No Half-Measures -- Astrology Forecast for Mon., Feb. 1st - Sun., Feb. 7th , 2016

Please note that all times given below are Eastern Standard Time -- to change the listed times to your own timezone, I recommend clicking here for the time and date converter

Last week I was interviewed by Alexandra Meadors of Galactic Connection; we had an in-depth conversation about Astrology and what to focus on for 2016. If you have some spare time, check it out (I suggest starting the video at 5:20min. -- that's when the interview really gets started).

This week's headline items: the Jupiter/North Node alignment in Virgo is still going strong; though no longer exact, Uranus and Pluto are still  squared (within 2 degrees of each other); and the Balsamic Moon phase begins on Friday morning.

There will also be three Moon VoC phases this week: Monday evening (for almost 15.5 hours), Thursday early morning (for a little over 14.5 hours), and Saturday late morning (for 14 hours).

Monday: the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day. It will journey there until Tuesday late morning. We feel emotions on a deeply personal level. We are motivated by the desire to get to the bottom of things -- superficiality won't work for us now -- and we instinctively read between the lines.

The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power; it's an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. This tends to be an emotionally colored, all-or-nothing, black or white experience -- it can therefore be an intimate, passionate time. As best as you can, avoid manipulation, brooding and suspicion; instead, open to the wealth of your innermost feelings -- decide to go deeper, allowing all feelings to surface, if they need to.

Embrace all of who you are. Know thyself, love thyself and you shall be set free. Remember: a deep love of all that we are will connect us to the Power within; Fear causes "Force" to show up -- and is ultimately what disempowers ourselves and others. This Moon placement starts the build up towards the last Quarter Moon, exact Sunday late evening…more on that tomorrow…

Monday at 7:35pm EST, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for almost 15.5-hour until 10:50am EST (Tuesday late morning). Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to go deeper with others on an emotional level and get clear on where in your life you stand in service. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan your evening and Tuesday morning ahead of time ;-)

Tuesday at 10:50am EST, the Moon moves into optimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius, where it will journey until Thursday evening. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. The Sagittarius Moon persuades us to come from intuition and think in a broader manner.

We seek meaning and ideas that expand upon the "here and now"; we pursue truth and a new vision -- the big picture, rather than the details. Spontaneity is key, we'd rather improvise than plan; this may tip into just "winging it". We could also overdo or overstate.

The Moon will not make any aspects to other planets until tomorrow early morning -- so today (Tuesday) feels a little bit like a day-long Moon VoC. It is best to go with the flow or explore new daily routines...

Jupiter (the ruler of Sagittarius) is still in alignment with the North Node in 22.5 degrees of Virgo. This alignment will be strong until Feb. 26th. This connections calls us to focus on being of service whenever we can.

When we learn to be honest, orderly, and attentive to details in new ways, we feel more fulfilled and satisfied with our daily routines/work. Taking a bigger view and allowing ourselves to apply practical and technical knowledge and skills in our daily lives will pay off; the same is true of any healthy and practical routines we develop.

We'll feel more alive and optimistic if we pursue mental clarity and focus, together with productivity systems that help us pay attention to deadlines, details -- and wholesome approaches.

It might be difficult to commit ourselves to any one thing, but we need to learn to trust our inner guide—our intuition—in order to uncover more meaning in our daily routines and work schedules. We need to let ourselves believe in something that enriches our daily lives and well-being, and have faith in the growth process of our day-to-day affairs and health issues.

What are some practical steps you could take to feel more self-assured in your daily routines? How can you expand "being of service" -- in small or large ways?

Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Sagittarius? If so, you will feel more influenced by this alignment. If you are a Virgo Sun-sign or Rising-sign, for as long as Jupiter and the North Node are in your sign, you will feel a strong need to grow. You'll also feel the need bring order, clarity and wholesome approaches to your daily routines. -- in fact, this is about setting a healthy example for others.

Wednesday holds lots of opportunities! The Moon remains inoptimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius all day (see Tuesday late morning for details).

Wednesday morning, an opportune Mars/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 5:53am EST. We started to feel this aspect from this last Friday on; it will be strong until this Sunday. This brings an opportunity to connect our personal passions to our Soul's passions. We are resourceful and persistent when pursuing a goal, bringing tremendous effort and focus to bear.

This is an opportunity to be committed, determined and passionate, with no half-measures; it's also an opportunity to feel more confident about our own talents. Strategic thinking and execution is favored right now, as is eliminating waste around time and energy. Remember though: An "opportunity" is just an opening, it's not automatically granted -- we have to "step up" to the opening, then through it...

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 14-18 degrees of Scorpio, Capricorn, Pisces  or Virgo? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Scorpio (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio)

Also, Wednesday morning, an opportune Mercury/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 7:36am EST. We started feeling it build from last Saturday on -- and it will be strong until this Friday. We have an opportunity to bring healing energy to our concrete mind and to our thoughts. We also have a chance to heal insecurities in our verbal, in-person, or email interactions.

We are able to move past harsh criticism of ourselves or others, towards more loving and compassionate structures for thinking and communicating. By bringing love and understanding to our thinking processes, we have a chance to move beyond entrenched habits -- like pushing ourselves really hard, or thinking pessimistically.

