Productive Discussions -- Astrology Forecast for Mon., Dec. 28th, 2015 - Sun., Jan. 3rd, 2016

Please note that all times given below are Eastern Standard Time -- to change the listed times to your own timezone, I recommend clicking here for the time and date converter

I am realizing more and more how valuable relaxation and downtime is for our inner equilibrium and outer effectiveness. When we give ourselves time to think, process and digest without any obligations, pushing or deadlines, something miraculous happens: the universe connects with us in a way that was not possible before. Things line up, ideas come, energy flows beautifully. Life supports us as much as we support life ;-)

This week's headline items: Lots of planets changing signs this week: First, Venus changes signs from Scorpio to Sagittarius on Wednesday very early morning, then Mercury, from Capricorn to Aquarius on Friday evening and lastly, Mars from Libra to Scorpio on Sunday morning. Also worth mentioning: on Thursday, the Jupiter station intensifies and Mercury starts to slow down (station) preparing to come to a halt -- to its retrograde phase. Finally, the last Quarter Moon in Libra becomes exact on Friday night/Saturday very early morning.

There will also be three Moon Void of Course (VoC) phases this week, one of them lasting over 24 hours: Tuesday early afternoon (for almost 1.5 hours), Thursday night/Friday very early morning (a little over an hour), and Saturday (starting in the late morning and continuing for 27 hours).

Monday: the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo. It will journey there until Tuesday afternoon. We have a chance to appreciate ourselves and our lives -- and to connect to the heart. Hand out as many compliments as possible, they will be deeply appreciated :-)

Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones. What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you squeak just thinking about it?

Monday starts out with lots of opportunities to get things done and move exciting projects forward -- but by the late morning, we are asked to bring awareness to whatever we feel most passionate about long-term; this creates internal dissonance or unease.

Are we after laughter and joy? Or intense emotion and authentic accomplishments? As best as you can, make adjustments as needed, and drop any self-judgment.

In the early afternoon, we feel ease around self-expression and personal goals; it's a great time to look ahead to see how we can make a difference in the world by being uniquely ourselves.

As there are only a couple of days left of this month, I want to encourage you to take advantage of the December Special: Join my mailing list and receive the "Intro to Soul-Based Astrology" course for FREE ;-) -- just email info@AstrologerCoach.com and put “NEWSLETTER” in the subject line.

Tuesday is a busy day! The Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo until 1:58pm EST (see Monday for details).

Tuesday morning, an opportune Sun/Neptune aspectbecomes exact at 8:18am EST. We have been feeling this aspect build from last Saturday on; it will be strong until this Friday. This aspect is an opportunity both to dissolve what no longer serves us, and to connect to our intuition. We definitely feel inspired.

Charitable acts lift our spirits -- our capacity for compassion (both toward ourselves and others) is quite strong, especially if we are able to acknowledge it. Dreams and reality find a way to work together now -- any spiritual or creative endeavors that are started during this time will most likely do very well. Remember: this is an "opportunity" -- it isn't just handed to us, we have to make it happen.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 4-11 degrees of Capricorn, Pisces, Taurus or Scorpio? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Pisces (the Sun rules Leo; Neptune is the ruler of Pisces).

Tuesday late morning, a challenging Mercury/Mars aspectbecomes exact at 9:52am EST. We have been feeling this aspect build from last Thursday on; it will be strong until January 8th (Friday of next week). This aspectbrings some juicy energy to our conversations. This is a chance to have some discussions that have been long overdue.

As best as you can, make it a productive discussion that serves you and others -- a win-win -- otherwise you might feel really awful afterwards. As best as you can, seek to empower yourself and the other person. Also, watch out on the road for some crazy drivers… rushing might not necessarily get you there any faster ;-)

Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 24-29 degrees of Capricorn, Libra, Aries, Canceror 0-2 degrees of Aquarius, Scorpio, Leo, Taurus? If so, you may feel more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Aries (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Mars rules Aries)

Tuesday at 12:38pm EST we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts almost 1.5-hour, until 1:58m EST. Use this intuitive time to make some adjustments and (as best as you can) and find creative solutions to seemingly unsolvable situations.

Make space for connecting deeply/intimately with someone and also for having some fun, letting your inner child come out and play. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow.

Tuesday at 1:58pm EST, the Moon moves into detail-oriented, practical Virgo, where it will journey until Thursday night/Friday very early morning. This turns our focus toward practical activities. Solving problems, making order out of confusion, helping others: all bring emotional satisfaction.

Health might come into focus. We notice the parts that make up the whole; this is a great time to see if our daily routines (eating, work, self-care, etc.), align with our long-term goals.

Wednesday: the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day (see Tuesday afternoon for details).

Wednesday very early morning, at 2:16am EST, Venus changes signs from intense, all-or-nothing Scorpio to adventurous, freedom-loving Sagittarius. It will journey there until Jan. 23rd; until then, we feel more social, and inclined especially to connect to people from different backgrounds and countries. We like to explore new things, whether food or social gatherings: if it's exotic, it's great!

