Last week was exciting and full of zip -- no doubt that was the Uranus station.
I was really active physically and had much more social interaction than usual. This felt very unusual to me, as I usually spend a lot of time working from home (and connect with my clients via skype and phone).
I'm sure the Mercury/Uranus Trine we had last week had a lot to do with connecting in unusual ways with others... and of course, all the Leo planets love to express themselves and have some fun with others too -- I definitely felt self-expressed this past week :-)
Underneath it all, there was a sense of anxiousness or mental restlessness -- I wanted to move forward and accomplish more; for me, this felt connected to the Saturn Station.

This week's headline items: Mars re-enters Sagittarius on Tuesday morning, the New Moon in Leo becomes exact Tuesday afternoon Venus changes signs from Leo to Virgo (Friday late morning). Saturn's Station intensifies Friday night,Mercury moves over the Solar Eclipse degree from Sept.1st on Saturday morning, we can start to take actions on our New Moon Intentions on Sunday.
There will also be three Moon VoC phases this week: Monday evening (for almost 30 minutes), Wednesday night/Thursday very early morning (a little over 3 hours), and Friday late evening (just over 13.5 hours).
Monday (August 1st): the Moon remains in protective, introverted Canceruntil 9:12pm EDT. With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say, so our feelings are more easily hurt -- be kind to yourself and others (self-care is key for today ;-)
In fact, emotional safety is important -- we prefer the familiar (e.g. home and family) and enjoy nurturing ourselves and others. That said, make sure your glass is full before letting others drink from it, or you might start to feel "drained" and resentful.
Monday morning, a somewhat challenging Venus/Chiron aspectbecomes exact at 4:30am EDT; we've been feeling this aspect since early morning on Sunday and will continue to do so until Tuesday morning. This aspect operates more on an internal level; we feel uneasy about something, sort of awkward and have a choice to make. The internal nature of this demands inner awareness.
The "awkwardness" may be felt in social situations; we may be unsure whether to seek admiration and love, or turn inward to lick old wounds. We must make a choice regarding a personal relationship, a purchase, or our self-image. The good news is, by embracing our own humanity, we might be able to create some healing for ourselves and others.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 23-25 degrees of Leo or Pisces? Or perhaps your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra)? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect.
Monday early afternoon,a harmonious Sun/Saturn aspect becomes exact at 1:49pm EDT.We started to feel this aspect from last Friday evening on; it will be strong until this Thursday evening.
Commitment and discipline are the keys to understanding our heart's desire right now. We face life on life's terms and feel up to doing so (especially when it comes to our creative self-expression). What could we achieve if we brought 5% more joy to our long-term plans?
Paradoxically, we can also bring a more mature approach to exploring our "inner child" energy. How might a supportive "inner parent" help your "inner child" feel safe to play?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 7-13 degrees of Leo, Sagittarius or Aries? Or your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Capricorn (the Sun rules Leo; Saturn rules Capricorn)? If either of those is true, you can expect to be more blessed by this aspect :-)
On Monday at 8:44pm, we enter a half-hour Moon void of course (VoC) (it lasts until 9:12pm EDT); use this brief VoC to take a break and connect to loved ones. Allow yourself to be vulnerable and emotionally authentic. As always with a Moon VoC, don't start anything brand-new if you don't have to -- stick to your routine, or just go with the flow.
Monday at 9:12pm EDT, the Moon moves into fun and attention-loving Leo, where it will journey until Thursday very early morning. We may lack objectivity and struggle with backing down or compromising.
We all love to be admired -- or at the very least acknowledged -- for our greatness :-) So hand out some compliments -- let people know how proud you are of them, tell them how much you love them. Come from the heart with this and all other things... be honest, authentic.
Fun, games and romance are a big part of this energy as well. You might also enjoy spending time with little ones. If there are no "outer children" around, how about getting in touch with your "inner child" -- it's definitely easier for the next two days. What are you most grateful for today? What would be heaps and heaps of fun? What would be so much fun, you let out a tiny squeak, just thinking of it?
Tuesday (Aug. 2nd): the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo all day (see Monday late evening for details).