What was your family's attitude towards career -- or long-term goals in general? How can you take a gentler approach to your inner dialog now?

Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 17-21 degrees of Capricorn, Pisces, Taurus or Scorpio? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo).

Wednesday early afternoon, an opportune Sun/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 1:17pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from Monday on; it will be strong until Friday. This aspect provides an opportunity to stick to a specific idea and make progress.

We have common sense at our disposal; we are willing to look reality in the eye and take responsibility for our lives. It is also an opportunity to focus on being grounded, authentic and stable. Again, remember: opportunities are openings, they aren't necessarily handed to us -- we have to "take" them and make something of them.

Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 12-16 degreesof Aquarius, Sagittarius, Libra or Aries? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Capricorn (the Sun rules Leo; Saturn rules Capricorn)

Thursday:  the Moon remains inoptimistic, adventurous, truth-seeking Sagittarius until 7:44pm EST (see Tuesday late morning for details).

Thursday early morning, at 5:04am EST, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for a little over 14.5-hours, until 7:44pm EST. You may feel a need for adventure and expansion on one hand, and on the other, an opportunity to reach a new perspective on work (or health issues). Use this intuitive time to make adjustments, and find creative solutions, when it comes to these incompatible energies.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Thursday ahead of time ;-)

Thursday evening, at 7:44pm EST,the Moon moves into practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn, where it will journey until Saturday night/Sunday very early morning. The Capricorn Moon emphasizes our need for structure and forward planning. We are motivated by a desire for success; achievement and manifestation are paramount.

We are resourceful and pursue economy with time, energy, and other resources. We take things more seriously during Moon in Capricorn: we look reality in the eye. This can be a very productive period. As best as you can, avoid "should-ing" on yourself. Take the pressure off: try saying "I am doing the best I can and that's all I can ever do" ;-)

Saturn (ruler of Capricorn) is transiting through Sagittarius right now, making this a great time to explore our beliefs. It's also a great time to focus on the greater meaning of life and for going beyond conditioned thinking structures. As best as you can, be authentic about what you believe: Do your beliefs actually match your direct experience of life -- as it is for you now, not how it was 5 or 10 years ago?

Friday: the Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn all day (see Thursday evening for details).

Friday morning, we enter the Balsamic Moon phase: this lasts until Monday morning, when the New Moon in Aquarius becomes exact (…more on that next week). We are being asked to slow down and get quiet, so we can listen to our intuition. For some of us, this might be a stretch. As best as you can: stay grounded, take a deep breath and exhale any tensions.

Rather than starting something brand-new, put all that energy into completing existing projects. This is also a great time for letting go of whatever no longer serves us. What if you could hear the voice of your inner wisdom? What might it be saying?

Friday early afternoona somewhat challenging Mars/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 12:31pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from Wednesday night on; it will be strong until Saturday night. We feel uneasy about something, almost awkward -- and we need to make a choice. An inner awareness needs to be developed in order to see what needs adjusting.

We may want something different than the rest of society; this in itself is neutral. That said, frustrations could arise, because the way we express our unique desires goes against the expectations of others; in other words, our methods don't necessarily achieve our goals. Going for "quick wins" will require for us to start over -- as best as you can, hold to a course of action for a little longer than may be comfortable.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 16-18 degrees of Scorpio or Aries? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Aquarius (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Uranus rules Aquarius ).

Friday evening, a Venus/Pluto alignment in 16 degrees of Capricorn becomes exact at 8:15pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from Wednesday on; it will be strong until Monday of next week. This alignment brings out our passionate side. We uncompromisingly seek deep, totally authentic connections with others. As this aspect is also part of a square to Uranus (exact on Saturday), we are going to feel some stress/tension here… but also quite energized.

Our instincts are very strong right now, our inner wolf is wide-awake, and we can sniff out any unclean intentions right away. As best as you can, be completely truthful about your motivations and needs – if you try to duck this, it could get ugly, since everyone knows what everyone else is up to anyway.

What if you took 100% responsibility for getting what you want and need? What is the highest path to achieve that? As best as you can, find creative solutions and remain flexible. And as always when Pluto is involved, choose the power of love over the power of fear -- whenever possible.

Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 13-19 degrees of Capricorn, Aries, Cancer or Libra? If so, you will feel this alignment quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Scorpio (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Pluto rules Scorpio)

Saturday is a big day!The Moon remains in practical, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn all day (see Thursday evening for details).