We are more likely to take some risks now with others, and to say what's on our mind. Our relationships need to be connected to adventure -- a trip might be just the thing. Getting away from our routines and exploring life... hey, why not? :-)

Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra? If so, you will feel more adventurous and spontaneous for the next 4 weeks; your heart will want to explore new things and get a new perspective on life. If you are a Sagittarius Sun-sign or Rising-sign, for as long as Venus is in your sign, you will attract more love, abundance and beauty into your life.

Head's Up: DEAL OF THE MONTH ends tomorrow (Thursday)! Hint: This is a great offer for anyone who wants to be able to read their own birth chart (and understand their Soul's Journey more fully)... Click here to check it out

Thursday: the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day (see Tuesday afternoon for details).

Jupiter will come to a halt a week from today (Thursday), prior to going retrograde for 4 months; its station intensifies today. We will feel its energy more forcefully during the station-phase (which lasts until Jan. 19th).

We start to be more fully aware of Jupiter's energy; this awareness helps us to get more connected to those energies within us. We get to see where we need to embrace them more fully, so that we can use them in a healthy way, without getting lost in the lower vibrations of their expression.

Until Jan.19th, we have to face what this planet is trying to communicate to us: Jupiter represents our desire to seek insight through knowledge. Some of this planet's keywords include: morality; gratitude; hope; honor; the law. Jupiter is the planet of possibility, optimism and growth (including mental and spiritual growth). Jupiter is also associated with a sense of humor, goodwill, and mercy.

The lower expressions of Jupiter include "Oh, the heck with it", "I deserve this and more", "the rules do not apply to me" -- generally speaking: too much of a good thing, blind optimism, excess, stretching the truth, overindulgence.

Those of us who have any of our personal planets (or our Ascendent) in 21-25 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini or Sagittarius will be more affected by this station; as will those of us who have their Ascendent or Sun-sign in Sagittarius (Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius, so those folks will always be affected more strongly by Jupiter's movements and aspects).

Thursday evening (New Year's eve): Mercury starts to slow down (“station”), preparing to come to a halt next week Tuesday, Jan.5th (when it will begin its 3-week retrograde phase). More on that next week...

For the next 9 days (until Jan. 9th), we need to be patient with ourselves and others -- especially if there is a connection with communication or transportation, and their associated technologies. This is not the best time to start anything brand-new, especially if it contains new information that needs to be processed.

We might experience delays or misunderstandings, and things tend to feel "off" or stagnant. It might be a good idea to give yourself some extra time to get ready or travel somewhere -- especially if you intend to use public transportation or drive (For more details on Mercury Shadow Phases and Retrogrades, click here)

Some of us will feel the effects of this station more than others: those of us with Gemini or Virgo as our Sun- or Rising-Sign (Ascendant) -- and those of us with personal planets (or angles) in 27-29 degrees of Capricorn, Libra, Aries, Cancer or0-3 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Scorpio,Taurus

Thursday: The "DEAL OF THE MONTH" ends today at midnight! As a reminder, this is a great offer for anyone who wants to be able to read their own birth chart (and understand their Soul's Journey more fully)... Click here to check it out

2016 begins with a brief Moon VoC! Thursday night/Friday very early morning at 12:33am EST we enter a Moon void of course (VoC) that lasts for a little over one hour, until 1:41am EST. If you are awake at this time, tune into your well-being. You can also use this intuitive time to connect with others or yourself in a realistic, truthful way -- it will support your need for clarity and specificity.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new -- stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow -- you could also consider setting New Year's intentions either before or after the VoC ;-)

Friday at 1:41am EST, the Moon moves into harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra, where it will journey until Sunday afternoon. The energy of the Libra Moon wants to maintain equal relationships: we thus tend to spend more time on diplomacy -- making compromises, negotiating, practicing graciousness, balancing, etc.

We can better set aside our emotions, to achieve the peace we desire; the shadow side of this is a tendency to avoid direct confrontations. We see both sides -- and may also fear loss of approval -- so we can't decide. As best as you can, find your inner balance with this... and communicate what needs to be said with grace and charm. This also starts the build up towards the last Quarter Moon -- more on that tomorrow.

Friday at 9:20pm EST, Mercury changes signs from practical, cautious, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn to freedom-loving, forward-thinking, objective Aquarius, where it will journey only until Jan. 8th, due to the Mercury retrograde. For the next 7 days, we tend to contradict others more quickly, and offer a different perspective. We enjoy intellectual debates. We are quicker and more alert; our powers of observation are particularly strong.

We have something interesting to say, and our perspective on issues can be delightfully unusual and surprisingly insightful. This makes for some great conversations. We are more attracted to scientific and/or metaphysical pursuits right now. Anything that promises progress and advancement for mankind has special appeal.

Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo? If so, you will feel a greater need for focusing on your future and any humanitarian causes. Do you have your Ascendent or Sun-sign in Aquarius? If so, you will most likely feel more chatty for the next 7 days.

Saturday: the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra all day (see Friday very early morning for details).