Regular readers may remember that Mars entered adventurous Sagittarius on March 5th -- but its retrograde movement then took it back into passionate Scorpio. On Tuesday at 1:49pm EDT, it returns to Sagittarius and will journey there until Sept. 27th.
We are probably going to feel restless or impatient at times -- this will likely manifest as a desire to explore or even travel. If we can't go on a trip, learning about other cultures and belief systems could substitute. This also a great time to get into sports or athletic activities (we have lots of energy).
We also have lots of ideas and interests, so many that we can't just stick to one thing, and end up with multiple projects running. We find ideas and ideologies fascinating and compelling, so we welcome juicy debates with others, especially when we can bring them around to our point of view.
It's not the best time to get too serious about life, as we prefer to feel free-flowing and excited about new things -- especially when we can learn something new. One way we try to keep the fun-and-adventure levels high is by improvising and "winging it".
Of course, this doesn't go on forever: Saturn is also in Sagittarius and Mars moves closer to it from mid-August until early September. As that happens we will have to to slow down a little, commit to a course of action, and get more serious about what we believe. We will also have to get real about what we can actually achieve and take responsibility for how we move forward -- this stage is about legwork, not winging it :-)
If you have an Aries Sun-sign or Rising-sign, you are going to feel more adventurous and probably more impatient. You may want to explore new sports or physical activities. If you are a Sagittarius Sun-sign or Rising sign, you will feel quite energized for the next 6 weeks. Channeling this energy into physical exercise or a project might be advisable.
Tuesday at 4:45pm EDT, the Moon aligns with the Sun in almost 11 degrees of Leo -- in other words, the New Moon will be exactand a new lunar cycle begins. The New Moon in fun-loving, extroverted, expressive Leo has us looking for heart-felt experiences. It is important for us to express ourselves, to learn about love -- and the power of creating from the heart.
Think about the keywords for this self-expressive fire sign: “proud, generous, hospitable, caring, warm, authoritative, active, open”. How could you live into those words for the next 28 days?
Leo is ruled by the Sun, symbol of consciousness: it represents the particular qualities of the light we came to shine forth in this lifetime. This is what we were born to explore, and in particular to express: Where could you shine your unique light more brightly? What brings you joy? Not just in general... but in this very moment?
Leo also represents our creativity. There are as many ways to be creative and self-expressed as there are "selves" -- indeed, we are all creators -- we create with every thought, word and action.
Creativity requires innocence, curiosity, courage and play. To live it out, we must tap into the unique spark inside of us in a joyful way. We also need to allow ourselves the freedom to make mistakes: Creativity thrives on love and permission; it is stifled by judgment and fear.
Take a moment to contact your "free inner child" -- that place inside that is ready to play and create. What does that inner child need, to come out and play? If you aren't sure, there's no need to guess: Try asking it gently and directly...
Venus is also moving through Leo at the time of the New Moon. This encourages us to enjoy life and allow more time for whatever satisfies us -- and simply to take more breaks for pleasure and playfulness.
We also get an opportunity to bring a softer, friendlier, more loving approach to our connection to our ”inner child” (and children in general). What have you always wanted to do? Who have you always wanted to be? What would an "inner child" playdate look like?
Mars, in zero degrees of Sagittarius, is asking us to take a look at how far we have come since March 5th. In fact, it's time to take action on all the projects we've had on hold or in slow motion since then: How has your perspective shifted in the past 5 months? How does that impact the way you take action now?
Saturn in Sagittarius trines the New Moon. Commitment and discipline are the keys to understanding our heart's desire right now. Saturn is also the focal point of a T-square which I will talk about momentarily.... and it has started its station phase, slowing down and thereby allowing us to see more clearly what this energy is to us. One thing we might well become more aware of is the very high expectations we put on ourselves and others.
When it comes to your perception of life, ask yourself: What seems scary or limiting? Where could I set healthy boundaries (so I can feel connection without overwhelm)? What if I prioritized where I put my focus?
Next, let's talk about Neptune in Pisces... It's making a somewhat challenging connection to this New Moon that calls for some internal adjustments. It also reminds us to rest and get some quiet time amid active play.
We are invited to open our hearts and fully love ourselves, others, and life itself. The message is to trust that we are always loved and that everything is a form of love. How does your internal experience vary from the external? What if everything you experienced really was a form of "love"?