Saturday at 10:54am EST, we enter a 14-hour Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts until 12:59am EST (Saturday night/Sunday very early morning). Use this intuitive time to expand your horizons, especially when it comes to your daily routines. Use what you learn to further your long-term goals. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan your evening and Sunday morning ahead of time ;-)

Saturday late morning, an opportune Sun/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 11:39am EST. We started to feel this from Thursday on; it will be strong until Monday of next week. We have the opportunity to become aware of an original or unique approach to life. Flexibility is the key to success at this time; pleasant changes may be in store -- certainly unexpected ones ;-)

What is your uniqueness? How could you express that proudly and authentically? As best as you can, watch out for messages from the Universe! Remember: an opportunity is not automatically given to us: We have to "realize" it.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 15-19 degrees of Aquarius, Aries, Gemini or Sagittarius? If so, you will be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Aquarius (the Sun rules Leo; Uranus rules Aquarius)

Saturday early afternoon, a harmonious Mercury/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 1:45pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from Wednesday on, it will be strong until Tuesday of next week

Due to Mercury’s retrograde phase, this is actually the third time we have experienced this aspect within the last six weeks; we are invited to look back to the the week around Dec. 25th and Jan. 11th, to see what thoughts and ideas developed at that time. What did we communicate to others? To ourselves? About life and our state of well-being?

Internally, we are more optimistic and realistic, which is good, since we see the bigger picture, communicate more positively and readily inspire others. We are tolerant of other perspectives and ideas, naturally avoid narrow-minded thinking, and feel at ease reconnecting with people from all walks of life.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 19-25 degrees of Capricorn, Virgo or Taurus? If so, you will feel most blessed by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Jupiter of Sagittarius).

Saturday late afternoon, a challenging Venus/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 5:03pm EST. We started to feel this aspect from Thursday on; it will be strong until Monday night of next week. This "stretch" aspect asks us to grow beyond what we know and have experienced in the past, in regards to our relationships (especially business partnerships).

Priorities may shift at this time and we may experience clashes in taste or values with those we respect. As you can imagine, we may feel some instability or restlessness in connection to others. We may struggle with freedom versus material safety at this time. We may also experience fears around our financial goals at this time. As best as you can, take a deep breath and hold off on decision-making with regards to finances -- in particular, it is best to avoid impulse buys at this time.

In general, expect the unexpected. Things may take a different turn now, when it comes to what is truly important. Keep your mind and heart open: if something needs to be eliminated or changed at this time, it was waiting for that shift to happen anyway. This aspect is also connected to the Pluto/Uranus square, so we'll likely feel tense, but energized: As best as you can, find creative solutions and stay flexible/adaptable. This is not the best time to take things too personally.

Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 14-20 degrees of Capricorn, Aries, Cancer or Libra? If so, you may be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Aquarius (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Uranus rules Aquarius)

Sunday very early morning, at 12:59am EST,  the Moon moves into freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius, where it will journey until Tuesday early morning. The energy of the Aquarian Moon relates to our instinct for improvement. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional; interactions more impersonal than personal. We are likely to have an increased fascination with the new and unusual.

Social gatherings, anything connected with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas and methods, progress: all these are promoted during the time the Moon moves through Aquarius. Again: we have our eyes on the future -- or on outer space :-) Personal freedom becomes paramount.

Sunday morning, a challenging Sun/Mars aspect becomes exact at 7:08am EST. We started to feel this aspect from Thursday on; it will be strong until this Wednesday of next week. This invites us to stretch ourselves and grow beyond what we know ourselves to be.

We might feel driven by a restless desire to do something; however, without a well-defined future goal we tend towards impulsive actions and get ourselves into needless arguments. Our reactions might be defensive or competitive. We might not be willing to compromise or negotiate. However, energy output can run high if we choose to focus. As best as you can, take care of your body and pay attention to its needs.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 15-21 degrees of Aquarius, Scorpio, Taurus or Leo? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Aries (the Sun rules Leo; Mars is the ruler of Aries)

Sunday late morning, an opportune Venus/Mars aspect becomes exact at 10:01am EST. We started to feel this aspect from Friday on; it will be strong until Monday night of next week. This aspect brings an opportunity for success and ease in close personal interactions. We are more likely to feel passionate and sexy. We may make permanent ties or relationships that prove to be fruitful.

This could also be a good time for financial ventures, social life, artistic pursuits, romance, and pleasure. Remember: this is an "opportunity" -- those aren't necessarily handed to us, we have to make them happen.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (MC) or any personal planets in 16-20 degrees of Capricorn, Scorpio, Virgo or Pisces? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Aries (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Mars is the ruler of Aries)

As Sunday is also the last day before the New Moon becomes exact, this is a great day to let go of what no longer serves us. As best as you can, avoid jumping the gun: Rather than launching into brand-new endeavors or connections, wait until a couple of days has passed after the New Moon. Some of us might feel a little anxious or nervous today: As best as you can, get quiet and go within… Listen to the silence between the sounds… Find peace in the connection with your innermost and truest Self.

A head's up for next Monday: the Moon remains in freedom-loving, forward-thinking Aquarius all day (see Sunday very early morning for details). In the early morning,an opportune Venus/Chiron aspectbecomes exact at 4:38am EST.We started to feel this aspect from Saturday on; it will be strong until Tuesday night of next week.At 9:39am EST, the New Moon in 19 degrees of Aquarius becomes exact. More about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)

Tremendous Mental Focus -- Astrology Forecast for Mon., Jan. 25th - Sun., Jan. 31st, 2016

Please note that all times given below are Eastern Standard Time -- to change the listed times to your own timezone, I recommend clicking here for the time and date converter

Last week was an interesting mix; something that came up quite a bit was this apparently intrinsic desire to ask "Why?" a lot. As a child I was very big on asking my parents "why" - questions, usually with no success. A teacher of mine once said: "Whys aren't wise" and I took offense to that, since I have a very curious nature and my history of frustrating, sometimes even painful interactions/ conversations with my parents seemed to be justified.