Friday night/Saturday very early morning, at 12:30am EST, the last Quarter Moonbecomes exact in 11 degrees of Libra. We started to feel this aspect from the moment the Moon entered Libra, Friday very early morning . The Moon in relationship-oriented, harmony-loving Libra makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in ambitious, goal-oriented Capricorn. This may bring up some challenges. However, it also energizes us to look at what needs to be completed -- and what needs to be changed. This Moon phase brings us closer to the next New Moon (Jan. 9th).

With the last Quarter Moon, rather than starting major new projects, it serves us take a look at what was started around the time of the last New Moon -- in this case, around Dec. 11th. We now have about a week to wrap those projects up. What -- if anything -- needs last-minute adjustments? What did you discover since Dec. 11th? What did it mean for you? As best as you can, find creative solutions for anything that comes up, whether internally or with others.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 9-13 degrees of Libra, Capricorn, Aries or Cancer? If so, you are more affected by this month's last Quarter Moon. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer, since the Sun rules Leo and the Moon rules Cancer.

Saturday late morning, at 11:23am EST we enter a 27-hour Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts until 2:26pm EST (Sunday afternoon). Use this intuitive time to balance your need for equal and harmonious connection, with your drive toward personal visions and ideas.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan the second half of Saturday and Sunday morning ahead of time ;-)

Sunday: the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra and VoC until 2:36pm EST (see Friday very early morning for details).

Sunday at 9:32am EST, Mars changes signs from relationship-oriented, balance-seeking Libra to passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will travel until March 5th.

While Mars in Libra strives to bring fairness to the world, Mars in Scorpio knows that life simply isn't fair. Mars in Libra seeks the middle ground; Mars in Scorpio says "It's black or white: Pick one!" It's all about accepting challenges and making changes with concentrated energy and willpower.

We rely heavily on our gut feelings. We can see through others, could potentially exploit or (quietly but formidably) oppose them. We project cool equilibrium; below the surface may be another story -- in general, we don't want to show our hand…

We may be attracted to sexual taboos or fantasies in which the "other" surrenders their body and will completely -- and our sex appeal could perhaps be strong enough to bring that about.

Mars in Scorpio has a provocative quality to it: We might test ourselves and others. We make all kinds of rules and goals, just for the personal satisfaction that comes from achieving or mastering them. Our survival instincts are stronger; we more easily embrace our own animal nature, without guilt.

All this is especially true if you have an Aries or Scorpio Sun- or Rising-sign. Scorpios will feel unusually energized, passionate and direct -- and physically stronger. Aries will feel more intensely connected to others (and to life) for the next 5 weeks :-)

Sunday at 2:36pm EST, the Moon moves intopassionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will journey until Wednesday very early morning. We feel emotions on a deeply personal level. We are motivated by the desire to get to the bottom of things -- superficiality won't work for us now -- and we instinctively read between the lines.

The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power; it's an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. This tends to be an emotionally colored, all-or-nothing, black or white experience -- it can therefore be an intimate, passionate time. As best as you can, avoid manipulation, brooding and suspicion; instead, open to the wealth of your innermost feelings -- decide to go deeper, allowing all feelings to surface, if they need to.

Embrace all of who you are. Know thyself, love thyself and you shall be set free. Remember: a deep love of all that we are will connect us to the Power within; Fear causes "Force" to show up -- and is ultimately what disempowers ourselves and others.

A head's up for next Monday: the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothingScorpio all day (see Sunday afternoon for details).More about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)

Have a fantastic week and a Happy New Year!
Many blessings,
Sonja

Energetic Gateway -- Astrology Forecast for Mon., Dec. 21st - Sun., Dec. 27th, 2015

Please note that all times given below are Eastern Standard Time -- to change the listed times to your own timezone, I recommend clicking here for the time and date converter

I was reflecting with a friend of mine on this year; we came to the conclusion that 2015 was a year of surrender and integration -- in particular, learning how to balance the feminine and masculine energies -- pushing less, allowing more. For me personally, even though it felt as if nothing was moving fast enough on the outside, I experienced an incredible amount of inner growth and healing.

I feel much more mature and able to handle things in my life. I have also received such wonderful support from like-minded people that have taught me so much about healing and being human. I feel so blessed and grateful for all the love I have received from (and exchanged with) people all over the world. Thank you so much and I am wishing you all a peaceful, joyful Holiday!

Just a reminder: I am taking a couple of weeks off, until January 3rd. If you would like to book a reading for the week of January 4th, click here

This week's headline items: the Sun changes signs from Sagittarius to Capricorn on Monday late evening, marking the day of the Winter Solstice in the northern hemisphere; on Friday morning, the Full Moon in Cancer becomes exact and later that day, Uranus comes to a halt. Finally, on Sunday Jupiter starts to slow down, beginning its station before turning retrograde.

There will also be three Moon VoC phases this week: Tuesday morning (for 12 hours), Thursday afternoon (for almost 9.5 hours), and Saturday late evening (for 7 hours).