Mercury in Virgo opposes Neptune and Pisces -- and both of those planets make a square to Saturn in Sagittarius -- this creates a T-square focused on Saturn. We are invited yet again to bring maturity and responsibility to our communications and thought structures.
What calls out for clarity? What role might trust play? How about compassion's role? Could you move just inch further away from rigid, fearful thinking and assuming, to thoughtful, mature contemplation and communication?
Uranus in Aries trines Venus in Leo. This aspect urges us to be true to ourselves and make any changes that help us realize our personal vision. What is the ideal world that only you can see? How might your talents help bring it into being?
To sum it all up: this New Moon wants us to experience joy -- from a place of responsibility and maturity. It also invites us to tap into our divinity by being authentic and coming from the heart in every moment. What might change if you trusted your intuition 5% more? What if you were a careful, loving parent to your intuition?
One more bonus coaching question: What might it be like to create, not for the sake of achievement or gain, but out of love, joy and fun? Feel free to watch my New Moon video for a fuller discussion on the subject :-)
Do you have your Ascendant (or any personal planets) in one of the following placements: 9-13 degrees ofLeo, Aquarius, TaurusorScorpio? Or your Ascendant or Sun-sign inLeoorCancer? This New Moon may feel stronger to you...
The New Moon is also the best time to set some powerful intentions for this month's Moon cycle. Intentions are best done soon after the New Moon becomes exact -- and definitely not during a Moon void of course phase. This month, you have two slots:
The first slot is between 4:45pm EDT Tuesday and late night Wednesday (12:13am EDT on Thursday, to be exact). If that doesn't work for you, wait three-and-a-half hours until 3:34am EDT on Thursday -- you then have until 4:45pm EDT on Thursday afternoon (August 4th) to write your intentions down.
Wednesday (Aug. 3rd): the Moon remains in fun and attention-loving Leo all day (see Monday late evening for details).
Wednesday morning at 4:02am: a somewhat challenging Sun/Neptune aspect becomes exact. We started to feel this aspect on Monday evening and it will be strong until Wednesday night.
This aspect feels "internal" -- inner unease and awkwardness -- and we need to make a choice. Given that it is an internal issue, we need to develop an inner awareness, if we’re to see what needs adjusting.
Our energy tends to be unrealistically directed -- and our sense of self may actually change as we learn that we have wrongly assessed important situations. Our self-trust takes a hit.
Due to our high ideals, we may take on more than we can physically handle -- if we start to feel drained or frustrated, it might be helpful to look at the overall direction we are taking. Do your best to rest and have quiet time alongside your active play-time.
It's also worthwhile to look at how our self-expression is received by others: Can we involve them in creating/realizing our dreams? Can we express our joy fully? Perhaps we are not sure whether we want to keep dreaming our dream privately, or share it with others... As best as you can, slow down: where there is spaciousness, there is flow; where there is flow, there is effortless creation.
Do you have your Career Point (or personal planets) in 10-12 degrees of Leo or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Pisces (the Sun rules of Leo; Neptune rules Pisces)
Also, remember to set your New Moon Intentions if you haven't done so yet... here is an article on how to best do that: http://goo.gl/klCcph Feel free to (re-)watch my New Moon video as well: http://goo.gl/t0ZecN :-)
Thursday (Aug. 4th) at 12:13am EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for a little over 3 hours, until 3:34am EDT. If you are awake during this time, nurture yourself and others by acknowledging yours and their talents and if you can, have a giggle or a romantic moment with someone ;-) As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow.
Thursday at 3:34am EDT, the Moon moves into detail-oriented, practical Virgo, where it will journey until Saturday early afternoon, turning our focus toward the practical and wholesome. We are generous with our time/services and we love to help others. We also have a fondness for science and anything that makes sense in our world -- things and knowledge we can apply and use.
Health might come also into focus at this time. We notice the parts that make up the whole; this is a great time to see if our daily routines (eating, work, self-care, etc.) align with our long-term goals.
Also: if you haven't set your New Moon Intentions yet, any time Thursday before 4:45pm EDT is a great time to do so... If you'd like some input on how to do that, check out this article: http://goo.gl/klCcph -- you could also (re-)watch my New Moon video: http://goo.gl/t0ZecN
Friday (Aug. 5th): the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo all day (see Thursday early morning for details).
