10:56pm EDT, we enter a 6.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC) that last until 5:24am EDT (Thursday early morning)Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to bring fairness, balance and a fun-loving attitude to interactions with others. Take it easy and, as always during VoC, go with the flow (and avoid starting anything brand-new).

Thursday morning at 5am EDT, Mercury moves over 20 degrees of Virgo (the degree at which the Solar Eclipse will become exact on Sept. 13th). This will trigger some communication issues or thought patterns that will need to be addressed on or after Sept. 13th. The key here is to create awareness of two things: First, how can we connect more clearly to our inner dialog and our Soul's journey?

Second: what additional information do we need to tap into, so that we can connect more fully to how we can be of service and what it entails? What messages are you receiving this morning that need addressing?

If you set intentions last week Friday or Saturday, after the New Moon became exact, Thursday after 5:24am EDT will be the best time to take relevant actions. If you wrote your intentions down, go back and take another look at what came through intuitively. If you didn’t write anything down, get quiet for a moment and check in with yourself: What actions are calling to you?

Thursday at 5:24am EDT, the Moon moves into passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will journey until Tuesday morning. We feel emotions on a deeply personal level. We are motivated by the desire to get to the bottom of things -- superficiality won't work for us now -- and we instinctively read between the lines.

The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power; it's an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. This tends to be an emotionally colored, all-or-nothing, black or white experience -- it can therefore be an intimate, passionate time.

As best as you can, avoid manipulation, brooding and suspicion; instead, open to the wealth of your innermost feelings -- decide to go deeper, allowing all feelings to surface, if they need to. Embrace all of who you are. Know thyself, love thyself and you shall be set free.

Remember: a deep love of all that we are will connect us to the Power within; Fear causes "Force" to show up -- and is ultimately what disempowers ourselves and others. This Moon placement starts the build up towards the first Quarter Moon (exact on Saturday afternoon).

Right after the Moon enters Scorpio, a Mercury/Chiron opposition becomes exact at 5:44am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Tuesday on; it will be strong until Saturday. We have a chance to balance our ability to think and speak clearly with our emotional wounding and insecurities.

This aspect may play out in a relationship, with each of you living out one side of the equation. We may experience guilt or shame around something we said or didn't say. If you feel triggered by someone else, or vice versa: as best as you can, bring compassion and kindness towards both of you. Ask yourself: Is this connected to my past and/or upbringing? What if this is an opportunity to embrace myself with love and kindness?

Do you have your Ascendent (or personal planets) in 17-23 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini or Sagittarius? If so, you will be most affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo (Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo).

Also on Thursday morning, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 6:02am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Wednesday morning on; it will be strong until Thursday night. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed if we’re to see what needs adjusting.

It can be hard to make decisions under this influence, as we tend to doubt our perceptions, or the our problem-solving ability. It may also be hard to read the intention behind the words used to communicate, leading to misunderstandings: As best as you can, give yourself time to respond and forgive yourself if you make mistakes -- after all, you are human ;-)

Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 19-21 degrees of Virgo or Aries? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Jupiter of Sagittarius).

Friday: the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day (see Thursday morning for details).

Friday evening, a challenging Sun/Saturn becomes exact at 7:40pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Tuesday on; it will be strong until next week Monday. We're asked to stretch ourselves and grow beyond what we have known ourselves to be; this commitment (and responsibility) towards a deeper process with ourselves and others urges us out of our comfort zone.

Find creative ways to honor your inner process. Connect to the joy within, even if that means giving up some privacy or emotional safety. A true King or Queen is able to fulfill their duties, even if that is the price. Which would you rather have: your old programs, or more joy and love? Can you stand up as the King or Queen within?

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 25-29 degrees of Leo, Scorpio, Taurus, Aquarius orin 0-2 degrees of Virgo, Sagittarius, Gemini or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Capricorn (the Sun rules Leo; Saturn rules Capricorn)

Saturday: the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio until 4:41pm EDT (see Thursday morning for details).

Saturday morning, a somewhat challenging Mars/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 6:22am EDT. We started to feel this aspect from Friday morning on; it will be strong until next week Monday. Our idealism and high expectations could lead us into frustrating circumstances that leaves us emotionally and physically drained.

Our vitality and emotional resilience increase as we learn how (and where) to get involved in projects we feel passionate about. We have difficulty establishing realistic limits with others and around our self-expectations. We could feel vaguely discontented and directionless under this influence.

There might be a tendency toward carelessness, poor judgment and feeling overwhelmed -- this could potentially keep us from realizing our plans. As best as you can, allow for downtime, resting and spiritual connections.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 1-5 degrees of Leo or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Pisces (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Neptune rules Pisces)

Saturday at 3:31pm EDT, the first Quarter Moon becomes exact, in 29 degrees of ScorpioWe started to feel this aspect from the moment the Moon entered Scorpio on Thursday morning. The Moon in passionate, intimate, all-or-nothing Scorpio makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in playful, attention-seeking, self-expressed Leo

We feel compelled to take action. Last week saw the New Moon, on Aug. 14th If we began a project or initiative around then, it is probably off the ground by now -- and facing its first obstacles. This is therefore a time to stretch and grow -- and create some forward momentum. We may feel anxious or unusually busy. As best as you can, take it one breath at a time. Allow for changes, remain flexible and find creative solutions in your day-to-day interactions with others.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in any of the following: 27-29 degrees of Scorpio, Leo, Taurus, Aquarius or 0-1 degrees of Sagittarius,Virgo, Gemini or Pisces? If so, you will feel the effects of this first Quarter Moon more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

Right after the first Quarter Moon becomes exact, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC) that last a little over an hour, until 4:41pm EDT. We are experiencing two quite different needs, pulling us in different directions. On the one hand, we have a need for fun and feeling self-expressed. On the other hand, we need to focus on our inner experiences — and take responsibility for who we are deep down.

Use this intuitive time to make adjustments and find creative solutions when it comes to these energies. If at all possible, refrain from starting anything brand-new and stick to routine things. If nothing else…simply go with the flow.

Saturday at 4:41pm EDT, the Moon moves into optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius, where it will journey until Monday night/Tuesday very early morning of next week.

Sunday: the Moon remains inoptimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius all day (see Saturday afternoon for details).

Sunday at 6:37am EDT, the Sun changes signs from playful, vital Leo into practical, detail-oriented Virgo. It will journey through Virgo until September 23rd. This time is best used for getting our lives in order and expressing ourselves in realistic, practical terms.

Taking care of health issues (for example, starting a new exercise or eating routine) might be just the thing to do within the next four weeks. Being of service and moving towards improving our living conditions are essential Virgo qualities. How can you be of service to others? What is something in your life that could benefit from making improvements?

All this is especially true if you are a Leo or Virgo Sun-sign or Rising-sign. As a Virgo, you will feel a good dose of confidence and playfulness in the next four weeks; as a Leo, you are more aware of the details and are more grounded in reality.

A head's up for next Monday: the Moon remains inoptimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius all day (see Saturday afternoon for details); at 6:04pm EDT, we enter a 6.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC) that last until 12:22am EDT (Monday night/Tuesday very early morning)...more about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)

Have a fantastic week!
Many blessings,
Sonja