Monday: the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all day.It will journey there until Tuesday evening. With the Moon in Taurus, we seek serenity, security, peace, comfort: The Moon is at her most sensual and constant in Taurus.

Our basic impulse is to relax, resist change, get comfortable: Life… slows… down... We may also be stubborn and materialistic under this influence. As best you can, stop and smell the roses during this time -- enjoy life and its offerings ;-)

Monday morning, an opportune Mercury/Chiron aspectbecomes exact at 8:39am EST. We have been feeling this aspect build from Saturday night on; it will be strong until Tuesday evening. We have an opportunity to bring healing energy to our concrete mind and to our thoughts. We also have a chance to heal insecurities in our verbal, in-person, or email interactions.

We are able to move past harsh criticism of ourselves or others, towards more loving and compassionate structures for thinking and communicating. By bringing love and understanding to our thinking processes, we have a chance to move beyond entrenched habits -- like pushing ourselves really hard, or thinking pessimistically.

What was your family's attitude towards career -- or long-term goals in general? How can you take a gentler approach to your inner dialog now?

Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 15-19 degrees of Capricorn, Pisces, Taurus or Scorpio? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo).

Monday at 11:48pm EST, the Sun changes signs from optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius to practical, accomplishment-oriented, status-oriented Capricorn. This also marks the shortest day of the year (in the northern hemisphere) and the beginning of Winter -- aka the Winter Solstice.

The Solstices are important turning points that take place twice a year: They are energetic gateways for the summer or winter season to come through. Solstice Points are thus extra-potent times to set intentions and take part in ceremonies.

The Sun will journey through the sign of Capricorn until January 20th. Capricorn is a feet-on-the-ground, eyes-on-the-prize sign. As the Sun travels through it, we take a realistic, grounded approach to life; we know how to do things, and how to get things done.

We have a stronger sense of society and its structure, and feel most secure when doing our part within that structure; as such, worldly recognition may take on more importance for us. Making plans for the future can be very effective right now. We are more risk-averse at this time but we are ready to work hard and focus on what is essential.

All this is especially true if you are a Leo or Capricorn Sun-sign or Rising-sign. As a Capricorn, you will feel a good dose of confidence and playfulness in the next four weeks; as a Leo, you are more cautious and practical than usual…working towards a realistic long-term goal might be just the thing for you to do.

Tuesday: the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus until 9:31pm EST(see Monday for details).

Tuesday at 9:26am EST we enter a 12-hour Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts until 9:31pm EST. Use this intuitive time to get grounded in reality, enjoy physical pleasures, and find new daily routines that support your well-being. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan your day ahead of time ;-)

Tuesday at 9:31pm EST, the Moon moves into chatty, versatile Gemini, where it will journey until Thursday night/Friday very early morning. The Gemini Moon keeps us social and busy. Interactions may take place online, on the phone, or face-to-face with those in our immediate environment. With this Moon placement, we like to multitask and stay engaged with life as much as possible: As long as we don't get bored, we're good.

Wednesday: the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini all day (see Tuesday evening for details).

The first half of Wednesday requires adjustments -- and we may need to do a little stretching and growing, when it comes to our inner or emotional experiences. As best as you can, be gentle with yourself and others, seek to understand before seeking to be understood.

In the afternoon, we are asked to slow down, get more serious and find a balance between light chatter and thoughtful, realistic world-views.

Thursday: the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini all day (see Tuesday evening for details).

Thursday morning, an opportune Venus/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 5:03am EST. We started to feel this aspect from Tuesday evening on; it will be strong until Friday night. We have an opportunity to grow in our social and personal relationships at this time. Humor and caring play a big role in our interactions with others.

We can call upon tolerance, optimism and co-operation when dealing with loved ones now. Financially speaking, things are "on the up"; we may have opportunities now to expand our pocketbooks -- if we make sounds decisions that are in the interest of everyone involved.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 21-25 degrees of Scorpio, Virgo, Cancer or Capricorn ? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Sagittarius (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).

Thursday at 3:04pm EST we enter a  Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts almost 9.5-hours, until 12:27am EST (Thursday night/Friday very early morning). Use this intuitive time to share about your existing projects and passions -- especially with collaborators.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan your afternoon and evening ahead of time ;-) Last-minute Christmas shopping might not be the best idea after 3pm (unless you already know what you are getting ;-)

Lastly, also worth mentioning on Thursday: Since Uranus comes to a halt tomorrow (Friday), it will make its presence known quite forcefully for the next three days. This gives us the opportunity to evaluate how free we actually feel. We might have flashes of insight or new ideas about what needs to change in our lives. Definitely expect the unexpected. As best as you can, stay open and flexible, go with the flow -- and pay attention to those messages from the Universe ;-)

Christmas Day (Friday) is a big day! In the very early morning, at 12:27am EST, the Moon moves into protective, introverted Cancer, where it will journey until Sunday morning. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say to (and about) us, so be kind to yourself and others.