Friday at 11:27am EDT, Venus changes signs from playful, fun-loving Leo to detail-oriented, practical Virgo. She will journey through that sign until August 29th. For the next three and a half weeks, our relationships are going to be put under the magnifying glass. We are more likely to want to make our relationships work in real terms.
We need to feel of service to others; we love to help, especially in a practical, down to earth kind of a way. This might also be a great time to acknowledge the people in our lives who take care of those little, daily details and make our lives easier :-)
On a social level, we might be more shy during this time -- less confident -- and most likely too busy to uphold our social commitments. On the financial side of things, we may want to invest in our health -- especially around healthy daily routines -- and anything that makes life run more smoothly on a practical level. Things that aren't so practical, sensible and "just plain right" may leave us feeling uneasy.
Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus or Libra? If so, you will feel more shy and possibly busier than usual for the next 3.5 weeks. Your heart will want to be of service to others. Being healthy and having a healthy partner is important now. If you are a Virgo Sun-sign or Rising-sign, you are going to have more love and beauty in your life for as long as Venus is in your sign.
Friday at 11:20pm EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for a little over 13.5 hours, until 12:57pm EDT (Saturday early afternoon). Use this intuitive time to expand your thinking around health issues and daily routines. See if you can find another angle or a different way to make things more efficient or wholesome.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don't start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. You may also want to plan Friday night and Saturday morning ahead of time ;-)
Friday night, the Saturn station intensifies until Aug. 19th."Stationing" is when a planet moves more slowly through the sky. When a planet stations, its energy becomes more "exalted"; in the case of Saturn, this means we all feel the need to more fully face what is currently so, our actual reality.
Saturn has to do with doing what needs to be done -- so we can fully understand the practical implications of our reality, and the consequences of our past actions. Saturn also represents our structures, responsibilities, commitments and ability to "do" life, on life's terms.
As spirit beings in a physical world, it's best to observe the laws of the physical world. The sooner we learn to "play by the rules", the easier life gets. Saturn also represents time and the "domain" of time: growing up, maturing, understanding our limitations, setting healthy boundaries with others, living with integrity, being authentic and truthful, being serious and focused on building something of value to society.
Saturn is our teacher. If you had a cosmic teacher, what would your personal "earth class" be in, right now? Where are you being asked to look at your beliefs and became more mature? What calls for a commitment towards a larger truth? What will time do?
As best as you can during the time of the station, bring flexibility and open-mindedness to any frustrations. The station-phase will last until Aug. 26th; and Saturn goes direct -- after having been retrograde for almost 5-month -- on Aug. 13th in 10 degrees of Sagittarius (more on that next week).
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or any personal planets) in 8-12 degrees of Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this station. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Capricorn, since Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn.
Saturday (Aug. 6th): the Moon remains in detail-oriented, practical Virgo until 12:57pm EDT (see Thursday early morning for details).
On Sept. 1st, the Solar Eclipse will occur in 9 degrees of Virgo; this Friday night/Saturday very early morning around 12:45am EDT, Mercury moves over that same degree. This might trigger some communication issues or thought patterns... Issues connected to health, daily routines, or being of service will need to be addressed over the next 6 months. The key here is to create awareness of two things:
First, how can we receive more specific information around our Soul's journey?
Second: what additional information do we need to tap into, so that we can connect more fully to being of service and living from a wholesome place? What messages are you receiving today that could bring more clarity?
Saturday morning, a challenging Mercury/Saturn aspect will become exact at 9:18am EDT. We started feeling this aspect build from Thursday on; it will be strong until Monday evening. This aspect asks us to stretch a little, to grow and mature. Watch out for misunderstandings or rigid thinking, not only when it comes to interacting with others, but also when it comes to your own inner dialog.
On the one hand, Mercury in Virgo wants us to communicate in a practical and precise manner... On the other hand, Saturn in Sagittarius reminds us that before we can think about what we want to create or bring forth, we need to look at the larger picture and get to the core of what we believe life is truly about, right here, right now -- not what it was 5 or 10 years ago.