I wrote it off as: "we have to agree to disagree"... Until, I spoke to my dear friend Kathy, who said something very powerful to me: "Whys in connection with human behavior (including our own) are connected to wanting to blame. They disempower us, because when we are looking to blame someone/something, we are giving our power away." Now THAT made sense to me :-)

This week's headline items: Mercury comes to a halt on Monday afternoon; the Mercury station ends on Friday; on Saturday, Chiron moves over the degree of the upcoming Solar Eclipse (the Eclipse will be in March). Finally, the last Quarter Moon in Scorpio becomes exact on Sunday late evening.

There will also be three Moon VoC phases this week: Monday all day (until 10:46pm EST), Wednesday evening (for almost 15 hours), and Friday evening (for almost 26.5 hours -- until Saturday late evening).

Monday: the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo and VoC until 10:46pm EST.Take it easy in the morning and go with the flow today as much as possible.

Monday at 4:50pm EST, Mercury comes to a halt in almost 15 degrees of Capricorn and slowly starts its direct motionafter its 3-week retrograde phase. As best as you can, go with the flow, keep an open mind and pay attention to anything that is in your face right now -- you may need to address those issues again, when Mercury moves through its shadow phase…more on that later.

We are slowly ready to shift our focus back towards the outer world again, taking in new information and sharing from a new perspective. What did you learn about your inner dialog over the past 3 weeks? How can you share your newly found inner understanding in a healthy way with the world? What needs to be addressed regarding long-term goals, realistic/authentic ways of approaching communications, and any new-found understanding of our own thinking structures?

When Mercury gets back to its regular speed (by Jan.29th), communication and transportation will get back to normal; the same is true of any associated gadgets, vehicles, etc.

Some of us will feel the effects of this station more than others: those of us with Gemini or Virgo as our Sun- or Rising-Sign (Ascendant) -- and those of us with personal planets (or angles) in 13-17 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries or Libra.

As you may recall, I mentioned Mercury shadow phases in this update a few weeks back: If you want to buy, sell or ship big-ticket items, it's best to avoid the periods shortly before and after Mercury goes retrograde. This is especially true if the items are connected to transportation (cars, plane tickets, etc.) or communication (phone, computer, iPad, etc.) This particular shadow phase ends on Feb.15thClick here to read my blog on the subject.

Monday at 10:46pm EST, the Moon moves into detail-oriented, practical Virgo, where it will journey until Thursday morning. This turns our focus toward practical activities -- reorganizing and rethinking our plans, perhaps. Solving problems, making order out of confusion, helping others: all of these bring emotional satisfaction.

Health matters might come into focus. We notice the parts that make up the whole; this is a great time to look at our daily routines (eating, work, self-care, etc.), to see if they are in alignment with our long-term goals.

Tuesday: the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day (see Monday morning for details).

Tuesday morning (around 5am EST): we can tackle anything that requires attention to detail -- and perhaps implement health routines that support our long-term goals. Business connections and practical collaborations flow easily.

In the late morning (around 10:30am EST),we may need to make some adjustments, and think outside the box. Flexibility and adaptability are key today, given that we may experience an inner discomfort between two seemingly irreconcilable forces: Our vision of a better future, versus our need to stay connected to the practical and wholesome.

Tuesday afternoon (around 3pm EST): We are asked to pursue a balance between rationality and intuition. As best as you can, allow your rational mind to be of service to your heart, to what feels "right". There is also value now in bringing compassion and openness to our need for perfection and practical improvements.

Tuesday late evening (around 11pm EST): We get an opportunity to take focused actions rooted in reality and clarity. Performing research is a great match for this energy ;-)

Wednesday: the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day (see Monday morning for details).

Wednesday morning (around 5am EST): We start the day off with lots of productive energy, have our feet on the ground, and are "going for it". In the late morning (around 11am EST), we are being asked to seek a balance between the mind -- the need to understand rationally -- and our healing process (which we need to understand intuitively and emotionally -- and that needs our compassion, acceptance and forgiveness).

Wednesday at 7:11pm EST we enter a Moon void of course (VoC) that lasts almost 15-hours, until 9:59am EST (Thursday mid morning). Use this intuitive time to take the bigger view on your health routines (and daily routines in general). Enjoy looking at the systems that you have in place to make routines more efficient, both at home and at work.

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan your evening and Thursday morning ahead of time ;-)

Thursday: the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo and VoC until 9:59am EST (see Monday morning and Wednesday evening for details).

Thursday at 9:59am EST, the Moon moves into harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra, where it will journey until Saturday late evening. The energy of the Libra Moon wants to maintain equal relationships: we thus tend to spend more time on diplomacy -- making compromises, negotiating, practicing graciousness, balancing, etc.