Emotional safety is important to us at this time: We like connecting to the familiar, home or family becomes our sanctuary. Nurture yourself and others, but remember: Make sure your glass is filled before letting others drink from it — otherwise we might start resenting others for draining our energies. This also starts the build-up towards the Full Moon, exact Sunday late evening…more on that later…

Friday at 6:12am EST, this month's Full Moon (in 3 degrees of Cancer) becomes exact. As mentioned above, the entrance of the Moon into Cancer (Thursday night/Friday very early morning) started the energetic build up towards this Full Moon. Relationships of all kinds are highlighted during this time -- however, especially family and business-relationships.

As the Sun is in Capricorn during the next two weeks, we are looking for balance, and are more aware than ever that something needs to be brought into alignment. The balance we seek is between the Capricorn-Cancer polarity.

Capricorn teaches us to honor all aspects of the physical world; it also urges us to create and build something of long-term use to everyone. Cancer, on the other hand, represents the formation of the emotional body and an understanding of our feelings. This helps us navigate life by building an awareness of what is healthy or harmful.

In order to emerge as healthy beings, we need to be able to nurture ourselves and others, taking care of our feelings and our "inner baby" (Cancer) — yet we also need to be able to evolve into responsible adults, able to provide for ourselves and others (Capricorn).

Capricorn asks us to step into our power and mature to the point where we no longer need to look outside of ourselves for approval or validation -- to become the master of our own lives. Cancer is about healthy roots; Capricorn is about sharing the fruits of our labor.

In order to develop a healthy inner Capricorn, we must learn to listen to our feelings and honor our needs, not disregard them. Only then can we build something of value and move towards mastery.

Questions you can ask yourself: Am I connected to what nurtures me -- or to my "shoulds"? Does my current environment support my inner growth? Does it provide me with nourishing bonds to others?

Uranus comes to a halt in 16.5 degrees of Aries the same day the Full Moon becomes exact (which also happens to be Christmas Day). This is a sign that, for the next two weeks, we are invited to make a quantum leap forward and make some real changes in at least one area of our lives. Think back to July 26th, when Uranus went retrograde: What was "in your face" then? And now? Where are you being called to allow a big shift?

If you'd like more details on Uranus going direct, see the entry for Friday evening, below.

Neptune in Pisces supports this Full Moon, making a trine to the Moon in Cancer and a sextile to the Sun in Capricorn. As we become more willing to have faith and connect to our intuition, we learn to get in touch with our "feeling body", our inner light and our ability to listen to ourselves. For the next two weeks, give yourself time to tune in to yourself and nurture your "inner baby": What does it need from you? When does it feel most loved and taken care of by you?

Neptune knows a very simple truth about who we really are on a soul level and how we function best. I've been talking in recent videos about the Neptune/Saturn square; this calls us to question our basic assumptions about who we are (and what we believe) in or about the physical world.

Could you shift from "attempting to have a spiritual experience", to simply knowing that you are always already a spiritual being (having a human experience)? What might be possible if you could shift your perspective in that way?

It would be lovely if everyone was on the same path, at the same time; all of us having the same revelations about our basic human nature and spiritual connection... But we all know this isn't so -- it's therefore paramount that we focus on our own inner processes and perspectives, without preaching.

We can connect with those on a similar path, but it's important to remember that each of us has our own path to walk -- and we can't control how fast or slow, how well, or in what fashion anyone does so. Love is about acceptance (self-acceptance included) and knowing that everyone is exactly where they need to be.

In summary: For this Full Moon, as best as you can, honor your feelings and needs. This will help you build something rooted in your inner light & truth -- then share the fruits of your labor with the world. Ask yourself: What if I listened, nurtured, and treated the natural world and all living beings with respect and love — myself included? Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 1-5 degrees of Cancer, Capricorn, Aries and Libra? If so, you are more affected by this month's Full Moon. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

Friday afternoon, a harmonious Mercury/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 3:19pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from Wednesday on, it will be strong until Monday of next week. We are more optimistic and realistic -- which is good, since we see the bigger picture, communicate more positively and readily inspire others.

We are tolerant of other perspectives and ideas, naturally avoid narrow-minded thinking, and feel at ease talking with people from all walks of life. We might be strongly drawn to foreign languages, cultures, and destinations.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 20-26 degrees of Capricorn, Virgo or Taurus? If so, you will feel most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Jupiter of Sagittarius).

Friday late evening, at 10:53pm EST, Uranus comes to halt at 16.5 degrees of Aries, turning direct again after its 5-month retrograde phase. We've had 5 months to reevaluate certain things: goals, group causes, issues around freedom. We've also reflected on our vision for the future, and where the obstacles to that vision might lie.

We are now ready to take into the world all that we have learned and make some progress. Uranus will be back to its usual speed by Jan. 5th; at that point you could say its “Change or be changed” -- change is inevitable, so it might as well be change you’ve chosen consciously. Note that Uranus also rules electronics, technology and the internet; these may all be influenced by the planet's slower movement.

Is your Sun sign or Ascendant in Aquarius? Or do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 14-19 degrees of Aries,Libra, Capricorn or Cancer? If so, you will feel more connected to the Uranus station.