As best as you can, find creative ways to connect to the details, while remaining committed to the exploration of your true beliefs. What is life really about? What is your life about?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 7-13 degrees of Virgo, Sagittarius, Gemini or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Capricorn (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Saturn rules Capricorn)
Saturday at 12:57pm EDT, the Moon moves into harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra, where it will journey until Monday night/Tuesday very early morning. The energy of the Libra Moon helps us be naturally courteous and diplomatic; we are more polite at this time, as we seek the approval of others.
We very much want to maintain equal, fair relationships at this time, and are therefore open to making compromises and negotiating. These next two days are a great time for mediation -- but our need for peace and accompanying aversion to direct conflict could pull us to "yes" more easily than we might like.
We may also be able see both sides of the equation so well that we can't make decisions. As best as you can, find an inner balance with this and communicate what needs to be said with grace and charm -- even if it's "No" ;-) One last quick note: this is also a great time for anything to do with visual arts.
Saturday evening, a challenging Venus/Mars aspectwhich becomes exact at 8:20pm EDT.We started to feel this aspect from Wednesday night on; it will be strong until next week Wednesday. This aspect asks that we stretch ourselves with regard to the feminine/masculine dynamic as it manifests both “inside” and “outside”: A shift needs to occur.
This can show up in several ways, either through romantic and sexual tensions that we might experience with others. We may tease each other, flirt with each other and/or play hard to get. Or we may find ourselves arguing in a very passionate way with the opposite sex. Competitiveness, anger, frustration, or angst might be present. Either way, this can be a very passionate time.
Balancing and integrating masculine and feminine energies within ourselves would be very useful at this time. Depending on how we experience these energies, there may be a desire for adventure (extroverted/active), or for being of service (introverted/shy/receptive).
The challenge might pull us in two directions -- on the one hand, we want to be of use to others and provide a practical way to contribute; on the other hand, we want to be free and explore something new, outside of our familiar environment. What if you made space for both of these energies?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (MC) or personal planets in the following: 0-7 degrees of Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini or 28-29 degrees of Leo, Scorpio,Taurus or Aquarius ? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra or Aries (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Mars is the ruler of Aries)
Sunday (Aug. 7th): the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra all day (see Saturday afternoon for details).
Sunday late morning, a somewhat challenging Sun/Pluto aspect becomes exact at 10:12am EDT. We started to feel this from Saturday morning on; itwill be strong until Monday evening. We feel uneasy about something, sort of awkward; we need to make a choice. We need to develop inner awareness, so we can make adjustments.
This might concern compromising with others. Our fear of being manipulated might make us stubborn or manipulative ourselves. As best as you can, keep choosing the "better" alternative/the higher road, adjusting as needed.
We might be forced to focus, time and again, on details we would prefer to ignore. When life slows down, or becomes uncomfortable, simplify and be patient. We are changing and growing in ways that we can't comprehend right now. Stay as open and observant as you can.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 14-17 degrees of Leo or Capricorn? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Scorpio (the Sun rules Leo; Pluto rules Scorpio)
Sunday early afternoon, a Mercury/Neptune opposition becomes exact at 12:24pm EDT. We started to feel this opposition from Friday morning on; it will be strong until Tuesday of next week. This connection is asking us to balance logic and intuition (left vs right brain). On the one hand, we have strong intuitive connections... on the other, the struggle to focus could lead to confusion or wishful thinking.
We are more inclined to daydreaming, fantasizing and imagining things; this can lead to some frustrating communications. As best as you can, use this aspect to create spiritual connections -- or something beautiful, imaginative or inspiring to others.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 8-14 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini or Sagittarius? If so, you will feel this opposition quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo or Pisces (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Neptune rules Pisces).
If you set your New MoonIntentions earlier in the week, soon after the New Moon became exact, Sunday will be a great time to take relevant actions. If you wrote your intentions down, go back and take another look at what came through intuitively. If you didn’t write anything down, get quiet for a moment and check in with yourself: What actions are calling to you?
A head's up for next Monday (Aug. 8th): the Moon remains in harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra all day (see Saturday afternoon for details). At 1:41pm EDT, we enter a Moon void of course (VoC). that lasts for a little over 11 hours, until 12:51am EDT (Tuesday very early morning). More about all the details in next week’s forecast ;-)