We can better set aside our emotions, to achieve the peace we desire; the shadow side of this is a tendency to avoid direct confrontations. We see both sides -- and may also fear loss of approval -- so we can't decide. As best as you can, find your inner balance with this... and communicate what needs to be said with grace and charm.

Friday: the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra all day (see Thursday morning for details).

Mercury resumes its normal pace through the sky today (Friday), ending its station: Communication and transportation is now back to “normal”, as are any associated gadgets, vehicles, etc. New ideas and information received during the Mercury retrograde phase (Jan. 5th -- 25th) can now be reviewed -- What could you do with that now?

Friday at 8:34pm we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for almost 26.5-hours until 10:50pm EST (Saturday late evening). Use this intuitive time to find a balance between your unique vision for life and your need for approval and collaboration. As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan your evening and Saturday Day ahead of time ;-)

Saturday: the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra and VoC until 10:50pm EST (see Thursday morning and Friday evening for details). As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow.

Friday night/Saturday very early morning, a Mercury/Pluto alignment in 16 degrees of Capricorn becomes exact at 12:58am EST. We started feeling it build for an unusually long time, from Jan. 18th on -- and it will remain strong until Feb. 3rd, due to Mercury's retrograde/station. This aspect is now exact for the third time in the past 40 days. We are invited to look back to the week around Dec. 19th and to last week, to see what long-term plans we thought about at those times, that align with something we feel deeply passionate about.

With this alignment, an all-or-nothing attitude is very likely. We have tremendous mental focus — which could tip into obsession. Choose love over fear whenever possible. Connect to the things you feel passionate about -- and connect to others, empowering them with your passions. As best as you can, choose your words carefully -- if possible, speak from that deeply connected and empowered place.

Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 13-19 degrees of Capricorn, Aries, Libra or Cancer? If so, you may feel more connected to this alignment. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Scorpio (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Pluto rules Scorpio)

Also on Saturday, for the first half of the day (until 3pm EST)Chiron moves over the degree of the upcoming Solar Eclipse (18 degrees 42' of Pisces).Any issues of insecurity or past wounding that come up now will need to be addressed in the 5.5 months following March 8th's Solar Eclipse.

The key here is to build awareness, to see what needs to be released/redefined, that is not longer in alignment with our Soul's Journey (our evolution). This helps us get more in touch with our limitations and humanity -- and bring love, kindness and compassion towards them.

What about your own humanity is asking for your love, forgiveness, understanding, acceptance? Think of one of your "limitations" or "flaws": What if it made you unique? What has it taught you?

Saturday late morning, an opportune Venus/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 11:44am EST. We started to feel this aspect from Thursday on; it will be strong until this Sunday. This is an opportunity for compassion and kindness in our social and work-related interactions. We are more attuned to the subtleties of human interaction, and are more inclined to naturally cooperate with others.

We tend to "feel" each other on an energetic level now, a sensitive approach is therefore recommended. This is also an opportunity for imaginative or romantic interactions. Remember: opportunities are openings; they aren't necessarily handed to us -- we have to "take" them and make something of them.

Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 6-10 degrees of Capricorn, Pisces, Scorpio or Taurus? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Pisces (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Neptune rules Pisces).

Saturday late evening at 10:50pm EST, the Moon moves into passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will journey until Tuesday morning.

Sunday: The Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day (see Saturday for details).

On Sunday at 10:28pm EST, the last Quarter Moon in 11 degrees of Scorpio becomes exact. We started to feel this aspect from the moment the Moon entered Scorpio on Saturday evening. The Moon in deep-feeling Scorpio is making a challenging aspect to the Sun in emotionally detached Aquarius. This may bring up some challenges. However, it also energizes us to look at what needs to be completed -- and what needs to be changed.

This Moon phase brings us closer to the next New Moon (Feb.8th). With the last Quarter Moon, rather than starting major new projects, it serves us take a look at what was started around the time of the last New Moon -- in this case, around Jan. 9th. We now have about a week to wrap those projects up. What -- if anything -- needs last-minute adjustments? What did you discover since Jan. 9th? What did it mean for you?

As best as you can, find creative solutions for anything that comes up, whether internally or with others.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 9-14 degrees of Aquarius, Scorpio, Leo or Taurus? If so, you are more affected by this month's last Quarter Moon. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer, since the Sun rules Leo and the Moon rules Cancer.

Sunday late eveninga challenging Mercury/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 10:41pm EST. We have been feeling this aspect build for an unusually long time, from Jan. 17th on; it will be strong until Feb. 4th, due to Mercury's retrograde/station. This aspect is now exact for the third time in the last 40 days; we are again invited to look back to the the weeks around Dec. 20th and last week, this time to see what thoughts and future insights came to us.

We'll want to think outside the box, to stretch our thinking. There might be a tendency to act suddenly, without thought or consideration. This aspect could also create some restlessness and unease.

We may feel mental tension, irritation or worry, stemming from a need to rebel or be controversial. Our ideas -- the way we think and communicate -- might feel different or unusual at this time; we may have an urge to break out of obsolete mental patterns.