Saturday: the Moon remains in protective, introverted Cancer all day (see Friday very early morning for more details).

If fears or concerns come up today, simply allow them and observe them; ask yourself: Is this connected to my past or my future? Is it actually here right now? If in fact you notice that the fear/concern is connected to a memory, or is a projection into the future, try asking yourself: Could I simply let it go, just as best as I can, and just for this "now moment"?

Saturday at 10:36pm EST we enter a 7-hour Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts until 5:31am EST (Sunday morning). If you are awake, use this intuitive time to connect with yourself and others on a deep emotional level -- really focus on emotional authenticity. This is a great time for very deep inner work; as best you can, be open to receiving support and nurturing from yourself and others. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow.

Sunday at 5:31am EST, the Moon moves into fun and attention-loving Leo, where it will journey until Tuesday afternoon.

As Sunday afternoon rolls around, we begin to feel uneasy: We are being asked to bring awareness to our long-term commitments; this brings a sense of internal dissonance or unease. Fun or Business? Follow your bliss or long-term goals? As best as you can, make adjustments as needed, without judging yourself.

Towards the evening, running in parallel with the above, we are asked to develop inner awareness around our sensitivities and bring compassion to them; this likewise brings up dissonance or unease. Again: as best as you can, make adjustments as needed, and drop any self-judgment.

Also on Sunday, Jupiter starts to slow down, starting its station. As we get closer to Jan. 7th -- when it will come to a halt and go retrograde for 4 months -- this planet's energy will get stronger; this will hold true until Jan. 19th

A head's up for next Monday: the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo all day (see Sunday morning for details).More about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)

How We Respond to the World -- Astrology Forecast for Mon., Dec. 14th - Sun., Dec. 20th, 2015

Please note that all times given below are Eastern Standard Time -- to change the listed times to your own timezone, I recommend clicking here for the time and date converter

Last Friday's New Moon definitely had a very different energy to most... In fact, it was so extroverted and restless, it almost felt like a Full Moon. Communication, Feedback, Self-care, Perspectives: For the next two to four weeks, these will all be great to focus on and explore. How easy (or hard) will that be? One trap we could fall into would be Fear; another would be giving our power away.

A major way we do this is by focusing on things we don't have control over. The one thing we definitely do have control over is "ourselves", particularly how we respond to the world and what we put out by thought, deed and energy. When we put more of our focus on ourselves, we can make a change much greater than we can imagine. "Be the change that you want to see in the world"... Do not underestimate the power you have!

Just a heads-up: I will be taking a couple of weeks off, from Dec. 19th until January 3rd. If you would like to book a reading before then, jump in now (or book for the week of January 4th ;-) Click here to book your reading

This week's headline items: on Tuesday, we can start to take actions on last week's New Moon Intentions; on Friday late morning, the first Quarter Moon in Pisces becomes exact. On Saturday, Mercury enters its two-week shadow phase (prior to going retrograde) and Uranus's station intensifies.

There will also be four Moon VoC phases this week: Monday until 7:59am EST, Wednesday very early morning (for 10.5 hours), Friday late morning (for a little over 6 hours), and Sunday afternoon (for a little over 2 hours).

Monday: the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn and VoC until 7:59am ESTAt that time, the Moon moves into freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, where it will journey until Wednesday very early morning. The energy of the Aquarian Moon relates to our instinct for improvement.

Reactions are more intellectual than emotional; interactions more impersonal than personal. We are likely to have an increased fascination with the new and unusual. Social gatherings, anything connected with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas and methods, progress: all these are promoted during the time the Moon moves through Aquarius.

Again: we have our eyes on the future -- or on outer space :-) Personal freedom becomes paramount.

Monday late morning, a challenging Sun/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 2:40pm EST. We started feeling this aspect build from last Friday on; it will be strong until this Thursday. This aspect says “stretch and grow!”. There is a feeling of enthusiasm and excitement in the air; it almost seems as if we could move mountains.

Awareness is key: Be alert for undue optimism, that could lead to overextending or over-promising: As best as you can, stay connected to what's real — avoid exaggerations, especially when it comes to personal goals. This is a time when we can accomplish quite a bit -- if we don't let ourselves get too overwhelmed by all the thoughts and possibilities flooding our consciousness. As best as you can, take it one moment at a time, staying grounded in reality.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 19-25 degrees of Sagittarius, Virgo, Gemini or Pisces? If so, you will be more aware of this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Sagittarius (the Sun rules Leo; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).

Monday mid afternoon, an opportune Mercury/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 2:40pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from Sunday morning on; it will be strong until Tuesday evening. This is an opportunity to bring compassion and an intuitive approach to our thinking process. Having faith and connecting to our Higher Selves will be of service to us at this time.

Any artistic or spiritual endeavors are likely to do better at this time. Music might help us with our thinking process and our ability to get things done. Let yourself be inspired! A book, a song, a movie, someone else's words… allow the Universe to speak to you. Open your mind to a higher vibration -- opportunities are openings; they aren't necessarily handed to us -- we have to "take" them and make something of them.

Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 5-9 degrees of Capricorn, Pisces, Scorpio or Taurus? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Pisces (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Neptune rules Pisces).

Tuesday: the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius all day (see Monday morning for details).

Tuesday: If you set intentions last week Friday or Saturday, after the New Moon became exact, todaywill be the best time to take relevant actions. If you wrote your intentions down, go back and take another look at what came through intuitively. If you didn’t write anything down, get quiet for a moment and check in with yourself: What actions are calling to you?

Wednesday: the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius until 12:45pm EST (see Monday morning for details).

Wednesday at 2:17am EST, we enter a 10.5-hour Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts until 12:45pm EST. This is an intuitive time that presents an opportunity to connect to innovative ideas and unique worldviews. Let your vision change your perspective. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan the first half of your day ahead of time ;-)

Wednesday at 12:45pm EST, the Moon moves into creative, sensitive Pisces, where it will journey until Friday afternoon. The energy of the Pisces Moon bears on the need for connection to our higher selves. It can be a wistful, sensitive and compassionate time; we are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns.

Boundaries and walls come down; we feel energetically connected to everything around us. As best as you can, therefore, be kind to yourself and others -- surround yourself with loving energy. It's a time best used for spiritual or creative endeavors and for dissolving our fears and doubts. Feelings tend to flow more freely; as best as you can, let them ;-) This also starts the build up towards the first Quarter Moon (exact on Friday late morning)

Thursday: the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces all day (see Wednesday early afternoon for details).

Thursday morning, an opportune Venus/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 6:19am EST. We started to feel this aspect from Tuesday on; it will be strong until Friday night. We are focused and confident. In fact, we have an opportunity to bring all of our passion to what we value most -- to build something with deep emotional intent -- and we likewise appreciate depth of feeling and authenticity in our dealings with others.

This could also be a powerful and passionate time in our romantic relationships. We have the opportunity to build something long-term and bring a good dose of passion to that process. Remember: this is an "opportunity" -- opportunities aren't necessarily handed to us, we have to make them happen.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 12-17 degrees of Scorpio, Capricorn, Pisces or Virgo? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Scorpio (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio)

Friday: the Moon remains in creative, sensitive Pisces until 4:26pm EST (see Wednesday early afternoon for details).

Friday at 10:14am EST, the first Quarter Moon in 26 degrees of Pisces becomes exact. We started to feel this aspect from the moment the Moon entered Pisces on Wednesday early afternoon. The Moon in creative, sensitive, compassionate Pisces makes a challenging aspect to the Sun in optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius.

We feel compelled to take action. Last Friday saw the New Moon, on Dec. 11th. If we seeded a project or initiative around then, it is probably off the ground by now -- and facing its first obstacles. This is therefore a time to stretch and grow -- and create some forward momentum. We may feel anxious or unusually busy. As best as you can, take it one breath at a time. Allow for changes, remain flexible and find creative solutions in your day-to-day interactions with others.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in any of the following: 24-28 degrees of Pisces, Sagittarius, Virgo or Gemini? If so, you will feel the effects of this first Quarter Moon more strongly than otherwise. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

At that same time (10:14am EST), we also enter a  Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts a little over 6-hours, until 4:26pm EST. We are pulled in two quite different directions: On the one hand, a desire for silence, emotional oneness, and creativity flowing through us... And on the other, a desire for actively exploration... Use this intuitive time to make adjustments and find creative solutions when it comes to these energies.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan your "working day" ahead of time ;-)

Friday at 4:26pm EST, the Moon enters pioneering, fast-paced Aries, where it will journey until Sunday evening. The energy of the Aries Moon bears on starting something new. Our gut impulses are strong; we feel energetic, spontaneous, enthusiastic and brave -- and perhaps impatient and impulsive. Excess energy is best channeled into physical activity.

Friday late evening, a somewhat challenging Venus/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 10:56pm EST.We started to feel this aspect from Thursday evening on; it will be strong until Saturday night. This aspect operates more on an internal level. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice… so we need to develop inner awareness.

Learning to let go of the past means being willing to release relationships we have outgrown. Learning ways to abruptly alter our circumstances without emotional turmoil: This is the way Uranus’s energy urges us to grow. We need freedom within our relationships, not from them.

It's also time to reevaluate the ways we imprison ourselves in protective behaviors and then rebel against them. While "Different" is not always "improved", change is essential to our evolutionary process.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 15-18 degrees of Scorpio or Aries? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Aquarius (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Uranus rules Aquarius)

Saturday is a big day: the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries all day (see Friday afternoon for details).

Mercury enters a 2-week shadow phase today (Saturday), as it reaches almost 15 degree of Capricorn. This precedes the retrograde phase, which will begin on Jan. 5th. If you want to buy, sell or ship big-ticket items -- especially connected to transportation (cars, airline tickets, etc.) or communication devices (phone, computer, iPad, etc.) -- be aware of the shadow periods as well as the retrograde phases.