We could also channel that nervous energy into constructive pursuits. Since we might want to challenge established thought (or play devil's advocate) it helps to get in touch with our inner truth. Take a deep breath every now and again and stay grounded in your body. Turn fear into excitement and drop into your heart… Give your mind the space to re-organize.

We can't expect much of anything during this transit… except the unexpected! Routines and plans will likely face disruption; this could stimulate new approaches. Revelations and breakthroughs are quite likely at this time -- the best mind for dealing with this transit is an open one: As best as you can, go with the flow. Stay open to the new and wonderfully unexpected.

Avoid making major decisions for the time being, especially if they are hasty ;-) You can think of this as "reorganizing" time for the mind, like moving your desk to a new location. Try not to resist the reorganization... Enjoy the ride.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 14-20 degrees of Capricorn, Aries, Cancer or Libra? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Aquarius (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Uranus rules Aquarius)

A head's up for next Monday: the Moon remains in passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio all day (see Saturday for details). At 7:35pm EST, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for almost 15.5-hour until 10:50am EST (Tuesday late morning). More about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)

This was me, last week: Work, healing, fun, creativity, serious conversations, making new connections, love and affection, impatience, restlessness, annoyances, feelings of all kinds, resting, self-care, laundry... lots of different activities and experiences... Let's see: did I leave anything out? How was your week?

This week's headline items: the Sun changes signs from Capricorn to Aquarius on Wednesday in the late morning; also on Wednesday, Mercury starts to slow down again (getting ready to move direct again next week); Jupiter aligns with the Moon's North Node on Saturday morning; Venus changes signs from Sagittarius to Capricorn on Saturday afternoon and the Full Moon in Leo becomes exact on Saturday evening.

There will also be four Moon VoC phases this week: Tuesday very early morning (for almost 2.5 hours), Thursday very early morning (for almost 5.5 hours), Saturday very early morning (for 13 hours), and Sunday late evening (for almost 25 hours).

Monday: the Moon remains in steady, peaceful Taurus all dayIt will journey there until Tuesday morning. With the Moon in Taurus, we seek serenity, security, peace, comfort: The Moon is at her most sensual and constant in Taurus.

Our basic impulse is to relax, resist change, get comfortable: Life… slows… down... We may also be stubborn and materialistic under this influence. As best you can, stop and smell the roses during this time -- enjoy life and its offerings ;-)

Monday in the wee morning hours, a challenging Venus/Jupiter aspect becomes exact at 12:10am EST. We started to feel this aspect from last Friday on, it will be strong until this Wednesday. This aspect asks that we question our most fundamental beliefs and conditioning around money and relationships.

We have the opportunity here to grow beyond our understanding of what our values get us. Issues connected to love, relationships, and whatever is most valuable to us, can seem overwhelming at this time. This is because we have a tendency to overindulge or over-promise.

We mean well, because we are feeling quite optimistic at this time -- but we may underestimate how much time we actually have, or how good a fit something actually is. Overspending, overindulging and over-promising could be connected to this aspect as well (as could making assumptions in our relationships); as best as you can, bring a non-judgmental awareness to any such tendencies.

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 20-26 degrees of Sagittarius, Virgo, Pisces or Gemini? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Sagittarius (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius).

Monday morninga harmonious Mars/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 6:01am EST. We started to feel this aspect from last Thursday on; it will be strong until this Friday. This aspect brings the ability to endow what we feel passionate about with our creativity -- and connect it to a higher love.

Our animalistic nature is able to connect to compassion and understanding. We can now bring light to all of our inner dark places; through loving ourselves, we can transform that darkness into the gift of feeling powerfully connected to ourselves.

As this aspect is taking place in Scorpio and Pisces, we are connecting to our goals and dreams from an emotional place that is deeply spiritual and transformational. We are able to let go of our fears and attachments and are able to have faith that everything will turn out just as it needs to.

Those of us who have their Ascendent (or personal planets) in 5-11 degrees of Scorpio, Pisces or Cancer will be touched in a particularly beautiful way by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Aries or Pisces (Mars is the ruler of Aries; Neptune rules Pisces)

Tuesday very early morning, an opportune Mercury/Chiron aspect becomes exact at 1:30am EST. We have been feeling this aspect build from last Saturday on; it will be strong until this Thursday. Due to Mercury’s retrograde, we are experiencing this aspect for the second time within the past 4 weeks; we are invited to look back to the week around Dec. 20th, to see what thoughts and triggers we experienced at that time.

Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 16-20 degrees of Capricorn, Pisces, Taurus or Scorpio? If so, you may be more aware of this opportunity. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo).

Tuesday at 1:50am we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts almost 2.5-hours, until 4:13am EST. If you are awake at this time, enjoy beauty and nature, or connect with others over a yummy meal. Most of all, though: Keep it real! As with all Moon VoCs, do not start anything brand-new; stick to routine things, or go with the flow... 'cos the flow knows where to go ;-)

Tuesday at 4:13am EST, the Moon moves into chatty, versatile Gemini, where it will journey until Thursday morning. The Gemini Moon keeps us social and busy. Interactions may take place online, on the phone, or face-to-face with those in our immediate environment. With this Moon placement, we like to multitask and stay engaged with life as much as possible: As long as we don't get bored, we're good.

With Mercury retrograde right now, we may need to slow things down a little, tapping into all these interactions from a more intuitive place. Rather than initiating new contacts, consider reconnecting with old friends or former business associates; it’s also probably best to revisit conversations from the past three to four weeks.

Wednesday: the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini all day (see Tuesday early morning for details). With Mercury retrograde right now, we may need to slow things down a little, tapping into all these interactions from a more intuitive place. Rather than initiating new contacts, consider reconnecting with old friends or former business associates; it’s also probably best to revisit conversations from the past three to four weeks.

Wednesday at 10:27am EST, the Sun changes signs from practical, cautious, accomplishment-oriented Capricorn to freedom-loving, forward-thinking and objective Aquarius, where it will journey until Feb. 19th. For the next four weeks, we have advancement and progress in our hearts.

We want to get off the beaten path, leaving behind old and outdated ways of thinking and doing, throwing off personal and social conditioning – those restrictions, limitations and inhibitions that may once have felt safe, but now feel constraining.

Our idealism runs strong, but we can have some fixed ideas about how we want to accomplish these ideals – although we are open to new ideas in theory, in practice we may actually be quite stubborn. Finally, we are also definitely more aware of the impact each individual has on the whole of society.

All this is especially true if you are a Leo or Aquarius Sun-sign or Rising-sign. As an Aquarius, you will feel a good dose of confidence and playfulness in the next four weeks; as a Leo, you are more objective than usual…working towards a vision for the future might be just the thing for you to do.

Wednesday afternoon, a challenging Mercury/Uranus aspect becomes exact at 1:26pm EST. We have been feeling this aspect build from last Sunday on; it will be strong for an unusually long time (until Feb. 4th), due to Mercury's retrograde/station. This aspect is now exact for the second time in the past 30 days. We are again invited to look back to the the week around Dec. 20th, this time to see what thoughts and future insights we experienced at that time.

Lastly, also on Wednesday, Mercury starts to slow down again (“stationing”). It’s getting ready to come to a halt, ending its 3-week retrograde phase, on Monday of next week, Jan. 25th (more on that next week…). For the next 13 days (until Jan 29th), we need to be patient with ourselves and others -- especially if there is a connection with communication or transportation, and their associated technologies. This is not the best time to start anything brand-new, especially if it contains new information that needs to be processed.

We might experience delays or misunderstandings, and things tend to feel "off" or stagnant. It might be a good idea to give yourself some extra time to get ready for travel somewhere -- especially if you intend to use public transportation or drive (For more details on Mercury Shadow Phases and Retrogrades, click here)

Some of us will feel the effects of this station more than others: those of us with Gemini or Virgo as our Sun- or Rising-Sign (Ascendant) -- and those of us with personal planets (or angles) in 13-17 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries or Libra.

Thursday: the Moon remains in chatty, versatile Gemini until 8:28am EST (see Tuesday early morning for details).

Thursday at 3:01am EST we enter a  Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts almost 5.5-hour until 8:28am EST. This is an intuitive time -- if you are awake, try using intuition to balance two desires: The desire to share yourself within your community, and the desire to explore the “larger truth” within your relationships. As always during VoC, take it easy -- go with the flow and avoid starting anything brand-new.

Thursday at 8:28am EST, the Moon moves into  protective, introverted  Cancerwhere it will journey until Saturday afternoon. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say to (and about) us, so be kind to yourself and others.

Emotional safety is important to us at this time: We like connecting to the familiar, home or family becomes our sanctuary. Nurture yourself and others, but remember: Make sure your glass is filled before letting others drink from it — otherwise we might start resenting others for draining our energies.

Friday: the Moon remains in protective, introverted Cancer all day (see Thursday morning for details).

Friday morning, a Mercury/Pluto alignment in almost 16 degrees of  Capricorn becomes exact at 4:59am EST. We started feeling it build from Monday on -- and it will remain strong for an unusually long time (until Feb.3rd), due to Mercury's retrograde/station. This aspect is now exact for the second time in the past 30 days. We are invited to look back to the the week around Dec. 19th, to see what long-term plans we made at that time that align with something we feel deeply passionate about.

Do you have your Ascendent, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 13-19 degrees of Capricorn, Aries, Libra or CancerIf so, you may feel more connected to this alignment. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Scorpio (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Pluto rules Scorpio)

Also worth mentioning today (Friday): tomorrow morning, a long-term alignment between Jupiter and the Moon's North Node in 23 degrees of Virgo becomes exact at 5:23am EST. We started feeling it build from Dec. 27th on -- and it will be strong until Feb.

Lots going on today (Saturday)! The Moon remains in protective, introverted Cancer until 2:21pm EST (see Thursday morning for details).

Saturday very early morning, at 1:21am EST we enter a 13-hour Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts until 2:21pm EST. Use this intuitive time as an opportunity to be of service and nurture yourself. As best as you can, help yourself and others through precise actions and down-to-earth support -- especially around finding clarity around health and daily routines. Plan your day ahead of time, or stick to routine things; if that's not going to work, simply go with the flow.