If possible, get these things done before Mercury enters it's shadow or wait until after the shadow phases are over (in this case: Feb.14th). Of course, if there is something that must get done during these phases, don't put your whole life on hold, just because Mercury is retrograde or in it's shadow. Sometimes things line up exactly at the “right” time. As best as you can, trust your intuition ;-)

Saturday late morning, a harmonious Venus/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 10:26am EST. We started to feel this aspect from Wednesday on, it will be strong until Monday of next week. This brings the ability for compassion and understanding towards others. We are able also to heal some wounds from the past.

We are more willing to be vulnerable, trusting that the other person has our best interest at heart. We also more easily see beauty in human weaknesses, rather than concern ourselves with fault -- it's a strong time for seeing potential in one another.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following placements: 14-20 degrees of Scorpio, Pisces or Cancer? If so, you are more blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra).

Saturday afternoon, a Mercury/Pluto alignment in 14.5 degrees of Capricornbecomes exact at 1:56pm EST. We started feeling it build from Thursday on -- and it will be strong until Monday of next week. With this alignment, an all-or-nothing attitude is very likely. We have tremendous mental focus — which could tip into obsession.

Choose love over fear whenever possible. Connect to the things you feel passionate about -- and connect to others, empowering them with your passions. As best as you can, choose your words carefully -- if possible, speak from that deeply connected and empowered place.

Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 11-18 degrees of Capricorn, Aries, Libra or Cancer? If so, you may feel more connected to this alignment. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Scorpio (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Pluto rules Scorpio)

Lastly, also on Saturday, the Uranus station intensifies until Dec.31st. It will come to a halt on Dec. 25th (next week Friday) after its 5-month retrograde phase. When an outer planet stations, its energy gets more pronounced -- we become more aware of its impact on us -- and this can sometimes cause discomfort. We are being asked to hang out with that discomfort until the planet's energy has picked up speed again (around Jan.5th).

Uranus is all about breaking away from traditional structures, moving towards a new future, a future that serves others as well as ourselves. Keyword: Freedom. We might have flashes of insight or new ideas about what needs to change in our lives. Definitely expect the unexpected.

Uranus also rules electronics, technology and the internet, so don't be surprised if you experience some interruptions or short-term failures in these areas. Group activities are also ruled by Uranus, so these will also be more at the forefront of our awareness. As best as you can, stay open and flexible, go with the flow -- and pay attention to those messages from the Universe ;-)

As best as you can, take a closer look at whatever is "in your face" for the next 2 weeks. Our intuitions will be very strong during this time and we have access to sudden insights and ideas. This gives us the opportunity to take a look to see how free we actually feel.

Are we expressing our individuality to the fullest? Are we connecting to a larger vision? Is anything holding us back? What did you discover about visions and freedoms these past 5 months?

Is your Sun-sign or Ascendant in Aquarius? Or do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 14-19 degrees of Aries, Libra, Capricorn or Cancer? If so, you are more affected by this station.

Sunday: the Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries until 7:13pm EST (see Friday afternoon for details).

Sunday at 5:01pm EST, we enter a  Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for a little over 2-hours, until 7:13pm EST. Use this intuitive time to enjoy some new and exciting activity -- but plan it beforehand (as always with a Moon VoC, try not to start anything brand-new). If that's not possible, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow.

Sunday at 7:13pm EST, the Moon moves into steady, peaceful Taurus, where it will journey until Tuesday evening.

Sunday late evening, a challenging Mercury/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 10:07pm EST. We have been feeling this aspect build from Friday on; it will be strong until Tuesday evening. We'll want to think outside the box, to stretch our thinking. There might be a tendency to act suddenly, without thought or consideration. This aspect could also create some restlessness and unease.

We may feel mental tension, irritation or worry, stemming from a need to rebel or be controversial. Our ideas -- the way we think and communicate -- might feel different or unusual at this time; we may have an urge to break out of obsolete mental patterns.

We could also channel that nervous energy into constructive pursuits. Since we might want to challenge established thought (or play devil's advocate) it helps to get in touch with our inner truth. Take a deep breath every now and again and stay grounded in your body. Turn fear into excitement and drop into your heart… Give your mind the space to re-organize.

We can't expect much of anything during this transit… except the unexpected! Routines and plans will likely face disruption; this could stimulate new approaches. Revelations and breakthroughs are quite likely at this time -- the best mind for dealing with this transit is an open one: As best as you can, go with the flow. Stay open to the new and wonderfully unexpected.

Avoid making major decisions for the time being, especially if they are hasty ;-) You can think of this as "reorganizing" time for the mind, like moving your desk to a new location. Try not to resist the reorganization... Enjoy the ride.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 13-20 degrees of Capricorn, Aries, Cancer or Libra? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Aquarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Uranus rules Aquarius)

A head's up for next Monday: the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all day(see Sunday evening for details). An opportune Mercury/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 8:39am EST. We have been feeling this aspect build from Saturday night on; it will be strong until Tuesday evening of next week. At 11:48pm EST, the Sun changes signs from optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius to practical, accomplishment-oriented, status-oriented Capricorn, where it will journey until Jan. 20th. More about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)