Saturday afternoon, at 2:21pm EST, the Moon moves into fun and attention-loving Leowhere it will journey until Monday evening. We have a chance to appreciate ourselves and our lives -- and to connect to the heart. Hand out as many compliments as possible, they will be deeply appreciated :-)

Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones. What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you squeak just thinking about it? This also starts the energetic build up towards the Full Moon (exact later this evening).

Also on Saturday afternoon, at 3:31pm EST, Venus changes signs from optimistic, adventurous Sagittarius to realistic, prestige-and-accomplishment-oriented CapricornVenus will be traveling through Capricorn until Feb. 16th. With this placement, our relationships tend to more practical in nature: We see people for who they are and are not afraid to lay the facts on the table; we take things more seriously.

We take our time warming up to others, appreciate maturity in relationships, and can make long-term commitments. There is a strong focus on business relationships. Venus is also connected to finances and the things we value; it’s therefore a perfect time to get serious and make long-term plans in these areas: As best as you can, get real about what comes in and what goes out ;-)

Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra? If so, you will feel more serious and focused for the next 4 weeks; your heart will want to make practical, attainable long-term plans. If you are a Capricorn Sun-sign or Rising-sign, for as long as Venus is in your sign, you will attract more love, abundance and beauty into your life.

Saturday evening, at 8:46pm ESTthis month's Full Moon (in 3 degrees of Leobecomes exact. As mentioned above, this afternoon saw the entrance of the Moon into Leo, starting the energetic build up toward the Full Moon; relationships of all kinds are highlighted.

With the Sun in Aquarius during the next two weeks, we seek balance, being more aware than ever that something needs aligning. The balance in question is between the Aquarius-Leo polarity.

Aquarius represents a unique vision and approach to life. The classic Aquarian vision is one of interconnected equality — paradoxically, we're reminded at the same time that the power of unity lies in diversity. Leo, on the other hand, is all about our individual self-expression, creativity, ability to connect to the heart, inner joy.

This Full Moon reminds us that everyone has the power to make a difference in the world (small or large); when we join together, that power gets exponentially bigger: 3+3 becomes 3x3, 4+4 becomes 4x4, etc. If we want to see a greater shift in the world at large (Aquarius), we must each do our own part and share our unique gifts (Leo).

Uranus (the ruler of Aquarius) is making a square to the Pluto/Mercury alignment in Capricorn, inviting us to be more honest with ourselves and others (especially about our fears and desires). We are also invited to be more open to new ways of thinking, doing, and achieving -- in fact, to bring an innovative approach to who we are -- and to communicate honestly and authentically what we are here to achieve.

In other words: Step it up -- and walk your unique path. Life is too short to be wasted on things you are less than fully passionate about, that don't fully express your uniqueness. What would you rather say on your deathbed: "It was a long, exciting, multi-faceted road, well worth living" or "It was what it was... I missed out because I was afraid"?

Mercury is exalted in the sky at the time of this Full Moon. It is getting ready to once again change its direction (ending its retrograde phase). This brings an emphasis to our thinking processes and what we communicate. It is important that we think and speak truthfully and mindfully, as each thought and word creates an energetic resonance -- a vibration that seeks matching vibrations.

We are learning that we are responsible for what we put out and receive in return. What if you paid 5% more attention to what you think and say about yourself? Others? The world around you?

With this Full Moon, we are encouraged to get out of our comfort zones, and acknowledge that we are all in this together... And of course, getting out of our comfort zones means that we might get uncomfortable for a little bit. To learn more about this month's Full Moon, please click here to watch my video. (will be posted by Wednesday evening).

For this Full Moon you could ask yourself: Where could I add my voice, vision and gifts? What is my role at this pivotal time? Remember: No effort is too small, no step too little... And most of all: it's never too late to make a difference!

Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 1-5 degrees of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus or Scorpio? If so, you are more affected by this month's Full Moon. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer (the Sun rules Leo; the Moon rules Cancer).

Sunday: the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo all day (see Saturday afternoon for details).

Sunday at 9:51pm EST we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for almost 25-hours, until 10:46pm EST (Monday late evening). Use this intuitive time to have fun and explore something new that doesn't necessarily have a specific outcome ;-) You could express your unique spark through creativity or via enjoyment of a physical activity (you may want to do this with other people).

As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan all of Monday ahead of time ;-)

Another thing for Sunday, as you go through the day, do your best to bear in mind that Mercury will come to a halt tomorrow afternoon (Monday); this may bring some frustrations and stagnations for the next three days around things connected to the Mercury energy (travel, transportation, communication and its devices, mail, etc.)

A head's up for next Monday: the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo and VoC until 10:46pm EST (see Saturday afternoon and Sunday evening for details). Take it easy in the morning and go with the flow today as much as possible.  At 4:50pm ESTMercury comes to a halt in 15 degrees of Capricorn and slowly starts its direct motionafter its 3-week retrograde phaseand at 10:46pm EST, the Moon moves into detail-oriented, practical Virgowhere it will journey until Thursday morning of next week. More about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)
